RAW is WAR: 22/6/1998
RAW is WAR was live at Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. It was time for the second quarterfinals match in the King of the Ring tournament, where the winner advances to the PPV this Sunday and be one step closer to becoming the 1998 King of the Ring. In this match, it is the Bladewolf vs Marc Mero.
In the arena, Mero's theme hits to boos and he comes out with Jacqueline as the bell rings and Tony Chimel begins introductions.
"The following King of the Ring quarterfinal match is scheduled for one-fall with a twenty-minute time limit. Making his way to the ring, being accompanied by Jacqueline. From Buffalo, New York, weighing 245 lbs... 'MARVELOUS' MARC MERO!"
"Marc Mero and Jacqueline, making their way down to the ring." Michael Cole starts. "This is the second quarterfinals match in the King of the Ring tournament. Marc Mero against the Bladewolf. The winner will advance to take on Ken Shamrock in the final four this Sunday.
Mero and Jacqueline enter the ring and show off to the crowd, and Mero's theme soon dies down.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
The Devil's Wolf played to a loud cheer from the fans as the lights switched to the sinister blood red and dark blue before the Bladewolf walked out with the WWF Intercontinental Championship around his waist. Bladewolf stood at the entrance and adjusted his right elbow pad before he made his way towards the ring.
"And his opponent, from Death Valley, weighing 310 lbs, he is the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion... THE BLADEWOLF!" Tony Chimel announced.
"The Bladewolf, the reigning Intercontinental Champion, having held the title for 49 days thus far, has another chance to add an accomplishment to his growing list before his first year with the WWF comes." JR said. "This man has had an impressive few months, I have to say, and he may make it even more of a good year should he win the tournament."
Bladewolf stops at the end of the ramp and stares directly at Mero before he climbs onto the apron, and steps over the top rope. As soon as he did, Mero rushes and unloads with a series of right hands, causing the referee to call for the bell and begin the match.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Marc Mero wasting little time." JR said as Mero continues to land punch after punch on Bladewolf, who seems to be shrugging them off before he shoves Mero back. "And Bladewolf! Shoving Mero across the ring!"
Mero got to his feet and looked around as the crowd gets a 'Sable' chant going.
'Sable! Sable! Sable!'
Bladewolf adjusts his right elbow pad, watching Mero coldly Mero inches forward, hands raised as he shuffles around with the Bladewolf watching him. Bladewolf lunges for a right but Mero ducks and lands a slap across the mask of Bladewolf, barely turning his head.
"Oh, that may have been a big mistake on Mero's part." JR said.
Bladewolf clobbers Mero with a right hand, sending the man down and scurrying from the ring. However, Bladewolf casually follows after him and brings his forearm to the back of Mero, sensing him to the floor. Bladewolf grabs Mero and drives his knee into the man's ribcage, followed by a big forearm being brought down onto his back, sending him flat to the floor.
"The Bladewolf beginning to dominate." JR noted.
"Mero doesn't want to let that go on for too long." Cole shook his head. "The Bladewolf is dangerous when he's in control."
Bladewolf pulls Mero to his feet and tosses him into the ring before sliding in after. Bladewolf adjusts his right elbow pad before walking towards Mero who is crawling towards the other side of the ring when Bladewolf grabs his right leg, to which Mero turns and... COLLIDES HIS LEFT LEG WITH THE SIDE OF BLADEWOLF'S HEAD!
"Oh!" Cole winces at the impact.
"Mero with a good move there." JR said but the Bladewolf merely tilted his head and shrugged it off. "But it had no effect on the Bladewolf, unfortunately for Mero."
Bladewolf grabs Mero and pulls him to his feet when Mero quickly reaches up and jabs the eyes of Bladewolf, forcing the man back.
"And Mero, with a dirty tactic." JR shakes his head.
Mero gets to his feet and dropkicks the Bladewolf from behind, sending him into the corner. Mero runs and hits a turnbuckle clothesline before he goes to the second turnbuckle and starts hammering away on the Bladewolf with a fury of right hands before he stops as he spots someone coming down the ramp. That someone being none other than Sable, who is dressed in a skintight black bodysuit that hugs her curves and body.
"JR, look who's here." Cole pointed out.
"Guess a little business is about to pick up." JR said, amused.
Mero yells at Sable furiously... WHEN THE BLADEWOLF SUDDENLY GRABS MERO AND WALKS FORWARD!
"Oh no! Bladewolf has Mero! JR shouted.
Bladewolf stands in the middle of the ring, then lifts Mero up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A HUGE POWERBOMB!
"Oh!" Cole winced at the impact.
"What a powerbomb!" JR added.
Bladewolf covers Mero.
"One!"
"Two!"
"Three! Ring the bell!" The referee called.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
The Devil's Wolf played as the Bladewolf gets to his feet. "Here is your winner... THE BLADEWOLF!"
"What a match, JR." Cole said.
JR nodded in agreement. "I agree. And once again, Sable being the reason for Mero's defeat. But this means that the Bladewolf will be at King of the Ring this Sunday."
Bladewolf flips his hair back and looks around, grabbing his Intercontinental title from the referee as the lights dim to the sinister blood red and dark blue. He then leaves the ring and makes his way to the back.
And that's it for this chapter. Next will be King of the Ring. Sorry for the chapters being short, but it's just the way it is right now.
