Chapter 2: A quirk that rules the world

"Like I was saying, I am DIO, the greatest man this world has ever witnessed. Now, you two must explain what's going on."

"W-well, I am Izuku M-Midoriya. You are a guest in my… head?"

"A guest? What does that even mean? I don't recall being invited here. You must release me immediately!"

"I don't think that's possible, Dio." Kira butted into the conversation.

"What? Why the hell not?" DIO asked while trying to suppress his surprise.

"Take a look at this paper. It's the rule set of this place."

DIO quickly skimmed through the given paper, and then he tore it into pieces and started laughing manically.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! You think you can hold ME hostage? Use my power?" DIO pointed at the kid. "No, I've already had arrogant child steal my stand ability. I will not let that happen again. You will release me RIGHT NOW or I will tear you apart!"

Green head was too terrified to answer; instead he walked behind KIra, hoping that he can calm the newcomer down. Kira, while unsettled, was able to maintain composure.

"Listen, Dio. I don't like being here anymore than you do, but screaming will not help. This place has security measures to prevent violence. Go ahead, summon your stand. It will not work."

"You dare doubt me, DIO?" Now he sounded more irritated than angry. "The World!"

Nothing happened. DIO tried to call it again and again, but result remained the same.

"I told you it wouldn't work. I tried calling my stand for 20 minutes to no avail. Whatever force brought us here must be suppressing our stands."

"I see." DIO said calmly before looking at the child. "Well, Izuku Midoriya, I am impressed. You have managed to imprison ME, and now you want to dwell on MY powers for your own benefit."

"P-please, don't say it like that! I-I can't even control this ability myself. I wouldn't have trapped anyone willingly."

DIO remained silent for a while. Then he started talking again.

"All right. I suppose I am stuck here for the time being. Now, do you want to use my incredible power?"

Izuku silently nodded.

"Fine, but know this. I am a vampire, and that means I need blood to stay in good shape. And I mean human blood, not filthy animal blood."

"I don't think we need food or drinks to survive." Kira entered the dialogue again. "During my first day I ate nothing at all and felt no hunger. I think food is just a form of entertainment here."

"Really? DIO was flabbergasted. "Well, it doesn't matter. Regular food doesn't taste nearly as good as fresh blood, especially from youth."

"Di-Dio-san, I can't drink someone blood" Izuku started crying again. "People will call me a villain!"

"Big deal. You wouldn't care about what weaklings say if you had my kind of power."

"May be I should just stay with Kira-san's Killer Queen?" Izuku thought to himself, forgetting that both blondes can still hear him "He doesn't seem like a bad person to me." Kira couldn't help but smile at the irony.

"You have got to be kidding me!" DIO was furious yet again. "Ok, kiddo, how about this? I'll let you use The World for a whole day. Think of it as a free trial. I guarantee that you will sing differently once you have seen its might first hand."

Once again, Izuku answered with a nod. It would take some time before he could get used to his new guest.

Alarm went off. Izuku tried to turn it off with his quirk, consciously this time. A yellow figure appeared from his body and turned off the alarm. It looked similar the divers he saw on TV because of the tanks on its back and tubes connecting the tanks to the helmet.

"You must be The World!" Izuku waved at his quirk smiling. Then he noticed that his skin was paler than usual.

"Oh no! Did I turn into a vampire?" Izuku ran to the nearest mirror and was relieved to see his reflection.

"That's not how it works, kiddo. I was able to see my reflection just fine. If you want to be sure, check your teeth." DIO's voice told him.

To Izuku's horror, he gained unusually large fangs.

"Dio, you just said that mirror thing isn't true. Now I'm curious. What is true about vampires?" Kira asked DIO.

"It's true that sunlight or more specifically, ultraviolet light kills us very quickly. However, that's pretty much the only negative. We are everlasting and powerful. We can regenerate from the wounds that would be fatal to humans. There are other abilities, but they are obsolete when you have a stand like mine."

"What does your stand do, Dio-sama?" Izuku was curious as well.

"It has the power to stop time." DIO proudly exclaimed.

"Wow, that's epic! How do I do it?"

"First, you need to look at something with constant movement to see the time stop's effect for yourself."

"I have an idea!" Izuku said before running to the bathroom and turning on the sink.

"Imagine time as two rotating gears." DIO whispered in his ear.

"All right. Now what?"

"Great. Now imagine that's you are grabbing those gears with The World's hands and grinding them both to a halt."

"Ok. Gears, grab, grinding to a halt…" Suddenly a strange feeling resonated within Izuku's body. He noticed that for a moment, the flow of water stopped. This moment didn't last even half a second, but it was definitely there.

"This is amazing!" Izuku screamed with joy.

"What is amazing?" Inko asked her son as she entered the room.

"Mom, look! My quirk has a new form now! I call it The World!"

"I am glad for you. Wait, what happened to your skin?" Her tone went from cheerful to deeply concerned.

"I think I am a vampire now." Izuku scratched the back of his head in embarrassment.

"No!" Inko's tone became dreadful. "Please, tell me it is transformation type and not mutation."

"Is it, Dio-san?" Izuku thought to DIO.

"I don't understand the meaning of her question."

"Right. She is asking if I can turn off my vampirism."

"I could never do it myself, but I remember one of the rules saying I can take my abilities back. May be that will work?"

"Please, try it, sir."

"Fine." DIO sighed. "I can't believe someone would willingly go back to being human. I call my abilities back."

Nothing changed. Now Izuku was just as worried as his mother. He didn't understand why she upset, but he knew it was for a good reason.

"Sorry, mom. I don't really understand how my quirk works yet. If I find a way to turn this off, I will let you know."

"Let's hope that doctor can help you with understanding, my dear." Mother said though her tears.

They had to wait until sunset to finally leave the house. Inko suggested using sunscreen and thick clothing, but DIO's warnings of potential death made Izuku's decision clear. Thankfully, the doctor was on good terms with the family. During the analysis, the child summoned The World and shocked the adults with its power. Even while restricted with a small body, it could easily life an adult male, juggle ten balls simultaneously and hit a bulls eye in darts every time. Izuku wanted to tell them about time stop, but DIO demanded for it to be a secret. As for his vampiric metamorphosis, the kid (after DIO's reassurance) asked the doctor to intentionally injure him, claiming to have super regeneration. That attempt was quickly shut down by his mother. She was more concerned about weaknesses of vampires. Just like DIO has claimed, silver, garlic and many other traditional tools were completely harmless to the boy. Even UV light wasn't bad as he feared. It still burned his skin quickly, but it didn't annihilate him instantly. Plus, the regeneration was, in fact, quite fast. When Izuku asked for blood (as innocently as he could), doctor gave him a pack of donor blood from the freezer. It tasted like frozen yogurt. They still couldn't find a way to disable the vampirism. When it came time to name the quirk, green head wanted it to be vague enough that it could fit both TW and KQ, so in the end he settled for "Imaginary Friend".

After they came home, Inko hugged her son and told him: "I will love you no matter what, Izuku. I was just hoping that you wouldn't get a villainous looking quirk or mutation. There are people that live by labels and stereotypes, my son. They will try to bully you, say mean things to you, but you should not let them get in your head. Don't think you are a bad person just because they tell you so, ok?"

"Ok, mom! I will not let you down!" Izuku hugged her back.

Kid convinced his mother to let him go and see his friends in the park. He knew that Kacchan hangs there during late evenings. He wanted to show him The World before going to bed.

When he arrived the park, he saw an injustice happening before his eyes. Bakugo and two of his pals were standing in front of a crying boy. Izuku knew he had to intervene.
