Catching up with family
Humphreys POV:
I continued to walk to my parent's den after my little anger issue, which left a crying Kate behind. How dare she try and make me think she actually cared about me when all she did was feel guilty for what she did to me back at the moonlight howl. It was these actions that made me sick and then she had the nerve to ask what was more important than catching up and that was the straw that broke the horses back because my daughter was the most important thing to me in my life. I decided to shake my anger off before I introduce my parents to Bella so they don't wonder why I'm so angry. I gently placed Bella down and shook my head a bit to clear it before Bella asked. "Daddy where are we going?" I smiled at her and said. "Well earlier today I ran into an old friend from my old pack and he took me to see my parents which is where we're going right now." Her expression turned from one of confusion to one of excitement as she squealed. "I get to meet my grandparents?" I smiled at her cuteness before saying. "Yes you do my little princess now come on it's still a bit of a walk to their den so how's about I sing a little song to pass the time?" She responded with an excited. "YEAH!" I shook my head at her before I opened up my mouth and began to sing before getting lost in the rhythm of the song.
Tell everybody I'm on my way
New friends and new places to see
With blue skies ahead, yes I'm on my way
And there's nowhere else I'd rather be
Tell everybody I'm on my way
And I'm loving every step i take
With the sun beating down, yes I'm on my way
And I can't keep this smile off my face
Cause there's nothing like, seeing each other again
No matter what the distance between
And the stories we tell, will make you smile
Or really lifts my heart
So tell'em I'm on my way
New friends and new places to see
And to sleep under the stars and could ask for more
With the moon keeping watch over me
Not the snow nor the rain, can change my mind
The sun will come out, wait and see
And the feeling of the wind
In your face can lift your heart
Oh... there's nowhere I'd rather be
Cause I'm on my way now
Well and true
I'm my way there
I'm on my way now
Tell everybody I'm on my way
I just can't wait to be there
With blue skies ahead, yes I'm on my way
And nothing but good times to share
So tell everybody I'm on my way
And I just can't wait to be home
With the sun beating down yes I'm on my way
And nothing but good times to show
I'm on my way
Yes, I'm on my way
(On my way by Phil Collins)
When I finished the song I saw that we had arrived at the edge of my parents packs territory. I smiled and said. "We're here." I then looked at Bella and asked. "You ready to meet your grandparents?" She gave a nervous nod which made me chuckle before I picked her up by the scruff of her neck and began heading to my parents den. As we walked I got the same reaction I did when I entered the territory before so the girls were still giving me lustful looks, blowing me kisses and one even said. "Come by my den tonight handsome and I'll show you a good time." I blushed at that one before Bella asked. "What does that lady mean by a good time daddy?" I told her through a muffled mouth. "I'll tell you when you're older." She let out a huff at this to which I just rolled my eyes. We continued our walk for five more minutes until we finally made it to my parent's den and I couldn't be happier to get away from the rest of my parents pack. I never knew being hit on by plenty of beautiful girls could be so disturbing.
I walked into my den and found my parents talking but the second they laid eyes on me they stopped and began walking towards me with smiles. I gently put Bella down before she hid behind my legs as I said. "Hey mom, dad." They both greeted me before I took a step back leaving my little girl in the open as I said. "Well I know you two have been wanting to meet her so here is my daughter Bella." They looked down at her before my mom smiled and leaned down to her eye level as she said. "Well hello Bella I'm your grandma Anna and I look forward to getting to know you better." Bella smiled at this before dad said. "Well why don't we get out of here and have some fun?" Bella let out an excited Yeah before we left the den to play.
1 hour later
I was having a great time with my parents and daughter. Bella and my mother were getting along great and were currently playing a game of tag while me and my dad were sitting on the sidelines just chatting man to man when things took a turn for the worst as he asked me a question I was hoping he wouldn't. He asked. "So son is there a special lady in your life me and your mother should know about?" I replied with a quick. "No!" He chuckled and said. "Just like your mother your left eye twitches when you're trying to hide something from me." I sighed and said. "Well there is this girl named Kate but my feeling towards her are anything but loving." He sighed and asked. "What did this girl do?" I replied by telling him what Kate did to me. When I finished he let out a sigh before saying. "Son there are times when a wolf has to forgive another for a better future or it will become an obstacle on the road we all call life." I sighed in annoyance knowing he was right so I said. "I guess you're right. I'll talk to her tomorrow." I then heard a voice say. "You're not going to live that long." I recognized the voice as Eve and knowing her she was about to pounce on me so I quickly ducked as she flew over my head. I chuckled and said. "You're going to have to do better than that Eve and may I ask why you're trying to kill me this lovely day." She growled. "You made my daughter cry." She tried to pin me again but once again I dodged her as I said. "She had it coming when she said spending time with her for old time sake was more important then my daughters wellbeing and spending time with my parents who I haven't seen since I was a pup." Eve then paused before letting out a sigh and said. "Well alright I understand I guess if I was in your place I'd do the same." It was then my mom walked up with Bella and a curious look on her face before looking at Eve and asked. "Eve is that you?" Eve gave my mother a strange look before asking. "Anna?" The look on her face quickly changed to one of delight before they hugged and went on about how wonderful it was to see each other again. While this was happening I asked dad. "Do you have any idea how they know each other?" He replied. "Yeah our pack used to do business with each other back when me and your mother were pups so Eve and your mother met and became best friends but when our packs food ran out we had to move away." Once dad told me this mom asked Eve. "So is there a reason you're trying to kill my son?" Eve got a shocked look on her face before saying. "Humphrey's your son! I knew he reminded me of someone. Anyway the reason I was trying to kill him is because he made my daughter Kate cry but after hearing why he did it I understand why so I forgave him. Anyway you and your family must join me and my family for dinner tonight." Mom much to my horror accepted it before Eve walked away. When she looked at me I was about to say something but she gave me a glare that clearly said. 'We're going to that dinner whether you like it or not.' From past experiences I knew there was no going against the mom glare so I sighed and let up knowing that for me there was no winning this battle.
AN: Hey guys sorry about taking so long to post a new chapter but I'm in college now so my studies come first and I rarely get time to write now but I'll write and post a new chapter when the inspiration for the new chapter hits me.
