Chapter 6- Callie

It's finally Friday, and it was busy Friday at that. A lot of people wanting financing for new vehicles today. Which had me swamped. It's late, almost 10 p.m. before I'm walking out to my car, turns out the tornado did more damage than we thought, and my car wasn't worth fixing. So here I am driving a brand new chevy equinox. All courtesy of said tornado, I've only had it a few days, but every time I look at it I think of her… I can not stop thinking about her, I hadn't called, I honestly hadn't had time. Letting out a long sigh, I climb behind the wheel, and push the button to start the engine. As the radio came to life, the lines of the song hit me. "you are always on my mind" an old Willie Nelson song. I don't even know what station I had it tuned to, but of course my mind went to Arizona, although she was never far from it. It was like my body was running on auto pilot, when I put the car in gear and headed out of the parking lot and turned in the completely opposite direction of my house. Finding myself in the same spot I was in that day, when it started raining, it once again started to rain. Now if I was in a normal mindset I'd probably laugh, but I wasn't. Turning on the wipers, as I slow down to make sure I was in the right place, I see the sign Robbins Kennel, I take the turn into the driveway. As I came to a stop in front of the house, I see a light on. Turning off the engine, I sit there for a moment and take a deep breath "hopefully someone is awake" I slowly open the car door and get out. The rain was falling harder now, I barely heard the screen door slam, I look up, and there she is. My heart skipped a beat, yet started beating rapidly at the same time as my eyes caught sight of her for the first time in what feels like forever. Taking a deep breath I say "hi" I don't know if she heard me, or if she was ignoring me, as she just stood there staring at me. "I, um" shaking my head, I have no idea what I'm doing, "I shouldn't have come" I sigh and turn around and head back to my car, until I felt a hand on my arm. She didn't say anything, but before I knew what was happening our lips were connecting, and a flash of lightning went off above us, as I felt the electricity from her lips run through my body.
