As Echo Six sprinted through the desolate streets of Raccoon City, the loud explosion in the distance echoed through the city, making them halt abruptly. The towering smoke billowing in the sky caught their immediate attention. Dee-Ay's sharp eyes narrowed as he took in the scene.
"What the hell could've caused that?" Tweed muttered, gripping her weapon tightly.
Harley cracked a grin. "Maybe it's those Umbrella freaks blowing each other up."
Party Girl, however, felt a pit in her stomach. "I just hope Ash is alright…"
Dee-Ay, sensing the urgency, barked out orders. "We need to check it out. Let's move!" The squad quickly regrouped and dashed toward the source of the explosion.
Back at the pharmacy, the aftermath of the intense battle left the building crumbling. Underneath a pile of rubble lay the motionless Tyrant, its once-imposing figure now reduced to a defeated heap. Ash stood amidst the destruction, his red eyes glowing with a predatory satisfaction. A smirk curled across his lips as he observed his own handiwork, the immense power surging within him thanks to the T-virus coursing through his veins.
Behind him, shivering and terrified, Team Rocket huddled together, completely rattled by what they had just witnessed. The familiar twerp they once thought they knew was now something far more dangerous, far more unpredictable. Jessie, James, and Meowth exchanged uneasy glances, their expressions reflecting the sheer shock of Ash's transformation.
"W-what is up with the twerp?!" James stammered, his voice shaking.
Jessie could only shake her head, eyes wide. "I don't know, but this is way out of our league!"
Meowth, trembling beside them, whispered, "I've nevah seen him like this before. That ain't our usual twerp!"
While Team Rocket remained in stunned silence, Ash's Pokémon—Pikachu, Lucario, and Gengar—stood a few feet away, watching their Trainer with deep concern. Pikachu's ears drooped, eyes filled with worry. Lucario sensed the chaotic aura surrounding Ash, understanding that something had drastically changed. Gengar, normally playful, floated uneasily, unsure of what to do.
Pikachu approached cautiously, trying to reach out to the Ash they knew. "Pika-pi?" it called softly, hoping to find a trace of its old friend in those glowing red eyes.
Ash glanced down at Pikachu, his expression softening momentarily as if he recognized his loyal partner. But soon Ash crumbled to his knees, his entire body convulsed in pain. The veins on his face and arms pulsed with the T-virus, spreading through him like wildfire. His eyes, glowing an eerie red, began to flicker as if battling against the infection. He gritted his teeth and let out a groan before collapsing, his body going limp.
Pikachu rushed to his side, calling out, "Pika-pi!" in desperation, nudging Ash with its small paws. But Ash wasn't responding, his breathing shallow and irregular. Pikachu's ears drooped, its eyes filled with fear and uncertainty. Lucario and Gengar hovered nearby, equally as concerned, unsure how to help their Trainer.
Team Rocket stood in the background, watching with a mix of fear and confusion. James, biting his lip, finally broke the silence. "We can't just leave him like this! The twerp needs help, or he's going to—"
Jessie, her arms crossed, shook her head in frustration. "Help? In this hellhole? Who exactly do you think we can find in a city full of ghouls, monsters, and whatever else is out there? You're crazy, James!"
James clenched his fists. "We have to try! He's saved us more times than we can count, Jessie. We owe him at least this much!" His voice was firm.
Meowth stepped forward. "I'm goin' with ya, James. It's the least we can do for the kid."
Jessie rolled her eyes and sighed loudly, but deep down, she knew they were right. "Fine," she muttered, throwing her hands up in frustration. "I'll stay here and watch over him. But you two better come back quick—and make sure that big weirdo in the raincoat stays down while you're gone."
With that, James and Meowth nodded in determination and quickly slipped out of the building, their hearts racing as they disappeared into the eerie streets of Raccoon City in search of help. Jessie remained behind, pacing nervously near Ash's unconscious body, glancing now and then at the rubble where the Tyrant lay, hoping it wouldn't wake up.
Meanwhile, Goh and Cinderace carefully navigated through the narrow streets of Raccoon City, constantly on alert for any signs of the infected. The distant explosions and commotion from earlier weighed heavily on their minds, but they had no time to investigate, as staying alive was their top priority.
"What do you think caused that?" Goh asked Cinderace, who looked just as puzzled.
Before they could come up with an answer, a voice from behind startled them. "Hey! You there!"
Goh and Cinderace spun around quickly, their hearts pounding as they came face to face with two armed individuals—a man with a gruff expression and a woman with fiery determination in her eyes. Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield stood before them, weapons at the ready.
Leon's eyes narrowed as he glanced at Cinderace. "What the hell is that? Another one of Umbrella's experiments?"
Cinderace raised its fists defensively, clearly offended by the accusation. Goh, equally baffled, had no idea what Leon was talking about. "W-what? No, Cinderace is my partner. We're not with Umbrella—whoever they are."
Leon's grip on his gun tightened as he took a cautious step forward. "Then who are you? What's your business here?" His voice was firm, and it was clear he wasn't playing around.
Goh tensed up, unsure whether to trust these strangers. He exchanged a quick glance with Cinderace, who nodded at him, ready to protect its Trainer at a moment's notice. "I… I don't know how I got here," Goh replied with hesitation. "I'm just looking for my friend. We didn't mean to come here, and I don't even know the name of this city or what's going on."
Leon and Claire exchanged a look, both of them surprised by Goh's answer. After a tense pause, Claire lowered her gun slightly and stepped forward, her expression softening. "Listen, we don't want to hurt you. We're just trying to survive. But this place… this city… it's dangerous. Trust us, you don't want to be here."
Goh slowly nodded. "Then tell me… where are we?"
Claire hesitated, looking at Leon, who gave a subtle nod. "You're in Raccoon City. And everything that's happening—it's because of Umbrella, a pharmaceutical company that created a virus that's turning people into monsters. The city's under quarantine. No one is getting in or out."
Goh's eyes widened in disbelief as Claire's words sank in. "A virus…?" he muttered, thinking back to the infected he had seen earlier. He couldn't believe such a thing could happen.
Leon spoke up firmly. "If you're looking for your friend, you need to be careful. This place is crawling with infected, and worse. You should stick with us. It's safer if we work together."
Goh hesitated for a moment but realized that he had little choice. He didn't know this city, and these two seemed to know what they were doing. "Alright," Goh finally said, nodding. "I'll trust you. But we have to find my friend, Ash."
Leon and Claire exchanged another glance, this time with a hint of concern in their eyes. "We'll do what we can," Claire assured. "But we need to keep moving before more infected show up."
With that, Goh and Cinderace joined Leon and Claire, and together, they set off through the dangerous streets of Raccoon City, hoping to find Ash.
As Goh, Cinderace, Leon, and Claire approached the towering facade of the Raccoon City Police Department (RPD), the eerie silence hung heavy in the air. The station looked imposing but strangely deserted. Goh frowned and glanced over at Leon, puzzled by their destination. "Why are we here? Shouldn't we be looking for Ash out in the city?" he asked.
Leon turned to Goh. "If your friend is trying to stay away from the infected, the police station would've been a logical place to go. It's built to withstand emergencies and could be the safest place left in the city. If he made it here, he'd have better odds of surviving."
Goh considered this and, while it still felt like a long shot, he knew Leon had more experience in these kinds of situations. "I hope you're right," Goh muttered. He looked at Cinderace, who seemed just as uneasy about the situation.
When they reached the entrance, Leon's face tensed. He immediately noticed something was off—the front door was slightly ajar. He stopped the group in their tracks, his hand going to his gun. "That's not right… The door shouldn't be unlocked," Leon said in a low, cautious voice. Claire exchanged a wary glance with him, and they both instantly knew this wasn't a good sign.
"Could it be more of those infected?" Goh asked, tightening his grip on Cinderace's shoulder for reassurance.
"Maybe," Claire whispered, pulling her own weapon out. "But we won't know for sure until we check it out. Stay close to us, okay?"
Leon nodded to the group, signaling for them to move quietly. He pushed the door open with his foot, the creaking sound echoing through the station's eerily quiet lobby. The once-bustling police department was now deserted, papers and debris scattered across the floor. The flickering fluorescent lights added to the unsettling atmosphere. As they stepped inside, Leon raised his gun, scanning every corner of the lobby. Claire took position behind him, watching their backs, while Goh and Cinderace stayed in the middle, their eyes wide, taking in the scene. The stillness of the room made Goh's heart race.
"Stay together," Leon whispered. "We don't know what's waiting for us in here."
They moved slowly through the main hall, their footsteps echoing in the vast, dimly lit space. A faint dripping sound in the distance was the only thing breaking the silence. The tension was thick, and even Cinderace's usually confident demeanor seemed more cautious than ever. Suddenly, a loud crash echoed from deeper within the station, causing everyone to stop in their tracks. Claire immediately raised her gun, her eyes scanning the darkness ahead. "What the hell was that?" she hissed.
Leon motioned for everyone to stay put. "It could be anything—stay sharp," he whispered as he cautiously approached the source of the sound. He peeked around a corner, finding nothing but an overturned shelf. A deep sense of unease gnawed at him.
Goh swallowed nervously. "You think Ash could be in here?"
Leon turned back to Goh. "Maybe. But whatever's in here with us… we're not alone."
James and Meowth ran frantically through the desolate streets of Raccoon City, narrowly avoiding the grasp of the infected horde chasing them. James, panting heavily, glanced over at Meowth, who was scurrying alongside him.
"This was your idea, James!" Meowth yelled in frustration, barely dodging a lurching zombie. "Now we're stuck in this mess!"
Before James could defend himself, a series of gunshots rang out. The infected pursuing them fell one by one as Echo Six appeared, expertly gunning down the horde. James and Meowth skidded to a halt, breathing heavily as they took in their unexpected saviors.
James opened his mouth to speak but hesitated, while Meowth, as usual, was quick to complain. "Whew, saved by the bell! 'Bout time, too!" he muttered, catching his breath.
Echo Six, however, was more stunned by the sight of Meowth—specifically, the fact that he was talking. Harley and Tweed exchanged bewildered glances, clearly unsettled by the idea of a talking cat.
"Did that thing just… speak?" Harley asked with wide eyes in surprise.
Tweed, frowning, pointed her gun at Meowth. "What the hell is going on here?"
Ignoring the baffled soldiers, Meowth brushed off the situation. "No time for explanations, we gotta go back! The twerp's in trouble!"
James, finally gathering himself, nodded in agreement. "We need help! The boy we're with—he's not doing well."
Dee-Ay, still reeling from the absurdity of the situation, demanded clarification. "What boy? This better not be a trap."
Meowth intervened, impatiently waving his arms. "The twerp! Ya know, the kid with the yellow mouse!" He said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
That's when Party Girl's eyes widened. "Wait, the boy with the yellow mouse? You mean Ash?!"
James and Meowth flinched at her intense reaction, while the rest of Echo Six stared at the pair with newfound urgency.
Tweed, however, wasn't in the mood for more confusion. She stepped forward, her eyes narrowing at the talking cat. "Enough messing around! If this 'twerp' is Ash, you'd better take us to him, now. No more games."
The sternness in her voice sent a shiver through James and Meowth, who were now realizing the seriousness of the situation. They nodded rapidly, not wanting to get on Echo Six's bad side.
"O-Okay! This way! Follow us!" James stammered.
