Chapter 27- Callie

We had decided to rent a cabin, Alex explained it's the same cabin they always rent when going. Although this year, with me and my mom going, him and Daniel would have to bunk up. It was explained to me that they usually used the third room for storage, or left it untouched. I was putting the last cooler in the truck, Daniel was in the kennel, with my mom, making sure everything was good to go for a week, we were just waiting on Mrs. Webber to come and pick up Sheldon. I wasn't around when she dropped him off, I would love to see her again. So I was making sure I was out front when she arrived. With luck, I heard a car pull down the driveway, looking up I recognized the car, but it wasn't the Webber's. I take a deep breath, and step towards it, as the car parks, and he steps out. "what do you want?" I was done with being polite to him.

"my wife" he growls

"hmm" I hum shaking my head, out of the corner of my eye I see Daniel come out. "she's not going with you"

"she can make up her own mind" my dad growls, there is silence as Arizona walks up beside me. I reach for her hand and see my dad cringe at the contact. I have no idea where Alex is, but I'm sure he's not far. I can see my mom in the doorway to the kennel, so I knew she was safe. "what happened to you" Daniel asks stepping closer, when my dad doesn't answer "you left for college, and turned into a completely different person, someone we said we'd never become" Daniel went on "I don't understand"

"you wouldn't" my dad spats

"she's not going with you" I say, I wanted to add that she filed for divorce, but I'll let the lawyers take care of that news. More silence, my dad takes a look at Daniel, then at me and Arizona, who still had ahold of my hand, scoffs then gets in his car and leaves. I swear you could hear all of us let out a sigh of relief. A moment after he turned down the road, I saw the Webber's car pull in. "thank god" I mutter, and hear Arizona laugh, now we can leave. The car pulls up in front of the kennel, and I see both Mrs. and Mr. Webber get out. "oh hello Callie" Mrs. Webber says, as she walks over giving me a hug.

"hello Adele" I smile and return the hug

"we miss you dear" she says, I see Richard walk around the car "hello Callie"

"hello Richard"

"your house sold last week" he says

"yes it did" I smile, I didn't need the money so it really didn't matter to me how long it took to be sold. "I hope the new family is as quiet as you" he adds

"they have kids" Adele whispers and I laugh, knowing how Richard loved his quiet. Sheldon came running out right to Richard, who bends down to pet him. "I think he loves that dog more than he loves me"

"that's because he listens to me" Richard says "don't cha boy" I laugh and look up seeing Arizona standing there. "thank you" Adele says, Arizona smiles and nods "she never says much" she says to me.

"I know, but I like it" I wink, I'm pretty sure it was at that moment Adele realized why I was there, and why my house was on the market. "make sure we get an invitation to the wedding" she smiles. I nod, not knowing what else to say, Richard had put Sheldon in the car, and was climbing back in himself. "I'm serious" she says, I look at Arizona and we both nod, as we watch them drive away. "well" I say as Arizona walks up beside me.

"they were your neighbors?" she asks

"yeah" I shrug, leaning in kissing her. My mom and Daniel come out of the kennel, Daniel locking the door behind him, and Alex is pulling the truck out of the barn where they keep it. Jack, Rose and Pen are in the back, tied up so they won't jump out. Arizona says Jack and Rose wouldn't, but with Penelope they thought it best to tie them all up. The trailer was hooked up, with the kayaks, and 2 4wheelers. Alex jumps out, leaving the beast running, and goes into the house. "if you have to pee you better go now, cuz we ain't stopping" Daniel says. I love how he didn't change the wording just because my mom was there. Arizona takes my hand and we head into the house, just as Alex was coming out of the bathroom. I nod for Arizona to go before me, she kisses my cheek and closes the door. "so when are you doing it?" Alex asks, his voice low so Arizona wouldn't hear.

"I don't know yet" I smile, he winks and leaves the house, the screen door slamming behind him. It never takes Arizona long, as the door opens I smile, she reaches out and pulls me in, shutting the door again. Pushing me against it "how about a quicky?" she says as she kisses my neck.

"as much as I want that, I don't want to be uncomfortable for the drive"

"ugh" she groans, kisses me again and lets me go. I didn't care she was in there, I went and did my business, while washing my hands I ask "how long of a drive is it?"

"about 3 hours, depends if we stop for lunch or not"

"ok" I smile and open the door, she takes my hand again and we make our way to the truck, it had already been decided that my mom would sit in front with Daniel, and I would ride in the middle of the back, I wasn't bothered by that because the back seat of the truck had more room than the front of my old car, the one that got wrecked by the tornado. Alex was already in his spot, so I climb in next to him "I think you should take her out on the kayaks, there's a little island about a quarter mile away, and do it there"

"hmm"

"I can go out before and set it up all romantic and shit if you want" he says "like a picnic or something, I don't know"

"that sounds like a good idea" I say "thank you Alex" he smiles and I pat his leg. Everyone had climbed into the truck "alright" Daniel says as he puts it in gear "next stop" I see him look at the dash "the gas station, dammit Arizona"

"it wasn't me" Arizona says, I laugh, knowing he only uses Arizona's full name when she's in trouble. I heard Alex chuckle next to me, it was him, he was the last one to take it to town and was too lazy to put gas in. Daniel sighs, and drives off, shaking his head. I think I heard him mutter "damn kids" causing my mom to laugh.

I went with Adele because I'm not a fan of Catherine. lol and of course Carlos had to show up and try to ruin everything. Be patient, it'll come out soon why he's so harsh towards the Robbins.
