Chapter 15
Valerie sat back in her chair (still inside bike that was disguised as a tissue box on a nearby table) in slience. She at least now knows some of the truth as to what happened to her and River when they were born. The second baby was her, she was sure of it because Valerie remembered her adoptive parents telling her that she was placed at the front door of an New York orphanage in the US as a baby.
"The eye patched lady must have decided that i was no use to her and dumped me at that orphanage during a different time stream so i wouldn't be found or be discovered!" she thought to herself. The Doctor himself never even know about her until they met in Akhaten just recently. She remembers the Doctor scanning her with his sonic screwdriver and told her that he detected some time lord genes but very faint but only had one heart. He then want on to explain that full time lords have two hearts which mean't that Valerie was half time lord and half human.
Bike wiggled which made Valerie come back to earth from her thoughts "Oops sorry Bike, must've drifted away! Was deep in thought!". She looked over towards the eye patched lady who had her arms folded. She was watching every move that the nurses were making with the twin babies. Valerie hadn't realised that one of nurses had left the room while she was day dreaming.
That nurse soon returns to the room, "Mind wipe complete?" the eye patched lady asked the nurse quite firmly, "Yes, mind wipe complete Madame Kovarian" she answered back to her. "Hmmm so that's Madame Kovarian...how dare they do this to our mother!" Valerie whispered to herself while watching everything unfold. The whole event was unbearable and Valerie wondered if or when the Doctor will come and rescue Amy and her babies.
its sad to think that Amy and Rory will never know about there second child, the second child being herself. Valerie had watched them grow up and then watch them as adults knowing that she was not to interfear with time and the events. Otherwise she could create a paradox or a rip in time as the Doctor explained. It was heartbreaking but she had to standby his orders.
Soon the nurses and Madame Kovarian left the room leaving the babies on their own in glass cribs. Now Valerie and Bike were on their own, she wanted to have a closer look at them. She pressed a button on Bike which caused her to magically grow back to her ordinary size. Valerie was now in the room with the babies, she then realised that maybe there were cameras in the room so she asks Bike to magically use its magic to disarm them or create a bearer around them so all was seen on the cameras was just black. Valerie quietly walks over to the sleeping babies and notices a name on one glass tank saying "Melody Pond" but the other had "Baby Pond 2".
When she thought about it Amy had fainted giving birth to the second child or from what she had heard. So the second baby was never named. As she gazes at the twins, doesn't touch the babies but whispers to them gentlely "Hello babies, hello Melody i am your long lost sister from the future and hello baby number though you currently have no name, the beginning of your life is going to be hard but i know you have a wonderful future ahead of you! For both of you!". She smiles at both babies as they dreamt shredding a tear in her eye.
She then heard noise approaching and quickly demanded Bike to shrink her again. Bike then what it was told just in time as the a nurse entered the room again. Valerie who was now back inside Bike who was still a tissue box played with its setting for it to become a small space ship again that can go through walls. She then suggested that it was time to time travel 4 weeks into the future.
Valerie flew Bike out of the room to go back outside and a time vortex quickly appeared. Soon the time vortex disappeared and they were back on the corridors of Demons Run at normal size. Now the corridors were even busier, the soldiers everywhere as well as other alien creatures. They all looked like they were hear or preparing for a war.
She walked the corridors, Bike was now back around Valerie's neck as an army necklace. Soon she hears what sounded like a victorian british accent call out "Doctor River Song!" this made her wonder if her sister River was nearby. She looked around but was unable to spot her but spotted a young adult in what looked like a catsuit with a lizard looking alien also looking very Victorian like (the outfit gave it away). Valerie suddenly remembers that it was referred to as a Silurian. She was amazed to see one for herself!.
"What's that Jenny?" the lizard women asks the cat suit girl "River Song, she's here! We must inform the Doctor!" the cat suit girl cried. The Silurian never looked towards where the cat suit girl was looking. Valerie soon realised that she was looking at her and she hid behind a crate. The cat suit girl was referring her as River Song. "Guess this is the time for me to run!" Valerie had no choice but to run and get out of sight without saying a word to the cat suit girl and the Silurian. She was scared that time would be effected due to this meeting.
She runs as quickly as she could before they even noticed that she had gone. Moments later, Valerie soon hears a scream and decides to investigate. After trying to dodge many of the soldiers who were still fighting, she came to an open area and again hid behind some crates. The TARDIS was present along with the Doctor, Amy and Rory along with the Silurian, the cat suit girl, another alien and a female soldier who both didn't look well as they were lying on the floor.
As she watched the events unfold, she witnessed the two deaths of the female solder who's name was Lorna and the alien who's name was Strax. Rory was assisting Strax but then in seconds he dies after saying that he was a nurse. Jenny (the cat suit girl) was trying to comfort an upset Amy. Turns out that Amy was the one who screamed because the Melody Pond she was holding who she thought was the real Melody Pond turned out to be a fake a Ganger!. Madame Kovarian had slipped away with the real baby claiming victory.
The Silurian who's name was Vastra was standing over the Doctor telling him how brave Lorna the female soldier was. The Doctor was kneeling over Lorna's dead body. Vastra asks the Doctor what the next move was and the Doctor informs her as he gets up that its too late for the child and that its already been taken to Earth. She begins to torment him and says that he never gives up. He walks away but then turns round to face her "Don't you sometimes wish i did?".
Suddenly a flash of light appears before them making them all go slient. It was the one and only River Song!. Could this be the moment she reveals who she really is? Valerie thinks to herself. The Doctor angerly walks up to her and tormants her for not being here when he needed her and that he had always been there for her when she needed him "Where the hell have you been? Every time your've asked, i have been there. Where the hell were you today?".
River then explains that she couldn't have prevented the events that have happened today. He snaps at her and tells her she could've tried "And so, my love , could you. I know you're not all right. But hold tight, Amy, because you've going to be" says River. The Doctor asks if she thinks that he wanted for all this to happen "You think i wanted this? I didn't do this. This...this wasn't me!", River snaps back at him "This was exactly you. All this, all of it. You make them so afraid. When you began, all those years ago, sailing off to see the universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of this name? Doctor? The word for healer and wise man, throughout the universe. We get that word from you, you know. But if you arry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word "Doctor" means mighty warrior. How far you've come. And now they've taken a child...the child of your best friends...and they're going to turn her into a weapon, just to bring you down. And all this, my love...in fear of you".
After hearing that speech from River, Valerie notices a cot possibly for Melody. The Doctor then asks River who she is but River dodges the question and playfully knowledges the cot "Oh look your cot! Haven't seen that in a very long while!". Valerie gasped the cot was the Doctors?. "No, no, you tell me, tell me who you are!" the Doctor asks her before River takes his hand and places it on the cot "I am telling you, can't you read?" River gentley tells him.
"This is it all is going to be revealled!" Valerie whispers to herself soon the Doctor will know who she really is. She sees him smile and act all nervous but in a joyful way. He then straightens his bow tie & jacket and looks over to Amy and Rory who are confused as to whats going on. The Doctor then asks River for one last remark before informing Jenny and Vastra "Till the next time" and telling Amy and Rory that he will find their daughter and that she will be safe before running towards the TARDIS.
The TARDIS dematerializes and Jenny, Vastra, Amy, Rory and River are left. Amy immediately walks up towards River with a gun demanding answers and Rory tries to stop her. River simply tells her to keep calm and to pay attention "It's the TARDIS translation matrix, it takes a while to kick in with the written word. You have to concerntrate" she tells Amy and Rory.
Valerie watches as Amy looks down at the cot and claims she cannot read it. Rory quietly takes the gun out of Amy's hand. River then places something small in Amy's hand "It's you daughter's name in the language of the forest" River informs her "I know my daugher's name" Amy tells her. "Except they don't have a word for "Pond" because only water in the forest is the river. The Doctor will find your daughter and he will care for her whatever it takes and i know that" River says to Amy and Rory while they focus on the object that was placed in Amy's hand.
Suddenly Valerie notices the look on their faces. Amy and Rory had become shocked nor did they speak "Here it comes!" she whispered to her self and right on que River reveals who she is to her parents "Its me. I'm Melody. I'm your daughter".
