Jay and Moose sat on their couch, visibly tense, as the gang slowly trickled into their apartment. First came Veronica Lodge and Gabriel, followed by Betty Cooper, then Archie Andrews and Jughead Jones. Cheryl Blossom strutted in next, flanked by Toni Topaz, Kevin Keller, and Tabitha Tate. Josie McCoy arrived with Valerie Brown and Melody Thornton, all of them carrying the weight of their recent troubles. Reggie Mantle was the last to arrive, still looking pale after his heart attack at Pop's.
Jay stood up and addressed the group. "Thank you all for coming. I know we're all going through a lot right now, but I thought it'd help to get everyone together and figure out what's going on."
Moose chimed in, placing a comforting hand on Jay's shoulder. "We can't ignore that something strange is happening. It's like ever since we watched that solar eclipse, everything has gone to hell."
Veronica crossed her arms and sighed. "You're telling me. Gabriel and I have been dealing with Hiram nonstop. He's been pulling all his old tricks, trying to sabotage my businesses. And now this…" She gestured to the general atmosphere of dread.
Betty leaned forward. "Jay, Moose, we all need to be on the same page. These bad lucks… they're not normal. Let's go through everything. Maybe we can find a pattern."
Jay nodded. "Let's start with Jughead and Tabitha."
Tabitha's voice trembled as she spoke. "Jughead hasn't been talking to me. It's like he's just… checked out. We had a fight this morning, and I told him I wanted a divorce."
The room fell silent. Jughead, sitting on the arm of a chair, ran a hand through his messy hair. "It's not like I'm ignoring her for fun. I've been stressed, okay? Writing hasn't been going well, and I'm trying to figure things out."
Archie raised an eyebrow. "You don't shut out the person you love, Jughead. Tabitha's been there for you through everything."
Jughead glared at him. "Thanks for the advice, Arch. Real helpful."
"Enough," Moose said firmly, his deep voice cutting through the tension. "This isn't just about you two. Let's keep going."
Jay looked at Reggie. "How are you holding up?"
Reggie shrugged weakly. "How do you think I'm holding up? I had a heart attack, Jay. At Pop's. I've never been so scared in my life."
Kevin patted Reggie's shoulder. "You've been under so much stress, Reggie. It's no wonder your body gave out."
Veronica added, "Reggie, you need to take care of yourself. We can't lose you."
Reggie offered a faint smile. "Thanks, V. But it's not just me. Betty, what happened with the hit-and-run?"
Betty looked down, her hands shaking. "I… I don't know how it happened. I was driving to meet Alice, and suddenly there was this high schooler. I swear I didn't see them. Now Alice is blaming me, saying I need therapy."
Cheryl rolled her eyes. "Typical Alice. Blaming you instead of being supportive."
"Cheryl," Toni warned softly, placing a hand on Cheryl's arm.
Jay interjected, "What about you, Cheryl? You mentioned facing Natalie Manning at Pop's."
Cheryl's eyes flashed. "Don't even get me started. Natalie has been a nightmare. She's harassed me, insulted me, and when I confronted her, she had the audacity to play the victim. I don't understand why she's still in Riverdale."
"She's toxic," Toni added. "And she seems to enjoy causing chaos."
Archie sighed. "Speaking of chaos, I've got my own mess to deal with. Uncle Frank showed up with IRS penalty papers. Apparently, I owe a fortune I didn't even know about."
Veronica frowned. "Archie, how is that possible? Weren't your taxes handled after your dad passed?"
"I thought so," Archie said, running a hand through his hair. "But apparently not. Frank's furious, and I don't know how to fix it."
Josie crossed her arms. "And meanwhile, my band is falling apart. Melody's car got totaled, and Valerie and I had a fight over something Josie barely even remembers. It's like the eclipse cursed us all."
Jay exhaled heavily. "Okay. So we've got strained relationships, accidents, financial problems, and people like Natalie Manning adding fuel to the fire. Does anyone else feel like this is connected?"
The room fell silent as the gang exchanged glances. Tabitha finally spoke. "It has to be. This can't all be random."
Moose nodded. "Agreed. But what do we do about it?"
Cheryl flipped her hair dramatically. "We confront the bad energy head-on. Whether it's Natalie Manning, Hiram Lodge, or whoever else is trying to mess with us."
Toni added, "And we stick together. Whatever's happening, we're stronger as a team."
Jay looked around the room, his expression determined. "Then that's what we'll do. No more bad luck is going to tear us apart."
The gang nodded, a sense of unity washing over them. Despite their challenges, they were in this together, ready to face whatever came next.
