Aziraphale's thoughts raced as he stepped into the elevator. Did he really want to do this? Did he really want to return to Heaven? Did he really want to be the Supreme Archangel? Why wasn't he back in his bookshop with Crowley? Why did he reject Crowley? Crowley was everything that he had ever wanted. How could he have said those words to Crowley? "I forgive you." Three words had never tasted so bitter on his tongue. And to have told Crowley that he could be an angel again? What was wrong with him?

He looked back out at the street as the elevator doors began to close. Crowley stood by his Bently. One hand on the roof, the other on his tip. Dark glasses obscured his yellow eyes. Aziraphale's heart shuttered inside his chest. Crowley was waiting for him. Waiting for the angel to go to where he belonged. Everything inside Aziraphale wanted to walk off that elevator and join Crowley. To kiss his demon. Yes, his demon. So why wasn't he moving? What was wrong with his legs? Why couldn't he get them to move? His body wasn't obeying his commands. His thoughts shouted inside his head. Willing his demon to hear them and come pull him free of the elevator. The elevator doors closed and Aziraphale felt his heart shatter.

The elevator began its assent into the sky and Heaven. As it did so, Aziraphale felt his thoughts change. Why was he so anxious? He was returning to Heaven. Returning home. He is happy. Yes, he is happy to be returning home. Why had he been so worried? He was with the Metatron. He was the new Supreme Archangel of Heaven. He was about to start the Second Coming. Everything was as it should be.

"NO! Crowley. I need to return to Crowley!"

"Who is Crowley?"

Aziraphale blinked. His thoughts became light as a fog entered his mind. Everything is as it should be. The elevator dinged, singling that it had reached its destination. The doors slid open revealing the archangels Michael, Uriel, and Saraqael. They all smiled so beautifully. "Welcome your Grace. Welcome back to Heaven, Supreme Archangel Aziraphale." They chorused.

"Please, Supreme Archangel, follow me." Uriel indicated the hall behind them. "I will take you to your new office." They turned and began to walk down the Hall. With a nod to the others, Aziraphale followed behind them. As they traveled down the beautiful white halls of Heaven, Aziraphale felt the magic of Heaven shiver over him. His normal tartan and soft colors became the pure white of Heaven.

"Here is your office, your Supremeness." Uriel stopped outside an all-white room. "You'll find that it is fitted with everything that you will ever need."

Aziraphale entered the room, the door closing behind him.
