"Janice Grace Vermillion, you will be sent off to Aynor Village. Any and all monsters seen must be killed for the survival of humanity, do you understand?"

These words rang throughout the human's mind as she hesitantly raised her sword to slice through yet another monster civilian. Her hands coated in dust and blood, her eyes low and sad, a feeling unfamiliar ever since she had been drafted to fight for the War against the Monster people. This horrible night with air that smelled horribly thick of the stench of death and the indescribable metallic smell of blood. The air It stung her throat and made her curse silently to herself. If only she knew the truth behind this horrid war.

The monster below her blade cried out for MERCY, begging to not be killed as they had been bearing a child. They had a child growing within them, a young soul who was soon to be damned to die if she had so chosen to bring down her blade against this monster woman's throat. She swallowed the knot which had begun to form in her throat. She was not ready to take yet another life, if she still had a soul, she would put down her blade and spare this innocent monster woman. She grew surrounded by monsters in her village of BlueGrass. But, when she had been drafted, tales of monsters being horrible and selfless creatures who feed off of the souls of her people had been put into her head along with other impressionable youth. Not once has she seen such behavior coming from these kind folk when she had gone and infiltrated their capital.

She truly felt as if her people were wrong for all of this death, she has not once heard of one human soul being taken during this cruel and bloody war. Was she standing on the wrong side? Why are we killing children? Why are elderly dying? Why do pregnant women have to get slain like cattle? In what bloody world was this alright? How was this justified under the bland and tasteless words of "for the future of humanity"? She just couldn't understand. It made her hands tremble to think about as the weight of her sins bared down on her shoulders.

This human could not understand, it made her shake as she lowered her blade, she closed her eyes then took a deep breath as she looked into the eyes of the pregnant woman. She stiffened her upper lip as she got ready to speak. Her little heart pounded in her chest as the Monster woman crawled back a little out of surprise, the human did not raise her hellish blade again, for she did not want to murder this woman and give herself far more sin than she already had placed upon her back as she crawled on the hot coals of hell. If there was one thing she could do right in this very moment, it had to be this. She had to do something to save this woman and her unborn child.

"Can.. you run? With that child in you, can you run and hide in the mouth of Mt.Ebbot? I..I promise that I will not cause harm to you.. I wish for you to live on.."

The Human shakily as she turned around, she sheathed her blade as she looked around to be sure that there were no other humans around to see that she had granted MERCY to a monster. Such a thing was treason and could have her killed, why? Because she would become an enemy of her people. She could provide information that could damn humanity and make everything fall apart. Everything her King worked for could be for naught. She knew the exact location of their king as well as several soldier camps.

The monster nodded profusely then got up, running towards the mountain where few monsters had begun to hide. The rain began to sprinkle on the human's head as she descended further into the sin-soaked city where her people slain countless monsters of many different ages and races. Rain trailed through the cracks of the streets and pavement, taking dust and blood with them on their journey. It was horrible to witness. It was a sight that would be scarred into the minds of countless survivors of the war.
