A/N: Sorry :(

Walter stood, the breeze subtly blowing at the short hair on the top for his head, his shoulders squared, his expression a study in calm determination. In his hands, he held a neatly folded piece of paper, though it remained untouched. The team sat before him, their faces varying degrees of solemn. Ralph sat closest to Walter, his face streaked with tears, his small hands gripping his knees as Paige rubbed his back soothingly. Sylvester sniffled into a tissue, his eyes puffy and red. Happy leaned back in her chair, her usual tough demeanor tempered with a quiet respect. Toby sat beside her, his hand resting on his chin, his face caught somewhere between amusement and reverence. Even Cabe stood at the back, his arms crossed loosely over his chest, his usual gruffness softened, his gaze steady on Walter.

Walter took a breath and began.

"As a team, we've faced some of the most impossible odds. We've stood together against challenges that most would shy away from. But today…" His voice wavered slightly. "Today, we face a different kind of loss. One that reminds us of our shared humanity, and the bonds that hold this family together."

Ralph sniffled loudly, his small shoulders shaking. Paige whispered softly trying to calm him.

"It's okay, honey. You can cry if you need to."

"He was my friend." Ralph's voice, so broken and innocent tugged at them all, as Paige pulled him close, wrapping her arms around him.

Walter's gaze flicked to Ralph, a rare tenderness softening his voice as he continued.

"Loss is inevitable. It's a constant, one we can measure, quantify, and analyze, but it still hurts. Today, we say goodbye to someone who was more than just a teammate. He was a part of our family. A friend to us all."

Sylvester let out a choked sob, and Toby reached over to pat his shoulder.

"It's okay, buddy." Toby said softly, though his lips twitched as though he were holding back something.

Walter pressed on, his tone steady, yet undeniably emotional.

"He may not have been the loudest voice in the room, but his presence was always felt. He was resourceful, brave, and, above all, loyal. No matter the situation, he found a way to contribute. To help us when we needed it most. To always be there for all of us."

Ralph wiped at his face, his voice barely audible.

"He always made me laugh."

Cabe cleared his throat, stepping forward slightly, patting Ralph's shoulder gently.

"He had a way of surprising you. I remember thinking he didn't belong here, that he'd just cause trouble. But he earned his place. He proved me wrong more times than I can count." He paused, his voice softening. "He had guts. I'll give him that."

Walter nodded in agreement.

"He did. He wasn't a genius, but he made an enormous impact. It's easy to overlook the contributions of someone who doesn't fit the conventional mold, but he was a reminder to all of us that no matter how caged we might feel, there's always a way to break free. To fight back."

Cabe's jaw tightened as he gave a brief, almost imperceptible nod. The room fell silent for a moment, the reverie of Walter's words hanging in the air.

Paige broke the stillness, her voice warm but trembling.

"Walter, keep going. You're doing great."

Walter took a deep breath, his hands tightening on the paper before he set it down entirely, choosing to speak from the heart.

"Ferret Bueller wasn't just a pet. He was a part of this team. He taught us resilience, adaptability, and the value of always looking for an escape route, no matter how tight the space."

Sylvester let out a loud sniffle.

"He was so good at that. He could get out of anything."

Happy smirked faintly.

"Except the vent he got stuck in that one time. Oh, and Paige's hands in a taco truck when the fate of the world depended on him." Paige blushed, she'd never live that down. But yeah, he was scrappy. Man, I loved that little weasel."

Toby leaned back, his voice soft but teasing.

"And let's not forget the time he chewed through my favorite bag of chips to 'contribute.' Though, I did really enjoy Walter's humanity experiment putting him in weird online videos."

"Oh god, I had forgotten all about that." Paige chuckled, looking to her husband with an amused, empathetic grin.

"Hey, Bueller was trying to help me date you."

She beamed, reaching out to squeeze his hand.

"I like his little helmet for when you would have him take part in all of crazy beyond crazy stunts." She added, a wistful smile stretching her face as Silvester again sniffled.

"He was a far braver soul than I."

"I know it annoyed you Walt, but thanks for always letting me put him in pajamas for Christmas. I think that's my favorite memory of him." Ralph tearfully recollected, heartbroken at the loss of his best friend."

Cabe shook his head, but there was no malice in his voice as he added to the memories.

"He was more than a handful. But he was ours. He fit right into this group of misfits. I'm actually going to miss the little fella."

Walter stepped forward, cradling a small steel box, custom made by Happy, wrapped in a simple black cloth.

"And now, we commit him to the earth, where his memory will live on in the legacy of this team, and in the hearts of those who knew him."

He handed the box to Ralph, who knelt down and gently placed the shoebox into the small grave they had dug outside the garage. Ralph, looking back to Paige for permission, receiving a nod, stepped forward, clutching a small flower he had picked earlier. He placed it atop the mound of dirt with trembling hands, tears streaming down his face.

Paige knelt beside him, placing her own flower, brushing his hair back and murmuring.

"He'd love this, sweetie. You're doing great."

Walter went next. Followed by Sly, Cabe, Toby and Happy.

Walter stood, brushing his hands off and turning to face the team.

"Ferret Bueller may no longer be with us, but Paige likes to believe his spirit remains, and that is a nice thought. His bravery, his curiosity, his indomitable will to survive, those are things we'll carry forward in everything we do."

Cabe stepped closer, his voice quieter than usual.

"He wasn't just a ferret. He was a fighter. And if there's a place for guys like us… then there's a place for him too."

Sylvester wiped his eyes with a fresh tissue, his voice thick with emotion.

"He really was the best ferret."

Happy crossed her arms, her tone gruff but her expression soft.

"He was annoying. But he was one of us. Definitely proved more valuable than Toby on several occasions."

"You know I can hear you right?" Toby admonished, receiving a knowing look in exchange. "Just because it's accurate, doesn't make it any less mean."

"I'm going to miss him so much." Ralph hugged Paige, overwhelmed with the emotions of the day. This had been his first real death experience, and worse, he had been the one to discover the poor lifeless rodent.

Walter nodded, his expression serious.

"I'm certain if he is a spirit now, he misses you too, Ralph. We'll all miss him."

The team stood in a loose circle around the tiny grave, each lost in their own thoughts. The air was thick with emotion, tinged with the bittersweet memory of their smallest teammate.

After a long moment, Toby broke the silence.

"So, who wants to bet Walter makes us a ferret-shaped robot next week?"

Walter frowned.

"That's not appropriate, Toby."

Happy smirked.

"Give it two weeks."

Ralph sniffled, his small voice cutting through the banter.

"I hope he's happy. Wherever he is."

Paige knelt down and hugged him tightly, her voice filled with warmth.

"I'm sure he is, sweetie. I'm sure he is."

And with that, the team lingered a little longer, each silently paying tribute to their unlikely hero. For Ferret Bueller, though small in stature, had left a pawprint on each of their hearts.
