*Kyoka POV*

Kyoka had known about them pretty quickly.

Between hearing them play more than a few times and seeing them walk through the halls with an assortment of instruments, she would have had to been actively trying to ignore them to not at least get an idea about the group. She had recognized the trio as hero students from 1-B but what had really got Kyoka paying attention to them was a conversation she heard the three having in passing.

"You know you can always keep going with us, Mimi," the boy of the small group shot over to the tallest student. "Yeah we'll all be heroes but K.K and I are going into music regardless," he stated but the greenette snorted and rolled her eyes.

"I'll help out but come on, that's too much for me," the girl, Mimi, groaned since she obviously wasn't keen on the idea. "One or the other please," she yawned but the boy laughed at her words.

"Yeah right, you just don't like working," he called out, receiving a shrug in response. "I refuse to give up either music or heroics," he then proclaimed proudly which made Kyoka's ears twitch. "If I love both then I'll do both," he readily grinned and the short brunette flashed her own smile before shooting a teasing smirk over at the taller girl.

"You've got enough ambition to make up for Mimi lacking it I guess," she giggled.

"At the very least he'll have tried it," the tall greenette grunted but she also held an amused expression.

The trio slowly got farther away from her but she now had her own thoughts to mull over.

-break-

That one had stuck with Kyoka.

She had made the choice of heroics, a choice that had taken a lot of courage for her to make and say to her parents, but at the same time she sometimes felt as if she had settled. So she didn't know what to think of 1-B's music club sometimes, particularly about Tsuburaba who had said those words, despite now having gotten to be acquainted with the three of them.

Komori seemed more set on being an idol that had a hero status, Midoriya apparently only found her music to be a hobby, but Tsuburaba was adamant about having a serious career in both. Kyoka hadn't thought of that as an option, she had the idea that she needed to pick one or the other, but truthfully was there any actual harm in at least trying to make both work? She still needed to sort her thoughts on that but those were interrupted when the door to the music room opened loudly. The 1-A student was currently with two members of 1-B's Music Club, Komori and Tsuburaba, while the final one shuffled her way in.

"Made it," Midoriya grumbled, looking a little less pleased than usual, and the lone boy of the group hopped from his seat as Kyoka continued prepping the instruments alongside Komori.

"Yo, what kept you?" Tsuburaba wondered, finding a water bottle and tossing it to the new arrival.

"Neck pain," the greenette huffed after taking a drink while Komori snickered from beside Kyoka.

"Kendo must have gotten on your case again," the brunette teased, making a frown cross Midoriya's face, and Tsuburaba sighed.

"What'd you do this time?" he posed over to the taller girl whose frown deepened even more.

"Do I have to do something for Kendo to bust my ass these days?" she groaned and Kyoka was about to worry but the other two students laughed.

"Well last time it was because you switched the water mixer in one of the showers," Tsuburaba chuckled, seemingly recalling the event, while the greenette folded her arms.

"She was just mad because she got it," Midoriya stated coolly while finding a seat to drop into. "She needs a hobby that isn't hanging a knife over my head," the fox girl mumbled and for some reason Kyoka couldn't help but loose a quiet laugh herself.

"You guys' dorm sounds pretty close," the sole 1-A student noted earning her a grunt from Midoriya.

"Yeah, that's us," she said, leaning back into her seat but not sounding offended. "One big collection of weirdos who swear they don't have screws loose," she added on, again to her classmates amusement. "Mind if I take first?" the tall girl asked while the three of them nodded to her.

"Go for it," Komori affirmed before turning to Kyoka instead. "You haven't heard Mimi sing yet right Jirou?" the browned haired girl noted.

"Ah, guess not," she hummed, realizing it was true, and Komori turned back to Midoriya.

"Mimi, sing something in English," the shorter girl requested but the fox girl shot a questioning look over to her.

"What for? None of us can understand it," she replied but Komori shook her head while Kyoka listened along in interest.

"We should do all kinds of music," the brunette student proclaimed boldly, "and you have the best pronunciation."

"Well, fine I guess," Midoriya agreed with a shrug and with that Kyoka turned as she felt a tap on her shoulder from Tsuburaba while the other two girls continued chatting.

"She does almost all the songs that are sung in a different language," he informed quietly and Kyoka found his barely hidden excitement kinda cute of him. "They're mostly in English though," he tacked on and the 1-A student nodded.

"It's pretty cool that you guys can do so much," Kyoka replied somewhat softly, thinking about how readily they jumped into their passions. "Do you do any of the other songs?" she wondered over to Tsuburaba who managed an energetic smile through the bare hints of nervousness still left on his face.

"Yup," he grinned infectiously. "Oh, if you have songs you wanna do then we can play those too or you can take a turn singing if you'd like," he offered but Kyoka wasn't quite ready for all that yet.

"I'll think on it if that's cool," she answered back and Tsuburaba only seemed more excited but their attention was pulled back to the other two.

"I wish you'd shapeshift more to sing too," Komori aimed at the taller girl who shrugged but it was Tsuburaba who interjected.

"Come on, K.K. You know she hates that," he appealed but the brunette didn't appear convinced.

"She said she was cool with it," she argued back but the boy shook his head as he shuffled over.

"Cause she spoils you," he teased which earned him a half glare.

"Now they're getting into it," Midoriya half chuckled and half sighed before drawing her gaze over to her with an apologetic smirk. "Sorry 'bout that, Jirou," she grinned sheepishly but the 1-A girl shook her head.

"No, it's cool," she assured as she glanced over the two who were bickering. "It...kinda turns awkward when my classmates disagree but with you guys it's like..." she tried, wondering how to word it, "like I know you're all close and it's fine at the end of the day."

Midoriya didn't reply right away, her gaze followed Kyoka's, but a fond smile touched her lips.

"Pop by more," the greenette suddenly said. "If you feel like it," she added on and the 1-A girl smiled a little too.

"Thanks," she remarked simply and Midoriya clapped her hands which caught the attention of Tsuburaba and Komori.

"Alright, you two good?" she wondered and the pair shot some thumbs up in their direction.

Kyoka couldn't help but grin a little as they all set up cause it felt like she had a place here too.
