The next afternoon, Jay Halstead and Moose Mason, along with their kids Kit and Sweetie Halstead-Mason, decided to visit Veronica Lodge at their former apartment complex. As they drove, memories of their time living there flooded back. Jay and Moose shared a smile, reminiscing about when Jay lived across from Moose's apartment unit.
"Remember when you bought beers for us and we ended up kissing?" Moose asked, a twinkle in his eye.
Jay laughed, "Yeah, that was unexpected but amazing."
They pulled up to the familiar building and knocked on Veronica's apartment door. Veronica opened it with a wide smile, thrilled to see them and the kids. "Come in, come in!" she exclaimed, ushering them inside.
As they stepped into the apartment, Moose looked around. "Your place hasn't changed much, except for a few new things," he commented.
Veronica raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Like what?"
Moose pointed at the bright, bold pillows on the sofa. "Like those pillows. They're new, right?"
Veronica laughed. "Yes, Gabriel and I bought those recently. We wanted something to brighten up the place."
Jay noticed a Spongebob Squarepants pillow on the living room sofa. "That one's different," he said, pointing at it.
Veronica smiled. "That belongs to Briana. She loves Spongebob. Speaking of which, what are your favorite scenes and characters from the show?"
They spent a few minutes chatting about Spongebob Squarepants, sharing laughs and fond memories. Veronica then poured chardonnay for Jay and Moose. "So, how's your marriage and the reconciliation going?" she asked.
Jay and Moose exchanged a loving glance before Jay answered, "We're doing great. It's been wonderful to reconnect."
Veronica nodded. "I'm happy for you both. As for me, Gabriel and I are doing well. Though, to my surprise, his ex-fiancée Camille from Paris moved into an apartment here in Riverdale. She seems... shady."
Jay furrowed his brow. "What do you mean by shady? And who is Camille?"
Veronica sighed. "Camille is from Gabriel's past. She has a way of manipulating situations to her advantage."
Just then, Gabriel emerged from the bathroom, greeting Jay and Moose warmly. "Hey! Great to see you both."
Jay smiled. "Where are Kit and Sweetie?"
"They're playing with Briana in her room," Gabriel replied.
Jay seized the opportunity. "Gabriel, what's the deal with Camille? Why is she here?"
Gabriel sighed deeply. "Camille is complicated. She moved here under the guise of a fresh start, but she's already causing trouble. I suspect she has ulterior motives."
They all reacted with concern, but the conversation shifted back to lighter topics. Moose turned to Jay, hesitating. "Jay, I want to apologize to Veronica about using her and Betty as excuses to hide during our rough patch."
Jay nodded, his expression gentle. "I'm not angry anymore, Moose."
Moose took a deep breath and faced Veronica. "I'm sorry for the past mess, for using you and Betty as excuses when Jay and I were having marriage troubles."
Veronica placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I forgive you, Moose. Just remember, don't hide yourself. Be open and honest."
Jay smiled warmly, feeling the love and understanding in the room. He leaned in and kissed Moose, a tender moment that Veronica and Gabriel watched with approval.
They soon bid farewell to Veronica and Gabriel, feeling lighter and more connected than before. As they left the apartment, Kit and Sweetie joined them, their faces glowing with happiness from playing with Briana.
Jay and Moose, with their kids in tow, headed to the Cooper House to visit Betty. Their journey of reconciliation and love was far from over, but with each step, they grew stronger together, ready to face whatever the future held.
