RAW is WAR: 15/6/1998
RAW is WAR was live at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. The current match was Dustin Runnels vs. Marc Mero (w/Jacqueline).
They go back and forth until Runnels gets dumped on the floor for a ride into the steps. Back in, Mero delivers a Sablebomb. It doesn't seem to matter much to Runnels though as he comes back with the low down uppercut and an inverted atomic drop. He gets slugged up top though as Mero brings him down with a headscissors for two.
Sable starts walking down the ramp to also distract Mero. Runnels runs over and hits him with the RUNNING BULLDOG for the win.
Sable doesn't stick around as she heads to the back while Mero is left in the ring to seek solace from his main squeeze Jacqueline.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
The crowd are on their feet, cheering loudly as soon as they hear the wolf howl and the lights go out to even louder cheers. After a few seconds, the howl is heard oncre more and the lights come back on... TO REVEAL THE BLADEWOLF IS IN THE RING!
"It's the Bladewolf!" JR shouted. "The Bladewolf is in the ring! He's staring down his opponent for next week in the King of the Ring tournament!"
Mero and Jacqueline are unaware as they look to the stage, with Mero cockily shouting for the Bladewolf to show himself. He smirks smugly and turns around, only to go wide-eyed with a pale expression as soon as he saw the masked man standing right behind him.
Mero goes for a right but Bladewolf blocks it, then grabs Mero by the throat, lifts him up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A ONE-ARMED CHOKESLAM!
"What a Chokeslam!" JR shouted.
Bladewolf gives a glare at Jacqueline to scare her back as he stands over Mero's limp form, then raises his arms before throwing them down. Four lightning bolts strike the turnbuckles, making fire explode from them and the lights dim to the sinister blood red and dark blue as Bladewolf's theme plays. The Intercontinental Champion then takes his leave.
"Message sent, I believe." JR said. "The Bladewolf sending a message to Mero, and perhaps everyone else who has advanced in the tournament."
After Kane and Mankind had won the Tag Team Royal Rumble Match, where the winners become the #1 contenders to the WWF Tag Team Championship, Paul Bearer talks, then Mankind spouts poetry while the cell lowers, then Paul Bearer talks some more.
Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his entrance but doesn't enter the cell. He wisely awaits the Undertaker to come out before he enters the cell with Kane and Mankind. Taker is announced twice and never comes out for his entrance. This leads to Mankind bum rushing Austin only to get the door slammed in the face and thrown into the cell. Austin brawls with Kane in the aisle while Paul Bearer padlocks himself in the cell.
Mankind eventually saves Kane from Austin, but inside the cell, the Undertaker comes up from under the mat which scares Paul Bearer as his eyes widened upon realizing he's locked in the cell with the very man who hates his existence.
"It's the Undertaker! The Undertaker!" JR shouted over the cheering crowd as the Phenom glares at Paul Bearer. "He was under the ring! Paul Bearer has locked himself in the cell with the Undertaker!"
Suddenly, a knife cuts through the mat a little, then a hand reaches out... AND THE BLADEWOLF POPS OUT!
"And the Bladewolf is here!" JR exclaims as the Bladewolf gets out and stands behind Paul Bearer who backs up into his chest and freezes. "Paul Bearer is trapped between them!"
"No!" Jerry shakes his head.
Paul gulps and turns around, his skin going as white as a ghost upon seeing Bladewolf, who rears back and punches him in the face, knocking Paul Bearer down.
"Oh!" JR exclaims at the punch as the Bladewolf and the Undertaker start pummelling away on Paul Bearer without mercy. "Undertaker and Bladewolf! Settling the score with Paul Bearer! The things that Paul Bearer said about the Undertaker and the Bladewolf's mother!"
"Get in there!" Jerry shouted as Mankind and Kane were trying to get inside the cell. "Mankind, get in there, they'll kill him!"
"Paul Bearer's locked himself in the cage! There's no one to help him!" JR points out. Bladewolf now resorts to stomping away on Paul Bearer while the Undertaker continues hammering away with lefts and rights.
Austin starts beating up Mankind again while Kane climbs onto the roof of the cell still trying to break inside. Undertaker and Bladewolf are still doing a number on Paul Bearer and makes him eat steel to bust him open from ear to ear. This is amazing. Meanwhile, Austin delivers a very nasty chairshot to the head of Mankind. Austin then decides to turn his KOTR match in a real moneymaker by climbing the cell and meeting Kane at the top for a beatdown.
RAW is WAR then goes off the air.
