Girl problems

Humphreys POV:

I woke up like I did every morning with Bella cuddled up to my side snuggling her teddy bear and as always, I wish I didn't have to wake her up since it was just so adorable. Sadly, however I couldn't let her spend the entire day sleeping or else she'd have missed a whole day of opportunities for her like a chance to possibly make new friends or have a fun time on this lovely sun lit day. I hesitantly nudged her with my muzzle as I gently said. "Bella! Time to get up pumpkin." As usual she let out the cutest little yawn as she slowly opened her eyes and looked up at me with her precious little smile. It was times like these I wish she'd never grow up and stay my little girl forever but that couldn't happen so I have to enjoy the time I have with her as a pup while I can. After that I went and got us a breakfast of two rabbits but as we ate I couldn't shake the feeling that today was going to be rather difficult for some reason. I eventually shook the worry off since I had to drop Bella off for a playdate at Hutch's place and I didn't want to be late. Once breakfast was done we began our walk to Hutch's den for the playdate.

As we walked I noticed that a lot of the females were giving me heated looks which were making me feel a little uncomfortable but fortunately Bella didn't notice. I also saw that whenever one of them was about to approach me they took one look at Bella and backed away but kept giving me the looks meaning whatever they were planning they didn't want to do in front of Bella. I don't know why but it gave me a bad feeling in my gut which means I'll probably have to deal with a big problem as soon as I leave Bella for her playdate. I was hoping this feeling was wrong so I would be worrying for nothing but I'd only find out after I dropped Bella off.

When we arrived at the den Hutch was waiting outside for us and when he saw us he smiled before approaching us and saying. "Welcome to my den you two." I smiled at him and said. "Thanks Hutch." He gave me a nod before turning to Bella and saying. "Why don't you head inside. I know Fiona has been looking forward to seeing you today." She gave him a cute little smile before running in and giving me a quick goodbye. I chuckled and mumbled. "Pups!" Before turning my attention to Hutch and said. "I'll be back to pick her up this evening okay?" He nodded and said. "Sure, Humphrey and before I forget good luck." I looked at him confused before asking. "Good luck with what?" He looked at me shocked and asked. "Don't you know what's coming up in just a month?" I quirked my head to the side and said. "No! What's happening?" He frowned and said. "The time of year nearly every single male fears. The time of year when females go into heat and will do anything to ease their heat." I felt my eyes widen in both shock and horror as I remembered my first and last heat season back in Jasper. I was running from female Omega's every half hour for a month. It was then Hutch said. "Chances are you're going to be running all day every day during the heat season." I looked at him confused before asking. "Why me?" He simply chuckled and asked. "Have you looked at yourself? You're the best-looking male in Sawtooth according to all the single females and from what I've heard they all want a piece of you during heat season." Before giving me one last good luck and retreating into his den. As he reentered his den it slowly dawned on me that the reason all those girls were looking at me and didn't come near me when Bella was with me. They didn't want to say anything inappropriate in front of a pup but now that Bella wasn't with me it meant they wouldn't hesitate to come near me. I shook my head in annoyance and said. "Getting home is going to be rough." Before I began my long walk home.

4 hours later

As expected it took me far longer to get home then it would normally take because of one thing. All the single females in the pack. Everywhere I went I'd be stopped by a female wanting to talk to me or should I say flirt with me. Every time I took a single step it seemed a female would come up to me saying she wanted to talk to me when she just flirted with me saying how handsome I was and how she'd love to join me on a hunt for a dinner we could enjoy alone together and how their friend wouldn't mind pup sitting Bella for me while we enjoyed some alone time together but I knew what they meant when they said alone time and I was not interested at the moment. The worst ones however were the ones trying to get to me through Bella by walking next to me and saying how difficult it must be for me to be a single father while keeping up with my duties, how they would say how other wolves would tell them what good mothers they'd make or how they've always pictured their lives with a sweet little pup like my Bella for a daughter and a big strong mate like me by their sides. Eventually I had to continuously jump from behind every tree, hide under every hollow log, jump into every patch of tall grass and duck under every rock just so I could get home without being bothered by a female.

When I finally reached my den, I could not be happier that was until I got a whiff of someone in my den. I immediately lowered myself to the ground as if I was hunting and crawled to the entrance to see if I could see who had entered. As I approached the scent became more recognizable as that of a female which was not a good sign for me as I got to the entrance I saw a dark brown wolf with lighter colored under belly looking around my den smiling and muttering to herself. As I got closer I was able to make out that she was saying. "Very nice indeed I should be quite comfortable here." It was then I stood up and said. "You might want to talk to the owner first." I saw her jump slightly before turning around to look at me but her face turned from one of surprise to one of flirtation. She then turned fully around giving me a full view of her and I have to admit she was gorgeous. She had a sleek figure with hazel brown eyes and a gentle flowing brown mane. It was then she approached me and said. "Sorry I was unaware this was your den." Before she began circling me as I said. "Well it is and I would appreciate it if you would leave." She gave me a cute pout before saying. "Oh, do I have to? I was hoping to get to know the son of Anna and Jake." This peeked my interest before I asked. "You're from my parent's pack?" She simply continued to circle me and gave a slight nod as she ran her tail under my chin giving me a waft of her scent which was mixed with her heat which sent me into a slight daze before she said. "My name is Angela by the way Humphrey." I nodded hazily as she continued to circle me while I just sat there in a dazed state as she said. "I've really been wanting to meet you Humphrey after I saw you walking through the packs new territory." As she passed by my front again she gave me a look at her intimate area which made me very nervous as she continued. "You know Humphrey this is an awfully big den for just one fully grown male a pup?" This confused me but at the moment I was too nervous to do anything except listen to her speak. She then continued with. "That little pup of yours shouldn't grow up without a mother figure in her life and this den is big enough to house at least three other wolves." It was then she stopped and leaned in to whisper in my ear. "I wouldn't mind being one of the wolves to move in here with you." Before giving me a gentle lick on the cheek leaving me stammering.

I was then brought out of my daze when Kate walked in and glared at Angela asking. "Who are you? You're not from our pack." Angela just huffed and said. "No, I'm from the neighboring pack. You know the one that is ruled by Humphreys parents?" Kate looked taken back by this before she glared and growled saying. "Well you can't be here without permission from my parents and they never said anything about visitors so your trespassing." She sighed and looked down before saying. "Okay I'll leave." Before she walked up to my side and gave me another lick on the cheek before saying in a flirtatious voice. "Bye Humphrey." Before walking out while showing me a good view of her intimate area. I shook my head before turning to Kate and said. "Sorry about that. Heat season came early for my parents pack so you can guess what that was about. Now what are you doing here?" She looked down and said. "I wanted to apologize. Your father pointed out that I was trying to earn back your affection before repairing the damage I'd done." I nodded before saying. "Yeah the only thing you did was apologies and we both know it's going to take a lot more than that to repair the damage." She nodded before looking up at me and saying. "I'll try to make it up to you before anything else from now on." I nodded at her before she said she'd leave me be since I'd probably want to be left alone after what happened with that Angela girl. After she left it was just me and my thoughts about these girl troubles.

AN: Hope you all enjoyed the chapter because I'm still pushing it out as much as I can and don't worry Angela won't get Humphrey just wanted to put in some drama. So, I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you next time.
