Izuku woke up with a groan. He was still really tired, and as the events of last night came back to him, he could feel the soreness coming back and he was completely out of energy. He didn't really feel any pain from his wounds, but when he rolled over it aggravated his shoulder.

As a result, he shot up, and properly looked around the room. It was barely light out and he was the first awake. In the room with him, there was Todoroki and Iida, both still sleeping and each hooked up to heartrate monitors, much like himself.

To his side there was a bedside table, on which there was a small backpack. On it there was a note directed to him, from Hawks. 'Hey kid, hope you're feeling alright, here's some of your stuff so you aren't completely bored out of your mind, being stuck in recovery is the most boring part of being a hero, I'll probably talk to you sometime today about your actions, when the police talk to you as well. But I'm proud of you kid, you did well.'

Izuku started tearing up as he opened the bag, within had several notebooks and a couple pens. He smiled, just what he needed to kill time. Opening up one of the notebooks, (incidentally, it was battle and combat strategy book #7) he began noting down the encounter with Stain, and started writing about the various techniques displayed by both himself and his opponent. After a few hours, Todoroki and Iida had both woken up, and the three students engaged in light conversation, despite the tense atmosphere they were in as they waited for word from the chief of police.

Taking advantage of a break in conversation, Izuku began looking through the rest of the contents of the bag and he saw a decent looking phone, with another note from Hawks. 'So, uhh, your phone was kinda completely smashed up so I got you a replacement, you might wanna contact your friends before they have a panic attack.' Izuku chuckled slightly, loading up the phone to find all the data was thankfully backed up somewhere, and he sent out a few messages, promising to call some people later on, and turning off the new phone just before Manual, Hawks and someone who had a dog mutation quirk walked in.

Izuku smiled nervously as he waved to Hawks, who walked up to his intern and pat his head. "You did good kid, and you stayed within my rules, chill a little bit." Hawks told him, and Izuku's smile became more sincere.

On the other hand, Manual walked over to Iida and wacked the student on the head. "What the hell were you thinking?! Going out and hunting the Hero Killer on your own, whilst there was a crisis happening in the city no less!" Manual scolded, resulting in Iida bowing deeply. He was about to start talking, when the other person introduced themselves.

"Now that is out of the way, I am here to speak to you about your actions that night, woof." The person said, "I am the Hosu chief of police, and as you know, using quirks without explicit permission to result in grievous bodily harm is illegal, woof. The Hero Killer was found with severe burns, nerve damage, and several broken ribs amongst other things, woof. As such-"
"Hold on there!" Todoroki cut the chief off, anger glistening in his eyes, "Are you saying we should have done nothing? If Izuku hadn't shown up, then Iida and Native would be dead, and if I didn't come they would all be gravely wounded!"
"What are they teaching you at that school of yours... woof." The chief said, shaking his head, "Of course, that is the official opinion of the police. This is more than a little underhanded, but because there was only one other person at the incident at the time, and the pros you approached afterwards can be trusted to keep their mouth shut, we can simply not release full details to the public. We will tell them that some U.A interns and Endeavour came across and defeated the Hero Killer, as such not specifically revealing you. Whilst you would not receive direct merit, you would not be punished for your actions. On the other hand, we can release full details and as such would be required to prosecute you for your actions, however we do not want to hinder such young and promising heroes as yourself."

The trio of students nodded, with Todoroki giving an annoyed grunt, before Hawks spoke up, "Hold on there pal! I had given explicit instructions for my intern to use his quirk, as such he should at the very least be credited for his role in the capture directly." Hawks said, a fierce spark in his eyes. Izuku was slightly dumfounded and became a blushing mess, wanting to speak up but the chief beat him to it. "Very well, considering the circumstances we can say that Midori Raiko, one of your interns, played a major role in taking down Stain whilst not being specific."

Hawks nodded happily whilst Izuku was in a bit of shock. Despite this he thanked both of them profusely. "Due to the incident that occurred, chances are none of you will be able to return to your internships, however I believe you all have gathered more than enough experience from this one scenario." The chief said, a glimmer of amusement in his eyes, "and from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of both the Hosu police force and citizens, I thank you for your actions that resulted in a vicious tyrant being taken off the streets, saving many in the future. So thank you heroes." He finished, bowing deeply.

Todoroki grunted in response, Iida thanked him for their forgiveness and Izuku smiled nervously. Hawks was looking on proudly as he waved goodbye, off to check on Tokoyami's continued training. Luckily for him, due to his treatment of the situation, he would not be punished or have his ability take on interns revoked.

This was not the same for Manual, who had Iida run off whilst he was meant to be under his care. Iida apologized profusely and bowed a perfect ninety degrees (which was incredibly impressive all things considered), and Endeavour (who was noticeably not present) was let off because it's Endeavour, much to Todoroki's dismay. Regardless, the adults left the students be as each of them continued with activities. Iida was talking to family over the phone and Todoroki was doing some study, of what appeared to be the chemical structure of water and ice, presumably to try and develop his quirk.

'Wait, if Todoroki produces ice and fire, could he theoretically then combine them and produce steam? What would his temperature ranges be? Probably at the absolute lowest it would be 0 Kelvin (-273.15 C or -459.67 F), and considering Endeavour can comfortably melt cement, it would probably be something above 1550 C (2822 F), but could he make his fire cold and ice hot?' Izuku muttered, writing frantically in a page for Todoroki.

The boy with bi-coloured hair blinked, and wrote a couple sticky notes of that information before chuckling lightly to himself. 'Never change Izuku, never change'

After a while, Izuku finished his spiel about Todoroki's quirk in a page of the book, before quietly excusing himself to talk to his friends and family on the new phone. Stepping into a designated room, he found it empty and started by dialing Bakugo. It rang once, twice, thrice before an exhausted voice picked up. "'Zuku?" Bakugo questioned. Izuku smiled, before answering,
"Yeah Kacchan, sorry I couldn't respond earlier, we, uhh, were being scolded..."
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT! ARE YOU OKAY YOU DAMN NERD?" Bakugo responded, his previous tiredness gone.
"Yeah, I'm fine, guy could barely land a hit on me." Izuku chuckled, as he heard some yelling in the background.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?! ... YOU'RE JUST A SHITTY EXTRA, YOU DON'T GET TO TELL ME SHIT! YEAH YEAH TELL HIM I'LL BE OUT IN A FEW MINUTES FOR FUCKS' SAKE! Sorry Zuku, I gotta go to do some dumb shit, I expect a full story and every detail once we get back home, got it?"
"Alright Kacchan, talk to you then." Izuku responded, before hanging up (but not before hearing more indiscriminate screaming and more than a few choice words from Bakugo).

Next on his list to call was his adoptive parents, who were both understandably worried but indescribably proud of their adoptive son for playing a crucial role in the capturing of such a vicious murderer and the person to end dozens of pro's lives and careers. After bidding them farewell, he checked the next on his list.

Members of the Big Three, who had all eventually become good friends with him (even the ever-shy Tamaki had started to open up a little). First up Tamaki, mostly because the boy's anxieties were probably not helped by the news that several U.A student interns, one of whom confirmed to be Izuku, had taken down the one and only Hero Killer: Stain. The phone rung five times before a shaky voice picked up. "I-I-Izuku?"
"Yo Tamaki, just calling to let you know I'm okay." Izuku replied, smiling.
"Oh thank goodness you're okay. Are you injured?" Tamaki replied mildly confidently, at least relatively (like, he was still whispering but there was noticeably less stuttering).
"Not badly, just a couple scratches here and there but overall I'll be okay." Izuku responded.
"Well, try to keep out of trouble, I look forward to hearing about it once this is all over. T-t-talk to you l-l-later Izuku, Fatgum is calling me for lunch." Tamaki replied, before hanging up.

The next person to call was Mirio, who picked up after two rings. "Yo! Izuku! Good to hear from ya! How're you doing?"
"I'm doing fairly well all things considered, yourself?"
"Eh not bad, just doing the internships like you. Except getting into notably less trouble. Doing it with Night-"
"NIGHTEYE! AS IN ALL MIGHT'S ONLY SIDEKICK, or at least briefly, until they had a falling out. It'-"
"Yes, that Nighteye." Mirio responded, mildly amused, "Wha? Yes Sir! Sorry Izuku, I gotta go back to training, talk to ya later kiddo!" The phone hung up shortly after.

"Who was that Mirio?" Nighteye asked, curious as to who Mirio's few friends were. It was lonely at the top afterall.
"Izuku, hero name: Midori Raiko. He's a good friend!" Mirio responded enthusiastically.
"One of the interns who was part of the defeat of the Hero Killer?"
"Indeed Sir! I believe you'd like him! He has a decent attitude but a great mind!" Mirio told him. Nighteye just nodded slowly in response, 'Perhaps. Perhaps.'

Izuku gulped loudly. Of all the people he needed to call, he was most nervous to call Nejire, for a number of reasons. Regardless, he pressed the contact and put the phone to his ear. Not even half a ring later, an excited yell came through. "Izuku?! Oh my gosh oh my gosh are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you resting? Are y-"
"Y-y-yes it's me, I-I-Izuku. I-I-I'm okay now, I-I've only got a few cuts but no permanent damage. J-j-just a-a-a few scars, but nothing bad. And yes I'm r-resting." Izuku replied.
"SCARS? Ooo that's neat, where? Oh does it still hurt? Hey what was Stain's quirk? NO I'M NOT BOTHERING ANYONE RYUKO! Sorry, Ryuko doesn't like it when I question people a bunch. Anyway, spill all the deets!" Nejire replied.
"Uhh... j-j-just a scar on my cheek a-and a scar o-on my arm. I-it doesn't h-hurt anymore, Stain's quirk was paralyzation via blood ingestion. It's why he fought with so many blades. It was really fascinating actually, he fought focused almost entirely on speed, and-" Izuku was cut off from his muttering when there was a yell heard from the other end.
"Are you talking to ... boyfriend Nejire? W-W-WHAT?! N-n-no i-i-it's n-n-not l-l-like that! Sure sure." Ryuko (presumably) and Nejire bickered. Izuku was a shade of deep, deep red. Despite that, he had to admit it was funny to hear Nejire stammer for once.
"I-I-I'll tell you o-o-once we g-g-get back to s-s-school, e-e-everyone else wants t-t-to know a-anyway. T-t-talk to you later Nejire."
"R-r-right. Talk to you later Izuku."

Just before the two hung up, Izuku could hear Ryuko teasing Nejire about being on first name basis, and he felt his blush go deeper somehow. Yeah he'd tell them about the fight against Stain. If he could survive the attention until then.
