Naruto stood at the center of his throne-room, a dim, cavernous space carved from the very stone of the mountain. Torches flickered along the walls, casting long shadows over the grim assembly before him. His top lieutenants—the Freemen's elite—stood in a semi-circle around him, each figure distinct, fierce, and unwaveringly loyal.
Closest on his left was Uzanbruk, a towering man of immense strength, his presence radiating raw power. His giant weapon, nearly as wide as his shoulders, rested on his back, its edges chipped from countless battles.
Next was Lenaro, a sharp-eyed woman whose gaze seemed to pierce through any scheme. Hailing from a clan famed for their tactical genius, she wore a knowing smirk, confident in her strategic mastery.
Beside her, Oberyu stood silently, his eyes half-lidded, as though ready to vanish into the shadows at any moment. A master of stealth and assassination, he was Naruto's blade in the dark.
And finally, Raiden, ever chatty, leaned on the hilt of his sword, watching Naruto with his usual enthusiastic grin.
Naruto's voice broke the silence, low and commanding. "Orochimaru has plans beyond what he's told us. He sees us as pawns, tools to be discarded." His gaze hardened as he looked at each of his Freemen. "This includes Sasuke."
A murmur rippled through the group as Sasuke entered the room with another of the Freemen, Iluka, a slender kunoichi with an air of quiet confidence. She was a master of transformation and reconnaissance, her skills invaluable in gathering information from deep behind enemy lines.
Sasuke approached the group, his eyes narrowing as he sensed the intensity of the conversation. Naruto met his gaze, his voice taking on a sharper edge. "Sasuke, I think it's time you know the truth. Orochimaru has no intention of letting you leave this alliance intact."
Naruto's words hit Sasuke like a blow. His expression darkened, the gears turning in his mind as he processed the betrayal. "He's planning to use me," Sasuke murmured, his voice cold with realization.
Naruto nodded. "You're just another body to him, another stepping stone for his twisted ambitions. I won't let that happen." He shifted his gaze to the Freemen around him. "I need each of you to keep close watch on Orochimaru. If he moves, I want to know. If he schemes, I want it shut down. He has to realize that we are not his pawns."
The Freemen nodded, their expressions serious. Uzanbruk cracked his knuckles, Lenaro smirked with quiet satisfaction, Oberyu gave a slight nod, and Raiden grinned with barely-contained excitement.
Naruto turned back to Sasuke, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We fight together," he said, his voice steady. "You're not alone in this. If Orochimaru tries anything, he'll face all of us."
Sasuke's tense stance relaxed, and he met Naruto's gaze with a rare look of gratitude. This alliance was no longer a mere necessity. Naruto and Sasuke were becoming true partners, bound by a shared mistrust of Orochimaru and a determination to carve their own paths—free from the manipulations of others.
