Chapter 19: The Wraith within the Hotel; Pests and Pets
December 20
Downtown Pentagram City
Lydia was walking down the path from a bookstore, as she had a bag or two on her right arm. The books in general were hidden in plain sight, but Lydia selected them by herself to for some unknown purpose. Though she kept the buying secret, as she kinda had to earn the money herself. Luckily, she managed to work as a waitress at a bar, though she was very careful not to accept drinks or passes from the really scrupulous customers. Fortunately for her, Angel visited those bars, and would 'fake flirt' with her to push them away. Though at times that only enticed them further, but fortunately, Dia had snuck after to seduce them away... and then they found them beat up in an alleyway without a scratch on Dia at all and a pleased Summer being petted by the Succubus-like Sinner.
Lydia had to sweat drop at that, as she was passing a dark alleyway, "Remind me never to pick a fight with Dia unless I'm remotely ready."
"Mew"
Lydia stopped in her tracks, as she blinked looking back at the alley, as she took a gander of the source of the meow. It was a tiny one, almost like a kitten. Lydia had to take precaution, even as she told herself, slowly looking and entering, "Okay, Lydia. I know that's a kitten's meow, but this is Hell. Here, nothing is what it seems, and it might be a lure for something bigger... " and then paled, as she looked around the trash-littered area, with dumpsters barely holding garbage. "... and disguised as a trashcan. Most likely some kind of DnD Mimic..."
"Meow"
Lydia jumped, as she looked to her right, to where the source was, and saw oddly long black and gray spider legs sticking out of a dumpster. Lydia paled, as she saw the ends of them with black claws, as she feared the worse, "Or a giant trapping spider about to jump out." She quickly turned around as she gulped, "Yep. I'm out of here." And was about to quickly step out fast, only getting five steps.
"Mrew Meow"
But Lydia stopped, as she hunched over, groaning, "Damn my inability to ignore a kitten in danger."
She turned around, but heard the meowing getting more desperate, as she inched cautiously towards the dumpster with the spider legs sticking out. She carefully and cautious tried to go to it... but stopped, as she heard rustling and the meowing again. Only this time, it wasn't coming from the dumpster. Though Lydia looked back at the legs again, though arched an eyebrow at the scene. If the spider was alive, then why was it ignoring the cat? Even a spider wouldn't ignore prey that easily. She took one of her books out, and gently reached out to one of the big legs sticking out. And then tapped it lightly at first, backing off a bit. But, no reaction. She then spotted a brick not far from her, as she put the book back, and bent down to pick up the brick. She then hurled it into the dumpster, hitting the target. The legs suddenly curled up inward to the body, as Lydia slouched over in relief.
"Phew. It's dead," She sighed in relief, and then looked yonder from it. She saw a big cardboard box flipped on its side, with a bit of webbing acting as a kind of shade spot. But she approached a bit, as she saw another box slid inside of it, with a blanket on top.
She saw movement under it, as she knelt over, and heard the meowing again, "Mrow, meow. Mroooow!~"
Lydia leaned in, as she reached out to gently pull the blanket off, and went wide eye in surprise as she gasped.
Later
Back at the Hotel
Everyone was currently sitting at the TV lounge, enjoying what appeared to be the show that Clint had talked to Loona about: "Lucifer". Currently, Loona was also sitting with him, as they were all enjoying a bucket of popcorn; James, Charlie, and Vaggie sitting together... albeit Vaggie being her usual self and sitting on Charlie's other side. Niffty was on the desk, watching with delight, while petting KeeKee. Pentious, Angel, and Bruce were enjoying the show too, with Dan sitting on the floor next to Bruce. Husk was at the bar as usual, cleaning glasses as the Professor was sitting at a table with Alastor, enjoying tea and reading the latest paper. Some of the articles claiming of an odd streak of murders in hotels. And Collin...
"I-I-I ne-ve-ver knew hu-humans made th-these kind of te-te-tele-v-vision shows over the years." Collin said, stuttering.
"You'd be surprised of what happen over the years." James said.
They then saw the human playing the part of lucifer and Angel Dust however said, "Oh my..."
"Don't bother, you're not his type and he's straight." Clint said to make sure Angel doesn't try anything.
Angel Dust glared, "Oh, Damn it."
Charlie was amazed that humans made a show about her dad. Especially with that British accent and not so traumatized…
They kept watching when the front door then opens and Lydia walks in with her bags and blanket.
" Guys, you're not gonna believe what I found." Lydia said in excitement.
"A vibrator?" Angel guessed teasing her
"Funny." Lydia said, dryly.
"You found rubber mouse?" He continued now pointing his upper right hand at her.
Lydia's eyes narrowed and asked, "Remember that nursery rhyme I told you about? Well, I'm gonna invent a new version where the Spider gets batted by a cat." And flexed her claws out threatening at him.
"Oooh no I got it, You found yourself some catnip?, the heroin for kitties?" Angel asked teasing her even after being threatened.
Lydia groaned, "Angel, you're lucky we're both good friends after the Valentino and Shark Bar incident..."
James though looked over, as he asked, seeing the books, "A good book store?"
Lydia looked, and remembered the books. Though she tilted a bit to hide them on her right, while holding the blanket in her arms, holding a small half foot bundle, "Ah, no. That's for something personal to me." She then gently held the bundle, "This is what I found?"
Summer blinked, as he asked, "You found you were pregnant?" And then gasped, "Did you and James finally do it?" Though everyone groaned at that, leaving Collin confused.
"I-I-I... d-don't understand," Collin asked, "Wh-why is everyone groaning at that?"
"Well, if you knew anything about Hellbound Souls, it's this," the Professor said, peeking over the paper, "Sinner Demons can't reproduce. Not even with Hellborn."
"It's really a blessing for souls like me who like to get down and dirty" Angel said putting his upper arms behind his back and his lower ones on his chest while his face had a shit eating grin on it.
" Guys, let her tell us." James asked them as he was curious what was in the blanket.
They all stopped talking and let Lydia continue.
She sighed, as she held it up, "You know how James found Daredevil?"
Pentious paled, "Please tell me it's not another creature planning to ruin my room again? The Egg Boiz are still worried that he'll do it again."
DD came in when he heard that and huffed angrily at that.
Though DD was unaware of something small and scampering around. If anyone saw, it would have been a cockroach, but it was slightly bigger. And it was wandering to the couches, hiding beneath them.
"Well, it's, this little guy..." and Lydia unfurled the blanket... only to find it was hollow inside, "Wait. What?"
They all look at what she has and saw it was familiar somehow.
" What is that?" Vaggie asked.
"It's... an empty blanket," Angel said, as he groaned, leaning in and seeing nothing.
"huh?" Lydia asked blinking as she looked in the blanket.
Loona groaned, "Really? You brought us all here to find a blanket?"
Lydia freaks out trying to find something.
"Oh no, oh no, no, no, no" she kept saying to herself looking around frantically. "BeeBee? BeeBee, where are you," she looked around frantically, throwing the books off, as she sped around, looking all over. "BeeBee?" She then cat climbed up the railing, as she called out, "BeeBee?!" She was getting so frantic, everyone noticed black shadow mist hissing and sizzling off, as her sclera were glowing yellow, "BEEBEE!"
" Who the fuck is BeeBee?" Husk asked.
"Is it a bug?" Nifty said raising a knife while smiling creepily.
"No! At least I don't think so," Lydia shrugged, but answered, as she was starting to calm down, the mist fading a bit, "He's a sweet little angel that needed a place to stay, and be affectionate to, and..."
"Wait, an-an-ano-other an-a-angel?" Collin asked, confused.
"Not a literal angel, Collin," Lydia sighed, clarifying.
Though Daredevil noticed something slip underneath the couch that James, Charlie and Vaggie sat on, and started to sniff the air. He followed the trail leading to it, as he knelt down, and spotted a pair of glowing yellow big bulbous eyes looking back. Daredevil's eyes started to go from two to six, as he snarled, growling at the scene.
"Uh what's up with DD?" Dia asked looking at Daredevil who looked like he just saw Squirrel run by.
They all go to where DD is growling and Lydia runs to the couch.
Suddenly though, Daredevil went full grown Cerberus Wolf, as he roared out, his mouth flaming up, as he lunged down, and bit hard. Lydia cried out, "DAREDEVIL NO!"
Though DD came up, looking like he had eaten something disgusting. HIs mouth closed, but all could see something white seething out. They thought he was foaming at the mouth, but then he puked out a huge wad of what appeared to be... webbing. Daredevil, while still in his Beast Mode, sat down, shaking the lobby, as he was panting, trying to breathe while rubbing his tongue with his paw to get rid of the taste.
James goes to help, "DD!" And brushes his friend's fur with his hands, "Hold still bud."
He then looked and asked, "Are you okay?"
DD barks and points there's something under there.
"What's up with the mutt?, he loose a chew toy?" Angel asked with a raised eyebrow while his upper arms were crossed and his lower ones with on his hips.
Everyone looked to see Lydia opening the sac, and all saw what was inside it. It was a small caterpillar-bodied creature, as big as an open hand, though also had a big fluffy racoon dog-like tail. It had six small stubby ball pawed legs, with a pair of big yellow bulbous eyes. It had two horn-like tuffs of fur on top as its ears, while also having a kind of cat fur cheek fluff on its cheeks, no nose, but a cat mouth. On it's back were two big black claw stripe patterns, with the big one on top having a yellow circle in the center, and the tail had black stripes on it as well with the tip being black as well.
Its eyes were opening, as it yawned out a chirped meow.
The girls, most of them, went, "AWWW!" And began to coo at how cute it was. Though Charlie seemed frozen on the spot.
Its tail stuck up, as the little cat caterpillar creature... thing... eyed it. Its black pupils going wide as it was entranced by it. It then shot up on its tiny legs and began to chase it around, until it felt dizzy and plopped on the ground again.
"Aw it's such a cutie." Dia said with both hands on her cheeks as she gushed at adorable little hell creature.
Summer went and rubbed her hand on its cheek, "Cutie Kitten."
Loona though went wide eye... and screamed, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYH!"
Even Charlie did, as both she and Loona backed away in a mad dash away from the creature in Lydia's hands.
"Felidarachnid!" Loona freaked out, as she screamed, "FELIDARACHNID!"
Clint ran to her, and gently held her to calm her, "Whoa, Calm down. What's a Felidarachnid?"
Charlie looked at it in horror, as she said, hiding behind Vaggie, "Felidarachnid, or Felidarachnaea, also known as Catrachnids… are one of the most dangerous Bug-like Hellbeasts to ever be born in the Ring of Gluttony."
"Uh Clint. No offense, but your girl is tripping," Dan said, weirded out by how everyone's afraid such a little bug with a cat-like head.
James looked at BeeBee in general, and to Vaggie, who had her spear out and asked, "You too, Vaggie? Daredevil, I get. But you can't expect something that teeny tiny to be deadly."
"Nyeah it's too cute to be a menace," Summer said cooing at the little creature.
"You don't know the damage that hair ball can do," Loona said in fear.
"It's just a kitten, you guys," Lydia said, holding him in her hands.
"It starts out as a kitten. It's their larval stage," Charlie winced, as the background darkened, as she became more ominous, "But it will reach it's pupil state once it's got enough energy. At that time, it consumes nonstop, until cocooning itself to further its gestation. When it's done, it erupts from its cocoon, a fully transformed predator. It will kill and eat, all for the sole purpose of laying its eggs to multiply." She then said, "I even heard that they lay their eggs in still-living victims. All so they can have something to eat when they hatch."
Most of hotel's occupants looked at her like she had grown a second head, the silence was almost deafening…before Clint broke the silence. "Um…Charlie have you been watching horror movies lately?"
"You can't be serious..." Dan added looking at the tiny thing.
James walked over to her, and asked, "Are you sure about that?"
"For crying out loud, James," Vaggie groaned, as she pointed her spear tip at 'BeeBee', "We're okay with Daredevil here, but that thing has to go back."
"It's worst then having an Exorcist in the Hotel!" Charlie shouted behind Vaggie.
"C'mon, Charlie. BeeBee's really sweet," Lydia pleaded.
"For now," Loona glared, words dripping with heavy distrust.
But then both girls went wide eye, as Lydia gave them the big sad cat eyes... and oddly enough... BeeBee was doing it with her with a kitten pout.
Charlie does her best to resist, "Cannot.. give in... to cuteness..." But then she looked to see Summer was pulled in as well, making it a trio of big eyes and sat cat faces. Charlie screamed at the cuteness overload. "I can't take it, it's too adorable!" She cried out with tears from her eyes.
Vaggie looked back at her, "Charlie, you need to resist. If you don't, we're gonna have to burn the Hotel to the ground."
"But it's too adorable to resist…" Charlie cried with tears raining down her face.
James smirked and looked at the gang. "They learned that from that Puss in Boots movie," James told them.
"Thanks for that, James," Vaggie mumbled to him both irritated and annoyed.
Then to make it worse… KeeKee was atop Lydia's head, and her lone eye was doing the pleading eyes with her single eye. Charlie gave out a shout as this broke the camel's back and she said, hugging Keekee, "Please don't be sad, KeeKee... we can keep BeeBee here."
"So BeeBee can stay," Lydia smiled, hopeful.
Charlie saw Loona and Vaggie shaking their heads but she caved, "Yes, BeeBee can."
"You guys will kill us all," Loona said, looking furious at this decision.
Clint went over and said to her, "Loona, maybe it's not so bad? Didn't you think we'd be bad?"
"You haven't seen what they can do, I have." Loona said in fear.
Bruce looked interested, as did James, as Daredevil reverted to puppy form, and was in his arms, "Really? What happened?"
Loona shivers and tells them, fear, and horror in her how she acted and sounded as she spoke, "They devour every part of you, bit by bit, organ by organ, leaving nothing, not even a bone."
Tears formed in her eyes, as Loona then revealed, "They're the reason I'm an orphan."
Clint looked in concerned surprise, as he asked, "What?"
"They devoured my birth parents," Loona said, grimacing at the memory.
Everyone went wide eye, as she explained, "I was only a pup in the Gluttony Ring. They came out of the dark, out of nowhere. I'll never forget their long legs skewering through the house, the smaller ones jumping at us, while the bigger one used its fangs to liquify my parents. I only managed to get away when they were too busy feasting on my parents' corpses." She then frowned at BeeBee, oblivious of her action, as she snarled, "But I will never forget what the young look like."
Charlie gasped, covering her mouth, "Oh Loona..."
James looked at BeeBee and tried to get an idea.
Clint came to his girlfriend and asked, "Does Blitz know?"
She shook her head, and answered, "I don't like to think about it."
Clint became concerned for her. He pulled her in for a hug, hoping to help her feel alright, but then asked, "Wanna see Blitz? You can probably kick him in the nuts."
"Please," Loona asked in tears.
"We need to get rid of that thing, now." Angel said in worried.
"Look. Let's just wait until it hits its Chrysalis stage," James said, as he explained, "I can't be certain if this is the same species that Loona saw as a kid. If BeeBee's species are similar to Earth Spiders, there might actually be several subspecies. We just need to find out what kind he is and whether if he's a threat or not."
Husk looked at him, and asked in fear, "Are you fucking high, kid?!"
"You guys weren't right about Daredevil trying to kill all of us," James said, as he pointed to him, "And we have Daredevil if things go to pot."
They all looked at each other, knowing he was right about that. Loona was still uneasy about this as she glared daggers at the Felidarachnid...
"Hey Uncle, you think you can make something to help us in case it does turn into a monster?" James asked.
The professor thought on it as he shrugged, "I might. But it will have to depend on the subspecies he is." That made everyone look at him in confusion as he answered, "Felidarachnids are similar to spiders and cats in which there are different sub species as well as breeds. If I can find which he is then maybe we won't have any problems."
"Alright then, Lydia, since you found him, you're in charge of him," James said to Lydia as she smiled in joy.
Loona growled before snorting and storming away, not caring about the desk she knocked over.
"Loona!" Clint said as he goes after her.
Charlie, still hiding behind Vaggie for protection said, "I'll... just be in my room..."
She turned and ran to her room in fear. Vaggie following behind with her spear and eye facing the Felidarachnid in Lydia's arms before she disappears from sight. James sighed knowing this was gonna be a tough day.
"So now what?" Dan asked, confused.
James turned and looked at BeeBee in Lydia's arms, "I guess we keep an eye and treat the little thing no different until we have proof."
"Well then, let the new entertainment begin!" Alastor said with his usual smile on his face.
"You know we can't tell if you're smiling normally or sarcastically." Lydia said in confusion.
Alastor looked at Lydia and cracked his neck. Lydia yelped, seeing that while BeeBee did something only natural to it, and shot webbing, covering Alastor's face. They all looked in shock at what the cat spider did. And soon began sweating in fear of what's about to happen when the Overlord retaliates. Alastor remained still until his dark, voodoo, power start ebbing out of his body and burned the webbing off of him, as he said, "What a... punctual pest."
And walked away with a forced smile on his face.
Everyone sighed in relief that nothing happened.
"That was really fucking scary." Dia said, which the others nod in agreement.
Later
Daredevil was marching about as he made sure everything was secure for his friend and the others to live peacefully here despite the craziness they go through. He looked at everyone's rooms to make sure they were all safe.
Daredevil though was so in focus... he didn't see the web he crashed into. He furled about, as he got wrapped in a cocoon of his own making. He blinked, realizing or was completely annoyed that he let this happen Though looked above to see Beebee... sleeping upside down, on a thread coming out of his tail. It would look cute if not for Daredevil getting stuck again.
Daredevil growled and tried to get unstuck. The shaking caused the webbing to shake with his attempts to get unstuck. Only for him to fall flat on his stomach, while still stuck, but enough for the web to break and BeeBee to fall. Though oddly enough, he landed on all six, right on Daredevil, while still asleep, which annoyed the Cerberus Wolf pup
The pup was about to try and shake him off when someone called, "Guys! Guys! Look at this! Daredevil's giving BeeBee a ride! It's so cute!"
Charlie squealed taking a picture with her hellphone.
Dia and Summer also chimed at this, as they got their phones out, with Lydia looking super cute at this scene, as she fell to her knees, gushing out. James had to hide a snicker, along with the other guys. But Loona... she kept her distance along with Vaggie, giving the spider-cat glares.
DD was also glaring up at the spider-cat on his back, wanting it to get off...
The Next Day – Dec 21st
Lydia was in her bed asleep, until BeeBee plopped onto her stomach as he scurried about, licking her face. She woke up giggling, as she gently nuzzled him, but then blinked, as she saw her room, which was usually colored black and purple with goth features... covered in webs.
Her jaw drops in shock and she looks at BeeBee.
BeeBee looks at her cutely.
She sighs as she knew can't stay mad at him and rubs his tummy.
BeeBee cooed as it received an abdomen rub.
However, it resulted in a cocoon body falling down at them, but dangled above the two. They shot up, hair up and hissing madly, as Lydia returned to normal, but then looked to Beebee. His little legs sprouted sharp single claw talons. Spider Talons. For a moment, she remembered what Loona had said, and a bit of hard-reality caution hit her.
But it faded as the cocoon opened... to reveal an exhausted Blitzo, as he groaned, "Christ on a Stick! how does something that tiny trap something bigger than itself? I'll never figure that out."
"What are you doing here and how do you get in?" Lydia asked.
"I came here to get my Loona back, and you'd be surprised how I got in," Blitzo replied. Though looked away, "Though the latter would shock you to your core."
Lydia narrowed her eyes at this, "Doesn't matter. You need to go before you make things worse between you two."
"I'm not going without my Loonie-Toonie," Blitzo roared out. Suddenly, Lydia's door opened to show Vaggie with her spear, as he sighed, "Oh fuck it."
"Damnit you bastard! How many times do I have to catch you till you get the fucking hint!?" Vaggie snapped.
"Until I get my daughter back I'm keep coming here, BLEEP!" Blitzo shouted, not realizing the danger he was in for saying that.
That got Vaggie furious as she made her way to Blitzo, grabbed him by the shoulder which made him gulp, sweating bullets in fear.
Outside
Blitzo was then thrown out with a yell before hitting the ground, hard, from the window he was tossed out of unceremoniously from.
"AND STAY OUT!" Vaggie yelled.
Back Inside
Vaggie was patting her arms angrily as she muttered, "Juro que si lo vuelvo a ver lo mataré tan fuerte que desearía estar muerto antes de nacer del vientre de su madre..."
James politely said, "Vaggie, you know not all of us can understand what you're saying. Right?"
"Trust me, James. You don't want to know what I said if you value your manhood." She said marching away angrily.
James shook his head. But both stopped as they heard BeeBee screech cry out in fear. The two rushed to the lobby where it came from, and found him hiding under a pillow as they looked to the screen. It was the film 8-legged freaks with the spiders, normal sized, swarming the spider wrangler and eating him alive while his parrot was cawing out 'I see dead people' until a hand-sized spider leapt out and attack are the bird as the scene changed to black.
Though the two saw BeeBee freaking out shivering under the pillow. Which was odd for a future death beast.
"Awww, poor thing is scared of the movie." Charlie concerned.
Vaggie raised a brow at that, "Odd..."
"Who put that movie on?" Lydia asked.
"I think BeeBee was fiddling with the remote and that happened," James theorized. But then looked to Vaggie and asked, "What's odd?"
"These things shouldn't be scared of anything that resemble them... yet that-" Paused looking at Lydia, she corrected himself, "BeeBee... is scared of what it saw."
"That does seem weird," James admitted in agreement with her.
They all looked at the scared Beebee. Lydia then changed the channel, and then BeeBee lit up. It was one of the Spider-Man films, Spider-Man 2 by Sam Raimi. In a battle against Doc Ock.
BeeBee saw this and stared in wide-eyed amazement.
He seemed to cheer up, as he sat up on Lydia's lap, seeing Spider-Man in action.
"Guess he likes Spider-man," James said with a smile.
Vaggie was in awestruck, as she was trying to figure this out, "What.. exactly... is going on here?"
That Night
Loona was in Charlie's room, along with Clint, James, Vaggie, and Lydia, of whim was petting a sleeping BeeBee. Much to Loona's uncomfortable nature on this.
James smiled watching before he asked the group, "So what now?"
"This better not be some freaky interventional orgy," Loona said, crossing her arms. But blushed, as she looked to Clint, a bit embarrassed, "I mean... not that I'm not open to a poly-relationship like these three are with James."
"It's not Loona, don't worry." Clint said to her.
James looked at her with half-lidded eyed expression while he asked, "Really?"
"Don't judge me." Loona said.
"I honestly am trying to get us in a polygamy relationship with Charie," Lydia said, pointing to her, James, and Vaggie, while ending it pointing to a blushing wide eye, Charlie.
Lydia realized waht she said and murmured, "Oops..."
James blushed as well, as he sighed, "Oh boy..."
Vaggie, who was blushing harder, sighed, "Can we... just talk about why we're here." And pointed to BeeBee, "It's solely about him."
Lydia, getting over her embarrassment held BeeBee close and asked, "Waht about BeeBee?"
"He's... not like the other Felidarachnids," Vaggie confessed. "He's freaked out about when a spider eats people. He doesn't seem to be eyeing us for food."
"And if he does, he's always going after my uncle's meals," James added.
"Yeah, I had to make extra meals. To which he manages to sneak the others away," Clint explained.
"Well obviously." Lydia said, while tickling Beebee, "He's a sweet little baby already playing with DeeDee."
"It's like he's Garfield the cat" James said, seeing the similarities.
They ignored his comment while DeeDee, sitting behind a corner glared at how this happened.
"So the real question is how is he like this?" James said.
They all looked at BeeBee.
He looked at them all in confusion. But Loona shook her head, as she said, "No." She stood up, "No, I don't believe this shit!" She pointed at BeeBee, as she said, "That thing is a Killing Machine. It's just playing this role so it can get us later."
Lydia looked at her, "Loona you sure it's a good idea?"
Clint placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I'm not staying in the same room with this fucker," Loona snarled at BeeBee, to which shrunk at her rage.
Lydia got up protectively between, "Stop it! You're scaring him!"
"I don't care, I'm getting rid of it right here, right now," Loona said in rage.
Freaking out, BeeBee screeched, as he shot his tail out like a scorpion, and shot webbing right in Loona's face. He then scurried off, leaving the room in a heartbeat. Loona just slumped there, and groaned while masked, "Goddammit."
"Someone stop him!" Charlie cried out, worried about things escalating.
Loona got up and chased after him as the others tried to stop her before she hurt him.
"Loona, wait!" Clint yelled out to try and stop her from making a mistake.
He scurried really fast for a critter with six stubby legs, even as he meowed in a cute but panicky way. Loona chased him on all four and in rage. He scurried fast, as he rolled into a corner, and sped off, as Loona crashed into a wall. She got fed up and sprinted hard after him.
Everyone opened their doors to find out what was going on.
BeeBee ran like a bat out of hell with Loona charging at him, as he reached for the railing of the balcony, as he crawled up. He huffed and panted, just as he jumped in fright when he heard Loona approaching.
BeeBee screamed in fear, jumped on the railing, and slid down the stairs.
Though everyone who caught up saw him do so. And suddenly balled up into a speeding spin ball like Sonic, as he sped off straight, flying through the air... and suddenly, caught by a baseball glove. Worn by the Professor as his hand stretched to him, holding BeeBee in hand, as he asked, "Good lord. What's going on here?"
"Give me that hair ball!" Loona ordered while coming down the stairs.
"Oh okay," he said, as he slowly handed him out.
Though Lydia and everyone screamed, "NOO!"
"But..." the Professor said, as he smiled, "Good news, everyone!"
"Oh no, it's not," James said, as he frowned, "Every time you say that. It's always bad news."
"Well, this time, itisgood news," the Professor smiled. "I finally discovered BeeBee's species."
"What?" Everyone asked in confusion.
"Yes, it took a while since Beebee's discovery by little Lydia, but after observing the little furball," he explained, "I was able to determine why he's so different from the Tigerantula species that decimated Loona's parents." He smiled, as he held BeeBee, "His species is a Farming Catpider."
"A Farming what?" Lydia said as she grabs Beebee from The Professor's hand.
"A Farming Catpider." The Professor repeated, then explained, "A Vegetarian Sub-species that doesn't prey nor kill any living soul here in Hell for consumption,"
Though there was one in particular who didn't believe it.
"Bullshit!" Loona said still looking at the Catpider and growled at it.
"I'm serious, Loona," the Professor said, as he projected a holographic display of BeeBee, and a great dane-sized spider-like creature next to it. It had eight legs, while it had a racoon tail on its small body. There were big yellow eyes with a tiny pair atop, catlike horn ears, while its mouth was big enough for two fangs. Each leg had two sets of black laws, while the hind legs were bigger in the back.
"This is BeeBee's normal form, and his farming form," he explained, "The species appears to be a mixture of three major spiders: Jumping, Trapping, and Orb Weaving. It's capable of major jumps, while also creating webbing akin to iron steel rope. And the claws are mainly for digging and carefully grabbing produce. Normally, spiders are carnivores, but BeeBee's species requires tremendous amounts of energy. Energy from vegetation or Tofu." And then frowned at BeeBee as he said, annoyed, "Which is why the glutton here keeps stealing my vegetarian lasagna dishes every night this week!"
"I thought it was weird he liked that lasagna," James said.
Lydia looked at him, as he was now eye-to-eye smiling, "I knew you weren't a monster. You lil' Garfield cutie."
BeeBee smiled as she nuzzled him, but he blinked, as a flash of memory came to him.
He remembered himself as a newborn, days ago. When a shadowed larger Felidarachnid in its spider form gently placed him and others in the box. When all of a sudden, a larger and black furred Felidarachnid, beefier, attacked it. A huge fight with screeches occurred, with the other little kittens being taken away, with only BeeBee left, and scared. Until a large crunch was heard. He waited and waited for what was to come.. until... he met Lydia. At first he was scared, but the way she held and petted him, he felt safe again.
"I think a certain hellhound needs to apologize," Lydia said with a smirk.
Daredevil blinked, as he sighed, not liking this. He walked up to Lydia as he sat down, and barked, apologizing to BeeBee. The little orange kitten critter blinked, wondering why he was apologizing.
"I mean Loona, Daredevil. But thank you," Lydia said while petting his head.
"No way. Forget it!" Loona snarled, as she looked to BeeBee, "I refuse to believe this thing is harmless."
"I once again say that his species is," the Professor said, as he explained, "The only real harm is that these little guys are basic prey and bait for the Tigerantulas. The real predator of its species. IT especially loves to eat the larvae of these species."
Everyone was shocked in fear and sadness from hearing that.
"Oh yes. It's also very sadistic as it plays with its food before eating it," the Professor explained. "Namely tormenting the others by making them watch as it kills and eats their litter siblings. One by one. It loves to torment its prey. All the time. And if there's one kitten missing, it'll hunt it down just to catch it and make it watch."
That was when the hotel lobby was faced with dead silence. Where James asked, wide-eyed in shock, "Wait what that last part?"
"It would hunt it down just to catch it and make it watch," The Professor repeated.
They all realized something in horror and looked at each other. Charlie being the first to speak, "Lydia, were you followed?"
No one could miss the fear in her voice.
"No, not really," Lydia shrugged. "I would have known that a giant spider was stalking me."
"Oh no, it doesn't follow you right away. Like I said: they take their time hunting their prey down. Giving them a false sense of hope... and then when you least expect it..."
Suddenly, a web shot at Niffty, getting her head, "YAY! Webbing!"
And was fished right up, as all looked up.
It was a giant tarantula-like Tiger-looking spider, with black and gray fur on its body, a bigger tail resembling a scorpion's tail, powerful legs, and had two big red eyes with smaller eyes around it, and opened a smiling gnaw with dripping fangs.
Though the Professor smiled, "Good news, everyone! That's the real threat!"
They all screamed in terror and ran for it.
BeeBee shrieked out, as the giant looked down to see its prey. The one that got away. It leapt down, and crashed into the living room, wrecking it, as it stood on its big legs. It looked to see Lydia holding him, and smirked evilly, as it stomped towards her and Beebee.
"Lydia, run!" James said pulling out the scythe and the others getting their weapons out.
The beast looked to James and saw a silver-haired woman with a spear show up. It fired two shots at them, sticking them to the walls with cocoons of webbing, with only their faces free to see, as it continued to go after Lydia, who ran.
The others tried and fought it off, but they ended up the same way as James and Vaggie. Lydia was seen running through the halls with BeeBee in her arms in fear. Loona froze when she saw the monster before her. She started having flashbacks of that day. It stopped as it looked at Loona, and slowly came to her. Its teeth and mouth drooling.
Loona started to shake in fear and whimpered in tears. "Loona, run," Clint yelled, trying to break free.
The beast kept walking towards her. It's mandibles clicking and dripping, as it smirked evilly, smelling the fear off of her and only wetting its appetite as it did so.
But suddenly, a Web shot at its eyes, as it stopped. It stumbled back, blinded by the unknown assailant, as it thrashed to get it off.
She couldn't move, for all she knew she was that defenseless, useless pup, she then saw the web and turned to who could've done it.
"Who..?" James asked, wondering who fired that.
BeeBee was in Lydia's arms, but his tail was up as it was still aiming at the Tigerantula's face, as it struggled to get the webbing off. Lydia smiled, as she petted him, "Good job."
But the two looked surprised, as they heard numerous kittens meowing from the beast's tail. There, they saw various kitten heads, or catpider-larva kittens, alive and crying to be free. BeeBee looked shocked, as he meowed at them. But Lydia realized... those kittens were BeeBee's siblings.
Lydia then said, "Guys! BeeBee's siblings in there! We gotta save them!"
Vaggie blinked, "Wait, what?"
They all looked at the tail and saw the larva. The litter cried out, wanting to be freed not just of them being imprisoned, but also from the terrible fate that the Tigerantula had planned for them. Clint saw them and started to feel different and started to feel a change. He started to grow and growl in rage. Everyone looked at him and saw him changing into something big
However, the Tigerantula noticed and fired a massive web at him, sticking him, Bruce, and Dan to the wall. Dan though grumbled, "Well, least we're not stuck at each other's crotches like we're giving each other a blowjob."
Bruce just gave Dan a look as if he was saying'Seriously?'
The Tigerantula then stomped as it saw Lydia and BeeBee, about to slowly cross the gap... but then...
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR!
The Tigerantula stopped, as it turned to see behind him... Daredevil, transformed and ready for battle.
Charlie or Vaggie would have done something. Heck, even Alastor, until the Professor noticed, and stopped them, while watching, "No. Don't interfere."
Charlie blinked, "What? Why?"
"The Arrogance of humanity, whether alive, dead or from another plain of existence, is that we believe nature is in our control. And not the other way around," the Professor said, as he looked serious. And then finished, "Let them fight."
" He's right, SICK HIM, DAREDEVIL!" James said.
Charlie looked, "Professor, I don't mean any offense, but… ARE YOU NUTZ!"
"Yes, but not at the moment. I read that Cerberus wolves are immune to their venom," The Professor said.
Daredevil charged at the tiger-like opponent. Though in a flash... it felt like it had gone from a battle... to a Godzilla kaiju battle.
"KAIJU FIGHT!" Dan shouted in excitement.
Daredevil ran in first, with the Tigerantula lifting its upper body, and smashing down on the Cerberus Wolf. The mighty canine bit at one of the front legs, making it rear back in caution, as it sneered and hissed at him. Daredevil charged again, but this time the beast shot a web in his face. He reared back to try and claw the webbing off, but the Tigerantula took advantage of it and 'punched' him like a boxer.
Everyone saw the fight and were shocked of what was happening.
Though while Loona was scared, she heard the cries of the trapped kittens within the tail of the Tigerantula. Some of them were of different breeds, but of the same size as BeeBee. They cried out in fear and pain, wanting to get free. And then flashes of memory from Loona's past flooded her mind. The same scenario that played out for her family, now in the place of the kittens.
Loona growled in rage and charged at the Tigerantula.
But a big screeching tiny cry came as well, as a web line shot at the back of the beast... and suddenly, BeeBee was flinging himself onto the back. In comparison, he looked like a little ant atop a tarantula's back, going completely unnoticed, as he raced to the tail.
Lydia gasped worried.
BeeBee carefully but quickly raced up to the tail, as he saw his siblings trapped. One was a dark gray with a green and yellow eye, with longer horn ears. Another was a blue one with silver stripes on its back, with a closed eye. The third was a khaki colored fuzzy one whose legs seemed to disappear with the fur. Another was a yellow furred and orange spotted one. And the last one was a purple furred cat with a luxurious set of black stripes and white spots on his cheeks; she looked like she could be Lydia's.
Loona swung one of her legs and kicked the Tigerantula in the leg. It caused the beast to loose it's balance. The two titans stumbled, as they lost their footing, as they smashed through a wall to be thrown outside. Though once again, it was the bar that had suffered the crash again.
"OH, COME, FUCKING, ON!" Angel and Husk said in anger.
Vaggie groaned while Daredevil snarled and bit on one of the legs to force it down before forcing the Tigerantula down with his paws and hot air coming from the edges of his mouth. Loona started climbing on the beast's back to help BeeBee free the kittens. BeeBee was struggling to pull out the blue and silver one, as BeeBee screeched to get his sibling out.
Loona came looming over them looking down at the Catpiders.
Though before she could do anything, the tail swooshed back and forth, like a mechanical bull attempting to shake them all off. But Loona got on all fours, clawing in, and using her teeth hold on, as BeeBee slid over, and webbed Loona to stay on with a use of a line. He climbed up to her back, and clung to her tightly.
Loona looked at the cat spider as it meowed at her, like it was saying that it had a plan. But more in all, he was just screaming for the shaking ride to end. "Hang on tight hair ball," Loona told BeeBee.
Loona then jumped off while the Tigerantula snarled wanting its meal back. Daredevil then grabbed one of its front legs with his teeth, and then shook and shook, shaking the Tigerantula like a ragdoll. The Tigerantula screeched/roared in pain while trying to stab the Cerberus-wolf with its stinger-tail. Though Daredevil let go as soon as he spotted Loona and BeeBee stuck on there. The Tigerantula then began to try and go after Loona with its meal.
"Loona, break the stinger, it will be defenseless without it," Clint yelled out to help her.
The Professor then shouted, "No! Don't! If you do it'll shoot out the venom in its undistilled form killing us all permanently!"
"Okay smart guy, then how do we kill it then?!" Vaggie asked trying to break free with a knife.
"Like I keep saying: Let them fight," the Professor said, reminding them not to meddle with nature.
Clint grabbed him by the coat, Screaming furiously as cold air came out from his mouth roaring in the scientist's face, "IF WE DO MY GIRLFRIEND'S GONNA GET KILLED!"
James saw the cold breath and got an idea to get loose, telling Clint, "Clint, freeze the web!"
Clint nodded, as he froze it, but suddenly, the Tigerantula shot five more shots at him, pulling him in, as he slowly began to stick him in the tail with the other kittens, until he was up to his head. Clint sweat dropped, "Well, this is no better!"
"Damnit, I thought that would work, like in Superman or X-men!" James said.
"SAY WHAT!?" Most of the others shouted surprised by where he got the idea.
"Oh please, you all had the same idea when we all watched those movies!" James said while looking at the others.
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Angel Dust asked, confused about the last one, since he died before X-Men was made or even the movies.
Loona sighed, while still on the tail, "Ugh, is there anyone or anything that can end this?"

Beebee then crawled off of her, as he jumped at the tail's tip, spinning around it, as he was webbing up the end. Once the tip had all been tied up, he then shot forward from it, as he shot a line to the tail. And then spotted a nearby lamp post on the hotel premises, as he darted for it, circling it. Until he had tied up the entire end, and held it down with other lines making an anchor. The Tigerantula halted, as it blinked, unable to move its tail.
Lydia stared before shedding a tear, "My baby! I'm so proud!"
The Tigerantula continued to pull away, fighting Daredevil, as it snarled. Until finally... it pulled so hard it ripped its own tail off. The black tail fell down, taking Clint, Loona, and the rest of BeeBee's litter down crashing to the ground. All the white the Tigerantula stumbled forward, headbutting Daredevil, seemingly knocking him out.
[End Song]
"Daredevil!" James and the others shouted in worry.
Charlie was worried before she began to get angry, her voice distorting and her horns sprouting, "HOWDAREYOU!"
But it didn't seem to notice her, as it turned its attention back to its tail to where its prey was. It slowly walked over to them, as Lydia and BeeBee were helping Clint and Loona out to get them free.
BeeBee was nibbling at the webbing on Loona, as she grumbled, "Yeah, you better get me out of this."
"Girl, hurry!" Clint said in fear.
Loona glared down at BeeBee. However, a giant spider leg smashed not far from them, as BeeBee stopped to turn, as did Loona. Both were spooked, mostly Loona, to see the Tigerantula towering above them, as it silently hissed at them. Its fangs drooling for the upcoming meal. But BeeBee turned around, and got on its hind stubs as it shot out its four front black claws, hissing and screeching at him, like he was trying to be bigger and scarier than the Tigerantula. But the massive predator didn't seem intimidated as it slowed its way down to BeeBee, and out of his salivating fanged mouth were tentacles to ensnare and drag BeeBee in for the first meal.
Leena looked in horror, not for herself, but for BeeBee who didn't run at all and shouted, "GET OUT OF THERE YOU CRAZY GRUB!"
And the beast smiled evilly at this... only to stop as its eyes went wide with shock. Beebee stopped as he looked in confusion, as did Loona, Clint, and Lydia, who had gotten Clint halfway out of there. The Tigerantula was halted... as Daredevil had come to again, and in the nick of time, bit the spider's back, pulling it back. He then whipped it around, as they were now face to face, with the spider trying to use its legs to stab him away. But Daredevil wasn't about to let it win, as it grabbed or pried open the Spider's mouth as his tail and ribs lit up. And he unleashed a powerful blast of Hellfire, right down the beast's gullet. Its eyes were whiting over with intense heat, as the joints shot and burst out flames, until the neck melted off as the body fell to the ground, along with the cooked head. Daredevil stomped on the head, and stood proudly, as he unleashed a Godzilla-like roar out, all for Pentagram City to hear.
But exhaustion finally kicked in, as he fell to the ground, lying down, and shrunk back to his normal puppy size.
When all were freed, immediately James and Charlie ran to the tuckered out Cerberus Wolf while the princess held him close, "Oh, your brave little pup..."
"Did you know he could do that?" James asked, as he gently rubbed his canine friend's back and head.
"There were rumors... but I thought it was a story especially since none of the canines did that since Cerberus from millions of years ago." Charlie said holding the puppy, holding him like a baby, explaining, "When Demons tried to poach them to make them their personal attack dogs, Beelzebub and the Hellhounds saw this as an attack on them and fought everyone who tried it to poach and hunt them. Mom and dad stopped the fighting before it became a full-on war. convincing them that it was just a rumor that Cerberus Wolves could do it and only the actual Cerberus could do it before he disappeared after the Olympians fell."
Everyone looks at Daredevil shocked to hear that. Vaggie asked, " Are you saying Daredevil is...?"
"All Cerberus Wolves are descendant from the Legendary Guard dog from Greek Mythology." Charlie answered before smiling sheepishly, "hence the name."
BeeBee gently hopped off of Loona and scurried to the exhausted Daredevil. Slowly, but then stopped at his right side, walking around in a circle, as he balled up next to his face, and gently licked it. He softly purred as Daredevil opened his eyes a bit, to which he saw BeeBee lying next to him. It was his way of saying 'thank you'. Daredevil smiled, as he gently scooched over to BeeBee, his tail gently tapping the ground.
Charlie stared with her eyes sparkling and cooed, "Aww..."
They then felt something soft on their legs.
The other little Catspider siblings of BeeBee were freed, and they were meowing and purring on BeeBee and Daredevil.
They all looked at them in amazement.
"They're a family, he was saving siblings." Lydia said with a smile of joy. Lydia then sighed, as she puffed out her chest, "Well. That settles it. I'm adopting them all."
"Huh?" James asked, confused.
"But that's a lot of mouths to feed," Summer said while holding one of the kittens.
Vaggie remained standing as she already had an animal she was close to and didn't want another one. Dia wiggled her finger in front of the kitten in her arms. One was sleeping under Husk's hat and Husk didn't mind. Though one scurried to two unknown targets: Loona and Clint. It was the blue and silver one with the closed eye. The two looked down, not sure of what to do.
They both looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.
"I did pet sit cats when I was alive" Clint said as he pets the blue one.
Loona then agreed, "The grubb did try to save me from that..."
She stopped looking at the remains of the monster that killed her parents.
"Ah fuck it." She picked the silver one up and rubbed her face on it.
She then heard the snapping of a phone taking a picture and saw Clint standing there while having an expression that looked like he was regaining color to his face.
"You show anyone that, I'll rip your fucking balls off," Loona said with a threating tone. "In a bad way."
"I won't," Clint smiled, "It's for my personal collection of my awesome girlfriend."
Loona blushed curiously at that before she turned away embarrassed.
"Aww." Charlie said in a cute voice.
Loona turned and shouted, "SHUT IT!"
They all then looked at the dead Tigerantula body.
"What do we do with That?" Angel asked.
The Professor chuckled and said, light reflecting off his glasses, "Do not worry everybody, allow me to take care of this."
All of them shook in fear at that.
"Um, how are you gonna ... get rid of it?" Charlie asked in fear.
"Trust me I have my ways," The Professor said grinning as he pushed a button and the ground open up and lowered like an elevator down underneath.
"What did you do to the hotel?!" Vaggie said pointing her spear at The Professor.
"What seems to be the problem? I had every right to rebuild it to my specifications as long as it didn't harm the spiritus Catus," The Professor said unafraid gesturing to KeeKee who came and checked on both of her new friends.
They all looked at her liking all of them. KeeKee meowed nuzzling against Daredevil. Daredevil liked it and nuzzled back, BeeBee and his siblings join them. She then went and clawed at Daredevil's face once before hissing and Meowing angrily at him before pointing a paw at the wall her eye glaring at him.
She then continued to rant and rave furiously at how he damaged the hotel she's connected to.
"I really wish I knew what she's saying," James said in curiosity.
Judging by how Beebee and the litter are reacting, it was scary stuff.
"Bruce, get the tools. We got a lot of fixing to do," James said to Bruce.
"Allow me to be of assistance as well," Alastor said appearing out of his shadow, grinning, "Anything to repay that enjoyable conflict between the beast and its eight-legged rival."
He then snapped his fingers and the shadow minions came out to begin working on the repairs with the two.
"You better replace the booze it destroyed too," Husk said in anger.
"Of course," Alastor added waving his cane and the bottles were replaced.
Angel ran past them to hug all the bottles in tears of joy .
James looked behind him as he and Bruce prepared to repair, but couldn't help but see Daredevil and KeeKee in some verbal dispute. "Hmmm, I wonder what they're saying.."
Moments Ago
(AN: for the audience, we've translate the animal language between Keekee and Daredevil to human language)
KeeKee came up to Daredevil and asked, nuzzling to make sure he was okay, "D... are you okay?"
Daredevil stood up shakingly, as he winced a smile, "Yeah, KeeKee. I should be fine."
BeeBee sighed, piping up, "Phew. That's a relief."
"Good..." Keekee said before she then went and clawed him in the face so suddenly, which left Daredevil to yell in pain.
Keekee glared at him and began shouting, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU DID FIGHTING THAT THING!? ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU MADE IT SLAM AGAINST THE WALL OF MY HOTEL WALL!? IT'S NOT PAINLESS SINCE I'M CONNECTED TO THE HOTEL LIKE YOU ARE WITH SKIN OR YOUR FANGS!"
She took breath before continuing her shouting, "I HAVE HALF A MIND TO TAKE YOUR SCRAWNY TAIL BY THE INSIDE AND PULL YOU OUT INTO THE WILDLANDS FOR HOW YOU JUST GREW AND FOUGHT THAT BEAST INSIDE THE HOTEL! DO YOU KNOW HOW PAINFUL IT IS FOR ME! DO YOU!? ESPECIALLY SINCE I'D RATHER NOT HAVE CHARLIE AND EVERYONE FIND OUT I DIED BECAUSE OF ALL THE HOLES THAT'S BEEN PUT IN ME SINCE SHE MADE THAT ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE TV! I SWEAR TO LUCI-DADDY THAT IF YOU DO THAT GAIN I'M GONNA SHAVE YOUR BUTT AND MAKE YOU NOT BE ABLE TO WALK FOR MONTHS! YOU GOT THAT BUSTER!?"
Daredevil remained unfazed, but bowed his head to her, "Understood, KeeKee."
BeeBee blinked, and asked, "Did you break him? He's acting like a slave to you."
KeeKee huffed, "If the brute would rather cause damage to a lady's home and body then I'm not gonna complain."
But Daredevil shot out, barking, "THOUGH HOW IS IT YOU LET THAT THING SLIP IN?! I THOUGHT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE SECURITY OF THIS HOTEL!"
"I"M THE SPIRIT OF THE HOTEL! AND WITH HOW EVERYONE WAS FREAKING OUT OVER B AND LOONA! I'D GIVE SOM WARNING BUT SHE JUST CHASED THE POOR LITTLE THING FOR NOT B'S FAULT!" KeeKee shot back with a hiss.
Bee backed away a little, as he said, "I feel I should be out of this conversation."
"Yeah…" His siblings said agreeing with their brother mimicking his motion.
Though while the guard dog and the hotel spirit were shouting, nobody noticed something eerie beginning within the Hotel. The clock was slowly reaching the hand, as it was 11:59pm. But the clock glowed an eerie blue green as it struck midnight. During the twelve chimes of the clock, the house slowly grew veins all over with the same eerie blue glow... and then faded, as a calm chuckle echoed out within the empty halls. The inhabitance unaware of what was to come.

So that concludes this chapter. Seems like Lydia has her own cute little buddy… and it came with siblings.
Daredevil showed his prowess as a Protector of the Hotel too. And we gave it an homage to one of the best Godzilla films I saw.
