A Thankful Heart-Ch 3
A few hours later Penelope got up, took a quick shower and got dressed and had just finished putting her shoes on when Derek arrived back at her apartment, she walked over and opened the door and said, "Happy Thank" and then his lips was on hers and his arms were around her waist pulling her closer to him.
When they pulled apart she said, "wow", he laughed and said, "good morning sweetness and Happy Thanksgiving to you", she smiled at him and said, "good morning and Happy Thanksgiving to you too", he grinned and then sighed as he reluctantly pulled apart and made his way over to the counter to get her contributions for the holiday meal.
Penelope had not only made his favorite pie but she's also made a peach pie and double chocolate cupcakes with some brownies thrown in for good measure, she wanted everybody to enjoy the desserts, especially since everybody was going to be together today and her BAU family would get to meet the rest of her family.
Derek said, "baby, you didn't have to make all of this, you know that right?", she said, "I know, I know but I wanted too", he smiled and said, "alright, let's get this stuff carried out to my truck and head over to momma and Rossi's so that we can get this party starteddddddd", she laughed at him and shook her head as they grabbed the stuff and headed out of her apartment.
A few minutes later they were walking through the front door at casa Rossi, they were met at the door by Fran and Dave who helped take the stuff out of Derek and Penelope's hands as they made their way through to the kitchen.
Fran looked at Derek and Penelope and could tell that something was up so she said, "okayyyyy, what's going on here?", Penelope said, "well", Derek said, "Penelope's brothers and sisters-in-law should be here around noon like I told you earlier", Fran said, "and I told you honey, the more the merrier".
Penelope said, "thank you Fran", she said, "honey, your family is our family so it's no problem at all", she then looked at her son and said, "spill it son", he said, "well I asked Penelope to be my girlfriend and she accepted", Fran smiled and after putting the brownies down on the counter threw her arms around her and said, "ohhh honey it's about time".
JJ, Emily and the others walked into the room when they heard Fran squealing, JJ said, "what's going on here?", Fran said, "Derek asked Penelope to be his girlfriend and she said, yesssssssssss", JJ, Emily, Sarah and Desi squealed as they threw their arms around her.
Reid walked over to Derek and said, "it's about time", Derek said, "I hear ya pretty boy, I hear ya" as the men then congratulated Derek and then Penelope on the news that they were finally dating and getting Fran one step closer to those beautiful grandbabies she's been waiting on.
