I do not own any God of War or Dragon Ball characters.
A cool breeze swept by Kratos.
Stepping onto the foreign world was an experience, taking a few strides from the spaceship. He examined his surroundings, looking around the area. His eyes scanned everything in sight, making sure they weren't ambushed as soon as they arrived. Long trees were planted all around the surrounding area, the ground was covered in grass and multiple cliffs were spotted in the distance.
So this is where those Dragon Balls that they're looking for might be, he thought. He heard the three of them scramble out of the spaceship in excitement. They're overlapping voices were hard to make out as they were amazed at being on another world. Granted, he too was amazed.
"Here we are!" Bulma said, throwing her hands out in excitement. She had trotted back to the spaceship, before rambling off about her usual antics.
Krillin, Gohan and Kratos had took in the surroundings around them. The three of them looking around in each direction, trying to sense danger.
"This place looks a lot like where Piccolo trained me when Dad was away." Gohan said, seemingly lost in his own thoughts.
"Yeah." Krillin agreed. "It looks like the same place where we first fought Nappa and Vegeta."
Gohan had looked down. "I miss him."
Kratos felt his patience hit it's limit, and stepped up. "Enough. We do not have time for this."
"Do you idiots have a single brain cell between each other?" Bulma startled Krillin and Gohan, but Kratos hadn't been phased. Rather, annoyed. She shook her head, before pulling out the radar she showed Kratos days before.
Clicking it, it turned on and displayed multiple dots on the small screen. Shreking in excitement, Bulma practically leaped into the air.
"Yes! They're here." Bulma screeched, she clicked the radar off and pocketed before turning her attention onto the men. "We should get to looking. No time to waste!"
Krilln had began to chuckle before a deafening whooshing sound came into earshot. The three of them had turned around to notice, but Kratos had already been tracking it in the air. Bulma, Gohan and Krillin all had terror written all over their face as the tiny spacecraft flew in the air. Kratos squinted, it looked exactly like the one he had traveled in.
"I think we've got company..." Bulma shakily said.
Krillin had inhaled even more, before the realization dawned on him. "That's a Sayain spaceship!"
Bulma had began to yell dramatic terms, and began to panic. Krillin also began to ramble, and it wasn't until Kratos had shut his eyes to close out the commotion in the background. He was ready for battle the moment he was attacked in the woods, this planet was no different. It is life or death, once again.
"Gohan, mask your energy!" Krillin said, in a battle readied stance. Gohan fumbled over his words, and nodded his head. In a fit of rage, Krillin threw his hat on the ground. "It's Vegeta! Why now?"
"H-how did he recover so fast?"
"It's about the Dragon Balls!"
"Quiet!"
They all closed their mouths shut when none other than Kratos had silenced them. He now faced them completely, with the usual determined scowl. He stepped closer to them, which they stepped back.
"Being afraid will do us no good," Kratos stated. "Let go of the fear. This was to be expected."
"What do we do?" Bulma had sank on her knees, which made Kratos inwardly cringe.
"We deal with our enemies. I do not know what we are truly up against. You all know about this, Frieza, more than me." Kratos turned his head towards the horizon where the spaceship disappeared, before turning back towards the group. "What I do know, is that we will be triumphant. No matter the obstacles, we will prevail."
The short speech seemed to boost their confidences, as Krillin had now a determined smile. Gohan had an unsure look, but nodded his head. And Bulma, well Bulma is Bulma.
Gohan broke away, noticing something in the sky behind him. His eyesbrows furrowed, befofe he began to shout. "Guys, something's coming!"
Kratos got into a readied stance as three orbs had races their way towards the group's position. They stopped before them, and Kratos noticed they had almost the same identical armor as the stranger on his world had.
They were alien like, and even Kratos himself would admit, very ugly. Evilness dripped down their malicious smiles as they scanned them.
"Who are these losers? A bunch of visitors?" One of them said. "Their power levels are pathetic, talk about a mercy kill!"
The other laughed, before they pointed a blaster at the ship and before Kratos could react. A bolt of energy shot out and destroyed the front of the ship. A rage boiled inside of Kratos, that was their only way out of here!
Bulma had cried out at the collision of the blast to the ship, and the ultimate outcome of it. Kratos quaked in anger, before he faced them. "Cowards! Face me!" Krillin and Gohan came even with him, ready to fight.
"With pleasure."
The three of them went after each of them separately. The one that went after Kratos tried to grab him, but his hand were caught by the Spartan. The soldier tried to use his leverage as advantage to overpower Kratos, but little did the man know.
The man gasped when he vaguley saw an ash white fist slam into his face, before another blow crashed into his gut. Spit flew from the alien's mouth, pain written all over his face. Another gut punch, and even more salivia flew from his mouth.
Grabbing his neck, Kratos quickly overpowered him, before harshly slamming him into the ground face first. Kratos felt the right blade appear, and he jammed it into the man's head. The man's cries of pain were silenced, his body now going limp. He proceeded to twirl himself with the chain in his hand before launching the man off the blade, and into the lake. His limp, dead body crashed hard into the water.
A few seconds later, and two more of them had crashed into the lake. Kratos huffed, before quickly sheathing the blade to hide them from the others. He walked over towards Krillin and Gohan had been looking at each other with determined smiles. They looked at Kratos, before they simultaneously nodded. Kratos did the same, but a depressed voice came into play.
"The spaceship..." Bulma felt tears well in her eyes looking at the damaged ship.
Kratos looked up, and surely it was nearly destroyed. It still stood, but the front of it had been destroyed. Kratos walked up to her, she was still on her knees. Drowning in her misery.e
"On your feet." He softly, but sternly said. "Not all is lost."
Bulma looked up at him, with a face that she was ready to shout at him. But the expression died down as she looked at the ground once more. Before standing up to her full height, and quietly sniffs.
More wooshing had been heard, only much more deafening than last time. Krillin had quickly suggested they hide, and they quickly ran towards an cave in one of the cliffsides. They huddle inside, Kratos on the slight outside. He was out enough to see the sky, but in enough to not be detected.
Multiple orbs of blue came into view, and rapidly flew past them. The four of them tensed up, before staying as still as possoble watching the enemies fly by. Kratos felt his sense slow, watching the smallest of them all, being carried by a spaceship. An evil, malicous half smile on his face, racing through the sky. Could that be...?
Eventually, they all passed. The group stood there for some time, before Kratos exitied out of the cave opening. Krillin followed behind him, before they both took in the surroundings.
"We cannot be cornered like this again." Kratos stated, a firm look on his face. "We must continue on." Kratos walked further, before turning back to Bulma. "What does that radar you possses say?"
Bulma fished in her pocket for the radar before pulling it out. She clicked the side of it, and gasped when the balls were now moving at a rapid speed. All of them. "No! They have them!"
"I knew it!" Krillin said, frustration now taking over his posture. "We have to stop them!" He turned around to Gohan, before calling him over. "Gohan!"
The boy came running out of the cave. "Yeah?"
"Did you see the one flying second from the front? Did you sense him?" Krillin asked urgently.
"I did." Gohan said with a stern look on his face. "His power level was unbelievable..."
"My heart sank the moment I sensed..." Krillin shakily said. "I think..."
"Frieza." Kratos blurted out.
Krillin looked up with a fear stricken expression. "Are you sure? Did you too sense him?"
"No." Kratos answered, turning halfway back tkwards the way the army force went. "I do not have this, sensing power you have. But I caught a glimpse of him. I know a tyrant when I see one. I'm sure that was him."
"What do we do now?" Gohan asked.
"We follow them." Kratos stated.
"Yeah right!" Bulma scoffed, walking towards the Greek god. She came almost face to face with him with her hands on her hips. "You three can go after a homicidal space tyrant! Someone needs to stay behind and fix the ship."
"Bulma, you aren't coming?" Krillin asked.
"Absolutely not. I am the brains, you three are the brawns. Someone's got to stay alive if all of you doom us."
She sarcastically waved before turning around with a confident stride towards the cave. It was the three men left, and an akward silence between them.
"I think whatever we're dealing with is far beyond Vegeta..." Krillin said, taking a few steps foward.
Kratos furrowed his eyebrow. "Who is this, Vegeta, you all keep speaking of?"
Krillin looked up at the much taller warrior. "He was one of Frieza's soldiers who attacked earth. Me and others defended it and managed to fight them off." The memory left a sour look on Krillin's face, but continued. "I had him in my grasp, and I could've killed him. But Goku begged me not too, so we let him go. And now he's here, surely wanting his revenge."
Kratos scoffed. "Do not let others make decisions for you."
"You don't think we made the right decision?"
"I kill those who try to kill me." Kratos replied, crossing his arms. "Sparing an enemy mercy, only gives them a turn at retribution."
"I guess that makes sense." Krillin looked around. "We need to get going. Gohan, lets go."
Krillin had floated in the air, as the boy. And they went to liftoff, before noticing that they're companion wasn't flying.
"You can't fly, I assume?" Krillin asked.
"Of course not."
Krillin hesitantly held his hand out, and Kratos looked at him with a sneer.
He ended up gripping the man's hand and blasting off into the air. Surely, with a scowl on his face.
Kratos dangled from Krillin's hand who held him effortlessly while racing through the air. He had managed to swallow his pride into allowing him to he carried even by holding on to his hand and the rest of him dangling in the air below Gohan and Krillin.
They flew for awhile before they noticed what looked like to be a settlement, with mutliple people standing around in commotion. The three of them landed on a hill over looking the village, and now they could hear the dialogue between them.
It was the man again! Kratos thought, getting into a prone stance with Krillin and Gohan. They crawled quietly right behind the edge to not be spotted. Kratos felt his anger boil at the man in the small spacecraft. A condescending smile on his face as he looked at the green, alien species.
It wasn't until the pink, bulky soldier began to massacre the planet's species. It made Kratos's blood boil. It gave him flashbacks of when he destroyed the village for Ares...
He watched the now dead soldiers limp, and dead bodies heaved onto the ground or blasted without a care whilst he sat back like a coward. Yet, he couldn't do anything. He couldn't give their position away.
"Even the strongest among you isn't a match for us!" Frieza, Kratos assumed, yelled. The green man was floating in the sky listening to the boasting. "Come back down, so we can proceed."
The man floated back down slowly with a fearful look on his face. He was helpless. It made Kratos furious, yet he did not know why. When he was in his rampage to destroy Zeus, he did not consider innocents. He has had his fair share of the blood of innocents on his hands, yet it made him angry watching it. The feeling made him feel digusted at himself...
During his self deprecation, he watched as Frieza manipulate the man into giving up the Dragon Ball. He watched as the elder carried the orange spehere, and hand it over with hesitation.
"Those... monsters!" Gohan muttered silently, his hands balled into fists. Kratos wanted to calm the child, but the Krillin's voice reached his ears.
"Calm down, Gohan." Krillin whispered. "These guys are way too powerful!"
Kratos sneered. "We are no cowards."
"We're not, but these guys are powerful! We can't go recklessly running into them." Krillin said with a furrowed brow.
Frieza was now demanding that the elder help him find the rest, to which he refused. More wordplay flew from Frieza's mouth before he said a line that particularly struck a nerve in Kratos.
"For being such an ungracious host, you'll die with the children!" Kratos felt his own anger rise. He was no hero, but he did not murder children. Not after...
The elder protested, but not before the bulgy pink alien bashed an elbow into his green face. The man had rolled back from the impact, and into the house. The man was dazed, but managed to sit up and face the evil tyrant.
It wasn't long until the elder roared for the children to run, before he raised his hands in defense. The pink alien shot an powerful blast from his mouth, shooting right over the elder and hitting the child. Kratos's mouth dropped, his eyes widened. All he could do was watch, and he felt a familar feeling of seeing Calliope in a pool of her own blood.
The three of them watched as the Frieza's soldier had reappeared behind the elder, before snapping his neck with ease. The elder dropped dead, and Kratos whirled his head around to the one remaining fleeing child. The pink alien had teleported in front of the child, laughing maliciously.
That was enough. Kratos had stood, and was going to interfere. But Gohan flew down in a flash, harshly kicking the man in the jaw. The power from the blow knocked him into the house halfway, with his legs sticking out.
Kratos leaped high into the air, landing only a few feet from the scuffle. The soldier went to stand up, but Krillin delivered a strong kick to his face. Krillin quickly grabbed the boy.
"Are you trying to get us all killed?" He angrily scolded Gohan. "We gotta go!"
The man went to stand up again, but Kratos let out a vicious uppercut that sent the pink alien back into the same house. Gohan quickly grabbed Kratos's hand tightly, before blasting off behind Krillin. Kratos watched as the men became small circles on land being dragged away quickly.
Kratos felt a knot in his stomach. Something bad was brewing...
