Blitz opened his eyes as he heard the sound of falling rocks, his eyesight blurry but slowly stabilizing. He found himself covered in debris and coughing from the smoke. Thankfully, the debris wasn't too heavy, so he was able to dig himself out. Instead of finding himself in the altar room, he instead was in a room with the ceiling and half the walls blown up, with the floor covered in rubble. The surrounding area was also covered in thick smoke, making it difficult to see even a couple of feet in front of him. This felt a bit nostalgic to Blitz, as this wasn't his first time surviving an explosion, and he didn't seem to even get so much as a scratch on him this time, or so it looked to him.

He then traversed over pieces of the temple, shouting for his coworkers. "Millie, Moxxie, O, you out there!?" He said before coughing yet again. The main thing he worried about was Octavia. M could handle themselves fine, but Octavia was new to this situation. If anything had happened to her, there was no way he could forgive himself.

"We're over here, Blitz!" He heard Moxxie say. He immediately followed the voice, silently praying to Satan or whatever god was listening that Octavia was ok. After shuffling and climbing through some debris, he eventually found Millie and Moxxie pulling someone out of the rubble. To his absolute dread, he saw that the person they were pulling out was Octavia. The couple was able to get her out completely, but that didn't stop Blitz from fearing the worst.

He wasted no time in running toward his stepdaughter. "O!" He shouted as he looked for any injuries on Octavia, who was still standing, albeit covered in dust. "Are you ok, no cuts or broken bones!?"

"I'm fine." Octavia said before coughing out the dust in her throat. "Nothing's broken, barely even a scratch."

"Oh, thank Satan." Blitz said, his worries washing away as he gave her the biggest hug he could muster. "If anything happened to you, I-"

"I said I'm fine, don't worry." She said as she patted his head. Just then, the gang heard a voice from nearby.

"Hey, get us outta here!" They heard it shout. The crew followed it to what was once the entrance to the room, but was now a broken doorway covered in rubble. Through a small hole they could see Rufo peaking out. "Aw crap, it's you guys."

"Is it Millie and Moxxie's group?" A voice said, which M recognized as Wraith's. This made them run closer to the debris pile.

"We're here Wraith!" Moxxie said. "Are you ok!?"

Now Wraith was peeking through the hole. "We're fine, but we're trapped in here. Vi can't do anything because she's stuck!" Wraith backed away so the crew could look inside their cramped area. Diago was nowhere to be seen, but in the back was Vi on her back stuck under 2 tipped-over pillars. She did her best to push them up, but due to how much they weighed combined with the debris on top of it made that a struggle for her, which was even visible on her face.

"Why don't you ask your boss for help?" Blitz said with an uninterested tone in his voice. Just then, they heard the sound of rocks falling from behind them. Turning around, they saw Diago with Wesley's head in their arm.

"Fuck." Diago said, noticing the eyes on him. He was hoping to sneak past them, but now he actually had to book it to a hole in the wall that led outside. "You're not getting this head!" Diago said as he ran to the hole.

"Wait, Boss, what about us!?" Rufo shouted.

"Sorry, guys." Diago said. "I have to put the business first! But I'll make sure you're remembered!"

"You fucking cocksucker!" Rufo replied.

"He's getting away with our paycheck!" Blitz said as he pointed his gun at Diago with the intent of chasing after him.

"Wait!" Millie said. "We can't just leave 'em trapped in there!"

"And why shouldn't we?" Octavia said. "They're our rivals, and they tried to kill us!"

"Only because their boss told 'em too!"

"Look, I understand one of them's your friend, but if we don't catch up with them now, we don't get paid!"

Everyone then turned to the boss still inside. "What do we do, Blitz!?" Millie said.

"Shut up, I'm thinking!" Blitz shouted as he watched Diago running out of the destroyed temple and into the jungle. He now had a decision to make. Diago was getting away with the head, and he wanted desperately to catch him, steal the head, and win the bet. It wasn't just about money, it was about proving that I.M.P was the best… and for an excuse to flex on the asshole rival boss.

But one look at Rufo through that hole, and he saw a look he was all too familiar with. A look that showed anger, but also extreme heartbreak… the look of someone who had been betrayed. He could tell that Wraith was feeling the same thing too. Suddenly, something he had said back with Paimon played back in his head.

"...all that I knew was if I left him alone in that situation, I wouldn't be any better than the people that left me!"

In that moment, Blitz had made his choice.

He cursed under his breath before approaching the rubble prison. "Help me dig these guys out!" Blitz said as he lifted a piece of debris off of the pile. Millie and Moxxie smiled at him before joining in on the digging. Octavia wanted to argue, but knew that it would be futile, so she bit her beak and helped out the rest of them.

The crew was lucky enough to not cause an avalanche of rubble as they dug through enough to create an opening for Rufo and Wraith to escape. Now here came the hard part, getting Vi out. Thankfully, Blitz had a plan for that. "Mills, help the Chimera lift that thing!"

Millie nodded before running next to her and helped her lift the pillar up, pushing against it with her back. Thanks to her, the weight that Vi felt was lighter now, and they even got to push the pillars a bit higher up. But it still wasn't enough. Blitz then pulled out his phone and dialed into it.

"Loona, we need you to open a portal to us now!" Blitz said into his phone. "And you know that filing cabinet we just bought!? Get ready to push it through to here once you open the portal." A minute after he hung up, said portal opened up behind him, and he was greeted with Loona pushing a gray filing cabinet toward him. Once it landed on Earth ground, Blitz began to lift it as he asked for help, with Moxxie, Octavia, and Wraith answering the plea. They moved it directly under the pillars between Millie and Vi. After setting it down, they backed up.

"Ok," Blitz said. "On the count of three, you two are gonna let go and book it. You got me!?"

"I don't… have… a choice, do I?" Vi said, still struggling from the weight of the pillars.

"Not if you wanna get out of here. On three: one, two, THREE!" The moment he shouted the number, Millie and Vi released the pillar which, instead of falling onto them, was still held up by the strength of the filing cabinet. But they could tell it was struggling thanks to the sounds it made and the top drawer being forced open due to the pressure. Because of this, Vi wasted no time crawling out of her space under the thing that had trapped her and running towards everyone. Eventually, the cabinet gave way and the pillars, along with the debris on top of it, came crumbling down.

By this time, everyone had already entered the portal back to their office, where everyone coughed out the dust from inside the destroyed temple. Once Diago's crew was finished checking up on one another, they all turned to Blitz. "You saved us." Rufo said, completely surprised that anyone, much less their rivals, would do anything like that for them.

Blitz was pissed, not only did he lose their pay, but they also lost a new filing cabinet thanks to them. He wanted to insult them so bad, but one look at them and he saw how grateful they were to him just from how they looked at him. It gave him an odd feeling, a feeling that felt pretty good, one that almost made up for the lost bet and filing cabinet. "I-it was nothing." Blitz eventually replied.

"Sure as hell wasn't nothing." Vi said.

He was about to counter that, but another look at the grateful smiles of the people he saved and Blitz didn't say a word. And once again he had that good feeling, which felt twice as good with what he thought about next. "What say we go pay the client a visit?"

"But we didn't-" Moxxie stopped once he realized what he was doing. "Ooooohhhhhhh." He gave a little grin to his boss.

Diago had just collected the dark red emerald from their client, Nigel, outside of the Diago's Awesome Assassins headquarters. Just as he was admiring it, Blitz's van pulled up right next to him. Nigel could tell where this was going, so he stepped back.

"Well, well, well, look who decided to show up after all." Diago said with a smirk. "Come to bitch at me like the little bitch baby you are?" Blitz didn't say anything nor stop smiling, he just let the side of his van open up, revealing Wraith, Rufo, and Vi, all of which gave him a death glare.

Diago immediately lost his grin. "... oh shit." He said to himself. His vengeful employees began to walk toward him, so he put on a fake smile with the hopes of winning them over. "H-hey guys, you made it out alive! I knew you guys had it-" He was soon interrupted by a punch to the gut by Rufo. "... ok, I probably deserved that, but-" interrupted again by a punch to the face by Wraith with their mechanical right arm. The hit was strong enough to knock him on the ground. "Ow!" He rubbed his jaw. "Did you have to hit me with the fucking robot arm!"

"You left us to die!" Rufo shouted.

"No, I didn't!" Diago said as he got back up on his feet. "I was… I was testing you! I wanted to make sure you guys had the determination to work for me, and you passed!"

"A test for us!?" Vi said, which made Diago brace just in case there was a punch coming. "If anything, we should've been testing you to see if we should still work here. You keep showing us off like we're fucking trophies, and this is how you treat us!"

"Look, I-"

"Save it!" Wraith said. "We quit." They and the others began walking away.

"C'mon, guys!" Diago said. "I promise I'll do better! Rufo, my sister turned brother from another mother, you like this job, right!?" Rufo just groaned and continued walking. "Tell you what, I'll give you all a raise! C'mon, don't be like that." His former coworkers just ignored him. "Lucifer Morningstar, no one wants to work anymore!"

"If they had shitty bosses like you, I don't blame them." Blitz said as he approached him with a Hellbucks coffee cup in his hand.

"And what do you-" Once again he was interrupted, this time by Blitz's finger on his mouth.

"Shush! I'm gonna talk, and you're gonna listen!" Blitz removed his finger from Diago's mouth. "You can have all the fancy bathrooms and endorsements you want, but if you treat your people like shit, they're gonna piss all over you. I get it, we're in Hell, so it's hard to trust each other, but if you don't have that with your employees, you've got nothing. Worse than nothing, actually, you'll get people who'll wish you dead every day and won't come to help you when you need it.

"And I'll admit, I was once like you in a way, thinking I could do whatever I wanted to the people that worked for me. Now I…" he took a look at Millie and Moxxie, who were standing behind him. "I admit I was a little too involved with their lives, and I was way too harsh on one of them sometimes when they didn't deserve it." He then turned back to Diago. "It's a process I'm working on, and let me tell you it's hard. Sometimes the old me comes back in, or I forget I'm on this journey in the first place. But let me tell you, this road has brought me more happiness than any of the shit I tried to do in the past, which only made it worse."

Diago was absolutely confused. "You're a weird fucking dude."

"The point is, you might've won, but I'm still better than you. And I don't need Katie Killjoy's endorsement to prove that. And another thing…" Blitz opened up his cup and dumped coffee in between his legs.

Embarrassed, Diago covered the wet spot on his pants. "Oh, what the fuck!?"

"I'd rather be a bitch baby, than a piss baby."

Diago's face grew redder with fury. This, combined with his employees quitting, would cement that name into his brain. "Y'know what, whatever the fuck you just said, doesn't matter. I still got the gem, and once I go change my pants, I'm pawning this baby off, and get way more souls than you can imagine!" Diago then quickly walked into the building. Blitz turned to his coworkers, who were just as surprised at what he had said.

"That was…" Millie said.

"A lot? I know."

"It's good." Moxxie said. "It's just… not something I'd imagine you saying."

"Yeah, I'll admit it was more for me than for him. Although I couldn't resist calling him a piss baby."

Millie and Moxxie laughed. "Yeah, that was good." The latter said. Blitz could see from the corner of his eye Diago's former assassins looking back at him. Once again, they gave him a smile before continuing to walk away. Blitz couldn't help but smirk, wishing the best for them.

"Excuse me," A voice from behind him said. He turned around to see Nigel. "Blitz, was it? I… couldn't help but overhear all of that commotion."

Blitz's eyes widened as he said that. "Aw fuck, you heard all of that!? Look, nobody else needs to know what I just said, it's embarrassing."

"No, no, it's not embarrassing at all. I found it moving, actually."

"You did?"

Nigel nodded, "I'm going to be honest with you, Blitz. That gem I just gave Diago, it's a fake."

"... a what?"

"It's a paperweight I bought for 2 souls at a gift shop. I was going to use it to bamboozle one of you into killing him for free. But after your speech I… can't help but feel I was partially responsible for Wesley killing me. We were both selfish, and I would've done the same in his shoes. Perhaps things could've been different. Regardless, it feels wrong to leave you empty-handed, so here."

Nigel brought his wallet and pulled out 600 souls, which he gave to Blitz. "I was going to celebrate Wesley's death with that, but I think you deserve it more than I."

Blitz counted the money in his hand with glee. "Wow… I don't know what to say. Wait a minute, yeah I do, thanks for the money! And if you did try to screw me over, sinner or not, I would've fucked you over hard. So don't you try that shit again."

"Oh, don't worry, I wouldn't dare do that to you again. But alas, I must be off." Nigel then walked away from the imps, who were now 600 souls richer.

The Next Day

Blitz was sitting in his office filing paperwork for clients. So far things were business as usual, no one was calling to cancel and he didn't hear a peep from Diago or his business. Maybe what Blitz said finally sunk into him… or not. Honestly, the less Blitz heard about Diago the better, although it would've been funny to see his face when he realized the gem was a fake.

Just then, he heard Loona through the speaker on his desk. "Hey, Dad." She said. "We've got some people wanting to see you."

"Are they clients?" Blitz replied.

"Not really."

"Well, what do they want?"

"... they want to work with us."

Confused, Blitz got up from his desk and into the lobby where, to his surprise, he saw Wraith, Rufo, and Vi standing in front of Loona's desk. Once they noticed Blitz enter, they turned to him. "We were wondering if you had any positions open." Wraith said.

Blitz grinned, "Well, you're all in luck, a few just opened up."
