The crowd's roaring was back in full effect, as the final match of the semifinals was about to begin. Uraraka stepped out onto the arena, as did Bakugo.
She knew how people expected this match to play out. Total domination. Bakugo and Todoroki were considered so far out of everyone else's league, that the media had started calling them the big two, despite the fact that it was supposed to be the big three.
It had turned to night. This was normal for the second and third year's, as they had to wait for the first years to finish first. Of course, it being this late was an oddity, due to the HPSC needing to do some "business" that delayed the Sports Festival as a whole.
Present Mic's voice rang out throughout the stadium as the countdown begun. Ochaco readied herself. She felt nervous.
Ochaco was never someone who cared about what other people thought, or at least she didn't care about that before she entered UA.
But she remembered last year's Sports Festival. How everyone looked down on her when she fought Bakugo, and booed him for treating her like an equal.
They saw her as weak, and in need of protection. But she was going to be a hero. She was the one who was supposed to protect other people!

Present Mic's voice rang out.

She took a deep breath.

"GO!!" Present Mic boomed.
Immediately, Bakugo launched himself forward with his explosions. He was heading right for Ochaco.
This surprised her. She expected him to try and stay out of her range, like last year.
She charged forward as well.
He outstretched his hand, and as he flew forward, a massive explosion launched forward. The blowback from the explosion brought Bakugo to a stop. He had used the momentum he had built up by launching himself forward to counteract the blowback from this massive explosion.
Uraraka slid on her knees, bending backwards and sliding underneath the explosion, as she continued her approach.
She got back on her feet, and dashed forward, her hand outstretched. She swiped at Bakugo, but he blocked her attack at the arm, making sure to not let her touch him with her fingertips.
He tried to send out an explosion with his other hand, but she reached out with hers, forcing him to jump backwards to avoid a second attack.
He hadn't expected her to act so recklessly. If they had both committed there, she would have been hit badly with one of his explosions point blank. But she would have won. If he was under the effects of Zero Gravity, his own explosion would've launched him out of the ring.
He grunted, and placed one hand, which was curled up in an "O" shape, on the palm of another.
A compressed explosive fired out of that palm, and Ochaco barely dodged it. It was his go to ranged attack, his "AP" shot.
He knew that she didn't stand a chance if she couldn't get in range.
Ochaco grabbed a couple of pebbles off of the ground. These had been created by Bakugos earlier explosions.
While dodging his barrage of compressed explosives, she placed one on the tip of her middle finger, and flicked it.
It fired out, quicker than Bakugo's AP shot, and hit him square in the chest.
Despite being just a pebble, it hit with a massive amount of force, hitting the wind out of him and knocking him backwards.
Bakugo was shocked by the force of the attack. As he recovered from the blow, he wheezed. "What the hell was that?"
"I've recently discovered something about my quirk. Did you know that, when something is not affected by Zero Gravity, it has nothing to stop its acceleration?" Ochaco proudly stated. "Which means that these pebbles can fly faster than your explosions!"
Bakugo grunted. He launched himself into the air, and started rapidly moving around with his explosions. Ochaco had to give it to him, if there was one area where Bakugo excelled, it was agility.
Suddenly, he catapulted himself towards her. She flicked some of the rocks she had picked up, but Bakugo dodged them with ease.
As he came in over top, she stretched her hand upwards, but he used his explosions to change his direction, launching himself down before he reached her.
He hit the ground, and grabbed her leg. Using his explosions to propel his arm, he launched her into the air.
She used her quirk on herself, which kept her floating in the air.
She counted the remaining pebbles in her hand preparing to ration them for the rest of the fight. She could already tell that he wasn't going to let her back down onto the ground.
She felt Bakugo grab her by the leg again, and panicked, and flung her fistful of pebbles.
They shot out from her palm like a shotgun blast, connecting with Bakugo's chest, and sending him flying back down to the ground.
He stood up and smirked. "You're all out of ammo now, Cheeks! It's over!" He exclaimed as he launched himself toward her with his explosions once more.
Ochaco was panicking. Even if she touched him at this point, he could launch her out of the ring before she could do anything to him. She had no ammo left, and she didn't know what to do.
Bakugo's guard was open, as he launched himself towards her. He thought he was invincible. She hadn't slipped anything into her pockets, and her hands were empty.
She was helpless.
Suddenly, Bakugo was slapped in between his eyes, on the bridge of his nose. The force of the blow made his body do a full somersault backwards in mid air.
Before his eyes rolled into the back of his head, he managed to see what he had been hit with.
It was… Uraraka's shoe?
Uraraka had panicked, and left with no other options, she did the first thing that came to her mind. She threw her left shoe at him.
Of course, that shoe just so happened to have accelerated rapidly under the effects of Zero Gravity, so it felt less like being hit by a shoe, and more like being hit by a sledgehammer.
Bakugo fell backwards, and landed outside the arena.
Present Mic loudly declared Ochaco's victory as she slowly floated down to the floor.
She looked around at the cheering crowd. The roars were deafening. She was ecstatic. Honestly, she didn't expect to defeat Bakugo like that. And, to be honest, she only really won because of his ego. If he had kept his guard up at the end, she would've been toast.
But that didn't bother the crowd. And it didn't bother her.
What did bother her was how they cheered for her, but booed Midoriya. At first she just presumed that they wanted the two UA "prodigies" to face off, but now…
She sighed. She just found it hard to believe that even heroes could be so cruel.
She walked out of the arena, as Present Mic announced that there would be another intermission before the finals.
The crowd was upset that their entertainment was being interrupted, but Ochaco was happy for the time to rest.
Aizawa stood up from his desk as he noticed something was off.
He shuffled through one of the piles of paperwork, as Hizashi ignored him.
"Something's missing," Aizawa muttered to himself.
Hizashi turned to him. "What now, Shota? C'mon, just enjoy the festival, no need to be so uptight about a bit of paperwork!"
"This isn't just some piece of paperwork, it's Midoriya's student file!"
Hizashi shrugged. "So what? All it has are his average grades, his Quirked status and his…"
He trailed off as he and Aizawa locked eyes, both coming to a realization.
"I'll get our support items," Aizawa stated, walking towards the exit.
"I'll get the car," Hizashi replied.
They walked out of the announcers booth, where Ms. Joke was waiting for them.
"Oh hey, Shota, fancy seeing you here~. You know, you and I should really-"
"No time" He cut her off. "There's an emergency, cover for us" He said, as he handed her the keys to the announcer's booth.
She shook her head. "Only if you agree to go out on a date with me!" She exclaimed.
Shota sighed, and agreed tentatively. When she accepted the deal, he made his way to follow Hizashi, who had already left, but Ms. Joke called after him one last time.
"What's the emergency, anyway?"
He loomed back at her. "A student's file was stolen. It contained several important pieces of information"
"We have grounds to believe that a student's family may be in danger!"
After hearing how grave the situation may be, Ms Joke made no further attempts to stop him from leaving.
Izuku and Ochaco readied themselves for their next battle, against each other. Both were gunning for first place, and neither was ready to back down.
Shota and Hizashi raced down the road. They didn't know how much time they had, but they had to make the most of it.
Inko Midoriya was preparing two cups of tea. It had been a while since she had had a friend over. Her son's status tended to push people away, both from him… and from her.
So she was surprised when Mitsuki asked to come over so that they could watch the festival together. They used to be good friends, but the behavior of Katsuki, and his treatment of Izuku had pushed them apart, unfortunately. So, with both of them out of the house, it was a good opportunity to reconnect!
The last few hours had been fun. Even dealing with Mitsuki's rage when her son had lost was nostalgic. And seeing her own son accomplish so much! He had grown so much in these last two years. She was proud, but a part of her missed the small boy that he used to be.
She finished pouring the cups and brought them down to where Mitsuki sat in front of the TV. They were about to start drinking when the doorbell rang.
Mitsuki stood up to get it, but Inko ushered her to sit back down, and went to get it herself.
She opened the door, and standing outside it was a man in a cloak. She couldn't see much, but upon closer inspection, he seemed young, about 18 years old. His skin was pale, and his body was lanky.
"I'm sorry" Inko said, greeting the young man. "Who might you be?"
He smiled, a clear attempt to come across as gentle, but it seemed more creepy than anything. The way his skin stretched to form what should be a normal human expression, it seemed unnatural.
"I'm a friend of your son! Could I come in? I have so much to talk to you about!"
