Here's another chapter! Uraraka's kind of going through something at the moment. She seems a bit jealous, but is trying to be friendly with Melissa. She just wishes that some of them would be happy for Kitsune. I really like Uraraka and Kitsune's relationship, even if it isn't much. I just really like the fact that she is happy for her getting this amazing job. I like that she really cares about her getting this job as well! Melissa is beginning to understand why she's feeling this way...
I highly recommend reading The Winter Dance, and everything else after that just to get the full experience especially if you want to know who Kitsune is!! Enjoy :)
Outside of U.A. Academy...
Uraraka had stopped running to catch her breath. She looked around for a moment and wondered where Kitsune was. Just based on her text, she didn't seem to tell her where to help her move in specifically. Kitsune told her to meet her, but she didn't see her anywhere. Uraraka decided to walk over to the school, hoping that she might see her coming through the front gate. She soon was right be the school entrance and waited for her come over.
Uraraka settled down by putting her backpack on the ground. She leaned up against the wall, wondering if she should've talked to Midoriya earlier. He seemed like he finally knew what was going on, but not quite. She didn't want to talk to him about it, especially since it had to do with Melissa. She just needed some fresh air.
Then she remembered Midoriya and Melissa outside of the dormitory. They looked happy to be outside and jogging together. Uraraka never really went jogging with him before. She would always sleep in. She would if she had planned it with him. She didn't even know if Midoriya and Melissa had planned on going jogging together.
It reminded of her of when her and Bakugo went hiking. Then something about it made her feel a little bad. If she could hang out with a guy, and it not mean anything more than being friends, then he should be allowed to go hang out with Melissa. She slumped her shoulders, feeling a bit unsure of what to do about Midoriya. She let out a sigh and began playing with her heart necklace.
Something about that helped her calm down. Ever since Sakura got it fixed and gave it back to her, she felt so much calmer. And then all of this happened.
Before she could do anything, she heard someone call out for her. She looked up to see Kitsune.
"Kitsune! Hi!" Uraraka said with a wide smile, "I'm so glad to see you!"
"You too! Cementoss and Snipe told me that they would help bring some of my stuff over here to move into my dorm room," Kitsune told her.
Uraraka looked behind her and found Cementoss and Snipe carrying some of her boxes from home. Kitsune carried a couple bags and a suitcase, and Uraraka grabbed one of them.
"Oh! You don't have to do that," Kitsune told her, "I can carry them myself."
"Trust me. I think you'll want me around for moving into a dorm room," Uraraka said back as she lightened up Kitsune's backpack.
Kitsune already felt so much better, Uraraka noticed Cementoss and Snipe struggling to carry some of the boxes. Uraraka quickly lightened up the box at the bottom of their stack, making it easier to carry. The boxes on the top stopped them from floating away.
"Thanks Uraraka. We should've asked you to tag along earlier," Snipe said to her.
"It's not a problem," Uraraka said back with a smile, "So, where's your dorm room?"
"Kitsune is going to be staying at your dormitory actually," Cementoss explained to her, "We kind of figured since your class knows her, that it would be an easier way to settle down."
Uraraka definitely wasn't expecting that. She smiled so widely, and so was Kitsune. Uraraka could tell that she was trying to be professional about this, but was still excited to be moving in with Uraraka and the rest of her classmates.
"This is great!" Uraraka said back, "Although I don't know how Bakugo is going to take this. If he yells or gets upset, don't take it personally. That's just the way he blows off steam."
Kitsune couldn't help but laugh, and they headed over to Class 1-A's dormitory. Uraraka couldn't stop smiling at Kitsune staying over. She kind of understood why Midoriya was feeling this way about Melissa now. She felt a little better, but she still felt like something about Melissa was bothering her. She didn't understand why, but she decided to shake it off for now. She was so excited to help out Kitsune.
Before they knew it, they had entered Class 1-A's dormitory. Everyone was finally up and confused as to what was going on. Uraraka carried a suitcase and a bag as Kitsune helped with the others. Cementoss and Snipe decided to bring her stuff to her already assigned room. Everyone was staring at Uraraka and Kitsune, and they were both smiling from ear to ear.
"Uraraka, what's going on? Why is Kitsune here?" Iida asked her.
Uraraka and Kitsune shared a look and giggled at each other, getting everyone excited for some reason.
"Kitsune is staying here in our dormitory," Uraraka told her, "All of the teachers thought that this would be a better place for her to settle down."
Ashido's eyes sparkled and gave Kitsune a hug. Some of them were really happy, mostly the girls since they had another girl around the dormitory. Others were a little cautious of her since her quirk caused a bit of trouble last time they saw her. Even Bakugo seemed a bit grouchy about the whole thing.
"This is great! We have more girls in the dormitory!" Hagakure cried out.
"It's about time," Jirou said back.
"Congratulations on that job offer, Kitsune," Midoriya said to her.
Uraraka's eyes widened and avoided eye contact with him. She knew that he noticed, but didn't dare look at him in that moment. She just hoped that Ashido or Yaoyorozu wouldn't bug her about it. She hadn't enough of that recently.
"Thank you Midoriya," Kitsune said back, "I just hope that I can settle in pretty quickly. I wouldn't want anyone feeling uncomfortable with me around."
Uraraka gave Bakugo a dirty look, knowing full well that he might say something. He growled and just stuffed his hands into his pockets. Kirishima tried to calm him down, which seemed to get his attention.
"Come on. We should put your things away," Uraraka told Kitsune, "Cementoss and Snipe or probably done with those boxes. I have to turn off my quirk anyway."
"Why don't we help?" Midoriya asked Kitsune, "Is there any more boxes that we could help bring inside?"
Uraraka avoided him and hoped that he would back off a little. Fortunately there wasn't any more boxes to bring inside.
"Why don't we let Uraraka take care of things for now? Too many people in her dorm room might be a little uncomfortable," Iida explained to them.
Uraraka looked up to see Iida giving her a smile. He seemed to understand that she wanted some space. Somehow he knew, but not her own boyfriend. She smiled back, but also appreciated that they wanted to help out Kitsune. Her and Kitsune soon headed towards Kitsune's dorm room. Uraraka soon realized that her room was across from a room by Mr. Aizawa's.
She really wanted to dorm room to be near hers, but understood that she wasn't a student here. She was a teacher.
Cementoss and Snipe soon walked out of her dorm room, letting them know that she was all set. Kitsune bowed them and really appreciated their help. They both headed inside once the teachers were all done. Uraraka came inside to see that the dorm room looked slightly bigger than theirs. There was bedframe with a mattress all set up for new bedsheets and pillows. She noticed that a couple of boxes were floating, so she turned off her quirk. The boxes soon landed onto the floor, and she hoped that nothing broke.
"Sorry about that. My quirk is not very good at soft landings," Uraraka said to her.
"That's okay. I don't have anything that's fragile in there," Kitsune explained to her, "My parents said that they could take the rest of my things for now, until things finally settle down."
Uraraka knew that she didn't actually bring everything from her place. She clearly just had things from her bedroom and maybe some things for the restroom and other things. She entered her room, feeling pretty good about helping Kitsune. Uraraka opened up one of her boxes and could tell that these were her bedsheets and pillows.
"I hope that you don't mind me going through your things," Uraraka said to her as she took them out.
"I don't mind. I like having the company," Kitsune said back, "Besides, it'll be easier settling down with you around."
Uraraka smiled, finally feeling included. Something about helping Kitsune made her feel so much better, and she able to forget about Melissa for a while. She thought that she might as well make her bed. Uraraka took her bedsheet and made sure that it was spread out. Luckily, she had already taken her shoes as she made it. Once she put the sheet all around the mattress, she placed the comforter on the bed.
She noticed that Kitsune was going through some things that looked like pro hero figures. They looked like figures of Mirko and Ryukyu. Something about it reminded her of Midoriya, especially the way she held them. She could tell that they were important to her, whether it was a collectible or that these pro heroes meant a lot to her.
"Are you a fan of Mirko and Ryukyu?" Uraraka asked her.
Uraraka noticed her getting flustered, and she quickly put them on her desk that came with the room.
"U-Umm... Maybe..." Kitsune said, clearly embarrassed that she had these, "I don't normally share these with anyone..."
"It's okay, Kitsune," Uraraka said to her, "Izuku has tons of AllMight figures and collectibles. That's not that weird around here. Besides, I actually know Ryukyu."
Kitsune's eyes widened in shock, a little thrown off by this fact.
"R-Really?! You do?!" Kitsune cried out without meaning to, "How do you know her? She's not a teacher here."
"No, but I did get an internship with her along with Tsu. Even Hado from Class 3-A recommended us to go with her there," Uraraka explained to her, "If it weren't for Hado, we wouldn't have gotten to meet her."
Uraraka could tell that she was really throw off by her meeting Ryukyu. She wondered if maybe she meant a lot to her in some way.
"Do you mind if I ask why you like her so much? She seems to be important to you," Uraraka asked her, "I mean, I noticed the Mirko figure, but something about her seems different compared to her."
Kitsune hesitated to answer, but something about it did seem like a big deal to her. Uraraka was patient with her, and she knew that she didn't have to tell her.
"Well, she actually came in to help me one time, " Kitsune explained to her, "I've met her before, but I didn't spend time with her, like you did. She came flying over to me when she saw someone steal my purse. I tried to get it back, but they wouldn't let up. I couldn't even activate my quirk since it's so specific. I know it's seems like nothing compared other things, but afterwards, she thought that I was pretty brave for standing up to them. Ryukyu even gave me an autograph and told me to work hard at whatever I wanna do. It was... pretty amazing..."
Uraraka was surprised by her interaction with Ryukyu. She talked about it like it wasn't a big deal, but it seemed pretty amazing to have a hero that you look up to talk to you like that. She even seemed to acknowledge her as more than just a civilian that she helps every day. She smiled, feeling like Kitsune should give herself more credit.
"I don't know. That seems pretty amazing to me," Uraraka told her, "I mean, Ryukyu actually took the time to talk to you afterwards. That's more than anyone would ever get with their favorite hero. I'd say that you're pretty lucky to have that."
Kitsune smiled as a blush formed around her face.
"Y-You really think so?" Kitsune asked her, "I-I mean... I know that Midoriya has a very close relationship with AllMight. At least, that's what I could tell from just being around here the last time I was here."
Uraraka's eyes widened and looked away feeling like she just walked into that one. She didn't know Midoriya and AllMight like she did, but she must've noticed certain things here and there. Something about her bringing up Midoriya and AllMight made her feel that tightening feeling in her stomach again. Melissa even came up, and she tried to ignore it.
"Well... That's very different. They know each other because of... complicated circumstances... It's hard to explain," Uraraka told her as she went back to putting her bed together.
Uraraka put her pillows on her bed and knew that Kitsune was looking at her. She wanted to forget about it, but those feelings of talking to her about these feelings were coming up again. She remembered how good it felt to talk to her when she stuck in Bakugo's body. She had even broken down crying in the girls' restroom at the time. Kitsune was the one that came over to talk to her, no one else. Something about it did feel good to have her here.
"Is something going on with you and Midoriya?" Kitsune asked her, "Because, you can talk to me if you want to. That necklace even seems to be something important. I didn't see that when I met you."
Uraraka hesitated to say anything and began with it as she finally finished making her bed. She contemplated on telling her, and with no one around at the moment, she actually considered it. She looked at Kitsune for a moment, and she looked genuinely happy to be here for her. Something about her eyes made her feel more than okay to tell her how she felt.
"It's just... Izuku... He can be a bit clueless to certain things..." Uraraka told her, "With Izuku's friend, Melissa, coming over for a while, he just seems to be so focused on her that he's forgotten about me. Even everyone seems to be so interested in her. I mean... I like her, but I don't understand what the big deal is about her. I just... I just... I don't know what's going on with me lately..."
Uraraka then noticed that she kept playing with her necklace, which caught Kitsune's attention. She stopped with it, but that didn't stop her from asking her something about it.
"Did Midoriya give you that? It looks pretty special," Kitsune asked her.
Uraraka thought about it for a moment and decided to pull back a bit on that story. It was a bit complicated anyway.
"I-It's... It's kind of complicated, but yes. Short story, yes. He got it for me at an antique shop," Uraraka explained to her, "It means a lot to me... I just wish that Izuku would understand these things without me actually having to straight up tell him. It's just... We've been going out for a while now. I feel like he should understand at least a little that I might feel a little weird about him hanging out with Melissa."
"Well, it sounds to me like you're jealous of Melissa getting all of the attention," Kitsune said to her, "Maybe you should try talking to her. If you just give her a chance, she might not be so bad."
Uraraka really didn't know how to feel about that. She knew that Kitsune was just trying to help, but she felt like she could barely talk to her beforehand. At first she was okay with it, but then Kitsune got her job and no one seemed to care other than her. She went to play with her necklace, but stopped herself and slapped her leg in annoyance.
"Maybe you're right," Uraraka told her, "I mean, Melissa isn't going to be here for very long. She clearly doesn't mean to hurt me. She's just excited to meet everyone, even me. She even complimented me on my hero training."
Kitsune smiled, and Uraraka knew that she should give her another chance.
"Besides, this Melissa girl seems like someone that just wants to get to know everyone. She might not have a lot of friends back home. Maybe you should consider that. She could just be lonely," Kitsune said to her.
Uraraka's eyes widened and realized that she's been so stupid about something. Her dad was arrested back on I-island. She completely forgot about that fact. She didn't know what was going on with him, but it seemed like he was still in jail or at least doing something to make up for what he did. She suddenly felt really bad for feeling this way towards her. She even felt like she needed to go talk to her right now, but stopped her from leaving.
"Kitsune. You're right. I need to talk to her."
