Chapter 2;modified:
(Quick note, Zeke refers to his aunt and uncles by their first names, Webs being the exception, mostly. I knew some of the names from the books, but I didn't know Snake's. Also, there's gonna be tons of references here, but I hope they're not too bothersome. Anyways, like I said, I hope you enjoy the chapters!)
It's been at least 5 months when Wolf took in Zeke and gotta say, it might be a little noisy on some parts. Zeke as playing his new rattle and each noise may seem louder than the last, "Heeheehee! Ratta-ratta!" He said, still struggling to speak.
As he was having fun, Shark began to groan; "That's so loud!" Webs covered her ears and angrily shouted: "Wolfy, get your kid!" Snake rolled his eyes silently saying "He's so annoying…!" Piranha, the only one who wasn't annoyed, smiled and tried to play along with Zeke "That looks like fun! Come on, let's make music, sobrino!" Webs shouted at Piranha to stop until Wolf stepped in. "Okay, okay. I've got it covered. Zekey." He said, who shouted to his dad and hugged his leg. Wolf smiled and patted his head and told him to go play in his room, but then Wolf smelled something. "Oh geez…You need a change, don't you?" Zeke responded with "Nuh-uh!" Obviously lying. "Kiddo, you know your diaper's not clean." Wolf affirmed. Zeke was embarrassed and blushed, Wolf then changed his diaper. Zeke immediately went back to being his joyful self, "Daddy, let's play race cars! Wolf loved that, "Sure, kiddo! Just give me a second to get ready!"
Race Car just meant go out for a drive, Wolf changed the license plates and put on a disguise.
(A few minutes later)
Shark saw Wolf in his outfit and asked "Where you two going?" Wolf looked over to the others, "Thought I'd take Zeke to get a milkshake. You know, typical pops-and-kid stuff." He said.
Snake rolled his eyes, annoyance evident. "You spoil that kid rotten, Wolf." He said, and Wolf rolled his eyes. "Oh, how about we go get milkshakes, Zekey?" Zeke's eyes lit up with delight. "Shakeys!" Wolf asked if the others wanted him to bring some back. Only one who didn't want one was Snake. He doesn't like cake AND milkshakes? Wolf thought; He needs to try sweets every once in a while.
(Later)
Wolf took his son out for a drive. Zeke was seated in his booster seat, seeing everything go by. Wolf being proud that he and his son have something in common.
"Now, anywhere else you wanna go today, kiddo?" Wolf asked, Zeke's eyes lit up and he just repeated: "Park! Park! Park!" Wolf chuckled at the boy's excitement, "Wow…Oh, okay! What did you wanna do over there?" Zeke held his Pabu plush in his hands, "There's a big tree there! And the playground!" Wolf smiled gently and said: "All right, son. We can go to the park. Oh! Forgot something…" Wolf pulled out his fake mustache and put it on. In the rearview mirror, he was admiring his looks. "Daddy, why do you wear a fake mustache?" Zeke asked, Wolf turned his attention back to the road as he answered.
"So I don't accidentally scare folks, you know?" He said, hoping that a toddler would agree with him. "Oh…but, why'd they be scared of you?" Zeke asked, not understanding. In his eyes, his father was nice and loving, why would someone be afraid? "I-I'll tell you when you're older, kiddo." Wolf merely said, looking a little downtrodden.
At the park, the air was calming. Zeke ran with his arms out as if he had wings—that, or he was Naruto running—take your pick. "Yeaaaaahhhhh!!" The baby shouted running around the playground. Wolf was trying to catch up with him, "Zeke, slow down!" He shouted. Zeke kept running ahead, "Nuh-uh! Rabbits have super speeed!!!" In the whole moment, Zeke was bursting with joy, with Wolf barely making it behind him with a look that said: "*sigh* Kids." Zeke stopped running and looked over at something.
He couldn't make out the shape, but he could see. It was a person, a man. Looked like he hadn't shaved and he smelled a bit like garbage. He started coughing. At first, Zeke didn't know to approach the man, asking if he needed help.
He grew upset, knowing that the man needed help. "Zekey? Everything okay?" Wolf caught up with his son and saw the sad look. "Daddy…Look…" Zeke pointed over at the homeless man, Wolf looked over at where his son pointed. He pouted when he understood and patted Zeke's head to comfort him.
Zeke looked at his dad and realized he felt his pocket, then he had an idea. "Daddy, give him money!" He exclaimed, sending Wolf into a bit of shock by the request. "W-What?" Wolf asked nervously, not sure what to make of the situation.
"Yeah, he needs money to get food and clean!" Zeke said, trying to reason with his dad. "Z-Zekey…" Wolf could barely say, what was he supposed to do? He wasn't a good guy, but Zeke didn't realize that or know. "Daddy, he needs it more than we do. Please?" Zeke bluntly said, almost upset at how long it's taking for his dad to do something. Wolf took a deep breath and tried to smile. "Okay, kiddo. Come on." Pulling out what dollar bills he had. Fortunately, he carries tons of one-hundreds with him when he goes out. The two walk up to the poor man, "Hey mister!" Zeke happily greeted! The homeless man looked nervous, not wanting a child to see him in such a state.
"O-Oh…Hello. D-Did you need something?" The man noticed the adult next to the child. Wolf pulled out his cash and tried to look charismatic. "No sir. But…We thought YOU could use something." Thankfully, Wolf counted the money before he went out. He put it out, "Here, I put it all together and it adds up to…400." The man was in shock, "Wh-What?! 400? S-Sir, that's very kind of you, but that's…" Zeke pulled out some extra money and handed them to the man as well. "Here you go." The man pushed their hands away and said, "But…But I can't take this much. H-How do I know this isn't some sort of trick?" Wolf kept his smooth-talker face on. "Sure ya can. We'll be fine." They handed their money to the man, he nervously smiled, but then realized that the money was real. "Th-Thank you!" He burst into tears of joy, Zeke then patted the man, "Use it to buy food and go get clean!" He said, kindly. "I will! Thank you for being so kind." The man had said, grateful for the gift the strangers gave him.
"You're welcome, mister!" Zeke said, happy that the man will go get the stuff he needs. "God Bless you both." The man said through his sniffles. Zeke giggled and said, "God Bless you, too!" Wolf smiled at Zeke. The past few months with Zeke and he understood that Zeke isn't a Bad Guy…But Wolf find himself okay with his son. "Uh…God Bless you. Ok, kiddo, we should get going." He said to the man as they left and Zeke. "Oh yeah, we gotta get shakeys!" The baby had said excitedly! Wolf remembered something the day he met Zeke, there was a cross necklace. Was his mom a Christian? Wolf wondered if that's why Zeke is so caring. He must remember his mother's Christian views.
(Later that night)
That night, Wolf and Zeke got back with the milkshakes for the others. Zeke had a great day. He had fun with his dad, played at a playground, and helped someone in need. All around a good day.
"Hey guys! How'd it go?" Shark welcomed them. Zeke was in his electric ball of energy. "We had fun, Uncle Lou! Me and Daddy ran a race at the park and I climbed a tree!" Piranha's eyes lit up at an idea: "Oh, we should have a tree climbing contest someday, sobrino!" Piranha and Zeke were practically in their own zone whenever they spoke. "Tch, Zeke you'd probably beat Piranha at that." Webs said to him, to which Piranha reacted in a aggressive way. "Hey, I got mad skills at climbing!" He said, folding his arms. "I'm trying to watch Tv over here, can you all shut up?" Snake had said. "Sorry…" The two of them had said. Wolf went ahead and put the milkshakes on the table. Zeke yawns, "Heh, looks like it's nap-time, buddy." Zeke whined, "But Daddy, I don't wanna go to bed yet." Wolf rubbed the boy's head.
"Come on, I'll leave your shake in the fridge. I think you need to get some rest." Zeke rubbed his eyes and went to his room. Wolf remembered to get his Pabu plush from the car and carried it with him. Zeke got in his bed and Wolf tucked him in, handing Pabu to Zeke. Wolf kissed his head and told him goodnight. "Night, Daddy. Love you." Zeke said as he laid into repose. "Love you too, Zekey." Wolf whispered to make sure he didn't wake up. Wolf thought of his son. He remembered to put the necklace he found in the drawer. There was a cross necklace attached to the letter Zeke's mother left his son. I guess some part of him was hoping his friends wouldn't find it and judge him or Zeke. Little did Wolf know, that this was only the beginning to this journey.
(End. Scene. Wow, this took a while, but I think I managed to establish a few things. The next chapter will have a time-skip, so we get to see Zeke when he's nine. Let me know if you like how I made his older-self to be. And remember to stay strong and awesome!)
