Here we go again! I told you, it wouldn't be a long wait! I am making chapters at a record pace at this point. I am jumping between making chapters for two other stories, hence the delay. Don't worry. I won't keep y'all waiting over a year for at least a long while. You have my word as a man.

Chapter 27: The Downfall of Deliora

Lector's, Frosch's, and Happy's eyes went wide at Carla's Transformation. She looked to be a young girl about the same age as Wendy. Her tail flicked in the wind. It had a red ribbon on it. She also had shoulder length hair with cat ears on top. Her outfit changed its size to match Carla's new physique. Happy regained his composure first and asked, "C-Carla? Is that you?"

Carla turned her gaze to look at Happy and she smiled as she said, "Indeed it is, Love." Happy asked, "What happened to you?" Carla answered, "I learned this awhile ago. Never had a reason to reveal it though, until now as we will be facing one of Zeref's strongest demons. It improves my magic power tenfold." Carla made several hand signs and magic circles appeared below each of them. Carla said, "Heavenly Exceed Secret Art, twelve layer magic circle, protection from evil!" She made several more hand signs as more magic circles appeared below everyone.

Carla said, "Heavenly Exceed Secret Art, twelve layer magic circle, speed of the gods!" Carla made more signs and said, "Heavenly Exceed Secret Art, twelve layer magic circle, Strength of the Gods!" She made several more hand signs, causing her hair to begin flowing freely with magic power as she said, "Heavenly Exceed Forbidden Art, thirty layer magic circle, DEATH DEFIANCE!"

Everyone was glowing a bright white and Lector asked, "You sure you can spend this much magic?" Carla replied, her face coated in sweat, "Yes. I can. As long as I am near Happy, my magic will replenish quickly. Now. We are ready. Don't worry about the last one. It's a worst case scenario. However, it does last most of the day, the downside is I can only cast it maybe once a month. So. Let's go!"

Happy said, "Alright. Your new form will take some getting used to, but let's go bag ourselves a demon." Happy immediately activated his battle form and ran towards the Sabertooth guild hall. The others, hot on his tail. As they approached the guild hall, another roar caused the guild hall to begin crumbling slightly.

Happy tried to open the door, but found it was locked. Happy growled, "Fuck it." Happy immediately kicked the door in, sending it flying off its hinges. Happy yelled, "ON ME!" He ran into the guild hall, lighting the torches on the wall as he ran past them. He made it to the main area and saw something get launched towards him.

Happy immediately leapt up and destroyed the table with a punch. Happy looked up and saw Deliora. Frosch said, his voice changing as he growled, "This is the one we need to kill? How dare it destroy our guild hall!" Lector hissed and took to the sky, Frosch and Happy right behind him. Happy yelled behind him, "Keep yourself safe Carla! You are our lifeline in this!" Carla replied, "You got it! I will attack it from a distance with my magic!" Happy growled, "Perfect. Frosch. Lector." The two exceeds look at him, tears in their eyes. Happy hissed, "Death, Murder, and Kill! Let's send this bastard back to Hell from whence it came!" The two Exceeds said, "Sounds like a plan to me."

Frosch yowled, "Way of Shadows, Secret Art, Shadow's Protection!" Frosch was covered in an armor made entirely of Shadows as he appeared to vanish from sight. Lector yowled, "Way of Light, Secret Art, Light Artillery!"

The top of the Guild Hall exploded as shells of Light erupted through striking Deliora's back. It roared in annoyance and lime green energy gathered around its mouth. Happy dropped into what appeared to be a defensive stance as he yowled, "HELLFIRE, FORBIDDEN ART, SHIELD OF TORMENT!" A shield of tormented souls appeared around the Exceeds and the Sabertooth guildhall. Carla yowled, "The hell are you doing, Happy?!"

Happy replied mentally, 'Trying to contain the explosion!' As Deliora unleashed the attack, a massive explosion shook the entire guild hall. Happy grunted in effort as it took everything he had to keep the shield up. Once everything had settled down, Happy dropped to one knee and coughed up a small mouthful of blood. Carla yelled, "HAPPY!" Happy slowly got up, thankful he blocked Carla from feeling his pain, and replied, "I'm fine, Love."

Happy's gaze shot up and he growled, "As for you. The one known as Deliora. You've made a grave mistake, attacking my friends and mate; now, YOU MUST PAY!" Happy got into the Iced Shell stance as fire began flowing freely around him. He yelled, "Everyone aside from Deliora, TAKE TO THE SKY! NOW!" The Exceeds obeyed his command and Happy roared, "HELLFIRE, FORBIDDEN ART, HELLSCAPE!"

As Happy finished the spell, fire surrounded his body as magic power flowed from him into his paws. His entire body became enveloped in fire and his eyes became flame orange. As he unleashed the attack, the Sabertooth guild hall vanished as everything around Happy changed and morphed into lava, dangerous cliffs, lava falls, demons flying in the air, and a dark red hazy fog. Deliora roared in pain as it began sinking in the lava.

Frosch took this chance and growled, "Way of Shadows Poisonous Strike!" Frosch reappeared and dove towards Deliora, a small green dagger in his hand. As he stabbed it into Deliora's back, Deliora swung up towards Frosch with an arm. It struck Frosch and sent him flying to the side. Lector yowled, "FROSCH NO!" Lector flew towards Frosch and caught him before he could fall to the Hellscape below. Lector's eyes flashed white and he growled, "Way of Light, Secret Art, Lawful Smite." Clouds appeared above Happy's Hellscape. They began swirling as a cloud of light was formed. A ginormous beam of light slammed into Deliora. Deliora roared in pain and green began swirling around its maw again.

Carla yowled, "HAPPY! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Happy replied, "I CAN'T! IF I STOP DOING THE STANCE, DELIORA WILL BE FREE!" Carla hissed, "By the Ten Wizard Saints, you're stubborn!" Carla hissed, "Heavenly Exceed, Substitution!" Happy vanished from where he was as a table took his place. As the attack made contact with the table, the entire guild hall exploded.

Carla acted fast and said, "Heavenly Exceed, Forbidden Art, ten layer magic circle, God's Reversal!" As Carla finished the spell, the guild hall's pieces stopped moving and began moving back in time as it rebuilt itself. Lector looked at her and said, "How the fu… Nevermind."

Carla dropped to one knee. Happy reappeared next to her. He looked at her and opened his mouth to ask something, but Carla interrupted him and said, "You're stuck here with me for a bit. I am running on empty. This form takes a lot out of me."

Happy's body was drenched in sweat. Just as Deliora's head was about to drop below the lava, Happy couldn't hold it anymore. He fell to his stomach and the Hellscape vanished. Deliora roared, causing the guild hall to begin collapsing again. Happy was gasping for breath and struggled to his paws. His battle form had disappeared. Carla looked at him and shook her head as she scolded him gently, "Always using all of your Magic Energy. Silly Tomcat." Happy replied weakly, "I still have enough for one more attack." Carla said, "Rest for a bit my love. Leave it to us. You had to have weakened it." Happy got to his paws weakly and said, "I can't do that. Fuck it. I'm taking some from tomorrow.

Frosch had woken up and saw Lector was carrying him. Frosch broke free of Lector's grasp. Happy yelled, "FROSCH AND LECTOR! THINK YOU GOT ENOUGH TO DO A BREATH ATTACK?" Lector replied, "HOW THE FUCK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO USE A BREATH ATTACK?! WE AREN'T DRAGONSLAYERS!" Happy responded, "JUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES DAMN IT!"

Lector and Frosch shared a confused glance but prepared for Happy's command. Happy activated his Aera Wings and flew towards Lector and Frosch. The Three Exceeds were focused on evading Deliora's attacks. Once Happy saw an opening, he roared, "NOW!"

Happy yelled, "HELLFIRE ROAR!" Frosch yelled, "BLACKSHADOW ROAR!" Lector yelled, "HOLYLIGHT ROAR!" Carla joined in from her position and yelled, "HEAVENLY EXCEED ROAR!" The roars combined into one breath attack. As it struck Deliora's arm, the arm evaporated into a fine mist of blood. After the attack landed, Happy's Aera wings flickered and vanished as Happy fell to the ground. Before anyone could react, Deliora caught Happy in its mouth and crushed him immediately. Deliora shook its head like a dog playing with a chew toy. Deliora threw Happy's body and it landed next to Carla. Carla yelled, tears in her eyes, "HAPPY! NO!" She looked at him, her rage filling to its limit, not realizing she had not felt Happy's pain.

Frosch's and Lector's eyes welled. They turned their gaze to Deliora. Lector yelled, "HOW DARE YOU KILL HIM! YOU FUCKING BASTARD!" Lector let his rage overflow and he growled, "Holylight, Forbidden Art, Crucifixion." Deliora was immediately stuck to a cross, unable to move. Frosch growled, "Blackshadow, Forbidden Art, Shadow's Feast!" Shadows began to surround Deliora's body, eating away at it. Parts of Deliora began to fall to the ground. All of the Exceeds were at their limit of rage. Carla hissed, "Heavenly Exceed, Forbidden Art, Heaven's Vengeance!" A Celestial Being appeared in front of Deliora. It began ripping Deliora apart. Carla was about to use the chant, when she heard a gasp of breath beside her. Carla shot a glance at Happy's corpse, but gasped as the wounds were healed. She immediately remembered the last spell she cast before they had entered the guild hall.

Happy gasped for breath, his injuries healed. He coughed up a large mouthful of blood and struggled to his paws. He muttered, "Fuck me. Was that the feeling of Death? I gotta be more careful from now on. I did not like that feeling. And I would've left Carla alone in this world."

Carla picked Happy up and hugged him tightly. She hissed in his ear, "If you ever scare me like that again, I will never forgive you. Do I make myself clear?!" Happy gulped in fear and said weakly, "Loud and clear." Carla hissed, "Good. Now rest dumbass!" Happy replied, "I will."

Slowly but surely, the three exceeds' forbidden arts took care of Deliora once and for all. Once Deliora was dead. Frosch and Lector landed on the ground, tears in their eyes. They looked for Carla and saw her. Their spirits immediately soared as they saw Happy's injuries were no more and he was in Carla's lap, his head on her thigh. Both Exceeds' ran over and opened their mouth to ask something, but Carla said quietly, "Shush. Both of you. He is alright and getting some much needed rest." Lector and Frosch said quietly in unison, "Thank fuck."
