The van pulled up to the final location: a small, old-fashioned wedding chapel on the outskirts of Chicago. Its once-white exterior was now weathered and gray, standing against the backdrop of a cloudy sky. The group—Veronica Lodge, Moose Mason, Betty Cooper, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Cheryl Blossom, Toni Topaz, Kevin Keller, Tabitha Tate, Josie McCoy, Valerie Brown, and Melody Thornton—stepped out with heavy hearts, their collective anxiety palpable.
"This is it," Veronica said, her voice steady despite the turmoil inside her. "The last location."
Moose's hands were trembling as he stared at the chapel. "This place... why a wedding chapel? What does Hailey want?"
"No good reason," Archie muttered, clenching his fists. "Let's just get in there and finish this."
Inside, the air was cold and still. The once-beautiful interior was now haunting, with peeling paint and broken pews scattered across the room. At the center of the altar was a table, illuminated by a single, dim light. The group approached cautiously, their footsteps echoing in the eerie silence.
On the table were photos, surveillance videos, voice recorders, and an empty engagement ring case, its lid flipped open as if mocking them. Moose froze, his breath hitching as he stared at the collection of items.
"That's our... our stuff," he whispered, his voice cracking. "The photos of me and Jay. The ones Hailey left outside his apartment. The voice recorders... all of it."
Veronica stepped forward, her jaw tightening. "She's been documenting everything. This whole thing—every clue, every manipulation—it's been leading here."
Moose's shoulders shook as he picked up one of the voice recorders. His thumb hovered over the play button, but he couldn't bring himself to press it.
"Moose?" Betty asked gently, stepping closer. "What is it?"
"She... she used all of this to hurt us," Moose said, tears streaming down his face. "To hurt me. To hurt Jay. And now... now she's doing it again."
Their phones buzzed. Hailey's latest message appeared:
"Moose, it's your turn. End your engagement to Jay. Take off your ring and put it back in the case, or Jay won't survive. Choose."
"No!" Moose shouted, his voice echoing through the empty chapel. He clutched his engagement ring, tears falling freely. "I'm not doing it. I can't."
"Moose..." Veronica said softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We'll figure this out. You don't have to do this."
"She'll hurt him!" Moose cried, his voice filled with anguish. "If I don't do it, she'll hurt him."
"You don't know that," Cheryl said firmly, stepping forward. "This is another one of her games. Don't let her win."
Moose shook his head, sobbing uncontrollably. "She's already won. She's broken me. She's broken everything."
Their phones buzzed again. Another message from Hailey appeared:
"Decide now, Moose, or Jay doesn't survive the next hour."
Moose fell to his knees, staring at the ring on his finger. "Jay means everything to me. Our love, our future... I can't lose him."
"Then don't do it!" Jughead urged. "We'll find another way."
Moose shook his head, his tears falling onto the dusty floor. "If it means saving him... I have to."
With trembling hands, he slid the engagement ring off his finger and placed it in the case. The sound of the case clicking shut felt like a death knell. Moose collapsed, sobbing into his hands.
"No," Veronica whispered, her voice shaking with fury. "This isn't fair. None of this is fair."
She knelt beside Moose, wrapping her arms around him as he cried. "You did what you had to do," she said, her voice breaking. "But we're going to make her pay for this."
Their phones buzzed once more. Hailey's final message appeared:
"The final clue is complete. Congratulations. Jay's location is..." The message displayed coordinates followed by a chilling note: "Come and face me. Let's finish this."
Betty's hands clenched into fists. "She's at the end of her rope. We're ending this, tonight."
Veronica stood, her expression hardened with resolve. "Everyone, get in the van. We're saving Jay, and we're making sure Hailey never does this to anyone ever again."
Moose wiped his tears, his voice raw but determined. "Let's go. I'm getting Jay back."
The group drove in tense silence toward the coordinates. Every mile brought them closer to the final confrontation, their hearts pounding with fear, anger, and determination. Hailey's twisted game had taken everything from them, but they were ready to fight back. For Jay. For Moose. For their futures.
