I was called to the hospital, Ryder was hit by a car, how in the hell did that happen. I have been so busy lately I haven't been able to check in with him. My aunt Cassie was there, apparently the car that did it fled the scene and it had no license plate so we were looking for a car that we had no record of. It was like a needle in a haystack. It made me think that it was planned in some way, my first question was what was he doing out in the middle of the street anyways. I wanted to think that Zachary had something to do with it but every time I brought him up to Ryder he went all defensive on me saying he was good to him. I didn't want to believe it but I couldn't do anything either. "Max thank god, the doctor is saying his blood alcohol level was high. I don't understand he was at home with Miley" Cassie said, "I don't know I will look into it Aunt Cassie, so Miley had no idea he snuck out of the house?" I asked, "no and she feels terrible but he is 13 and I can't control him anymore he it has gotten out of hand" Cassie said, "how so? do you know who he has been hanging out with? I asked, "most of the time it is Timothy or Lacey but Gia is in there too" she said, "I no Gia's sister and she is apparently acting out a lot too. I will figure this out" I said, "I hope so the car that him, had no plate, who even drives with no plate?" she asked, "no one it is illegal, I will find them, how is Ryder?" I asked, "I am not sure yet" she said, and I decided to stay with her, I needed to know he was alright before I left. I wanted answers but I needed to be sure that Ryder was alive before I went to ask the questions.
"Dr. Chapman, Ryder is okay he is extremely lucky, he has a concussion and a few broken ribs but otherwise he is alright. He is again extremely lucky. We wan to keep him for observation" the doctor said. "Thanks Mel, can I go see him?" she asked, "of course, he is in room 304" she said and I followed my aunt. Ryder looked like hell and he was hooked up to one of those banana bags, I knew it was because he was drunk, I wanted to find out what was going on. "Ryder oh my lord" Cassie said hugging him, "ugh mom I am fine" he said, "FINE! you are so damn lucky this wasn't worse mister! Drinking what were you thinking! Ryder I had no idea you even left the house! To top it all off you are drunk and that worries me you are 13 years old! When you get home you are grounded until further notice!" she said. "Whatever" he said rolling away from her, and Cassie started to cry I felt bad, Ryder was out of control and it was not in a good way. He was acting out against her and I am not sure she is strong enough to stop him, with the crazy hours she is working. I feel like no matter what she does Ryder is just going to continue to spiral down a dark path and no one would be able to pull him out. I think I knew what I needed to do, and I knew where I needed to go. I called Klea and she agreed to come with me she was my back up and I needed it because I wanted to rip off his head.
I know Ryder is friends with Timothy but his older brother Tanner is on my radar he has been acting out ever since I arrested his father and I had a feeling he has something to do with this. I know his dad has some unregistered cars, and I bet one of them was used to hit Ryder, I just needed to do this strategically. I knocked on the door Titan one side and Klea on the other, "Oh great what do you want?" Tanner asked, "I want to know where you were 3 hours ago" I said, "I was here with my friends" he said. "Where are you dad's cars?" I asked, "in the garage what the hell is this about?" he asked, "My cousin was hit by a car and the car is unregistered" I said, "so that doesn't mean it was me, and plus I was here" he said. "Do you mind if I take a look at the cars?" I asked, "do you have a warrant?" Tanner asked, "Do I need one?" I asked, "Enough Tanner, let him look you have nothing to hide" Zachary said, I wanted to wipe that smug look off his face. Knowing the 2 of them where here made me angry like I wanted to just punch them both out and arrest them. We looked at the cars and none of them were damaged, I had to wonder if there was one missing. "Like we said we were here all night" Tanner said. "Fine tell me was Ryder here?" I asked, "he was" a girl said and I recognized her it was Gia. "Have you all been drinking?" Klea asked, "no" Gia said so fast but you could tell she was drunk. We ended up calling all their parents and Rachel was not happy with Gia, I felt like Zachary's mom was high when she came to get him and his sister. Tanner of course was allowed to drink he was 19 but his brother wasn't and since he was Timothy's legal guardian there was nothing I could do there.
I had no answers but at least I knew that Ryder was there and he had been drinking, they were hiding something from me and I was going to figure it out. Why would Ryder be there what was the purpose to all of this? "Max talk to me" Klea said, "I just feel like something is going to happen, Ryder is hanging out with them and he was drunk and was hit by a car. He is so lucky he was not killed and I just don't get why he is acting this way" I said. "I am not sure but Max we can't tell him who he can be friends with" Klea said. "I know but Zachary is not a good friend!" I said, "to him maybe he is, I know this whole hate you have for him is getting to you. But despite all that Max, Zachary has yet to do anything wrong" Klea said, "I know the smug bastard is getting other people to do his dirty work" I said. "Or he is not as bad as we think" she said, "I doubt that he is planning something" I said, "well we just need to do our jobs and let him be for now" she said. I knew she was right I couldn't do anything if he was not committing any crimes. I was going to nuts until I had him behind bars! I needed to know that my cousin and my brother and sisters were okay. I was going to make sure that one day Zachary was rotting behind bars even if it killed me in the process.
