3 Days Later
"Are you going on the royal hunt, Princess?" Mira asked as she combed through Visenya's long blonde hair, before she started to braid it. Later in the day, most of the Royal Family, along with Olenna, Margaery, and most of the Tyrells were to go on the hunt per the King's request.
Visenya shrugged. "If I had a choice, I'd rather be stuck in here with my books, than be in the presence of Joffrey."
"Perhaps the hunt could be fun?" Mira wondered aloud as she weaved Visenya's hair. "Everyone will be there. Ser Jaime will be dissapointed if you are not there."
"Why are you so obsessed with my relationship with the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard?" Visenya frowned.
Mira shrugged. "I see the way he looks at you. Especially during Court. He won't take his eyes off you...even when he's supposed to be guarding the King."
"He's probably wondering if I would in fact kill Joffrey." Visenya mused with an eye roll.
"I think otherwise." Mira smiled. "My brother Rodrik acted the same way to a girl he liked when he was younger...though I don't know if he's still in contact with her."
Visenya hummed in thought as Mira finished braiding her hair, and was about to ask Mira about her family, as she didn't know much about the girl, but was interrupted by Sansa coming into the room.
"Lady Sansa." Mira smiled giving her a nod.
Sansa smiled. "Lady Mira."
Visenya turned to Sansa. "What's wrong?"
Sansa sighed. "We are to attend the hunt...all of us...every person in the Red Keep."
"On who's command?" Visenya replied.
"Joffrey's."
Visenya groaned in annoyance standing up from her chair, and walking over to the wardrobe and pulling out riding clothes.
"Will I have to kill something?" Sansa asked with slight fear, crouching on the floor to pet Maegor, who was laying at Mira's feet.
Visenya shook her head. "I won't let Joffrey torment you, and neither will your Lord Husband. If Joffrey tries anything...the both of us will ensure that you are protected...Brienne will not leave your side."
Sansa nodded before walking out of her room, to allow for Visenya to get dressed. Once Visenya was dressed, she made her way into the courtyard, and followed the royal caravan into the woods to ensure for the hunt to begin. Visenya didn't want to go on the hunt at all, as she didn't want to see Joffrey harming animals...the boy was truly a sadist in her mind.
Once they arrrived to the grounds were they were setting up camp, Visenya ensured that Sansa was guarded at all times by someone, in case Joffrey tried anything.
"Will you be near her?" Visenya asked as she walked alongside Tyrion, both following Sansa and Brienne as she walked the grounds.
He nodded. "Of course, I won't let him harm Sansa. Especially in this environment. With Lady Brienne guarding her as well, the boy would be foolish to try something."
"Agreed." Visenya nodded. "Is it true, he wanted to serve Sansa her brother's head at his wedding feast?"
Tyrion sighed. "The thoughts that go through that boy's mind will never fail to shock me. My father and I both told him no...but his mother..."
"Cersei would think something like that would be funny." Visenya huffed in amusement.
"My sister is a cruel person." Tyrion explained. "She has taken a severe dislike to you."
"Why?" She asked glancing at him. "Because I hold more fire power than she does?"
"Because of the closeness you have to our brother." Tyrion said with a small smile, meeting the girl's gaze. "He has taken a liking to you."
Visenya shrugged. "We were stuck in the woods together for months, and I was the only one who treated him civilly for almost a year while he was in a cage...you learn a lot about each other in those situations."
"It is not that type of closeness." Tyrion replied making the girl stop in her tracks. "He talks about you...all the time. More so than he ever talked about Cersei...and Cersei's noticed."
"He still loves Cersei." Visenya immediately replied. "He wouldn't shut up about her."
"And now he won't shut up about you." He immediately replied.
She rolled her eyes and shook off the comments as she continued to walk through the camp. Eventually, Joffrey made a speech about how great he felt, watching the rest of King's Landing watch in glory at the Crown, while they made their way to the grounds. Visenya rolled her eyes in annoyance and shook her head in disbelief at how little the boy cared for the small folk. It was truly disgusting how self-centered he was.
"You've got that look again." Jaime whispered to her as he stood alongside her, still listening to Joffrey's speech.
"Forget Aerys...he's Maegor the Cruel." Visenya mused with a small smirk.
"So he's similar to your wolf?" Jaime sarcastically asked. "I expected a better analogy from you, Princess."
She smirked as she turned to meet his gaze. "At least he he never learned how to use wildfire."
He chuckled. "Very true."
Silence fell over them as they watched Joffrey continue to speak...about nothing...but him.
"Are you going to hunt?" He asked in curiosity.
She shrugged. "Since the little heathen dragged me out here, I might as well get the most out of it."
"Bow or sword?"
"You already know my answer." She smiled meeting his gaze again.
"Let he hunt begin!" Joffrey declared making most people cheer in excitement.
Just as Visenya was walking to her horse, with her bow in hand, Joffrey stopped her.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked in annoyance.
She turned around with annoyance in her eyes. "On the hunt Your Grace, is it not the purpose why we are all here?"
"You are not permitted to go on the hunt." He immediately replied.
"What do you mean she's not allowed?" Jaime and Tyrion asked in disbelief from the position on their horses.
Joffrey smirked. "She's not allowed for the comments she made."
"She is the best archer in the North, and you are not allowing her to join us because she made you cry?" Tyrion asked with a slight laugh.
"She's the best option to catching Stag's." Jaime mused giving Visenya a small smile.
"The King, commands her to stay." Joffrey demanded before turning back to Visenya. "Unless, she prefers for her dragons to be hunted instead."
Visenya raised an eyebrow in defiance as Joffrey smirked before turning around, walking away from her. She immediately looked to Tyrion and Jaime.
"If you come across a bear...make sure he gets eaten first." She smirked before walking away making both men stifle their laughter.
After the hunt began, Visenya found herself in the presence of Olenna, in the main tent, listening to the various stories of Highgarden be passed around. Margaery and Cersei were at the other end of the tent, speaking to various Ladies of the realm that attended the hunt. Sansa was with them, as they had lemon cakes, which were Sansa's favorite.
"Do perk up, my dear." Olenna began. "You look like I've just murdered your direwolf."
"She wanted to attend the hunt, Lady Olenna." Mira explained. "The King commanded her to stay."
Olenna rolled her eyes. "And when has Visenya Targaryen ever played by the rules? When has any Targaryen played by the rules?"
"He threatened my dragons." Visenya explained sitting up straighter. "And I can't lose them."
Olenna nodded. "Understandable my dear, but you need to show the King not to defy you. You defy him."
"And too much defiance can place me in the dungeons." She immediately replied.
The older woman huffed in annoyance. "You are too similar to that of every single Targaryen I've ever met."
"In what way?"
Olenna leaned forward. "You're stubborn."
"And what do you wish me to do?" Visenya asked in annoyance. "Go out, kill a stag, and prove that I should've gone with them."
Olenna smirked and leaned back in her seat, clutching onto her goblet of wine. "Exactly."
Visenya smirked in response as she stood up from her seat and walked out of the tent, getting a glare from Cersei as she did.
But Visenya didn't care.
She was going to kill a stag.
Whether Joffrey liked it or not.
8 Hours Later
The group returned from the hunt, with no stags, boars, or bears with them. They were unlucky. As soon as they rode back in Cersei came to meet them, anger and fury heavily present in her eyes.
"What is it?" Tywin asked, still on his horse.
"Where is she?" Cersei gritted through her teeth.
"Be more specific, there are plenty maidens here." Tyrion said with sarcasm earning a glare from his sister, but a laugh from his brother.
"Visenya." The queen demanded. "Where is she?"
"She's not here?" Tywin asked.
"She left an hour after you all did. She hasn't been seen since."
"Maybe she's dead." Joffrey said with a laugh. "I'd finally have dragons."
"If she's dead, her sister in Essos, will come and burn down the entire city for revenge." Jaime explained. "And if you want to rule as long as Jaehaerys I, you do not want that to occur."
Joffrey frowned with anger. The more he learned about Visenya, the angered he became.
"FIND HER!" He ordered.
Tyrion and Jaime smirked as they watched various knights head back into the woods to look for the Targaryen Princess.
"That's what you get for telling her not to do something." Jaime smirked as he got off his horse.
But that comment only angered Cersei and Joffrey more.
Meanwhile
Visenya, now deep into the woods, a few miles away from the camp, lit her fire, and looked over to the dead stag, now lying by the fire. The only problem was that she had blood on her face, as she was attacked by a wild boar. She didn't want to bring back a boar, but she did kill it, using the dagger that Ned gave her.
She smiled at it as she laid back on the ground looking at the stars. As a child, Rhaegar would take her onto one of the balconies of the Red Keep when she couldn't sleep, and sing to her, the lullaby that their ancestors would sing to calm down their dragons.
"Drakari pykiros, tīkummo jemiros, yn lantyz bartossa, saelot vāedis." Visenya sang quietly, knowing her dragons were miles away. "Hen ñuhā elēnī:, perzyssy vestretis, se gēlȳn irūdaks. Ānogrose."
Visenya immediately fell asleep not finishing the lullaby.
The Next Day
It was mid-afternoon as they began to pack up the camp. The guards returned early in the morning without Visenya, only searching around the edge of the camp, and areas of the woods that the hunting party went into. No one had seen Visenya since the previous afternoon, leading some to believe in truth that the Princess was dead. Many however did not want that to be true, as they did not want to see Joffrey 'excited' over a girl's death.
That was cruel.
"Perhaps the rumors are true." Tyrion mused to his brother. "Maybe she is dead."
"I'll believe it when I see her dead body." Jaime replied. "No body, therefore she is not dead."
"I know you care for her, but you need to be prepared..." Tyrion trailed off seeing a horse and rider at the edge of the camp. "Is that-"
"Senya." Jaime immediately whispered.
Tyrion hadn't even finished his sentence, before his brother started bolting towards the horse and rider. Mira and Sansa, who noticed Jaime start running toward the edge of the camp, started running after him as well, as they immediately figured out it was Visenya, based on his reaction.
Visenya got off her horse, and threw the stag on the ground at Jaime's feet once he caught up to her.
"What were you thinking?" He asked in disbelief. "They thought you were dead! We all were worried!"
That's when he noticed the blood on her.
He frowned. "What happened?"
Visenya shrugged before smiling.
"I caught a stag."
He huffed in amusement and shook his head, as she walked past him and threw the camp, getting looks from all of the people in the camp. Joffrey looked at her in disbelief as she dragged the dead stag's body through the camp with pride.
That only angered him more.
She did something he couldn't.
She was better than him at something.
He didn't like it.
Olenna saw the girl walking with pride and smiled in response watching as the girl, let go of the stag in front of Joffrey, Cersei, and Tywin, before heading toward a bathing tent to irradiate the blood on her face. Margaery noticed her grandmother's reaction to the princess and frowned.
"You like her, don't you Grandmother?" Margaery questioned.
Olenna's smile widened as she turned to her granddaughter. "My dear, she is quite flawless."
