Emperor's Rule Part 1
After staying in the Imperial Capital the next day, Leo, Panther, Azel, Risa, Jie, Blake, Kuo and Kiba witnessed Lu Kang becoming the Emperor of China. It was also the first time to have humans to witness a private ceremony. Panther knew Leo wouldn't want to stay at the Imperial Palace because he hates politicians, but she wasn't surprised that Leo stayed for this occasion. Once the ceremony was over, Blake decided to stay with Panther at Gongmen City until he's ready to head back to the human world.
Leo agreed with his idea. Azel and Risa will tell the others what happened when they get back. Everyone said goodbye and went their own separate ways. Leo took the original route that took him two days to get back to the Valley Of Peace. But it took him three days to get back. Leo had discovered Saber's tracks along the way, but the clone was long gone. The young man had made it back to the Valley Of Peace. He was greeted by several villagers.
"Hi Leo."
"Good to see you."
Leo returned their greetings by bowing his head or giving them a simple nod. He arrives at the staircase that led back to the Jade Palace. But he heard some voices, and he turns around to see Shifu and the others.
"Leo!" Viper exclaims happily.
"Hello everyone. Did anything happen when I was away?"
"Yes. We had to stop several thieves who was trying to steal priceless artifacts. We were handling the thieves fine until Po came-" Shifu was saying, but he was interrupted by the panda.
"And I stopped all those bandits!" Po smiled.
"Yes, but those artifacts were all destroyed in the process." Shifu looks at Po. "You need to think before you act! Think before you act!"
"Come on, I'm the acty guy, not the thinky guy." Po looks at Shifu.
"Emergency! Emergency!" Zeng flew down to the group.
"Zeng, what is it? Did something happen?" Shifu asks the goose.
"It's the Emperor! He's here!" Zeng exclaims.
"Unannounced?" Viper gasps in shock."
"This doesn't look good." Monkey tells the avian.
"Maybe he's here to say howdy." Po said, trying to calm them.
"The last time an emperor visited the valley was hundreds of years ago and he "howdied" seven people heads off." Shifu said to Po.
The Dragon Warrior swallowed nervously and look back up to the Jade Palace.
Master Shifu and his students anxiously approached to the Jade Palace. They see several rhino guards and ibex's surrounding a red box. Shifu and several of his students kneeled and bowed. Crane bowed and he noticed Leo gave a light bow.
"Am I-"
Leo cut him off by squeezing the panda firmly. Po looks behind his shoulder and tilt his head little confused. "Not. A. Word." Leo softly tells him in a stern voice as he squeezes the panda's shoulder much more firmly on those last three words he spoke.
The panda can feel a little pain and he quickly nodded. Leo releases his grip on Po.
"Tremble in fear before the Emperor of China!" An ibex announced as several of his company moved to make way.
Everyone didn't say a word. The door opens to revealed Lu Kang. "Hey there, party people!"
"Lu!" Everyone exclaims except for Leo and Shifu. The Grand Master smiled.
"Lu!" Po stands up and wanted to give the water buffalo a hug.
When the guards saw the panda was approaching their Emperor, Leo moves past Shifu and The Furious Five. He sweeps the Dragon Warrior off his feet and the panda fell forward on his stomach. Leo places his foot on the panda's back.
"What was that for, Leo?" Po looks over his shoulder.
"I didn't know you were going to be here today, Emperor Lu Kang." Leo stares at the Emperor.
"What?!" Po gasps in shock and turns his head to the water buffalo.
"It's true." Lu Kang smiled. "I'll explain everything inside."
Leo helps Po to get back on his feet and everyone followed the Emperor inside to the Hall Of Warriors.
"So when did you became emperor, Lu Kang? A few months ago?" Monkey guessed.
"It was three days ago." Lu Kang said. "We did a private ceremony, and everyone was there, including Leo and his human friends. So my grandfather stepped down and named me his successor. You're all looking at Emperor Lu of China!" His hoof got stuck between the ibex's horns.
"I see he's still a klutz." Monkey whispered to Mantis and Viper.
Po walks over and removed the ibex away from Lu Kang.
"So in a couple days, we're doing my imperial ascension ceremony during the eclipse. You can't do a ceremony without an eclipse." Lu Kang said.
"Ahem." A rooster clears his throat. He was wearing a red robe as an elderly cat with a stick stands next to him. She was wearing a brown robe that covers her white robe.
"Oh, Po, this my chief advisor, Zhihui." Lu Kang said.
Zhihui bows to the panda. "You are very... large."
"Thanks." Po smiled.
"And this is his assistant, Pang Bing."
"I'm in charge of slap buckets." Pang Bing smiled.
The rooster smacks behind the head. "Pang Bing, you are not allowed to speak during ceremonial greetings."
"And last, but not least, is my head of security. You!" Lu Kang smiled.
Everyone gasps in surprised except for Leo as his eyebrows were raised.
"Wait, what?"
"I know, right? Po, I'm appointing you to be my head of Imperial Security." Lu Kang announced.
Shifu frowned.
"Oh my gosh, Lu! This is great! But are you sure?" Po looks at him.
"Master Po, when I came here to learn kung fu, you were the only one to believe in me. And now I believe in you. And fairies." Lu Kang said.
"This is cool!" Po smiled. "And the others can help."
"No, Po." Lu Kang shakes his head. "I just want you. The Furious Five will remain here at the Jade Palace."
"You mean I have to leave my friends?" Po looks back at his friends.
"Your majesty." Shifu steps forward. "Might I suggest a member of the Furious Five to become your Head Of Security or Leo? Anyone but Po?"
"Huh?"
"Don't get me wrong." Shifu continued. "Po has many fine qualities such as those... "other qualities". But he's not really management material."
"Don't sugarcoat it, Shifu." Po folded his arms with a frown. "What do you really think?"
Shifu looks at him. "I'm sorry, Po. But being head of security is a critical position. The Emperor's life is in a constant state of peril."
"It is?" Lu Kang asked.
"Yes it is. This job requires analysis, preparation, thinking. Not just acting." Shifu answered.
"Hey, I can think when I act." Po said.
Shifu wasn't convinced. "Can you now? Then answer this riddle. What do you put in a barrel to make it lighter?"
"Oh. I uh..."
"Now attack me!"
Po started to attack while trying to figure out the riddle. His attacks missed as his master was dodging. The small red panda pushes the panda's arm and kicks him squarely in the chest. Shifu lands on top of the panda. "Is it a feather?" Po groans a little.
"I'm sorry, panda, but you're just not a thinker." Shifu apologizes and gets off the panda's chest.
Po gets up on his feet and looks at his friends. "I'm thinky enough to do this job, right guys?"
The Furious Five just stares at him with blank looks. "Thinky?" Crane asked.
Po looks at Leo. "What about you, Leo?"
Leo folded his arms. "We'll see how well you do."
"Fine." Po said and turns around to walk up to Lu Kang. "I accept your offer, Lu."
"Yay!" Lu Kang cheered and gave the panda a hug. "This'll be so much! It'll be like a very long sleepover!"
Shifu's ear lowered a bit with a frown on his face.
"Wait a minute." Po said as he was released from the hug. "What about Leo? Will he stay at the Jade Palace as well?"
All eyes were on Leo now.
"We have received this scroll two days ago right after he left." Zhihui said, taking out a scroll.
Leo walks up to the rooster and takes the scroll. He opens it and started reading it.
"What is it?" Tigress walks up to him.
"A message. Somone is planning to kill the Emperor. If I stop this person, they'll give me the location." Leo said as he kept looking at the scroll.
"A location to what?"
"A location to find my parents and my family." Leo closed the scroll. He looks at Lu Kang. "Looks like your being targeted, Lu Kang. It could be a trick, but we can't take any chances. I'll come along with you to escort you back to the Capital and find this person. I will leave now to find this person."
"Hang on, Leo." Tigress places a paw on his shoulder. "You should stay and rest for awhile."
"We'll be leaving in the late afternoon." Zhihui informs the human.
"Very well."
Leo was in his room alone. He doesn't fully believe whoever sent this message knows the location of his parents. But the threat could be real and Leo doesn't want to take any chances. He knew this couldn't be James and this was someone else entirely.
"Do you really believe whoever sent this message knows the location of your parents?" Kaira spoke in his mind.
"I don't believe it. It could be a rouse. A trick to get me thinking whoever sent this message knows the location of my parents." Leo replied. "But the threat to kill the emperor is real. I have to be careful."
"You mean we have to be careful. I'm still trapped inside you, human."
"I know. The library hasn't been very helpful these past few months. I've written down everything that happened since I found out about you."
"And I have no memory of how I ended up inside you."
"Do you think this threat could be a strong foe like Ke-Pa?"
"If it comes to that, we will do the same as always. But we'll wait and see what happens."
"I-" Leo was saying but he was cut off. He was starting to get dizzy. The young man shakes his head a little, but it got worse. His surroundings were starting to spin. Leo tried to hang on, but he passed out unconscious as his body fell on the floor and haven't moved.
Tigress was in her room meditating. She heard something fell inside Leo's room. Opening her amber eyes, the orange feline exits her room to check up on him. She stands outside his room. "Leo?" Tigress knocks on his door. There was no response. The orange feline slide his door open and sees Leo lying unconscious on the floor. "Leo!" She exclaims.
Tigress rushes and kneels to his side. "Leo. Leo, wake up." She shakes him and Leo didn't respond back. Tigress lifts him up she held Leo in her arms. "Leo."
"Mmm."
Tigress lets out a soft gasp.
Leo opens his eyes. He saw Tigress holding him in her strong arms. "Tigress?"
"Leo, are you okay?" She asked concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Leo said as Tigress releases him.
"What happened?"
"I remember I was thinking about the message till I started feeling dizzy. Then I passed out."
Tigress nodded her head.
"But I saw a couple of silhouettes. I think it was those two tigers I met that brought me to Fumi's cave."
"What do you think it means?"
"I'm not sure." Leo looks at her. "Whatever this vision means, I have to find the two tigers after I stop this person."
"I hope so." Tigress said. "You'll be leaving again, right? This afternoon?"
"Yes." Leo nodded.
"Do you know who sent this message? Someone you know?"
"I don't know who sent this message and I don't know this person."
"Be careful when you find this person." Tigress tells him.
"I will." Leo assures her. "Are you going back to your room to meditate?"
"Actually, I was hoping we can spend time with each other before you leave. We haven't spent a lot of time with each other." Tigress replied.
It was true. The two warriors haven't spent time with each other for a while now.
"Sure." Leo nodded his head.
Tigress smiled at his response. Leo leans in and kisses her on the lips. The orange feline started kissing her boyfriend back. She moves to sit on his lap as they kept kissing. They broke the kiss to get some air. Leo led her to his bed and the orange feline sat on his lap again.
In a surprising move, Tigress began to remove his shirt. Leo didn't object to her action, and he allowed her to remove his shirt to reveal his upper body. They wouldn't dare cross that line and they both haven't seen each other naked after the mirror incident. Viper was with them since she's a snake that didn't require to have clothes. With the shirt tossed to the side, Tigress wrap her arms Leo's neck and kisses him on the lips. Leo kisses her back and wraps his arms around her.
He could feel her paws exploring his exposed upper body. They broke the kiss to get some air. Both warriors lean on their foreheads on one another. Leo leans back to lay down and Tigress leans forward and began kissing him again.
Inside Leo's mind, the White-Tailed Beast was watching the whole thing. She was also wondering about that vision Leo told his girlfriend before they started making out. Kaira was still planning to get out and kill Leo. But Leo did perk her interest to protect his friends and putting his life on the line in tough situations while keeping secrets from them, especially Tigress. Enya and herself were those secrets. And Kaira knew the reason why Leo never celebrated his birthday every year.
She looked through his memories without him knowing. There were good times and bad times. And the pendant Leo still have, she instantly recognized when he mentioned the pendant back at Gongmen City. Kaira has kept quiet about it. She also wondered what happened to the half of the pendant.
"It's been twenty years." Kaira muttered.
The Furious Five and Shifu watched Po put his suitcase on the cart. Leo stood by the cart. He watches The Dragon Warrior turn to the Furious Five.
"Well, I guess this is it, you guys." The panda said.
Monkey was the first to approach his best friend. "I'm going to miss you, Po." Monkey said with hand out.
Po grabs the monkey's hand, getting a shock from his best friend's hand.
"Ha ha! You still fall for it every time!" Monkey laughs at the panda. He removes it and hands it over to the panda. "Here. Don't stay away too long, okay?"
"Heh. I won't." Po chuckled.
Mantis hops onto his shoulder. "I'm going to miss you, man!" Mantis hugs the panda's shoulder.
Monkey removes Mantis off of the Dragon Warrior's shoulder.
"Here, Po." Crane said, handing the black and white bear a brown bag. "Remember to put this in your tea every morning. It still helps out with your..." the avian cleared his throat. "Problem."
"What problem?" Po tilts his head.
Crane lowered his eyes to the panda's tenders.
"Oh!" Po gasps softly as he got the message. He places the brown bag in his pocket.
Crane and Monkey made some room for Tigress and Viper. Viper looks up to the Dragon Warrior. She wraps her whole body around and gives him a friendly kiss on the cheek. Once she was done, Tigress punches the panda in the arm."
"Ow!" Po yelled as he touches the spot where he was punched, only to get another shock on his arm. "Yeowch!"
"Take care of yourself, panda." Tigress said.
"I will." Po groans. "You guys take care of yourselves too."
The Furious Five, his heroes, bows in respect to the Dragon Warrior. Po bows back and turns around to see Grand Master Shifu looking up to him.
"Master Po." Shifu bows to his student.
"Master Shifu." Po bows to him and walks by him.
"Po, be careful."
Po stops and turns to look at his master. "You really think I'm goon to mess this up, do you? Well, The Emperor thinks I can so it, Master. See you around, Grand Master Shifu."
"Po..." Shifu muttered as he watched him walks up next to Leo.
"I'll keep an eye on him, Master." Leo walks in front of him.
"Thank you, Leo." Shifu thanked him. "The two of you be safe out there."
Leo nodded his head and watch Shifu walks back to the Furious Five. Viper slithers up to the human wraps him in her coil in a friendly manner. Leo gives her a small smile in return. Once Viper releases him and joins her team, his girlfriend walks up to him and gives him a kiss on the lips.
"Look after yourselves." Tigress said to her boyfriend.
"We will, Tigress." Leo replied.
Shifu and the Furious Five watch all of them leaving the Jade Palace.
"Good luck and be safe out there." Shifu said.
Evening came around. The group has stopped walking and set up camp for the night in the middle of the bamboo forest. As Po went to talk to a couple of guards and Zhihui, Leo was patrolling the area. He decided to take a little break and sits down in front of the campfire with Pang Bing as Po sat down next to her.
"I don't think Duke Zhihui likes me that much." Po said.
"That's okay. He doesn't like anyone else either." Pang Bing replied.
"Well, it's just not him. Everyone around here doesn't take me seriously, except you and Leo. Maybe Shifu was right."
"Nonsense." Pang Bing smacks him lightly on the head. "Nobody has taken Lu Kang seriously and look at him now. He's the Emperor. He invented Pie Day Friday."
"Pie." Po started thinking about pie. "You're right, Pang Bing. Thanks. You're a good friend. I think I'm going to check up on Lu Kang."
"I'm going to continue my patrol." Leo said. He got up and walks away. Then Leo saw Enya standing several feet away from them. The young man didn't waste any time to chase her. She just stood there as Leo lunges at her. He tried to slice her, but Enya disappeared. "Where did that bitch go?" He growls softly. "We need to move."
The young man turns back and heads to the camp. Once he made it back to camp, Leo was coming around the corner until he saw Pang Bing floating with electricity at her fingers. She had an evil smirk on her face. Leo hides behind the cart and takes a peek. "I need to ask Lu Kang how long Pang Bing worked at the palace."
Before he can head to Lu Kang, a door burst open and Leo looks above his head to see Po.
"Lu Kang!" Po shouted.
"Get the panda and the human!" Zhihui ordered. "They're both traitors!"
Leo quickly jumps up in the air and fired several beams to a few ibexes with swords that was charging towards Po. He landed in front of the water buffalo.
"Is it time for pie?" Lu Kang wondered.
"Po, what's going on?"
"Zhihui is plotting against Lu Kang!" Po exclaims as he grabs Lu Kang's wrist and a nearby spear.
The three of them has started running as the guards chased after them. Po saw a cliff was coming up in front of them. He catapults himself and the Emperor to the other side. Leo spreads his fiery wings to jump and landed on the other side. Leo pulls the Dragon Warrior and the Emperor. He fired several beams to the guards in the chest so they won't get a chance to throw their spears. All three of them escaped.
Once they were far away, Po and Lu Kang stops running and panted.
"We need... to take... a rest..." Lu Kang panted.
"I think... that's not a... bad... idea after... all..." Po wheezed as he collapses backwards.
Leo lands in front of them.
"Now what... do we do?"
"We head back to the Jade Palace and come up with a plan." Leo responded.
"Yeah." Po caught his breath and stands up. He looks at the water buffalo. "Are you still thinking about that riddle?"
"Don't tell me. Is it a soap bubble?"
Leo rolls his eyes in annoyance. "Come on. Let's get back to the Jade Palace."
All three of made it back to the Valley Of Peace. They climbed the staircase to the palace arena and made it to the top. Before they can enter, Tigress was thrown out of the palace. Po and Leo pushed the emperor to the ground to avoid getting seen. The Dragon Warrior winced as he watches Tigress gets defeated. Two rhino guards grab her arms and drags her back inside.
"Wait here." Leo whispers to them. He gets up and approaches the door silently and peeks his head inside. The rhino drops Tigress next to the reat of the Furious Five who was tied up and defeated. Their master was getting beaten. Zhihui stood there and watched. Leo silently backs up to join the other two.
"What did you find out?" Po asks him.
"Zhihui is already here and Shifu and the Furious Five are defeated." Leo reported.
"Hm. Then we'll go through the sewers."
"You go, Po. I'll stay up here to look for a way in." Leo replied.
"Ok. Be careful." Po said as he and Lu Kang left the human.
Leo scanned the area before proceeding to spread his fiery wings. He flew close to the palace and lands on top of the roof. There was no one there on top of the roof but him. This his eyes were laid on Enya who was taunting him. Leo growls under his breath as he came at her with a flying sidekick.
But Enya simply ducked before disappearing into thin air.
"I'll deal with her later after we save Shifu and the Five." Leo thought.
"Be careful." Kaira said in his mind.
Leo sneaks into the library very quietly. He takes a peek outside to see several rhinos standing guard. There was one standing outside the library. Leo sneaks up behind the guard and knocks him out cold. It took him a couple minutes to chock several guards' unconscious without causing alert.
He saw Po and Lu Kang coming from a hole in the floor and hiding behind a jade column. Leo silently climbs a column and watched Po silently trying to find Zhihui. He turns around and came face-to-face with Zhihui. As the two started fighting, Leo saw Pang Bing coming in the hall floating. Pang Bing lands on the ground and rushes up behind Zhihui.
Then Leo saw Enya standing in between the rooster and the cat. Leo dives in between Zhihui and Pang Bing. He quickly knocks out Zhihui with a chop, punches Pang Bing across the face before firing his laser towards Enya. But Enya, once again dodges the attack and disappeared.
"Gah." Po groans as he stands up back on his feet. "Thanks for the save."
"Where's the Emperor?"
"Hiding behind that suit of armor."
"Good to know." Pang Bing smiles evilly. The cat started to float with blue electric emitted from her body.
"I knew it!" Leo snarls angrily.
"Thinking was your first mistake!" Pang Bing exclaims as she fires electricity at them.
Po jumps backwards and looks over his shoulder to see Leo blocking the electric with his sword. He was pushed back to Po's side.
Pang Bing floats to the two men.
"Pang Bing!? I thought we were pals!" Po exclaims.
"She's an evil sorceress!" Leo looks at the panda. "I saw electricity in her paws back at camp and floated inside without even walking!"
"Is that what tipped you off?" Pang Bing smirks at him before firing electricity at the two men.
They both quickly separated. Leo dives to a nearby column and blocks the electric.
"Human, you're going to need my power to win this fight!" Kaira shouted.
"Way ahead of you!" Leo exclaims as he spreads his fiery wings and fires a orange beam at the sorceress.
The Sorceress dodges the attack and got Po with her electric attack.
"Po!" Leo shouted as he flew towards the panda.
Pang Bing landed on the floor. "Get Lu Kang!" She ordered Zhihui.
Zhihui entered into a trance. "Yes, Master." He bows to her.
Po stands beside Leo. "Why are you doing this?" Po asked her.
Pang Bing paused for a minute. She looks at the captive Lu Kang before looking back at the Dragon Warrior and the human. "Since the dawn of the first dynasty, my mystical order has been around for generations. We hope to use our magic to help bring peace and prosperity for everyone to be enlighten amongst all. But they were all simple stupid minded folks. Fearing our power, they shunned us. I explain our good intentions to the Emperor, but he was ignorant as he ruled his people and ordered our arrest. I was the only one to escape. Over the centuries, I've mastered the power that would make my revenge on the people and their tyrannical emperor. Mind control."
"And let me guess." Leo points at Lu Kang. "The Emperor who ordered your arrest was Lu Kang's father."
"Correct."
"Look, none of those people matter anymore because they're not around anymore. It was a thousand years ago." Po said.
"You look great by the way."
"Why do you want to mind control us?" Po asked her.
"Because I can. Except for Lu Kang." Pang Bing turns around to the water buffalo. "He's too simple to be controlled. A mind that can only be focus on one thought at a time. He is impervious to my magic."
"I like olives." Lu Kang smiled.
"Well, love to disappoint you because you won't get the chance to control my mind that easily." Leo sneers at her.
"So I took Duke Zhihui and the guards instead." Pang Bing admitted. "Soon, I will control all the minds in China. At the eclipse, I will perform the ritual of infusing and my power will increase a million a fold!" The Siamese cat started levitating and shoots out electricity. "I know that this imbecile is the only one to ruin my plans."
"I am?"
"But you won't."
"I won't."
"No! And neither will your idiot panda friend and the human!" She turns to Lu Kang.
"Uh, that's idiot Dragon Warrior to you." Po corrected her. He threw a rock at a suit of armor.
Leo fires his orange beam at the Siamese Cat's lightning attack, allowing Po to rescue Lu Kang. He delivers a punch to Zhihui and a couple guards before grabbing him. They made a break to the hole.
"After them!" Pang Bing ordered, firing her electricity.
Leo blocks the attack with his sword. "Go! I'll cover you!" Leo shouted behind his shoulder to the Dragon Warrior and the Emperor.
Once Lu Kang was down the hole, it was Po's turn. He was halfway down the hole and saw Leo standing there. "Come on, Leo!" he calls to him.
But Leo ignores him and fires a orange beam at a nearby column. Po yells in surprise and went down the hole as the column blocks the hole. Leo knocks out a guard with a punch to the gut and a kick across the face to a second guard. Leo spreads his fiery wings out and flew into the air before releasing several orange beams at the guards and Pang Bing. The guards weren't lucky to avoid the attack, but Pang Bing did and fires her electricity at him. Leo dodges the attack and was about to counter back when he saw the other guards remove the column and went down the hole.
"Time for a retreat!" Leo growled as he fires a orange beam at them before escaping the Hall Of Heroes. He looks back at the Jade Palace one more time before flying off into the night sky. The young man was now flying above the mountain passage until Enya came flying above Leo and grabs him by surprise. She started delivering hard punches to his head as the two fell. When they were close, Enya delivers one strong punch to the side of head as they crashed into the ground and Leo fell unconscious.
The next morning, Leo started groaning and sat up as he rubs his head. He can hear multiple footsteps coming from the edge. The young man rolls onto his stomach and crawls to the edge of the cliff. Master Shifu and the imprisoned Furious Five were being escorted by Zhihui and some guards. Pang Bing was levitating close by. They walked by Leo unnoticed.
The coast was clear. Leo stands up. "They're on their way to capital." Leo muttered. "Shit!"
"That bitch, Pang Bing, will find it difficult to control us." Kaira spoke.
"But we still have no idea who sent this scroll. I don't Pang Bing sent this." Leo takes the scroll out of his pocket. But Leo heard a twig snapped. He turns around to see a cloak figure running away. "Hey!"
The young man started running after the hooded figure. The chase went on into the bamboo forest clearing. Leo fires a beam at the hooded figure. The hooded figure jumps to dodge the beam and stops to turn to face Leo.
"Who are you?" Leo asks cautiously. He watches the the hooded figure threw the cloak to reveal a man in his early fifties. He wore a dark purple robe with a scar over his orange eyes. His black hair was in a short ponytail.
"I am Shou Kitamura." The man replied.
"Why are you here?"
He drew his orange katana and getting into his fighting stance.
"To kill you!" Shou shouted as he disappeared in an instant and reappeared in front of the surprised young man.
"Human!" The White-Tailed Beast shouted.
