Here is the twenty-seventh chapter released in accordance with my upload schedule for this story. Luffy has arrived in Marineford in classic Luffy fashion, falling from the sky with an eclectic collection of allies including a few former enemies and completely thrown a new wrench into the war by declaring that he'd be the one to save Ace. To top all that off he's confronted Whitebeard and acted like his equal all before he actually jumped in. Now he's done that and who knows what chaos that will bring, something that will benefit the Night Pirates for sure, but is this the end of the twists in this battler or are there more to come? Well let's find out as that I have for the administrative stuff that I have but there are two guest reviews that need responses so I will do that now. Do keep the reviews coming as your support is the best motivation for me to keep producing chapters at this kind of rate.

To Anon (guest), yeah they needed a breather there and Luffy's arrival certainly provided that for them but alas it must come to an end and the battle has to resume in earnest. If I ever do an origins series for each of the new crews, I'll explore more about how Akame fell for Tatsumi and show some of her jealousy there as she grapples with her feelings but yeah thanks to Tatsumi's confession and finally encountering and fighting Esdeath has Akame begun to address them at last. It would have been longer in a time of peace but such is not the case and she's going to have to really come to terms with things. That will come though, right now she needs to compartmentalize and focus on the task at hand, which she will do. Tatsumi's role with the crew is certainly evolving and all will be confirmed after the war, providing they all survive, but it is pretty clear what it will be. While Najenda might want someone more experienced, the others don't really fit the bill as Lubbock is too devoted to her and a skilled scout and trapper but not really a leader while Bulat is a great soldier but as seen by how Tatsumi maximized Incursio rather than him in the anime he's more a classic follower. Tatsumi by contrast has the leadership but above that he can bond them all together and bring out their best so I'm sure Najenda realized that early on and was just waiting for the right moment to confirm her suspicious about what he possessed, which have now been confirmed. He is also, as you noted, purer than the others in the sense that he's got no ties to anything beyond his crew seeing as the World Government killed all he held dear before he was rescued by the Night Pirates. They have nothing on him and have only made him hate them to the point he'll never join and between his Devil Fruit and Conqueror's Haki, he's an enemy they really shouldn't have made. As for your Luffy theory, it's certainly going to be tough for him in this battle, no doubt, and if he survives he'll have to reevaluate things and train hard. You aren't wrong, the other crews will shine and make a mark while Luffy is recovering as I have plans for time skip arcs for all 5 new crews were we see them each make moves and impacts in the New World while the Straw Hats are training but that's all I'll say for now. On the Ironwood front, he falls under the classic idea of the administrative Admiral, that is someone who's a good leader and planner but not an overwhelming fighter like the others. He's up there sure, he's an Admiral after all, but he's more about careful planning and thorough execution than just going in with lave, ice, or light. I didn't really think about Blackbeard facing him but that isn't a bad idea, I'll keep that in mind because if Blackbeard can best an Admiral, it will certainly add to his reputation so we'll see. Do keep reading and enjoying my work.

To KGBeastboy (guest), thank you for all your reviews and clarifications, I will address them now as best I can. On the Gentle and La Brava front, they aren't an easy pair I'll admit and your idea with them actually works better than what my initial plans were. There will be some changes to it to fit with my end goal for them as I do have that sorted, it's more the how they got there that was weak but the marines to Buggy Express to Dressrosa is a good idea and I'll see if that works. The Hajrudin point also works with what I have in mind and plays into something that will come from Dressrosa so we'll see how all that unfolds, thanks for the suggestion on this as it's helped streamline some things with Gentle and La Brava. As for the military draft idea, alas neither works or at least one is already kinda in motion. The one that doesn't work is Nozel, I've got set plans for him and that will be revealed in the Black Bulls' time skip arc so he can't be drafted though you're suggestion for his Devil Fruit is what he's going to have already, same for the name, so the description of it is nice to have for when it debuts and thus gets added to the Devil Fruit supplement. The code name would have of course worked well for him and I may still use it in a different context, we'll have to see how my plans for Nozel play out, along with those for Nebra and Solid so just stay tuned there though I will keep the general suggestions and him have personal justice in mind. As for Kama, he's already part of the World Government actually, I mentioned the Hungry Wolf Knight in the last chapter so he's there but the idea of his squad being transferred into the marines isn't one I'd thought so that could work. He wouldn't be an Admiral candidate though, I've already got plans for who will represent Fairy Tail in the coming Admiral Promotion Battle Royale I'm planning, but I can see him being a Vice Admiral if things play out and the ideas for his scythes, their names, and his personal justice all work. That said, I'd probably make his scythes Great Grade Blades not Supreme Grade. I've already got my 5 new Supreme Grade ones and while his scythes are canon, there's a reason behind at least 4 of the Supreme Grade ones and the 5th is already in the story so I'm keeping it at that but there are spaces for Great Grade Blades so they'd fit in there. The code name is interesting though, I may keep it as his pre-marine name/nickname within the marines when he joins. I can't comment on the reasons, all of that will be made clear during the Black Bulls and Fairy Tail time skip arcs. With Buggy, that makes total sense with him and I can play that into the story if/when it's needed, it's classic misunderstandings for him so it works. There's a place where I can go into it during the time skip, a few actually, so I'll keep it in mind. Finally the Akame suggestion, it's not a bad one though the biggest thing isn't the idea it's the flow of the story and what exactly she's up to at the moment Ace is freed as I'm not sure yet due to the chaotic nature of this battle. It does fit Akame's personality to spare them, they're just grunts and she's not a monster so if she saw the genuine love there then she'd know that they had potential and allow them with her usual bit about not forgetting this or their bond because it's something precious. The play to Kurome will help there but as I said, this one is more a flow of the story thing than anything else. As always thanks for all the ideas and do keep reading and enjoying my work.

That is it for this really long pre-chapter note so sit back and enjoy the twenty-seventh chapter in The Ultimate Worst Generation.

Chapter 27: Chaos of Straw Hat Luffy

Initially the charge to follow Straw Hat and aid him went pretty much as expected. Tatsumi and Akame were a fair bit away from where their fellow Super Rookie was and while they were technically closer to the plaza as the crow flew then Luffy, they decided to cut across the ice to provide support for Straw Hat. Of course as they did others fell in with, or around, Luffy, mainly Whitebeard's Third and Fourteenth Divisions as they were already in the vicinity and were already helping all while Sengoku continued to give orders which included expediting the execution.

That part wasn't relevant to Akame and Tatsumi, though of course if it came to it they'd try to save Ace as part of the boss's deal with Whitebeard, as their goal was take out as many of their targets as possible. Of course that had shifted slightly because Tatsumi had also decided to aid Straw Hat Luffy as he was their best bet to that so they just ran over the ice towards him cutting down any marine that got in their way.

This kept up for a few minutes until, as they were almost within striking distance of Straw Hat if they used Shave, there was a flash of light and a boom right by the rubble that Oars Jr. had created that got their attention. The pair didn't stop running but they did turn to it just as several beams of yellow light shot from the dust and formed in front of it to reveal who'd attacked the pirates that were trying to use Oars Jr's body to get into the plaza.

"Kizaru." Tatsumi growled as the Admiral stood on the ice looking out over the battle and asking the pirates near him if he thought that he'd let them pass. "Figured that he'd return to the battlefield at some point."

"Yeah, speed wise he's the fasted of the Admirals and after her little stunt Esdeath's no doubt on a short leash though like with Akainu she'll be released if need be." Akame said as she looked and then turned to see that Kizaru was directly in front of Straw Hat as he ran. "Er, Tatsumi, that's not good. Straw Hat may be made of rubber, but without Armament Haki I don't think he can't stop that light."

"Yeah and it looks like Luffy isn't stopping." Tatsumi said as Kizaru raised his foot, light glowing on the sole and pointing at Straw Hat as he continued to run directly at Kizaru despite the blatant danger in front of him though he did seem to acknowledge it by shouting something at the Admiral that the pair couldn't hear over the sounds of the battle around. "I can't tell if he's stupid, determined, ballsy, or just batshit insane because he's not deviating from his path."

"Whatever it is, can you get there?" Akame asked as Tatsumi sheathed his sword so that he could focus. "He can't take a blow but after Sabaody I know that you can."

"Yeah, this may not be pleasant but it will at least help just make sure you redirect him around the Admiral." Tatsumi said as he focused and combined what he'd done to save Akame from Esdeath with his own Mythical Zoan enhanced speed and pushed off the ice with enough force to crack it. "Shave!"

"Death Wink!"

The second cry came a second after Tatsumi blurred forward as Akame took his words to heart and right as the beam of light was fired. Even with all that was going on, Akame was in a position to see everything that had happened. As such she saw that the second attack came from Emporio Ivankov and hit Luffy in the side but from such a distance, and if Akame had to guess with a great degree of control, it didn't hurt Straw Hat. Rather it blasted him to the side and out of the way of the attack. Luffy let out a yell as he was hurtled away and hit the ice but he was clearly otherwise fine.

At the same time, Tatsumi reached the point a few feet in front of where Luffy had been and crossed his arms over his chest just as his body swelled right before the blast hit him. There was a boom as a dome of light burst form the impact and air and dust was blown around. During this Tatsumi noticed that the clown who'd been with Straw Hat was nearby and complaining that he wanted to go home from it, which of course the escaped convicts with him, and who now were blindly and fanatically loyal to him, misinterpreted as him wanting to kill Kizaru so that they could go home.

Tatsumi heard this, as well as that the clown was apparently called Captain Buggy making him a pirate captain though Tatsumi had never heard of him before, and grinned as the dust cleared. It looked like Tatsumi had found a volunteer to help him out so that he could go back to backing up Straw Hat while Kizaru was distracted by this Buggy guy. That and he really didn't want to fight Kizaru because while he'd just proven what he presumed to be true was in fact true, he really didn't want to tangle with another Admiral at the moment.

"Are you still breathing over there, Straw Boy?" Iva asked as the dust cleared and Luffy gasped on his chest on the ice and safely out of the blast zone of Kizaru's attack. "That was stupid, if I hadn't been there what would have happened?"

"Oh he wasn't in danger." Tatsumi called out and Iva turned. "I got there in time to take that blast. Figured that Straw Hat is the best bet that me and my crewmates have of accomplishing our goals so we're joining you in backing him up."

"What do you…" Iva began before gaping at what he saw. "Damn, what are you?"

Iva meant it because right where the blast would have hit Straw Boy, was another teen about his age wearing only ripped shorts with a sword strapped to his back. That wasn't the strange thing though, no that was reserved for the fact that the kid was around 7 feet tall and covered in thick, segmented, dark gray, plates with ice cracked around his feet.

Over Tatsumi's head, a draconic helm complete with spikes on the sides and a longer one in the middle had formed that completed covered his face leaving only his glowing red eyes visible in the blackness of it, though that part was only visible to Kizaru who was blinking at it as well. Kizaru could also see that there were cracks on the forearm and chest plates that had blocked his light but that was it.

"Man that was close." Luffy said as he got up to his hands and knees getting Iva's attention again while Tatsumi remained where he was. "Hey Iva, thanks for that, yeah I'm still breathing. Well, see ya!"

At that, and while everyone was still processing things, Luffy got up and ran off using the distraction to his advantage as he continued to head towards the plaza only this time he made sure not to be in the direct path of Kizaru. He didn't even look back or notice Tatsumi there.

"See ya!" Iva yelled back as Luffy continued to run away from him. "Do you realize that I'm only here because I've gotta save your rubber butt?! What would your father think if I let you die! Well, at least I saved you though admittedly I had help from someone else, thanks by the way, but still a little self-awareness would be nice."

"He's already gone." Tatsumi said as Akame closed in on them having opted not to use Shave to close the distance. "And I'll be too, I got no desire to tangle with another Admiral today unless I absolutely have to."

"Now, now, I've got you here at least so I can't let you leave." Kizaru said "I thought I saw the monster around. Seems like you've gotten tougher since we last met. Like Straw Hat, you seem to get around."

As Kizaru spoke the plates on Tatsumi's arms and chest fell off and crashed to the ice in several pieces while the others retracted into his body and he shrunk back to his normal human size. What Tatsumi had done wasn't actually his true hybrid form, though that like his beast form was subject to some degree of change whenever he used it, but rather something similar to what Marco could do with his power by activating part of his power to protect himself. In this case Tatsumi had done so to block Kizaru's attack as he was pretty sure it would do that after taking an attack in Sabaody.

"Your problem was that you went for the capture with me, not the kill like you should have." Tatsumi grinned as he started at Kizaru and raised his hand to point to a small, circular, scar on the upper right side of his chest while everyone around gaped. "Surely an Admiral would know the ins and outs of my Devil Fruit. After all, one of your number is in love with me and if you'd captured me you would have played right into her hands."

"Damn that kid just took a direct blast from Kizaru as if it was nothing." One of the pirates said. "That's nuts!"

"Just who is that rookie?" Another asked.

"Yeah, first he stands up to Shirokami and shows that he has Conqueror's Haki." A third said. "And then he transforms and gets her to reveal her Devil Fruit."

"Then he catches and toss her ice back." A fourth added. "All while in some monstrous beast form."

"And backed up Little Oars." A fifth said. "Taking care of at least 5 giants!"

"Plus that dragon lady." A sixth finished. "Damn, glad he's on our side. It really pays to have multiple Mythical Zoans supporting Pops."

"I see, the legends about Tyrant's ability to adapt to what it experiences are true then." Kizaru said ignoring the mutterings of the other pirates as he looked at Tatsumi. "You're right, I should have killed you but my light can get stronger so all you've done is adapt to an attack I wouldn't use in the New World. Tyrant may be hard to kill, according to the legends, but it's not impossible to kill it."

"I don't doubt any of that which is why that Captain Buggy guy over there has volunteered to take my place and fight you." Tatsumi said using the name he'd heard and jerking his thumb towards the sound and causing said Captain Buggy's jaw to drop as he let out a choked gasp at Tatsumi's words. "He'll take care of you. I'm busy but thanks for proving how tough I am, between you, Esdeath, and those giants my reputation's going to be good heading into the New World."

"Gah! Why you little bastard whoever you are!" Buggy yelled as Kizaru glanced over and Tatsumi used that to run after Straw Hat with a silent apology to the other pirate but he had more important things to do than get bogged down with Kizaru. "You're almost as bad as Straw Hat!"

"Captain Buggy!" One of the escapees said tears in his eyes and hands clasped in front of him as if in prayer as he looked at Buggy. "How noble of you. After someone you don't know saved your dear friend Straw Hat you've been so moved by his actions that you've decided to stand in for him and let him support Straw Hat while you deal with Kizaru for him."

"What!" Buggy yelled. "How did you come to that conclusion!"

"That's the spirit Captain!" A second escapee said. "You're such an inspiration to us! We'll follow you to the bitter end Captain Buggy!"

"I have no idea what's going on now." Iva admitted as Buggy's men devolved into praising him while Mr. 3 tried and failed to get them to stop enabling and misunderstanding Buggy and Buggy himself tried to protest. "But so long as Kizaru isn't threatening Straw Boy I don't mind."

"It's chaos, pure and simple." A female voice said getting Iva's attention. "Seems like Straw Hat is an expert at causing that. Not that I mind, chaos works well for what I'm here to do."

"You don't know the half of it girl." Iva said turning to the voice. "You should have…ah!"

Iva hadn't realized who'd spoken until he turned and saw a girl with long black hair and holding a long, blood stained, katana standing where Straw Boy had been after Iva had knocked him out of the way with his Death Wink. She may be in black now and not white and red like the photos that Iva had seen of her but he recognized her and leapt up his eyes wide and arms up ready to fight as he leapt back from her.

"I see, so you had intel on the Elite 7 and recognize me, that's not a surprise given who you follow seeing as Dragon was always pretty good at gathering information on the secrets of the World Government." Akame said as she looked at Iva who was still in the air from his leap back. "But you were locked up before I defected so you wouldn't know that I'm no longer your enemy. Here, this will prove that we're on the same side now."

With that Akame reached her free left hand into one of her belt pouched and pulled out a folded piece of brown paper. She then tossed it at Iva before firing a small, specially made, blade from her left palm at it that hit the paper and stuck in it as it sped the paper up so that it landed at Iva's feet as he landed on the ice and stuck there.

Iva was still wary, he knew about the Elite 7 as the Revolutionary Army's spies had uncovered who each was and that included the one known as the One Strike Murderer, Akame. The raven hair, blood red eyes, and long katana were the give aways for her but the fact that an assassin like her was standing on an open battlefield and had not already killed Iva was confusing enough that he bent down and tore the paper off the blade and rose, opening it before blinking at it. The now torn paper was a wanted poster for Akame with a 255 million berry bounty and a description of her defection and many crimes.

Of course it could be a ruse but as if to prove it, Akame turned and swiped her left arm and four blades shot out of it and tore over the battlefield before hitting four marines that were trying to intercept Straw Boy as he ran straight for the plaza and Ace Boy. One of the marines was taken in the side of the head and killed outright, two were hit in the sides, and the last in the thigh but all went down. The cold, clean, ruthless attack was indicative of what Iva had heard about Akame, though he'd been unaware of the fact that she was a Devil Fruit user, but the way she'd done it to marines showed that she'd truly defected.

"Very well, I believe…" Iva began.

However, before Iva could say anymore there was a priming sound and a bright light suddenly burst to life from atop the harbor wall got their attention causing them all to turn to it with Iva letting go of Akame's wanted poster in the process. Given the light there was only one person who Iva thought it could be.

"Damn it Kizaru." Iva said not realizing that Kizaru had simply blasted away Buggy and his entourage with a beam of light meant for the clown during Iva's little chat with Akame but which Buggy had avoided with his Chop-Chop powers so it hit the ice and sent them all flying before retreating to deal with a few of the other pirates that were charging for the plaza. "Wait, no…"

Iva had been stalled because his eyes had adjusted to the brightness and now the light was showing the silhouette of a tall man with a broad chest, thin limbs, and small head. There was only one person with that silhouette that Iva knew and it was one of the people he knew best in the world.

"That's Kuma!" Iva said his eyes wide as he fully processed things. "Since when can he do that!"

"Hey, that's the big bear guy who sent all my friends flying on Sabaody and shot me across the sea." Luffy said pausing his own charge for the plaza as he watched the attack. "He's here!"

"He is a Warlord." Akame said as Kuma blasted the laser out of his mouth and at Iva forcing him to leap up and out of the way of it while Tatsumi just ignored what was going on and plowed into a group of marines in front of Straw Hat with his sword drawn to help clear Luffy's path. "So makes sense that he'd be here for this."

"Rolling Spa!" Iva yelled as he spun in the air avoiding several more shots that hit the ice and caused smaller explosions than Kizaru's one before landing and glaring at his old friend as he panted from the effort of dodging the attacks. "Bartholomew Kuma! You heartless bastard! I know that you have a role to play as one of the 11 Warlords but still, you've been my friend for years and now you fire a laser at me? Not to mention when did you get a laser! Hey, are you even looking…"

Before Iva could finish he was interrupted by another laser shot from Kuma's mouth that just missed Iva's head but cut out a chunk of his hair on the left side of his head. It then hit the ice and blew up behind Iva as he pointed open mouthed at Kuma.

"My hair!" Iva yelled. "How dare you hurt my hair!"

"Iva!" Luffy shouted.

"How did he miss that head?" Akame asked a note of confusion creeping into her voice. "That's actually impressively bad shooting to accomplish that. With a head that size I think Mine could hit it from more than 3k out if she wanted."

"Quit gawking, I've got this one, leave it to me Straw Boy." Iva said now fully focused on Kuma and completely forgetting that Akame was even there. "I'll deal with Kuma while you run your skinny legs to Ace Boy! You've got others backing you up, let them help as well."

"If you say so." Luffy said leaving the bear guy to Iva and he began to move unaware of who Iva was referring to as he'd not seen the others though Akame was still behind him and Tatsumi was now off to the side cutting down a group of marines that had tried to use Kuma's distraction to charge at them without mercy. "Thanks for all this Iva, you're the best!"

"Let's do this!" Iva shouted as he looked at Kuma. "You've pissed me off Kuma! I'm not going to let this slide! Not after what you did to my hair!"

Akama got the feeling that it would be best to leave Kuma to Iva and turned to follow Straw Hat again. She was glad that she did because as soon as she did she heard the sound of a spinning, bladed weapon, sailing through the air at Straw Hat showing that another enemy was targeting him.

Instantly, Akame's highly trained senses quickly locked onto it and noticed that it was a pair of spinning disks that were swinging in on Luffy as he ran. Blades would work on a Rubber Man but Akame was already acting as she her left arm up while running behind Straw Hat and fired a stream of blades of her own out of her palm as she moved.

There was no point in trying to match the disks blade to blade, even with her own high accuracy with her blades, Akame was running, the blades were swinging in the air in an unpredictable but clearly accurate pattern, and were an odd shape with holes in the middle so she couldn't hit them with a single shot. As such, it was easier to go for the spray and pray method with her Blade-Blade powers and clatter her blades into the disks to knock them away.

That was exactly what happened and with a series of clangs the disks were knocked off course by Akame's defense long before they would have reached Straw Hat. In fact, not only did he not have to avoid them but he didn't even notice that they were coming for him in the first place.

On top of that, there was an added benefit of the attack though one that Akame hadn't anticipated and that was the attacker that had followed the disks. Clearly whoever threw them, and Akame had to admit that the thrower was skilled with them, had a trusted partner who was an expert in close combat that had leapt after the disks to engage either a wounded or distracted Straw Hat with his fists. It was a clever strategy combining range with close combat but the man hadn't anticipated that someone would be covering Luffy from behind and that that someone had a Devil Fruit power that gave her ranged combat capabilities.

As such the man, a recruit based on his navy blue shirt and marine hat with no formal uniform or coat if Akame had to guess, was already in the air his right fist cocked back. To top it off, and reinforce that he was some kind of close combat specialist, he had what looked like a pair knuckledusters of sorts on his fists though Akame couldn't make out the details of them.

Not that that mattered to her as before he could even shout several of the blades that Akame had streamed out to intercept the disks and which had missed them inadvertently found a new target in the follow up attacker. They weren't long blades, Akame had gone for quantity above lethality to increase her chances of hitting and deflecting the disks away, so unless she hit his heart they wouldn't kill but they still found their mark.

As such, a good dozen blades slammed into the man's right thigh, abdomen, upper right chest, right bicep, and shoulder causing him to let out a gasp of pain and fall back, his momentum still carrying him forward but no longer able to fight as he crashed hard, back first, into the ice blood streaming up from his wounds as he fell. He lay there groaning in pain with his blood staining the ice around him but Luffy just leapt over him without recognizing the man as the guy Sanji had beaten up at the Baratie and not carrying what had happened as his goal was getting to Ace.

Meanwhile, three of the marines who had been standing where the man had leapt from took minor wounds from falling blades that had missed both their comrade and the disks and so fell back and out of Straw Hat's way. There was a fourth man in a loud purple and yellow shirt and marine bucket hat who had been with them but he'd run to the side to get his disks as he'd been the one to throw them so he'd gotten out of the way but he'd turned back to see the damage that Akame's blades had caused.

"Fullbody!" The man yelled as Luffy continued running. "What ha…"

He didn't finish his question as Akame tossed her katana to her left hand and flicked her right wrist sending a longer, more lethal, blade out of her palm and at the disk thrower as he picked up the disks and yelled to his friend. Thanks to Akame he'd been unable to enact his plan to get Straw Hat's attention to hypnotize him, and now that wouldn't happen at all as her blade slammed into the right side of his chest, through his right lung, and shot out of his back in a spray of blood that caused him to yell in pain and fall back gravely wounded but alive, well so long as he got medical attention right away that is.

The blade carried on as the man fell and proceeded to hit a marine behind him in the back taking him out as well, not that Akame noticed as she carried on running behind Straw Hat. She knew that the man was out of the fight, as was the brawler she'd hit first, and continued in Luffy's wake whole noting that Tatsumi was back to being in front of Straw Hat and continuing to clear a path for him.

However, between Tatsumi and Luffy a new figure had stepped forward to block the latter's path. This newcomer was a pink haired woman in a red jacket with gold edging that showed off some cleavage and matching pants under an officer's coat, a lit cigarette in her mouth and shades on her head.

Akame recognized the woman right away as Captain Hina. She'd known of the woman when she'd still been a slave assassin for the World Government and the boss had known Hina well in her Navy days so she knew that the Captain was a good and true marine, and a close friend of Smoker, who used some kind of cage based Devil Fruit. As such, Hina was on the 'Do Not Kill' list however that didn't prevent her from injury and Akame was going to make sure of that so that Hina would be out of the battle but still able to be a marine in the future.

"Worthless sacks of crap." Hina spat as she reached the groaning Fullbody and kicked him to the side and towards the injured and barely conscious Jango as she took the cigarette out of her mouth and exhaled. "So disappointing, the pair of you. Medics, get them back to HQ, they're out of this war. I'll deal with their quick defeats later."

"Get out of my way." Luffy said as he ran at Hina recognizing her as well though in a different context to Akame. "I remember, you're that annoying cage chick from Alabaster who captured Bon. I don't have time to play games with you people!"

"Don't worry, I never play games." Hina said as she put the cigarette back in her mouth. "I'm going to make up for my failure in Alabaster. Kimone Sleeve Cage!"

At that she thrust her arms out to her sides and black iron bars shot out of her hands with smaller bars coming down perpendicular from them at even intervals. Luffy didn't stop running but Akame did and even backed up several paces to make sure that she was clear of the bars should Hina bring her arms in all while using Straw Hat's body and the focus he commanded to conceal her own presence from Hina.

"Anyone who tries to pass through me will be bound by the bars of my black cage and never allowed out!" Hina said. "So…"

"I'm done with being behind bars." Luffy shouted, interrupting Hina as he came to a stop, crouched down, and Akame saw his legs coil down which had to be an application of his Devil Fruit especially because whatever Straw Hat had done had caused his body to turn pink and steam to come off him. "Second Gear!"

Akame had no idea what Straw Hat was doing as he could have just run and leapt over Hina but it seemed that he felt that this was more effective than continuing to run. That was confirmed a second later as Straw Hat used Shave, or some approximation of it that employed whatever he'd just done to turn his body pink, to leap up and over Hina before she could move her arms in.

A split second later, Straw Hat reappear in the air well past and above Hina. It was a fast move and Akame nodded in approval understanding why he'd paused as Luffy was now well clear of Hina. It also distracted the Navy Captain as Hina had turned her head as Luffy passed her. That was just what Akame needed and she used that distraction to make her own move and rushing forward while Hina's head was turned before activating Shave herself as she bent low and held Murasame in a two handed grip to her side.

"So fast! Was that Shave?" Hina asked as she looked up and finally saw Luffy in the air behind her. "I couldn't follow him at all. Hina f…"

"Captain, look out!" A marine yelled. "He wasn't alone!"

Hina turned back her eyes wide as Akame all but materialized from her Shave sprint in front of her with her katana low and across her body. However, before Hina could do anything Akame had activated Shave again and shot past Hina and under her outstretched right arm.

As Akame did, she slashed Murasame in a controlled slash up and across Hina's abdomen from just above her right hip to just below her left breast almost taking a part of Hina's under boob off in the process. The cut was clean, controlled, and precise and Akame's increased speed came to an end on the other side of Hina a split second later, her katana out to her right hand side and Hina's blood dripping off the edge and tip to stain the ice below.

For her part Hina let out a gasp of pain her eyes wide and the cages from her hands shooting back in as blood sprayed out of the wound in an arc. The pain was so great that Hina could barely process it as she fell to her knees, her cigarette fell from her mouth in the process, as she brought her gloved hands to her gut before pulling away her right hand to see it covered in blood though her outfit and black gloves hid how bad it was.

"Don't worry, that wound won't kill you, I made sure that it wasn't deep enough to disembowel or bisect." Akame said her voice cold as she raised Murasame up before flicking it to the side to clean the blood off it as best she could. "But there's no way that it won't leave scar. Let that serve as a reminder that you were spared today and by one who's killed more marines then she can count. My Captain recognizes you as true marine who's committed to Actual Justice even if you don't realize it yourself so I didn't kill you because the marines need men and women like you to rebuild. Don't forget that, Captain Hina."

Hina barely heard the words being spoken to her as she looked down at her bloody hand her eyes still wide. Akame didn't care if she did or not, she was just making it clear to any who could hear why Hina had been sparred when Akame could have easily killed her and that Hina would now have a permanent reminder of that. Now that that was over, though, Akame on in Straw Hat's wake while Hina just let out a gasp and pitched forward to fall face first into the ice as consciousness slipped from her just as a medic team reached them to take her, Fullbody, and Jango off the battlefield.

Naturally Akame didn't see any of this as she pressed on towards the plaza. She'd done her part with Hina just as Tatsumi had with Ryukyu or what any of them would do for others that they encountered that were on the 'Do Not Kill' list. There were plenty more valid targets whose deaths would make the world better for them to go after anyway and Akame pressed on using the chaos of Straw Hat Luffy to her advantage as she followed him.

Of course Straw Hat had gotten further ahead of Akame as she'd been dealing with Hina and the aftermath of her attack so she'd been unable to clear his path as a marine with a spiked mace slammed Luffy's head into the ice with said mace but he recovered quickly and after an initial block by the marine was able to recover and kick the man in the head. Judging by the suits that the marines were wearing they were officers and pretty strong so Akame hurried after him keeping a close eye on her fellow rookie.

As she ran, Akame watched as Luffy managed to avoid a sword swipe and fell forward from it. However, rather than let that affect him, he used the momentum from it to plant his hands on the ice spin on his palms in a handstand while using his Devil Fruit power to whip his legs around and kick the man in the side of the head sending him flying while complaining at how strong the people he was facing were.

The officer fell to the side as Straw Hat was complaining and he didn't bother to look back at the man as he pressed on while Akame flicked her left wrist and sent two blades into the downed officer's chest as he lay on his back. She used Shave again and closed the distance to where the officer had been downed by Straw Hat before pivoting on the ice and putting her back to Luffy as she slid and placed herself between the teen who was running towards the plaza and two more charging officers.

Luffy didn't notice any of this and that was fine with Akame as it freed him up to carry on forward and past a field of marine corpses that Tatsumi had left in his own wake and towards a large, bulbous, onion looking man with a scar down his throat, horns on his head and pale blue skin who was standing on the broken rubble of the plaza wall that Oars Jr. had caused. It would appear that the Warlord Gecko Moria had decided to step into Luffy's way and face him.

Of course Tatsumi was too far to the side now to be of use there as Moria had arrived after Tatsumi had killed the marines there while Akame was facing off with a blue suited officer carrying a large katana and one in a reddish brown suit carrying a long pole arm to help Straw Hat at the moment. Not that that would be an issue as with his bounty Akame was sure that Straw Hat could handle a Warlord like Moria and besides, and unknown to them, Jimbei was nearby and ready to help Luffy should he need it while Akame dealt with two pursuers.

"Shit, it's the Blade Princess." The blue suited one said as he recognized Akame standing in his path, katana up and in front of her in a two handed grip and at the ready. "She's a notorious marine killer."

"She's protecting Straw Hat." The red suited one added. "I didn't know that they knew each other!"

"We don't but Tatsumi said to help Straw Hat and right now he's the boss so that's what I'm going to do." Akame said knowing that she was too close to use her Devil Fruit effectively, and wanting to keep it up her sleeve just in case, so instead she coated her hands in Armament Haki before extending it to Murasame as she stood there. "It does help us kill more of you meat shields for the world's true enemies after all."

"Fine by me, I'll get a lot of praise and maybe even a promotion for killing you bitch!" The blue one said as he raised his katana above the right side of his head and brought it down as he reached her several paces ahead of his colleague. "Just wait till I…"

He didn't finish because as he raised his katana in a telegraphed attack, Akame shifted her right leg back and twisted as she brought Murasame low and to her right hand side. Then, as the man brought his katana down she brought hers up in a swift move that was just a blur of steel to intercept it. The moment that her Haki coated, Supreme Blade, katana slammed into his at best Grade Grade katana that the officer was using it was over as her vastly superior katana shattered the inferior one before carrying on up as if it hadn't just done that. Akame deduced that it wasn't even that level of sword if it shattered like that.

However, between the angle, height differences, and disparity in the lengths of their respective katanas, all Murasame was able to do was slice into the man's right peck and out of his shoulder rather than bisect him. Still, Akame's katana cut deep and he let out a bellow of pain as he staggered back from it, the handle of his shattered sword falling from his hand and blood running down his chest. He then tripped on the ice and fell onto his ass as he tried to get clear of Akame.

Akame didn't see this though as she'd used the move to spin and get her still Haki coated katana up and intercept a powerful downward strike from the red suited officer's pole arm who she'd been able to sense approaching with her Observation Haki. The blades intercepted and sparked but while a crack appeared on his it held as Akame hadn't been able to put force behind her move, mainly because it was a block and not a strike, to shatter the inferior blade. Not that that mattered as she had the officer right where she wanted as he pushed against her black.

"Damned bitch." Red suit snarled down at her as he tried to break through her defense but couldn't. "You'll…"

The man didn't finish before he suddenly gasped and blood spewed from his mouth and over Akame's head due to their height difference to splatter on the ground behind her. He looked down to see several dark stains on his suit that where growing while his strength began to leave him, his brain unable to process the sudden development.

"I may be a swordswoman, and a damned good one at that, who prefers her katana but that's not all that I am." Akame said as she slid her now no longer Haki coated blade along his and then knocked it to the side as there was no resistance before the pole arm fell from the officer's limp hands as he stared at her. "You forgot that I'm a fucking Devil Fruit user as well!"

With that Akame brought Murasame back as she slid her right leg back again only this time instead of slashing upwards, she kept her katana at shoulder height and pointing at the officer before she suddenly thrust it up and into the man's chest and through his heart. He was too far back for the blade to burst out of his back but that worked better for Akame as all she needed to do was hit his heart so as soon as she knew she had, she yanked back sending a spray of blood from the wound causing him to fall backwards. He was dead before he hit the ground.

As he was falling, Akame turned and walked past him and towards blue suit who was now staring at her in shock. He'd seen the block and then the half dozen blades that had shot out of the Blade Princess's chest and into his colleague's chest before bursting out of his back.

Akame had used the block to give her an opening to use her Devil Fruit in close quarters and now the red suited officer was dead and the blue suited on backing up on his ass away from her, one hand over his wound the other on the ice to steady himself as he tried to get free. However, fear wasn't helping him as he stared at the young woman walking towards him, blood dripping from the katana in her right hand that was pointed at the ice to her side and coldness in her red eyes.

"If you knew who I was then you should have known that I wield a Supreme Grade sword, or at least the World Government should have let you know that I did, so your katana was no match for mine." Akame said her tone neutral as she walked towards him while behind her Luffy dealt with the zombies that Moria was sending at him and getting nowhere while more marines made their way to him from a direction that Tatsumi wasn't all while Kizaru stood behind them giving orders. "I may be a murderer but I'm not a sadist, I don't like killing so I'll make this quick. You'll rest in pieces soon."

"Wait, please, have mercy!" The officer shouted as he moved his arm from his wound and held it out in front of her, his own blood smeared on his left hand as he stopped moving back and Akame got the feeling that this officer had never really faced an opponent who could best him outside of the Navy. "I'm wounded, I'm out of the fight, if you don't like killing there's no need to kill me then. Plus, I saw you a moment ago, you spared Captain Hina didn't you, please spare me as well."

"I spared her because it was the boss's orders to do so if I could manage it, you have no such orders which means that you've done nothing to prove that you are a true marine." Akame said coldly as she closed in on the marine. "Given the suit, you're an officer so you must know at least some of the truths of this world. I wonder, how many innocents begged you for mercy when you were slaughtering them for nothing more than not paying their Heavenly Tribute or simply being associated with another criminal through blood or community? Perhaps you didn't get your hands dirty but I bet you ordered your men to so in those situations at least."

"They were enemies, traitors of the World Government who were being met with justice!" The officer said getting desperate now as he pleaded with Akame. "That's the law, I was just following orders. Collective and generational guilt and all that. I didn't command anyone to execute people, only carried out the order!"

"Yes, I'm aware, it's one of the many things that is so abhorrent about the World Government." Akame said her eyes hardening as she recalled how all of Tatsumi's people were slaughtered just because they'd protected a Devil Fruit which only the elders were aware of and which shouldn't be a crime but because of that the man she admired the most, and knew how she truly felt about in her heart, had lost everything in one night. "I once was like that, blindly following orders because I thought it was the right thing to do, and now I'm atoning for that by taking out people like you who are complicit in them. If you don't stand up to them or defy them then you're just as guilty because you know it's wrong and do nothing."

"Wait, please." The officer said. "I…"

He didn't get to finish before Akame got in range and Murasame sang through the air. Thanks to the man sitting down, and already being quite tall to begin with, he was in a good position for her and she took his head from his shoulders in a single quick and clean strike. The officer's arm flopped down as his body fell back, blood gushing from the stump and staining the ice while his head arched away.

Akame didn't see this though as she'd turned with the slice and flicked her blade clean, well as clean as she could at the moment, before looking back to where Straw Hat was. he'd been engaged by several marines that had managed to reach him and was now struggling with them as they tried to overwhelm him with numbers while a horde of zombies were behind them and Moria stood on some rubble overlooking the zombies and cackling as he did. It was an interesting sight but Akame wasn't phased by it at all.

"Right, back to work." Akame said as she tensed her legs to push off in a sprint and engage the marines attacking Straw Hat to free him to deal with the zombies and Moria. "More to…"

"Luffy no! Stay back! Please!"

The voice was Ace's and it was another loud shout that rang out across the battlefield from where he was on the scaffold. That stilled Akame's hand and she looked over towards Ace and she wasn't the only one. Luffy noted it and elsewhere on the battlefield, Tatsumi, Hancock, Iva, and others looked over as well to see what was going on now as Ace once again tried to get Luffy to stop his rescue mission it seemed while Whitebeard stared at the situation from where he was on the bow of the Moby Dick.

"What the hell do you think you're doing Luffy?!" Ace shouted into the silence his first shout had caused and as he continued to yell at Luffy fighting resumed in some areas while Tatsumi began to loop around to Akame using the distraction to fall back to her as the latest attacks on Straw Hat weren't coming from the area he was in. "You only became a pirate in the first place because it was what I wanted! You only even went to sea because you were following me and my lead! However, I've got my own damned life to live now and it's without you in it! Just like you I've already got enough of my own friends; I don't need you! Don't you get it! Stay the hell away from me! That's what I want!"

Akame just watched as Ace spoke, a few commented on it but the battle was resuming and even Luffy himself wasn't standing still now as Ace shouted at him showing just how unaffected he was by Ace's words. Instead, he was back to charging for Ace clearly not caring about them, or just simply ignoring them.

"A scrawny wimp like you really wants to save me? Huh?" Ace asked as Luffy punched marines out of his way as he continued to run towards the plaza. "What the hell makes you even think that I'd want something like that? Well? That's just humiliating to me so go home, Luffy! I didn't ask for any of this from you!"

Ace ended there, his teeth clenched and eyes closed as he bowed his head. Akame heard the words that Fire Fist was saying but there was something off about them to her, as if the plea wasn't mean but rather desperate, a last ditch effort to get Luffy to stop his mission but for what ends or why he was doing that Akame didn't know.

"Ace!" Luffy shouted as he ran showing that he'd at least heard Ace's words despite the fighting he was doing. "I don't care about what you said, I'm going to save you because you're my brother!"

"Huh, that explains everything then." Akame noted as gasps rang out at Luffy's declaration and Tatsumi finally reached her while elsewhere marines were questioning the news of the relationship between Luffy and Ace and how it pertained to Ace being the son of Gol D. Roger as it made no sense given that both of Ace's parents died before Luffy was born. "I was wondering why Ace was saying all that and this confirms it."

"Confirms what?" Tatsumi asked as he came to a stop next to her, Akame had sensed him approaching and so she didn't react to his arrival other than a small smile that he was back by her side. "Also what do you mean by explains everything?"

"When Ace shouted at Luffy I felt that it wasn't mean but rather a desperate plea from the heart." Akame explained as Luffy shouted at Ace that he didn't give a damn what he wanted because he was here to save Ace while Ace accurately called Luffy a stubborn jackass. "It was out of love not hate that he did that. We're on a battlefield, a dangerous and bloody one that contains some of the strongest people in the world at that, so the chance of death is ludicrously high."

"Yeah, we've kinda caused a lot of that ourselves." Tatsumi said and Akame looked to him and noted that he was even bloodier than before, as was his sword, but could tell that none of it was his. "But what of it? That is the nature of battle, death is inevitable for many today."

"True but Ace, being the big brother, is trying to look out for Luffy." Akame said as Moria sent out his zombies to attack and capture Luffy while Luffy was occupied by several Navy officers. "He wants to save his brother and not see him die on the battlefield like so many others already have. Perhaps he expects his execution to take place or that he'll die some other way if he's freed by his crewmates and has made peace with it but he wants Luffy to live. Naturally, Luffy doesn't give a shit about that and is trying to save his big brother."

"Ok that makes sense and you'd understand more than I would." Tatsumi said deferring to Akame on this front. "Even if, well…"

"Yeah I know that I can't save Kurome, she's too badly conditioned and her addiction is far too strong to break I fear." Akame said sadly as a spiral cone of water shot out of the hole in the ice and washed over the zombies. "But it's because I love her that I want to kill her so that I can end her suffering. If that was me up there though and Kurome was Luffy, and of course we didn't have the divide we have now, then this would play out the same."

Akame paused to gather her thoughts and as she did she and Tatsumi noted that black things shot out of the zombies mouths as the water finished washing over them and they collapsed. Neither particularly cared to ask what happened there and just presumed it was the whole Devil Fruits weak to water thing in effect and so after a few seconds Akame continued glad that Tatsumi had given her a moment to collect things.

"If I was about to be executed and Kurome was cutting a path towards me to save me then I'd want her to run, to get away and leave me to die." Akame said her voice deep with emotions over her complicated relationship with her younger sister. "I'd want her save herself not die with me on this bloody battlefield. I'd say something like what Ace just did, though not exactly the same, and I know that Kurome would tell me to shut the fuck up and that she was going to save her big sis. If I had to guess, Ace has always been the one saving Luffy what with being the older sibling so Luffy feels like it's his duty to save Ace now."

"That was what it was like with you, right?" Tatsumi asked as Luffy seemed to get rid of the remaining marines that were attacking him. "You protected your younger sister."

"Kinda." Akame said noting that the water had to have come from Jimbei seeing as he'd now arrived to stand next to Luffy clearly intending to take over facing the zombies and Moria to ensure that Luffy could continue towards Ace. "We were separated for our training and split into two groups though I did protect her in our culling at first but she stepped up and helped me so we got out together. I wanted to be back with her for the longest time and eventually we managed that due to our losses but by then it was already too late and I didn't realize. That come when I defected and she didn't, she couldn't and even if she could she was too dependent on the drugs. Those two are different but I can certainly understand them."

"Alright, I'm not really an expert here as I didn't have siblings but I know that if you were ever up on that scaffold, nothing in the world would stop me from rescuing you and bringing you back alive." Tatsumi said causing Akame to go bright red and her heart pick up at the words but she forced herself back under control by focusing on the mission at hand and promising herself that she'd deal with her feelings once they were safely away from Marineford. "Though I've gotta admit, they don't look too similar. There are some similarities, true, but I wouldn't presume that they're brothers."

"Neither." Akame admitted as she finished calming herself down and refocused on the situation at hand. "With Kurome you can tell, you've met her once back when that bitch kidnapped you so you've seen how she's a lot like me, but those two, I don't see it either but that can happen."

"True, I once…" Tatsumi began.

"Marines! Gather your wits!" Sengoku's voice boomed out of the Marineford speaker system cutting Tatsumi off and getting their attention as they looked over to the scaffold to see the Fleet Admiral standing there with a transmission snail in his hand and in front of his mouth. "You're making a mockery of the entire Navy by letting this rookie take control of things and that's after you let a different rookie run rampant only a few moments ago!"

"Hey! I had my love contained and was about to capture him at last!" Esdeath shouted from the Admiral's chairs as a giant suddenly moved to face Luffy where he stood with Jimbei having not yet taken off thanks to Sengoku taking the snail causing him to pause. "You called me back!"

"Not now Shirokami!" Sengoku said, the order coming out over the speakers as he didn't move the snail. "Remain where you are!"

"Didn't you take out all the giants?" Akame asked doing her best to ignore the declaration even if she felt a pang of jealousy at it while Esdeath continued to protest from where she was and the giant challenged Luffy by claiming he'd crush him into paste and bringing his club down on where Luffy and Jimbei were forcing them to dodge the attack. "I didn't count but I didn't see any either after you finished with Rear Admiral Ryukyu."

"Yes and no." Tatsumi admitted as he recognized the giant in question. "One was beaten by Oars Jr., one by Whitebeard, and one left the battlefield uninjured because he was helping the one who's arm I cut off get immediate medical attention. The last one is the one that's come back."

"Ah that makes sense." Akame said as the giant twisted, dragging his club along the ground to try and hit Luffy as he engaged the rookie in combat clearly inspired by Sengoku's words. "Well than, let's see if he's as good as you in handling giants. Well, almost, you did take out several."

"Yeah but even one for a rookie is a lot and he doesn't have a Mythical Zoan like I do." Tatsumi pointed out. "So it will be…"

"Make no mistake." Sengoku said, his voice again ringing out and cutting Tatsumi off again all while the giant continued to engage Luffy. "Just like that monster earlier, Straw Hat Luffy is a true threat in the making that we must prevent today. His claim earlier was true, he was raised alongside Fire Fist Ace as his step brother."

"Ah ok that explains it." Tatsumi said and Akame nodded. "Step brothers then. Still can be close and clearly those two are."

"And if that's not bad enough." Sengoku continued as he prepared to drop the second biggest bombshell of the day and one none but Garp, the Admirals, and the escapees saw coming while Luffy leapt up and at the giant. "He's also the biological son of the Revolutionary Army commander, Dragon."

Ah a nice little cliffhanger to end the chapter on, I never can resist them after all. While I knew that the reveal of who Luffy's father was was coming in this chapter, I had debated if the reaction to that news would be here as well or if I would save that for the next chapter but in the end I felt that this chapter was long and exciting enough to just end it on the reveal and deal with everyone's reaction to it next chapter. Now the secret is out and it's time to get the Night Pirates and the new Warlords' reactions to this news, along with the canon ones of course, as everyone processes yet another world shaking revelation to come out of Marineford on the day of Ace's execution. That's all that I really have for this chapter as there's nothing else to address as it's pretty straightforward so I will leave this off here. If you liked this please favorite, follow, leave a review, or let me know in a PM (I will respond either via the website or app depending on where you PM me), and if there are any questions will posed in reviews and PMs I will try to answer them as best I can. Until next time.
