Epilogue

Kara wraps her arms loosely around Lena's waist, burying her face in the soft curve of her neck. "Hi, Mama," she murmurs, her voice low and warm, carrying the intimacy of a thousand quiet moments. She inhales deeply, taking in the familiar, comforting scent of Lena's shampoo and the soft fragrance of her skin—a scent that feels like home, grounding Kara in the warmth only Lena brings.

Lena turns, her lips curving as she reaches up to cup Kara's face, pulling her into a kiss that lingers, a touch more intense than perhaps it should be. "We're at the playground, baby" Kara laughs softly as they part, the world around them momentarily forgotten. "Unfortunately," Lena murmurs, unwilling to let go, her voice laced with playful mischief. Kara's gaze holds hers, teasing. "I like your hormones," she whispers, brushing a strand of hair from Lena's face. "Except when they kick me out of bed for ice cream at two in the morning."

Lena laughs softly, but before she can respond, a small, excited voice rings out across the playground.

"Mommy!" Noah calls, his voice bright with joy as he runs toward them, his arms stretched wide, his little legs pumping with all the energy he can muster.

Kara turns just in time, her eyes lighting up as she scoops him into her arms, lifting him high into the air. "There's my little star!" she exclaims, her voice full of warmth as she twirls him around, his laughter filling the air, bright and unrestrained. He giggles, his eyes sparkling with delight, clutching onto her shoulders as she spins, his small hands fisting into the fabric of her jacket, secure and fearless in her embrace.

When Kara finally stops, Noah rests his small hands on her shoulders, his gray eyes wide as he begins to chatter, his words spilling out with all the excitement of his day. "Mama and I went to see Granny, and we got ice cream, and I got to pick out a chair for the baby room!" He pauses, catching his breath before adding, "And I picked blue because blue's my favorite, but Mama said the baby might like green, so we got both!"

Kara nods, her face animated, listening as though he's sharing the most important story in the world. "Wow, that's a big decision, buddy," she says, eyes wide with playful awe. "I think your baby sister is going to love it."

Noah beams, his small fingers tracing the edge of Kara's collar as he speaks, a new thought springing to mind. "And I told Granny all about it, and she says I'm gonna be the best big brother ever!" His voice is proud, a little bashful, as if he's revealing a secret he's been holding just for her.

Lena watches, her heart swelling at the sight of Kara and Noah together, their bond so effortless, so natural. There's a lightness to Kara's laughter, a warmth in her smile that makes Lena's chest ache in the best way, filling her with a quiet, overwhelming love. She feels a tear prick at the corner of her eye, but she lets it stay, content in the softness of this moment, this side of Kara that only she and Noah get to see.

Kara presses a quick, affectionate kiss to Noah's forehead before setting him down, and with a grin, he's off again, dashing back to the playground, his laughter trailing behind him.

Kara's hand finds Lena's as they settle onto the nearby bench, the park quiet, bathed in the gentle light of early spring. Kara wraps an arm around Lena, her fingers tracing light, lazy circles along her shoulder as they watch Noah playing nearby. Every now and then, Lena's eyes flick toward him, a quiet worry softening her features.

"Noah!" she calls out, unable to hold back. "Careful, sweetheart!"

Kara chuckles, leaning close, her voice low and teasing. "Helicopter mom," she murmurs, earning a playful elbow to the ribs. Lena laughs, the sound bright and warm, and Kara can't help but savor it. "He's clever—our son won't get hurt," Kara adds, her voice gentle, as if the words are meant just for Lena. Lena feels a warmth in her chest, the thrill that always catches her when Kara calls Noah their son, claiming him as if he's always been theirs together.

Kara's hand moves slowly over Lena's, intertwining their fingers, grounding them both in the quiet, shared intimacy of the moment. Her other hand settles gently over Lena's belly, feeling the faint, rhythmic flutters beneath her fingertips, the delicate pulse of new life growing within. She leans over, placing a soft kiss on Lena's temple, her voice barely a whisper. "What do you think of the name Alana?"

Lena's gaze turns thoughtful, her fingers tracing small circles over Kara's hand. "Alana Luthor-Zor-El…" she says, savoring each syllable. "I like it. Let's add it to the list." Kara nods, a quiet smile spreading as she closes her eyes, letting the first warm rays of spring brush against her skin, mingling with Lena's warmth at her side.

They sit in peaceful silence, Kara's hand resting beneath Lena's blouse, feeling the gentle kicks and pulses of a future they are building together. The road that brought them here had been long, marked by storms and hard-won choices, but it had led them here: to a quiet park bench, where their son's laughter drifts toward them in the soft spring air. Lena leans against her, and Kara tightens her arm around her, feeling Noah's happiness close by and the soft, insistent heartbeat beneath her hand.

The old cravings that once haunted her have faded, replaced by one she welcomes: the pull to feel Lena's skin beneath her fingertips, the warmth left by her touch. Each evening, after a day filled with life's weight, she's guided home by the sound of three heartbeats, anchoring her to where her restless thoughts finally find peace, her only desire the love that surrounds her here, constant and steady, a beautiful addiction that's hers alone.

And that's a wrap! Honestly, OMG, I can't believe this is really the end…

If you made it this far, thank you for sticking with me through all the twists, turns, and (hopefully) satisfying moments of this story. Writing it has been an adventure, and I hope reading it felt the same way.

These characters and their world have been living in my head for quite some time, so it's a little bittersweet to say goodbye—for now, at least. Whether you laughed, cried, or yelled at the pages in frustration (I get it, some moments were a lot), I'm grateful you took the time to join me on this journey.

Thank you so much for all the reviews, follows and likes, it really means the world to me!

Here's to more stories, more drama, and maybe a little less chaos next time (no promises). Thanks for reading!
