Naruto walked through the dimly lit corridors of the underground base, his footsteps echoing off the stone walls as Raiden rambled on beside him about various topics, mostly trivial details of his training regimen and speculation on who the next target might be. Naruto half-listened, his mind on other things, when he suddenly paused, his keen ears picking up a familiar voice echoing from one of the adjacent chambers.

"Orochimaru…" Naruto murmured, catching the tone of a low conversation. Beside him, Raiden stopped talking, sensing Naruto's change in demeanor.

Through the crack of a slightly open door, Naruto heard Kabuto's voice. "Lord Orochimaru, your progress with Sasuke is nearly complete, is it not? With the chakra reserves and potential his body offers, it seems like the perfect time to begin the ritual. His resistance has diminished, and his control over the Sharingan is growing. Surely, now would be the most advantageous moment."

Orochimaru's voice slithered through the air, silky and calculating. "Yes… Sasuke's body will make an ideal vessel. But timing is everything, Kabuto. We must wait until he's at his peak to maximize what I can gain from his power."

Naruto leaned in, his interest piqued. Sasuke's body? He couldn't help the dark smirk that spread across his face as an idea formed in his mind. If Orochimaru was so set on acquiring a new vessel, perhaps Naruto could offer an alternative that would allow Sasuke to remain a useful ally.

With a slight push, Naruto opened the door wider and stepped in, cutting off Raiden's whispered inquiries. Orochimaru and Kabuto turned, mildly surprised but guarded as Naruto entered the room.

"Orochimaru, I couldn't help overhearing your… plans for Sasuke," Naruto said, his eyes gleaming with a dark curiosity. "Interesting choice, but… isn't it a bit short-sighted?"

Orochimaru's gaze sharpened, an amused smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Oh? And what would you suggest, Naruto-kun?"

Naruto folded his arms, leaning against the wall casually. "You're targeting Sasuke for his power, but he's one of the most skilled shinobi we have. Why waste that potential? If you're looking for a resilient, near-immortal body, you already have one right here."

Kabuto raised an eyebrow, and Orochimaru's eyes glinted with interest as Naruto continued.

"Hidan," Naruto said, his voice low and persuasive. "He's practically indestructible, loyal only to his twisted beliefs, and with a body that could regenerate after almost any injury. Why not take his instead?"

Kabuto looked intrigued, processing the idea, while Orochimaru's expression turned thoughtful. "Hidan…" he repeated, as if tasting the possibilities. "A fascinating suggestion, Naruto-kun. His immortality would indeed provide… unique advantages."

Naruto pushed off the wall and stepped closer, his expression shifting to one of veiled calculation. "Exactly. Plus, with Sasuke, we have an ally strong enough to take on the Leaf's most powerful shinobi. You'd be sacrificing a valuable asset for a temporary gain. But Hidan? With his regenerative abilities, you could push him to his limits over and over."

Orochimaru's smile widened, snake-like and approving. "You always surprise me, Naruto. An excellent idea, indeed. I'll consider it… thoroughly."

With a slight nod, Naruto turned to leave, but not before casting Kabuto a challenging glare, daring him to object. Kabuto, ever the obedient assistant, said nothing, merely watching with a faint, unreadable smile.

As Naruto walked back down the corridor, Raiden's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Wow, you just made a huge move there, huh?" he whispered with a grin.

Naruto didn't respond, his gaze focused ahead, already planning his next steps. Let Orochimaru think he had gained a valuable suggestion; it would only serve Naruto's interests in the end.

Kabuto watched Naruto's figure vanish into the dim corridors of the base, a cold glint in his eye. Once Naruto was out of sight, he turned back to Orochimaru, his expression unreadable as he observed his master's contemplative face.

"Lord Orochimaru," Kabuto began, his voice low, "Naruto is growing increasingly… assertive. His power, his cunning—they're advancing rapidly, perhaps more rapidly than anyone anticipated. He's already managed to amass loyalty among those who would otherwise have no leader." Kabuto's gaze was sharp, his words careful. "Naruto could very well become more than just a useful pawn. In fact, he might end up standing between you and your ambitions, including Sasuke."

Orochimaru listened, a slithering smirk stretching across his lips. He steepled his fingers, his golden eyes gleaming with a dark amusement. "Yes, Kabuto, I'm well aware of Naruto's… evolution. It's fascinating, really. He's exceeded even my expectations, particularly in his ruthlessness."

Kabuto continued, his voice betraying a hint of caution. "It may not be long before he realizes he can command more than mere prisoners and outcasts. With Kurama's influence, his chakra reserves have become monstrous. And with the forbidden jutsu he's developing… well, he could become quite difficult to control."

Orochimaru's grin widened, an expression both intrigued and sinister. "Dangerous, yes," he admitted. "But that's what makes him so interesting. Naruto is a storm that could reshape the shinobi world… or be snuffed out before he even realizes his true potential." His voice dropped to a murmur, as if savoring the prospect of this inevitable clash. "But he will learn that I'm the only one capable of harnessing that storm."

Kabuto nodded, but there was a wary gleam in his eye. "If that's your intention, then we need to act swiftly. The loyalty Naruto commands, particularly from Sasuke, could complicate matters. He might resist any attempts to remove Naruto if it came down to it."

Orochimaru's gaze flickered with interest. "Sasuke's loyalty to Naruto is nothing more than an illusion," he said coolly. "He's driven by vengeance, by his hatred for Itachi. Naruto is but a stepping stone. When the time comes, Sasuke will abandon anyone who stands between him and his goals."

Kabuto watched Orochimaru closely, weighing his response. "Even so, it might be wise to consider a contingency plan," he suggested. "If Naruto's power and following continue to grow, he may challenge you sooner than expected."

Orochimaru's smirk widened as he considered Kabuto's words. "Yes, a contingency…" he mused, his voice trailing off as his mind raced with possibilities. "But for now, let him build his power. Let him develop his forbidden techniques and gather his followers. He'll make a valuable tool… right up until he becomes expendable."

Kabuto inclined his head, satisfied that his warning had been heeded, though the glimmer of worry never fully left his eyes. Orochimaru's curiosity and tolerance for danger had always bordered on reckless, and Naruto was no ordinary threat. But Kabuto would remain vigilant—prepared for the day when Naruto's loyalty, already wavering, would inevitably shatter.

Orochimaru returned his gaze to the flickering torches along the stone walls, his grin as cold and merciless as ever. "Let him build his storm, Kabuto. And when he's served his purpose, I will show him what true power looks like."
