Chapter 12

The side door of the warehouse banged open and Artemis turned, expecting to see her whole pack. Instead, there was only the one werewolf.
"Artemis?" He called as he took in his surroundings. He was a fairly good looking, definitely well built, kid about Artemis's age.
"Daniel?" She was confused to see him alone and walked up to him, when they reached each other they embraced. Daniel smirked as they pulled away from each other, "Why are you so surprised? Expecting someone else?"
"No. Just surprised that you actually came alone."

Daniel quickly looked over his shoulder and stretched uncertainly.
"Of course I came alone. That's what you wanted," he stepped closer, "What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't give my girl what she wanted?"
He cupped one of his hands over Artemis's cheek and tried to kiss her.
"Ew, hell no, man! You think I asked you here so you could kiss me?"
Artemis pushed him away, "No! We broke up and that's that. This was a mistake.'
"Wait, Artemis. I'm sorry. Why did you ask me here tonight?"
"Because I need you to do me a favour."
"Sure, what?"
"I need you to lead the pack away from me."
"Why?"
"I teamed up with the True Alpha Scott McCall. I know Becky wants to kill me, but I still care about you guys. I wouldn't want any of you to get hurt."

Suddenly a voice came from behind Artemis,
"You think we're scared of some werewolf who's never killed before?"
Artemis whirled around to see her used-to-be-best-friend step out from behind a crate. She thought to herself, So it wasn't just something falling over earlier. She chided herself, I should have checked, Stupid.

"Becky," she sighed, crossing her arms, "I should have known you'd be here."
"Well, I guess you're still just the same stupid little runt of the litter."
Becky's pack of about 10-15 surrounded Artemis who turned to Daniel, "I knew I couldn't trust you."
He looked confused and asked, "Then why did you want me to come?"
"For this,"

The warehouse door slammed shut and bright lights started flashing, Artemis had seen hunters use these bright flashes to disorient werewolves before. This time though, she was prepared. She ducked for cover and squeezed her eyes shut as she pushed past the enemy wolves to hide behind a crate. There, waiting with his claws out, was Liam.

"Hey," she nodded to him, "thanks for helping me. And again, I'm really sorry for kidnapping you, I hope I didn't hurt you too much."
"Don't worry. I still hate you; I'm only doing this because I can't get even with you if you're dead.
Artemis nodded as she broke eye contact in her mind she was thinking, Wow, I can't say I'm surprised. Out loud she said,
"I totally understand, but can we talk about it after we deal with this?"

Liam shrugged and leapt out from behind the crate as sounds of fighting started echoing against the walls of the warehouse. Artemis took a deep breath, shifted to her werewolf form and joined the people she hoped to be her new friends in battle against the people who used to be her friends.

A/N: Again, please review and let me know what you think. I'm always open to constructive criticism. I'm not sure if I'll have the next chapter out by next Friday. Next week will be busy and, frankly, I'm losing inspiration for this story. But I'll try all the same. So, apologies in advance if I do end up not posting on time.
