CHAPTER 15: Will you accompany me?
Several days had passed already since Ash, Iris and Cilan departed by cruise to Kanto, Ash's home region. They had visited several Decolore Islands and had lived incredible experiences. They were very close for the three trainers to arrive to Kanto, so that meant that Ash's adventure with his Unova Pokémon was finishing. They had to enjoy to the fullest the last that remained of the trip.
They arrived to a big island, at the other end of the island was another port where they could take another cruise with the same destination, so Ash and his friends went touring the island while they reached the other end. In a moment, after lunching, the three humans and their Pokémon, decided to take a nap to recover themselves and continue later with the trip. Everyone was resting. Snivy, as she tried to sleep, felt a strange noise near her, footsteps on the grass were heard that were vanishing quickly to some place. It seemed that one of her friends had woken up and started to run. The snake opened her eyes and saw at the distance a figure that was running fast to the forest. She wondered who of all of them was the one who went to the forest.
She got up to see her surroundings, everyone looked asleep, but she didn't see someone nearby, that someone was Oshawott. He was the only one that wasn't found near them, for some reason he went running to the forest. What happened to him to get up and run to the forest? She had to investigate what was wrong with him.
Snivy entered in the forest to try to find Oshawott. He hadn't probably gone far way, he had to be near in some place. After a couple minutes, the grass-type found her partner. When she saw him, noises that he made were heard, he was… crying? Why did he leave his partners and entered to the forest to cry? It seemed that something bad had happened to him. She had to talk with him to know what was wrong with him. Snivy came closer to him and asked:
"Oshawott?"
He got spooked by hearing that voice. It was Snivy that was looking for him. Oshawott tried to stop continuing crying as he asked to her:
"Snivy? Sniff… what are you… doing here?"
"I woke up when I felt a noise that went to the forest, I realized that was you because I didn't see you with the others."
"Sniff… I see…"
"Oshawott, why did you escape to the forest? And why are you crying? What happened to you?"
He didn't know how to answer as he sniffed. Snivy came closer to him and sat next to him to say in a soothing way:
"Oshawott, calm down now. You first have to stop crying and later you have to tell your problem. I'm your partner of trust and I'll try to see what to do to solve it. Okay? Stop crying now and tell me what happened to you."
The Sea Otter Pokémon listened his partner and he slowly stopped to cry until he finally calmed himself. Snivy noticed that and said:
"Very well, now you are calmed, now tell me what happened to you."
After giving a deep breathing, Oshawott started to tell what happened to him.
"Snivy… recently, when I was sleeping along with Ash and the rest. I… I had a dream."
"A dream?"
"Yeah, it was a long and very happy dream… one of the best dreams that I had in my life."
"And what was it about?"
"I was there, together with Pikachu, Axew and Pansage. We were playing in the forest while we had fun. Later, we came across a precious flowery meadow. There, a very pretty voice was heard, I thought that there was a female Pokémon near us. We looked for that Pokémon and we bumped into her… She… it was a very pretty Pokémon in my own words… she was very beautiful with an elegant style."
"How did that Pokémon look?"
"She was mostly white with pink part on her body, and had several ribbons. She was called Sylveon."
"Sylveon? Mmm… that Pokémon doesn't sound familiar for me with what you described. It seems that it was an imaginary Pokémon that you had in the dream."
"Probably. Anyway, after seeing her, I was madly in love of her. It was a very beautiful girl for me. Afterwards, Sylveon moved away and we followed her. She stopped for a moment and showed with her ribbons an immense tree, that it seemed to be her home along with others. She called her friends and one went down to say hello. It was an Eevee."
"An Eevee? Wasn't that Pokémon one that Ash, Iris and Cilan met previously?"
"In what moment?"
"When they met a person called Virgil, he had an Eevee and used it to make rescues."
"Hmm… I could be a different Pokémon, but of the same species. Like I was saying, Eevee went down the tree to say hello to us. When I wanted to introduce myself. A Jolteon hugged me and electrocuted me completely."
"A Jolteon hugged you and electrocuted you?"
"Yeah, that hug damaged me. It seemed that Pokémon showed its affection in that way. Later, Jolteon left together with Eevee and Axew, while I was recovering and wanted to give that Jolteon a beating for having me electrocuted. We went to every part of the tree and were knowing several rooms, where different Pokémon friends of Sylveon, Eevee and Jolteon were found."
"Who were they?"
"All that lived there were Sylveon, Eevee, Jolteon, Glaceon, Leafeon, Umbreon, Flareon, Espeon and Vaporeon."
"Really? This is very strange."
"Why do you say so?"
"Virgil, who had an Eevee, also had a Jolteon, Vaporeon, Flareon, Umbreon, Espeon, Leafeon and Glaceon. With all of those Pokémon they made rescues and worked as a team. All those Pokémon appeared in your dream, with exception of Sylveon."
"Now that you say it, yeah, that's very strange, I don't know how those Pokémon were in my dream, it must be a strange coincidence."
"What happened else in your dream?"
"We were having fun with some of them, until I was told that they would make a party and a sleepover, and Sylveon brought us to her home for us to enjoy with them."
"Hmm… interesting."
"For some reason that I don't know yet. Team Rocket's Meowth was there as well."
"What was Team Rocket's Meowth doing in your dream?"
"I have no idea, but he didn't behave in an evil way, but he looked friendly with the others, as if he was an ordinary friend."
"How odd…"
"Yeah, but the strangest thing was he had a Pokémon that I don't know accompanying him. He was like… I don't know how to describe him well… he was tall, with round head, his body was light blue and blob-like looking and had four tentacles as feet."
"Hmm… That Pokémon doesn't sound familiar to me either. What was his name?"
"He was called Wobbuffet. He and Meowth were arriving the house with food for dinner for that night."
"What happened later?"
"Meowth and Wobbuffet were making dinner in the kitchen. Later, the night fell and everyone ate what they made. The food was very delicious, almost real for being a dream and I enjoyed a lot eating. The night didn't end there. They did some presentation as if it was a show. Several participated, including me, I showed my good control with Water Gun. Everyone enjoyed that moment a lot."
"What else?"
"The strange thing was that Umbreon wasn't present in the party, but it appeared and took watermelons, wanting us to follow it to some place in specific. Everyone followed it and went to a cliff. In front of us there were some unusual Pokémon for us. There was a Gothitelle, Gothorita, Gothita, Weavile and Gible.
"Hmm… I can recognize some of them, like Gothitelle, Gothorita and Gothita, but I don't know Weavile and Gible at all."
"I didn't know who they were either, they had a little bit shady look for us. In that moment, Meowth thought that they were gonna attack us, and went to attack them, but Sylveon stopped him before someone got hurt. What I didn't know of those Pokémon that they were there to make a show in the sky."
"A show in the sky?"
"Yeah, I even got surprised for that. Gothitelle, with her powers, showed the outer space, it looked very beautiful, I got very impressed. Later, Umbreon raised the watermelons that it carried and Weavile cut them with its claws, they were to share between us. Afterwards, Sylveon created a misty field in our feet to give a mystic touch to the ambient. Gothita and Gothorita used Hidden Power and Psybeam respectively and they combined them, making appear big crystal fragments around us. Next, Umbreon used Shadow Ball and Weavile used Hidden Power to combine them and make that the background dyed in pink colors. Vaporeon and Glaceon used Bubble Beam and Ice Beam respectively to create giant bubbles that floated in the air. Sylveon jumped from bubble to bubble doing beautiful and elegant moves. I was delighted for seeing her doing that. To finish, Gible used Draco Meteor and popped the bubbles out, and the background made us to seem that we were traveling at the speed of light, seeing the planets, the nebulas, the stars, the black holes, until we finally returned seeing the starry night."
"Wow…"
"Yeah, I was very impressed by the show that they made. It was like traveling through the space and through dimensions without having to go out of the world. It was very incredible for us and for me. After that awesome show, we came back to the tree and Meowth made food for the one that made the show in the sky, as a way to apologize for mistaking them with Pokémon that wanted to attack us. In the end, we slept in a big bed made of leaves, waiting a new day to continue enjoying together."
"What happened next?"
"It seemed that showed everyone doing several activities, in style as if was a montage. We cleaned ourselves in the lake of Espeon's room, we enjoyed of the water slide, we walked through a forest, Vaporeon and Glaceon made snow for us to have fun, we were supporting a Heracross and a Pinsir in a friendly battle, we explored a cave, we made a big campfire at night, and we also watched a firework show. Everything was spectacular for us. In that moment, I wanted that Sylveon were my girlfriend, but I would declare her later on. What I saw there was one of the best moments that I'd lived, I'd found happiness. But… It was there when I woke up, and realized that all what I'd lived what just a simple dream, a mere fantasy that my mind made… only so that life laughed at me once again…"
Oshawott got sad again. After he told what he lived in that dream and returned to feel depressed. Snivy felt pity for her partner.
"Maybe do I have… to be left alone completely in my life, me wanting to look for a girlfriend to love me and accompany me for the rest of my life? I've done everything possible to get a girl, but all was useless for me. I'm a tremendous failure…"
"Oshawott, don't say that."
"But it is true, I looked desperately for a girlfriend all this time and all of them either went away or rejected me, while I got with my heart broken and my self-esteem on the ground. Why do I have to fail on everything what I do, just to make others who see us laugh? I don't wanna be alone and without anyone when we end this journey, that is about to end for Ash's Pokémon that he caught in Unova. I don't wanna accept that I'll have to live alone from that moment on, I've been looking for a mate all this time for me to accept it. I wouldn't make sense to do so. What can I do now?"
Snivy felt more pity by Oshawott's saying, he was wanting to get a girl for her to love him forever, he had put effort with all what he had to reach that goal, and was that how life awards him? Multiple love failures that left him with his heart completely destroyed? Oshawott didn't deserve that, he deserved to find a mate to live happy for all his life, one that loved him and took care of him and that she did the same with him. What could they do in that pitiful situation that her partner was living?
Suddenly, Oshawott said to Snivy:
"Snivy."
"Yes, Oshawott?"
"Our journey will end soon, no? At this point there aren't many possibilities for me to find a girlfriend very soon, but… I wanna remain as optimist as possible, so that I'm not alone in my life. Therefore, I ask you a big favor that I hope you to accept it for the rest of the journey."
"What kind of favor?"
"Is it possible that you can be by my side from this moment on, while I continue looking for a girlfriend definitively for me? Is it possible that you do that for me, so you can accompany me while I look for my perfect girl?"
Snivy didn't know to say regarding to that. Oshawott wanted her to be accompanying him while he looked for a girlfriend. After thinking it, the snake answered:
"Of course, Oshawott. I will accompany you for the rest of your days, if it's necessary, so you continue looking for a perfect girlfriend for you."
"But, there's also something that I wanna confirm."
"What is it?"
"If for some reason, I never get a girlfriend that loves me, you… you…"
"Don't worry, Oshawott, even if you don't have success to find a girlfriend, I will always accompany so you aren't alone in your life."
"Thank you so much, Snivy, you're my best partner and friend that I've had in my life."
"You're welcome. You know? I was told that near where Ash have lived, there is a ranch with different Pokémon that he had caught in his previous adventures. Maybe you'll find a cute girl for her to be your girlfriend, what do you think of that?"
"It'll be the last chance of getting a girlfriend for me, so I'll have hope on getting one when we reach there. I hope to find an appropriate one for me. If it's not the case, I'll at least have you to accompany me for the rest of my life. Sounds fair?"
"Of course, Oshawott."
"Thank you, Snivy."
"It's moment to return, let's make the last effort for the rest of the trip before reaching Kanto."
"I'll do my best to end my journey in a good way. Let's come back."
Snivy and Oshawott came back to where the others were, to continue with the rest of the trip towards the Kanto region.
