In U.A. Academy...
Adrien was so busy during classes that he never noticed that Marinette had called him a few times.
Five times to be exact.
He's been busy this whole time, and he figured that she'd be busy too school just starting. He was finally done with classes and having lunch as Chloe and him heading out. He held his phone, knowing full well that he could get into trouble if he called her during school. AllMight had already left, but he didn't want to get caught in the hallways.
"Is everything okay?" Chloe asked him.
"Yeah. It's just that Marinette called me five times," Adrien said back, "She never calls me that much unless it was important."
Chloe gave him a concerned look, and they hesitated on what to do.
"Did you check your voicemails?" Chloe asked him.
"No. I haven't checked. I don't want to get into trouble," Adrien said to her.
They both exited the classroom as Adrien worried about Marinette. He soon noticed Class 2-A coming out of their classroom and spotted Midoriya. He ran over to him with his phone out of his school bag. Iida noticed him holding it, worried that he might get into trouble.
"Adrien! Put your phone away!" Iida exclaimed a little too loudly, "You don't want Mr. Aizawa finding you looking through your phone during school."
"Dude chill. Classes are over," Ashido said to him, "It's fine."
Adrien looked at his phone, and Midoriya noticed him looking really worried about something. They walked to the cafeteria, but Adrien never let go of his phone for some reason. He kept wondering if he should listen to the voicemail.
"Adrien, is something wrong?" Uraraka asked him.
"I-I'm... I'm not sure," Adrien told them, "Marinette called me five times last night. I didn't even notice until just now. She left me a voicemail, but I haven't listened to it yet."
Midoriya's eyes widened and ran over to him, looking just as concerned as him.
"Wait, Marinette called you?" Midoriya asked him, "She called me three times last night."
That caught Adrien's attention, and he instantly worried about her. He didn't understand why he would call both him and Midoriya so late at night. There were no akumas over in Paris anymore, so he didn't know what other reason there was to call him so late.
"Who's Marinette?" Skylar asked, really curious, "Is she Adrien's girlfriend or something?"
"Yeah. She is," Adrien said to her, "We've been together for a while now."
"Adrien. You should at least check your voicemail during lunch," Midoriya said back, "It could be important."
They all went to grab some lunch, and Adrien quickly grabbed something. He didn't really care what it was and soon sat down in his seat along with Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida, Yaoyorozu, Todoroki and Skylar. It made it a little awkward to be sitting next to someone that didn't know anything about Paris and what they've been through. He looked through his voicemail and soon found Marinette's. He felt a little nervous and hesitated to press on it.
Midoriya watched him in the corner of his eye, and soon Adrien pressed the button.
"Adrien. Look I know you're busy, but something's come up. I did my usual night patrol with the girls, and we found something in Chrysalis's lair..."
Adrien's eyes widened in shock and looked at Midoriya with concern. He kept listening and tried to block out the noise around him to listen to it.
"Someone is clearly staying there. They might even be looking through the machine. For some reason, there's files on Class 2-A. Somehow there's information on all of them and their quirks."
Adrien felt sick to his stomach and looked at Midoriya, and he knew that something was wrong. Something about it bothered him, but didn't know what to make of this. Whatever was going on, he had to make sure that it wasn't anything important. He hoped that things were okay with Marinette and that they didn't have to do anything over there.
"Whatever is going on with the portal, it's leaking out information and going right to the machine. I don't know if this means anything, but I hope there's nothing weird going on with you and Izuku. Please let me know soon."
The voicemail ended.
Adrien looked at his phone, and everyone noticed Adrien looking a little pale. Even Skylar was a little worried about him.
"Dude. You're really pale," Skylar pointed out, "Is everything okay with your girlfriend?"
Adrien didn't know what to say with Skylar around. He looked at Midoriya like he really needed to talk to him alone.
"Izuku, I really need to talk to you. Alone," Adrien said back without looking urgent.
They all looked worried around the table, but they stayed where they were. Skylar got curious and stared at them until they left the cafeteria. They both soon entered the restroom and no one was in there. Adrien leaned onto the sink, feeling a little sick to his stomach again. Something about this bothered him, and he didn't know why. Maybe it was because he wasn't there to help her. He wanted to be there to check on things, but he couldn't.
"Adrien. What's going on? Why do you want to talk alone?" Midoriya asked him.
"It's Marinette. She's found something in Chrysalis's lair," Adrien told him.
"That place is still up? I thought that you guys finally got rid of it before you came here," Midoriya said back, "Why would you keep that up and running?"
"I don't know. We were busy, and I don't even remember what happened the last time we went there," Adrien told him, "It was a long time ago. That's not even what's bothering me. Someone is staying there. It's possible that they have gone through those files on that machine. Something is going on with the portal. For some reason, there's files on everyone in your class... including everyone's quirks."
He noticed Midoriya's face look just as pale as his in that moment. His eyes were wide and weren't looking away from Adrien anytime soon. He brushed his hair back, clearly overwhelmed by what they found out.
"Wh-What... What does this mean? That someone is trying to find us in your Paris?" Midoriya asked him.
"I don't know what this means. It could mean nothing. Whoever this person is could've been just staying there to find somewhere to sleep," Adrien said to him, "This might not mean anything at all. She's just worried about you guys and can't come over herself. I think she's just checking in to make sure everything's okay."
Midoriya still didn't look convinced as he paced the floor. Adrien wanted to do something about this as well, but didn't know what to do. Then he realized that the information was being through the portal.
"Do you think Mr. Yagi and Mr. Aizawa would let us go see Melissa and Mei? Just to check on the portal?" Adrien asked him, "Maybe if we check with them, it'll help Marinette in some way. They might even know what's going on."
Midoriya seemed to relax once he suggested seeing Melissa and Hatsume. He noticed him looking down at his Miraculous and wondered if something happened with it. Adrien for a moment felt like he felt a slight pull towards it for some reason. It was barely there, but there was definitely something going on with it.
"Izuku. Is something going on with your Miraculous?" Adrien asked him, "You've been recharging that thing for so long now."
Midoriya seemed a little thrown off by him asking him about his Miraculous. He could tell just based on his reaction that something obviously happened with it.
"Actually, yes. I could swear that it glowed this morning," Midoriya told him, "I thought that maybe I was seeing things, but it was glowing pink and green just like Marinette and your Miraculous."
Adrien's eyes widened in shock, wondering if this was a coincidence. It seemed a little weird that his Miraculous would act this way right when this happens with the portal and machine. Something about it just seemed really bizarre.
"Yeah. We need to go see Melissa and Mei right away."
In U.A. Academy...
After lunch, Adrien and Midoriya headed over to the support class. Everyone that sat at the table with them worried about Marinette, but stayed with their classmates. They cleared things up with Mr. Aizawa, and he was surprisingly okay with them checking on the portal. He would check on things with them, but he had to make sure that everyone was looked after.
"Oh! Can I go too?" Skylar asked them, "I never got the chance to explore the school!"
They felt bad that she couldn't come, but they couldn't risk bringing someone new into the support lab. Hatsume and Melissa were busy, and they didn't have time to go over everything with Skylar. They felt like they had to explain things soon with her.
"Sorry Skylar. Maybe next time," Adrien said to her.
"This is important. I'm sure Melissa and Mei would love to meet you soon," Midoriya explained to her.
They both left right away before Skylar could run off with them. They side glanced at her, and she looked upset that she couldn't come. She was really interested in the school, but they couldn't have rummaging through everything in the lab. She was too curious about things and didn't want to get into trouble with Powerloader.
"She's a little clingy to us. Don't you think?" Adrien asked him, "I'm kind of used to it from being a fashion model, but not here."
"You'll get used to it after a while," Midoriya said back, "Skylar's just a little excited to be new here."
"I guess... She's just seems a little different from everyone else here, and that says a lot," Adrien said to him.
"You noticed it too? I've been thinking the same thing," Midoriya said back, "I can't pinpoint it, but I swear that I've bumped into her before. Something about her just feels familiar."
Adrien and Midoriya thought about it for a moment as they headed over to the support lab. Adrien couldn't think of anything, but he knew that Skylar was just like any other girl here at U.A., just naturally strong.
"Yeah. I can't think of anything," Midoriya said to him, already exhausted thinking about.
"Me either. Come on, we don't want to miss all of our classes," Adrien said to him.
They soon came across the support lab, hoping to find something that might help Marinette. Suddenly, an explosion blew the door off of its hinges. Midoriya quickly shielded Adrien from getting hit from it as someone came walking out of the lab, coughing.
"Mei! You really need to watch what you're doing!" Melissa cried out, "You've hurt someone out here!"
Melissa soon spotted Adrien and Midoriya looking a little thrown off by the explosion coming at them. Then they saw Melissa and felt much better already.
"Hey Deku!" Melissa exclaimed as she waved the smoke away, "Sorry about that. Mei is just a little clumsy today for some reason."
"I-It's okay. As long as no ones hurt," Midoriya said back with a sweat drop, "We actually came here to check on the portal. You know, make sure everything's okay with it."
Melissa's eyes widened and was clearly surprised that they came here to check on it. They hadn't done that in a long time.
"Sure. Let me just tell Mei where I'm going," Melissa told them.
She quickly yelled at Hatsume that she was leaving for a bit, but Hatsume didn't seem to care one way or another. Melissa waved her off and walked them over to the portal. Since the portal was so big, they decided to lock it up in a specific room so it had enough space to keep it hidden. They didn't want any villains to find out they had a portal, so they even put up barriers around the room so no one could get through.
That didn't seem to help any leaks of information getting through to the machine in Paris.
"So, how are things going with Marinette? She hasn't really talked to me all that much lately," Melissa asked Adrien.
"Oh, umm... They're okay right now," Adrien said to her.
Melissa noticed that something was going on and looked at Midoriya. He too looked a little concerned about something which worried her.
"Look Melissa. Something's going on with Marinette," Midoriya explained to her, "There's this machine in their Paris that has... specific information on us. When we were stuck there, Chrysalis was trying to get information on us and our quirks. Somehow there's been some leaks coming through to that machine and now has information on all of our quirks. Specifically Class 2-A."
Melissa's eyes widened as they made their way over to a room across the hallway.
"And you think this portal is leaking information because it can connect to the internet from here to their Paris," Melissa said back, "That shouldn't be happening, but I'll see what's going on with it myself."
She opened the door with a keycard and soon made their way inside. Midoriya and Adrien came into a room that was specifically arranged for this portal. Lights turned on once they came inside to show it off. It had plenty of room to use it and to go wherever they wanted with it. Something about seeing the portal felt so weird since it had been awhile. Adrien hesitated to touch it, wondering if he could just go over there for a little bit to check on Marinette.
Melissa went over to the switch to turn on the computer screen. It lit up, and she soon looked at a couple of things to make sure it was running smoothly. Midoriya walked up to her to check on what she was looking at as Adrien looked at it in awe. He was still blown away that this thing was even real. He had left their Paris and stayed in a different Japan to become a better hero.
It sounded like something from a comic book.
Before he could touch it, he noticed Melissa looking through some things.
"Hmm... That's weird..." Melissa said out loud.
"What? What did you find?" Midoriya asked her, a little concerned.
"It seems that this portal somehow connected to something in Paris. In their Paris," Melissa explained to them, "It might be this machine that has information about you guys and your quirks. I don't know if I can get through to it though. This is just a portal after all."
Midoriya and Adrien shared a look and were worried that this might get some attention in Paris. Maybe even here in Japan. They couldn't have anyone leaking this out that U.A. had a portal like this. Villains would take advantage of this opportunity, especially the League of Villains. Midoriya noticed that they haven't done anything lately these past six months. He wondered if they were planning anything, which got him worried that they might know about this.
"Melissa, that machine... We can't let anyone know about it..." Midoriya told her, looking pale in the face.
She looked worried about asking even more questions, but Adrien seemed to understand where this was going. Midoriya looked down at his Miraculous, worried that the same thing might happen again.
"Why? Deku, what's wrong with that machine?" Melissa asked him.
Melissa looked concerned about him, and she noticed his Miraculous. Her eyes widened in shock, realizing what was going on.
"It's what took One for All from me and made this Miraculous."
In the shadows...
The doctor had found something as things were slowly unfolding. He didn't know exactly what was going on, but he was getting closer to finding out more about these Miraculous. He could tell that U.A. was hiding something and was getting closer to finding it. He tried to break through the barriers of U.A., but couldn't get anything out of it.
It frustrated him to no end since he's been doing this for six months now.
The doctor wanted so badly to get in there himself, but he knew to be patient. He had already planted some things down for his plan. Things were in motion, and he knew that he would soon get there. He kept track of something that he knew would help him get into U.A. He could barely get any more information about said Miraculous, but soon found little bits of information here and there.
But it wasn't about Miraculous.
It was information that had to do with U.A. Class 2-A to be specific. He only got a little bit of information, but it was enough to make smile widely.
He spotted someone in particular that caught his attention.
Something about finally getting a little bit of information on this class in particular made things feel much more satifying. After all, this class was the one that ruined everything. He wanted so badly to send over Nomus right then and there to capture them, but he decided to hold off for now. All he could now was wait and see if his plans would soon come to fruition. He could barely see what he was keeping an eye on because of the barrier, but he knew that he was onto something.
The doctor smiled, knowing full well that he would soon get what he wanted.
"You Class 2-A students better watch out. You have no idea what's coming."
Another amazing chapter!
This was a fun chapter to write! I like where things are heading with Midoriya and Adrien. Melissa and Hatsume are back! I love them both and are definitely going to be in it more. I'm interested to see where this goes considering the information that's being leaked out. They don't even know that someone is already finding information about the Miraculous and their classmates. The doctor's plans are already set in motion, so we'll see where things will go from here!
What's going to happen next??
More to come soon!
