The human had a sin-soaked hand above the pommel of her blade, she swiped the sweat-soaked hair from her forehead after taking off her helmet, throwing it to the ground, watching as it hit the floor. Beads of perspiration inked her face, the human had hellish thoughts speeding through her mind. Why are we killing beings who did not do anything that was said was done? They never did take any of our souls, yet we killed many of them! Near the hundreds. It's disgusting of us, I'm deeply ashamed for I am not innocent. I spilled the blood of mothers, fathers, grandparents, and children. I am tainted with more blood than the average human soldier. Why couldn't I see that this was a horrible thing to do? I never will see the sun again after this, God. I beg of you, damn me to the deepest part of hell for I do not deserve to see even the tiniest ray of light for as long as I am damned to walk this hellish ground. Punish me for I have sinned. Punish me for the crimes I have committed against the most innocent of beings.

The human wished to atone for every one of her horrid sins, but there is only so much you could atone for in one lifetime. The light sprinkles of rain started to become heavier as if the sky began to cry out because this death that it was forced to bear witness to for so long. Monsters were a peaceful race, they tried to communicate with the genocidal humans who appeared merciless when this "war" had first begun. Though.. this was no war, it was indeed a genocide that was hidden behind the words that humanity managed to glorify behind a wall of shining silver and gold wrapped with the bold words of 'justice'.

Puddles of dust and rain accumulated in the small potholes on the stone streets, the human ran through them, her heavy boot splashing through the puddle and disturbing the thin layer of dust that had built up on top of it. More dust was added to the outsole of her boots, she approached another human soldier who was yelling out to others. He turned to face the woman, his dark red eyes widening ever so slightly with surprise, he did not expect this woman to be done so quickly as she did take her time with patrolling through the monster cities, she was not one to leave any monster alive. She was the ideal soldier, cold, calculating and unforgiving. That's what was expected of these soldiers.

"Rather quick today, are you?"

The human male asked with a rugged voice, a smile forming over his scarred lips, he pushed up the helmet over his eyes, his chin held light stubble that added to this rugged features. His eyes narrowed slightly as he had gotten a better look at the woman's eyes, she seemed as if she was on the verge of tears. Was she injured by those rats? Where? Why would she shed tears over an injury which would be so little that she did not bleed heavily? Perhaps her soul had taken some kind of damage. He didn't understand, maybe she had twisted her ankle or sprained it, but she didn't appear to be limping.

"Why are you on the verge of tears, Silver? Fatigued or injured?"

The woman said nothing, not even the simplest of answers for she had no reason to provide an answer with her words. She just shook her head then put her hands on her knees, panting heavily as her chest rose and fell with ever breath she took. She closed her eyes tightly, her soul squeezed in her chest. After a few minutes, all of the humans in said area began to disappear to the other areas of the town, the screaming of children could be heard. It struck her soul heavily, filling her chest with a sense of helplessness and dread.

She unsheathed her blade then waited until some of her human companions separated from the group, she raised her blade, her heart beating hard enough that she swore she could hear it in her ears. She cut those humans down with no mercy just as she had done with the monsters just today before her heart had turned to the light of all things good. She wiped away the blood from her steel blade, grunting silently.
