Izuku awoke to a cuddle bug named Himiko lying in a medical bed beside him, and his mother was holding his hand. He wrapped his arms around Himiko, who smiled and snuggled even closer if possible.
"Hi, Mom," he said with a smile.
"Hello, mister," Inko said warmly. "How are you feeling?"
"Starving," Izuku said.
"We grabbed you snacks on our way over," Himiko muttered. "I didn't even get hurt during my first heroics class."
"No, but you put your opponent in the medical wing," Izuku said.
"I stand by my statement," Himiko said, squeezing him before she sat up. "Ok, I love you both; I will see you tomorrow."
"Overnight?" Izuku said.
Himiko nodded, "Ms. Joke and I are working with Eraser Head tonight. I have to make a good impression; she has been hyping me up. She told me to remind you about your picnic on Saturday, Mom."
"I won't forget," Inko said. "Tell her I can hardly wait." Once Himiko was gone. "Ok, mister, you have been cleared to leave, so get changed and get your snacks. We have shopping to do."
"But Mom, I almost died," Izuku whined.
"Well, you should have died if you wanted to get out shopping now, chop, chop," Inko said, smiling.
Izuku groaned as he was dragged to the mall. It wasn't all that bad, but his mother was making a big fuss over his clothes for the weekend. But he managed to talk her into a few more novelty shirts, so it was worth it. After his haircut, she took him to Troy's, where they had the best garden burger and zucchini fries. Inko waited until dinner, their norm, to ask him about what had happened that day.
"Well, it was a good thing you were there," Inko said at the end of his story. "If this Neito boy had copied your quirk before the test and used it, this Setsuna and whomever her partner was may have been killed."
"I didn't think about that," Izuku said.
"So, who do you think this mystery girl Setsuna was talking about is?" Inko said, leaning on her hand.
"I have no idea," Izuku responded. "They are all pretty cute, to be honest. Some are shy, so that it may be one of them; Yui can shrink things, and Kinoko likes mushrooms. I don't think it is Ibarra, but maybe Itsuka or Momo; she is good friends with Set, so I can see Set being her wingwoman. Then there is Pony, and she is cool."
"I would tease you about knowing all their names, but I bet you know your entire class," Inko smiled. "What about this girl you are going on a date with?"
"I don't think it is a date, date, but she is cute, and she has a nice personality that I know of. We have mainly texted, but I think it is a friend thing and probably a thank you from the entrance exam," Izuku said.
"Oh, that does make sense," Inko said.
Somewhere, Himiko started to get a headache.
Inko
"Well, hello, David," Inko purred, answering the phone. "How are you doing? It has been far too long, and I was beginning to think you had forgotten about me. Oh, you flatterer you. Let me check my calendar. No, next weekend sounds wonderful, are you going to bring your daughter? I can't wait to see Melissa again. How old is she now? They grow up fast; she is the same age as my Himi. I can't wait. I would love to have dinner, maybe we can go dancing. We can have Melissa spend the night with Himiko, and Melissa can share her room; they had such a wonderful time together last time. I know they have stayed in touch, and we can go out late and see where the evening takes us. See you next week, David; I can hardly wait."
Morning Detention
Izuku was thankful that his mother was going in early so he didn't have to take the train in, though he wondered why he had donuts and drinks. The backseat had dozens of boxes for the precinct, explaining the situation, but Izuku was too tired to understand it all. He arrived at school and made his way to the class. He set the boxes at the front of the table, grabbed his favorite chocolate bar and a coffee, and took his seat.
Set opened the door and nearly made some noise unbecoming of a lady as she saw Izuku sitting at his desk, eating a donut and drinking something. She looked and saw him wearing clothes. She looked down and was wearing clothes; she almost wanted to check if she was wearing underwear, but if this was real, she wasn't sure she wanted to flash him her lucky T-Rex underwear. Unless he asked, but then again, if he asked, then she would be naked. How do we approach this situation? If this was real life, how would she figure it out?
"Good Morning, Izuku," Momo said, stepping past Set. Set noticed Momo wasn't naked, so this wasn't a weird dream. "I thought they may have commuted your detention with the incident during training yesterday."
"I didn't ask, so I didn't want to take the risk," Izuku said with a smile. "Good Morning, Momo; Good Morning, Set; I brought doughnuts and drinks. I had no idea what you would like, so there is hot chocolate, green tea, black tea, and coffee."
"That was very kind of you, Izuku," Momo said. "But before anything else, how are you feeling?"
"Good," Izuku said. "Tired, but that is from being up early."
"That is good to hear; I want to thank you," Momo bowed to him. "if it wasn't for your quick thinking and your ability with your quirk, then I fear that Setsuna may have been seriously injured or even killed."
That snapped Setsuna back, "Yes, Izuku, thank you so much; I didn't get to tell you that after we were rescued."
"No problem, we had to survive, so you tell that guy how you feel," Izuku said, getting up. Momo just smiled; Set had told her all about the conversation she had under the rubble. "So, if you two want to grab a doughnut and drink, just tell me what we must do?"
"I have never had a doughnut," Momo said with a smile as she looked at the box. "Set, why don't you go with Izuku to get the medical kits? I will pick up the packets for class; then, we can meet back in the class to enjoy our doughnuts and drinks."
Set could kiss Momo, "Follow me, Izuku," Set said. When they were in the hall, Set looked at Izuku shyly. "Thank you for saving my life," she said.
Izuku blushed. How she looked at him, the faint blush on her cheeks and her hair hung down slightly obscured her eyes. Holy Hell, she looks cute, he thought. "You don't have to thank me, but I understand what you mean. Despite the nearly being crushed part, it was nice to get to know you, Set," Izuku said.
Set giggled, her hand by mouth, "I have to agree; it was nice talking to you. We should do it again. Where can we find a building to drop on you?"
Izuku laughed, "Hey, how about we skip that part."
"Fine, I guess," Set rolled her eyes. "Let's do it the BORING way."
"Do you like Ice cream?" Izuku said.
"I love Ice cream," Set said. Now, Set was doing her best not to freak out; her heart was pounding. Was he about to ask her for ice cream, was he about to walk her home, maybe take her hand under the street light? The sun falling as she gets to her door. She opens the door and whispers goodbye, but their hands never separate. She goes to move away, but he pulls her into his arms. A whispered protest, but he silences it with his lips; she can't protest. She can do nothing but surrender as he pushes her inside. Candles light the house, and roses and petals keep their feet from touching the ground. He has taken them into her bedroom; she meekly protests as he tears open her shirt.
Back in the real world, Izuku saw Set's face suddenly go red; her breathing was rapid and shallow, noises that he had never heard a person or beast make, and he had seen an insane amount of animal documentaries. He didn't know he had moved, so he put his hand up to her and touched her forehead. His touch snapped, Set out of her fantasy, he was so close, she was staring intensely into her eyes; her entire body swooned, then the noise of half croak, half squeal, and she fainted. Izuku caught her in his arms as they sank to the floor. "Um, help," Izuku managed to say.
Izuku held Set, one arm around her back and the other supporting her head. Izuku was looking at her sleeping face; he brushed some hair that had fallen across her face. He could see the scale pattern of her skin and this shimmer as the light played off of it. It is so beautiful, he thought. He was lost in the moment briefly, but then he realized that he should get her some help and that she was already interested in someone else. She felt enough pressure without him adding it by following after her like a star-struck puppy; besides, she might have been sick from how strange she was acting. He had begun to move when he heard her groan. He turned his head back to her, and she was beet red. A nervous eep slipped from her lips, and her hands were in fists by her mouth.
"Izuku," she whispered; it was all in slow motion as her eyes had opened, his head in profile, the chiseled jawline, the light framing his head perfectly, making his hair glow with fire. The heat of his hand on the small of her back how radiated through her body, penetrating her core. It screamed that she was ready to be his, to bear his children. Then, the sudden shift of his body, the feeling of him about to take her in his arms, his head turned to her as she whispered the name of her adonis.
"Set," her adonis said, his deep voice reverberating through her, her heart thumping so hard against her chest, longing to be closer to him. "Are you alright? (My darling, my love, my Lizardy)" her brain may have added the last part.
"Yes, sorry, my sinuses just acted up," Set replied.
"I never knew sinuses could be that severe, but my sister gets intense headaches out of nowhere sometimes," Izuku replied. "Are you sure you are okay? Do I need to get Momo or take you to the nurse's office? (Or should it drag you where no one can hear us, so I bask in the glory of your body as I make you scream my name to the heavens)."
"No, I am fine, (Oh my Izuku)," she replied, "If you would help me up," Set nearly lost it again as he just stood up, his arm slipping under her knees in the briefest of bridal carries to him. Still, to her, she saw them emerging from the church, her wedding dress flowing behind her, and he carried her to the limo. Her feet being set on the ground did bring her back to the real world, and then suddenly, her brain screamed about how he was about to ask out for ice cream before she fainted.
"What were we talking about?" Set said super casual, NAILED IT; she fist pumped internally. "I was telling you I like ice cream."
"Oh yeah," Izuku replied. "I was going to say there is this little…"
"YES!" Set said, making him jump, Shit! "I mean, you were saying."
Wow, she must love ice cream, he thought. "There is this little local place I know of that is not far from the school, and they make these amazing seasonal flavors. Would you like to go with me today after school? I can maybe give you some advice about that boy you like?" he said, rubbing his head.
Set had one foot tucked behind the other as she tucked some of her hair behind her ear, "That sounds nice. The medical kits are in there. Would you excuse me for a moment? I need to step into the lady's room."
"Um, yeah, sure, no problem. I will get them set up and wait for you then," Izuku stepped inside the room. Set waited for the door to close, then ran like she was being chased by demons to the girls' restroom. She burst into a restroom, let out a yell of victory, and began to dance around, jumping up and down, her arms swinging above her head before making a circular motion before her; then, It was almost like she was running in place.
Our first girl will have to be named after Momo, she thought. "OH YEA, GO SET, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, UH HUH, UH HUH, GO SET, OH YEA, NAILED IT, NAILED IT!"
Set calmed herself down and looked in the mirror; she took a few deep breaths, "Okay, now just real him in," she applied fresh lip gloss, "Don't make him work too hard, but he has to chase a little bit at least. Oh yeah, Momma, you would be so proud of how smooth your girl was."
She smiled and skipped out, ready to rejoin her adonis. Midnight, startled by someone bursting into the bathroom, just shook her head. "Oh, to be that young again," she laughed.
She found Izuku with all the medical kits in a few duffle bags on the desk, the testing dummies, and the two defibrillators. His smile nearly blinded her or made her jump him. Her brain hadn't decided which, but his voice stopped all that. "I can get one of the duffles and testing dummies. Can you get the rest?"
"I can manage that," Set said as they returned to the classroom. Momo could tell that something good had happened by the smile that wouldn't fade from Set and the twinkle in her eye. They set the medical stuff in the corner of the room. Set picked out her doughnut and noticed the glazed strawberry filled; she did a little happy wiggle. Momo caught Izuku looking at Set's butt, she smirked. Momo had chosen the devil's food with chocolate icing; she LOVED chocolate, but the black tea to drink, Set had the hot chocolate. "Thanks for the treat," they said.
Momo put her hand to her cheek after her first bite, "Oh, these are so sinful," Momo gushed. "I can become addicted."
"That is my mom," Izuku laughed. "I always tease her about how she has all these empty coffee cups from doughnut shops, but she tells me it is the best place to find coffee at all hours."
"What is that your mother does?" Momo asked as she separated the papers so they could assemble the packets.
"She is a police detective, right?" Set said, grabbing the staplers. "What department?"
"Homicide, Super Hero Relations and Support," Izuku said.
"Oh my, that must be a very stressful job," Momo said.
"She never lets it show, but if it has been a hard day or case, she comes home and will check on my sister, and I just watch us sleep some before going to her room," Izuku said. "She gets to meet a lot of heroes, though, and work with a bunch to bad some of them are assholes."
"Oh my, Izuku," Momo said, a bit shocked.
"Why are they assholes?" Set said.
"Most heroes are decent to the police," Izuku said. "When you arrest the field, you normally are not the one who brings them in to be processed. You work with the local police, and they take the small fries into custody. For bigger ones, you need to contact SHRS, or when there has been a murder committed, the homicide division comes in to help assist; they are part of the team with the hero. It is not like the hero walks in, looks around, proclaims, "This was the work of my arch enemy Murder MAN!" and goes running off."
His exaggerated hero voice made the girls laugh, "Go on," Momo said as this was all new to her, the same as Set.
"Heroes are more there to stop crimes as they happen not to get into the dregs of a murder investigation; it takes a lot of time to interview the people and gather all the evidence. Unless some obvious things may point to something the hero has been working on for a bit and tracking, they don't have the time to do all the leg work. My mom does all that leg work; once they have the suspect, if they fall into the "Villain" category, they call the hero to help with the takedown. The good heroes credit the police and detectives that make it all possible the assholes take all the glory and treat the officers like trash."
"That makes sense," Momo said, pausing to bite her doughnut. "A hero is responsible for their patrol, so they can't spend all night at a single crime scene standing around."
"Unless their quirk can help with the investigation somehow, like Psychometry or something, but then it would be pretty easy for them to find out what is going on," Set added.
"The other thing is that all people see during a villain battle is the police holding people back; they don't see how the police went in during the beginning of the fight to get people to safety or evacuate the wounded. Or they were on the scene trying to hold the villain off until the hero arrived. The heroes that take all the credit or ignore all their hard work piss me off," Izuku said. "People who want to help keep society safe, but their quirks are not suited for heroics, or they cannot train them to make them stronger. A lot of them become police to do what they can."
"I never knew any of this," Momo said. "I knew that the police were an important part of the justice division, but all the nuances were lost to me."
"Has there been a hero that has taken all the credit for something your mom did?" Set said curiously. "Oh, sorry, you don't have to say anything. I didn't mean to pry."
"No, it's okay," Izuku leaned in. "You can't say anything but remember the Killer Frost case?"
"I remember," Set said with a shudder, "They were a major serial killer that was terrorizing the nation for over a year."
"They killed entire families," Momo said. "My parents added sensors to the area that would detect sudden drops in temperature during that time. She had struck some very high-profile families. It made a lot of people nervous. I remember that Endeavor was credited with her capture, but that is untrue."
"Right, so Endeavor catches the case; my mom never told me how," Izuku said, looking over his shoulder. "But it landed in my mother's lap, her first major case. So she starts investigating, but Endeavor shows up to all the murders and is very interested in any leads. He is hounding my mom and her partner, like every day he calls, yelling at them, telling them to work harder."
"My mom is working on the case; she is part of the task force because now Frost is nationwide. Everyone knows that Frost can't be working alone; my mom not only finds her accomplice but takes her down, brings her in, and gets her to roll over on Frost," Izuku said. "She follows protocol; Frost is a dangerous person; they track her down, call Endeavor, and that huge battle happens; my mom saves Endeavor and a couple of his sidekicks during the fight by her over using her quirk. Frost gets taken down, and Endeavor goes on the news and takes all the credit, never once thanking my Mom." Izuku takes a drink of his coffee. "Never thanks all the cops that put in all the work, and he does it all the time; he always treats the police poorly. All-Might is always thanking everyone who was involved."
"I am just one spoke in the wheel of justice; alone, I could not do anything," Set said, giving an impression of All-Might.
"I have heard him say that during almost every interview," Momo said, smiling.
"Mirko was pretty rough, but after she worked a case with my mom, she seemed to change her tune," Izuku said with a smile. "I have met her, Ms. Joke, Mt. Lady, Blazin, The Wild Pussycats, Gang Ocha, Edgeshot, Thirteen, Fourth Kind, Gunhead, Uwabami, Lady Speed, Miss, Ryukyu, Gust, and Chaos Twins."
"Wow, that is a lot of heroes," Momo said stunned. "And I noticed a lot of them are female? Do you find female heroes attractive?" Momo's eyebrow raised.
"I mean, they are very pretty," Izuku blushed, "but no, all those are heroes that my mom introduced to me; they all worked cases with her and were grateful that my mom helped them, so they took her to dinner and stuff. I met a bunch more, many lower ranks, from when my mom brought me to the station when I was little. The Desk Sargent was my best friend in the whole world when I was little, and his wife still makes the best vegetarian Miso soup I have ever had. Oh, their anniversary is coming, and I need to buy them a gift."
"That is interesting. Does your mom talk about cases with you a lot," Set asked as they finished the last packets.
"Nothing she is working on directly. She drills my sister and me on handling crime scenes, taking and making statements, and interrogating a criminal. She gives us a scenario, and we have to figure it out; it is cool," he said, smiling.
"I wouldn't mind talking to her about such things myself," Momo said. Set nodded in agreement. "What about your sister?"
"His sister goes to Ketsubutsu and is a third year studying to be a hero," Set said proudly. "One of the amazing facts I learned yesterday." Izuku smiled. Both girls noticed he had said nothing about his father, and they didn't want to ask, not wanting to bring up a bad memory.
"Does your sister have an animal quirk like yours?" Momo asked, setting the stack on Vlad's desk. She looked longingly at the doughnuts.
"You can help yourself to another," Izuku said. "They were baker's dozen, so there was still enough for Vlad and the rest of the class.
"Then I would be happy too," Momo's eyes lit up as she grabbed another interesting chocolate-looking one. "Oh my goodness, this one has chocolate cream filling; it's so delightful."
"I may have created a monster," Izuku said, leaning over and whispering to Set, getting a laugh. Izuku seemed to think of something and laugh.
"What is it," Set said as Momo sat back down.
"I was just thinking of what Momo asked my sister. She has these cat-like eyes, and my mom and I say she has part cat quirk, but no, she doesn't," Izuku said. "My sister is adopted; she has a blood quirk. Her birth parents treated her like crap, and my mom found her, got her help, and brought her to live with us."
"Her birth parents starved her of blood?" Momo asked. Izuku nodded. "I think her parents worked for my family," Izuku and Setsuna's eyes widened. "The wife worked with my mother, but I remember my mother being horrified when the police came and arrested her. When they found out that they were abusing their daughter for having a blood quirk, my parents were so angry."
"Why is that?" Set asked. "Besides the obvious."
"Part of the health insurance that our company offers is quirk counseling for employees and their families, as well as family counseling, quirk therapy; they found out that the mother kept moving her to different counselors and found one as part of our network that lied about the whole thing," Momo said. "My parents were distraught by this, hired another company to investigate all the quirk counselors that we did business with, revamped the entire process, and supported legislation making it so that quirk counselors had to report if someone was being denied a dietary need as a result of their quirk. I think it is coming up for a vote here soon. They also added a company-wide training course about understanding the different dietary needs brought on by quirks."
"My father's secretary, I believe, adopted one of the girls," Momo said. "I remember saying that the oldest daughter had been adopted by a police officer who blew the whole thing wide open. That was your mother."
"Small freaking world," Set said with a whistle.
The door opened, and Pony and Awase walked in. "Good Mornings" rang out, and Izuku told them to help themselves to a doughnut, which they did happily before they came to check on how Izuku felt after the battle trail. This happened with every student until the room was almost complete, and Neito entered his eyes, locking directly on Izuku. He nearly ran over to him and Setsuna.
"Are you alright?" Neito said. "I deeply apologize and beg your forgiveness." Neito bowed deeply, "You warned me, and I just thought I could handle it. I nearly killed you and Setsuna; I will never make such a mistake again. I am very sorry."
"Well, thank you for apologizing, Monoma," Setsuna said. "I know it was our first heroics class, but when you use other people's quirks, you need to be more careful; I mean, you turned into a blue whale in the middle of a building that is just plain reckless." Neito flinched. "Thankfully, nobody was killed, and I was only slightly injured compared to Izuku. If help hadn't arrived, things could have gone very differently. So keep that in mind."
"Listen, Neito, we are friends, but when someone warns you about their quirk, you must listen. Maybe we can talk to sensei about setting up some time during our training for you to train with other people's quirks, observe them, and see if there is something they don't do all the time," Izuku said. "I forgive you, but like Set noted, just be more careful going forward. While getting to know Setsuna better, I would have preferred not to do it while holding up a building."
Neito thanked them before he took his seat. It wasn't long after that the bell rang, and Vlad Sensei walked in.
"Good Morning, Class. Today, we are going to review the battle trials from yesterday. I want you all to take notes as we discuss them in detail. Your medical training is going to be this afternoon. Before we start, Momo and Setsuna, please stand up." The two girls did so, looking around a bit nervous. "Momo, you are the class president, Setsuna the vice; we will hold an election after the sports festival after you all get a chance to get to know each other better. You may sit down; now let's review tomorrow's details and our joint rescue training with 1-A at the Unforseen Simulation Joint or the USJ."
Lunch
So, at lunch, Setsuna may have vomited word about her date after school with Izuku to get ice cream. Tetsu, Itsuka, and Momo were very aware of their conversation while trapped under the rubble, though they had to question the narrator, what was said, and its meanings. This was all that, according to Setsuna, he had fallen for her down there, and when she confessed to him, the whirlwind would commence. It took her reciting the exact wording to Momo and Itsuka and cutting out the extras. Tetsu had gone cross-eyed on the second retelling.
So she candidly talked with Izuku and told him about herself, which he shared. He didn't have a girlfriend; he was dense in not seeing that Ochaco was trying to snatch him up, and even if Set confessed, she might have to throw herself at him in suggestive garb to make him catch on.
But the positive was that she had somewhat told him her feelings; he seemed to enjoy talking to her and was open to going on a date with the mystery girl who liked him. He didn't even ask questions about beauty or anything, so he didn't seem hung up on looks.
And somehow, she had talked her way into an Ice Cream date after school. That was very dubious of how easy and romantic it had transpired, but they couldn't corner Izuku and demand he tell them. They didn't believe Set's claims of calm and smooth, not for one damn moment.
"I was thinking that tomorrow after rescue training, he will be in costume so he can change without exposing himself," Set flushed, her mind tackled her subconscious and hogtied it so it wouldn't with the image of Izuku nude. "He turns into the baby dinosaur, and I confess right then and there, and on the way back, we can plan the date that he promised, and by Monday, we will be together."
"You confessed before the other girl, and he said already that he wanted to get to know her better," Momo rubbed her chin. "And you have a mini date planned for today to get ice cream. This may work."
"It has a much better chance than she had before they nearly died," Itsuka sighed.
"Sounds way too complicated to me," Tetsu said. "What if he agreed because he thinks you are bringing him Momo or Itsuka." Set pouted.
"I am already spoken for it, as is Itsuka," Momo said innocently; Tetsu and Itsuka froze. "After my mother caught us in such a compromising position last night, Itsuka is bound by honor to make an honest woman of me now."
Itsuka sputtered, Tetsu went red, and Set looked at Itsuka, shaking her head. "Oh, Itsu," Set said.
"Compromising positions?" Itsuka sputtered out.
"The way you had my arm nestled between your blossom, locking your thighs around my head," Momo placed her hand on her cheek. "Then she made me do the same to her," she pleaded to Set.
"How scandalous," Set said, wrapping her arms around Momo. "Then what happened."
"Well, we were so hot and sweaty, she invited me to bathe right in front of my mother," Momo dapped at the tears that were not there. "I was in such shock that I didn't know what to do; next thing I knew, we were in the bath, and she…and she…was touching me." Momo fell into Set's arms. Ibarra fainted, and Kinoko caught her. Pony and Yui's forks were still in mid-movement toward their mouth.
Tetsu was swaying in his seat as Itsuka was beet red, "We were sparring, and your mother told us to shower before dinner…and you asked me if I would wash your back!"
"Is that what happened," Momo said dramatically.
"Yes, that is exactly what happened," Itsuka affirmed.
"Oh well, I like my story so much better," Momo said, smiling.
"Oh, you are so darn lucky we are not sparring tonight," Itsuka glared at her.
"I wish we were to have you so close again," Momo said quickly; steam may have escaped Itsuka's head. "I am sorry for teasing you, Itsuka," Momo said, hugging her friend.
"How did Setsuna corrupt you so quickly?" Itsuka said, hugging her back. "I know my divine mission now; I must beat it out of you."
Set was laughing as the rest of the table resumed their normal activities; she looked at her adonis; she was glad he was sitting at his usual table and talking with everyone like he hadn't had a building dropped on him. They did send in Tetsu to hear him say that he and Set just spoke, that talking to her was a distraction to not think about everything else and that it was a lot of fun, all things considered. The laughter from their table pulled their attention. They were all looking at Neito, who was beet red. What they had missed…
"So what was the worst part of yesterday then," Sen said, smirking.
"Seeing Neito's dick," Izuku said. "Special underwear, my friend; I warned you."
"Did everyone see it?" Neito said, his head falling on the table.
"Not initially," Niren said, trying to comfort Neito.
"But when you got tackled out the window, we saw it all," Togaru said; Neito groaned. "Lilly white ass cheeks, balls, and dick flapping in the wind as you fell. You owe Sen fucking big time for tackling you out of the room all butt-ass naked. I would have kicked you out of the building, but man."
"Oh god," Neito said, his face turning red.
"Oh god, you," Sen said. "You were unconscious for the whole thing. I was the one cuddling the naked guy!"
"OH GOD!" Neito said as the image they provided flashed through his head.
"I think most of the girls saw it as well," Jurota said. "I know that Kinoko and Reiko did, as well as Ibarra she fainted. When she came through, she wondered if the two of you had to be married immediately."
"OH GOD!" Neito banged his head. He thought that was why the girls weren't making eye contact with him.
"The only ones I think that didn't were Momo and Itsuka. They were out that door just behind All-Might before we even knew what was happening," Kosei said, trying to give him some relief.
"Yo, Hiryu, did Pony see Neito's bits yesterday," Awase called.
Hiryu grimaced as Neito looked at him, pleading. "Her comment was not bad, but she has seen bigger."
The table exploded with laughter; Neito vowed he would find a memory-altering quirk right then and there.
Ice Cream Social
When the final bell rang, Vlad reminded everyone to rest, saying that tomorrow would be a long day of training. Izuku had packed up his bag; he saw Set doing the same. "Did you still want to go get that ice cream?" he said; a few of the people in class froze but kept moving.
"Of course," Set said with a smile. "Let me say goodbye to my friends, and we can head out." Her heart was throbbing in her chest.
"I will meet you in the hall," Izuku said as Neito, Sen, and Awase followed him, trying to get details of what was happening. He told them that she had told him there was some guy she liked and that this was just a friend thing. He whispered to them about her telling him about some mystery girl after he promised to text them later, and they left. He sent a message to his other friends, telling them not to wait. They had come to seek him out right at the end of lunch to check on him. Miriya and Shina turned some heads when they walked in, and Izuku had to explain to his friends who they were.
Set got a pep talk from Momo and Itsuka and a thumbs up from Tetsu. Lip gloss, touched up her blush and fixed the girls; she stepped into the hall after a deep breath or three. The afternoon light cascaded perfectly over his shoulders; she could feel the world swooning, her mind about to go blank. No, we can't faint right here. It will mess everything up; pull it together, girl! She yelled at herself mentally. Thankfully, it seemed to work. "Ready when you are, Izuku," she managed to say.
He smiled; she nearly jumped his bones, the usual. "Shall we go?" she nodded and stepped with him. "Recovery Girl is no joke," he said as they walked.
Setsuna was happy with the conversation choice, "She has that whole sweet grandma vibe, but she was all business today teaching us first aid. But it makes sense that she would be so strict."
"It is saving lives," Izuku nodded. "If we don't do our job, she has no chance of doing hers."
"That phrase just drove it home," Set replied.
As they walked together, it did not go unnoticed.
"Yo, Ochaco, I think that girl is trying to move in on your Dinosaur," Mina said, pulling Ochaco's attention from Ida, who, along with Denki and Eijiro, was walking with them.
"They are probably just friends," Ochaco said, biting her lip.
"I think she wants more of a look at how she is staring at him, fidgeting with her hair when he looks away," Toru pointed out.
"Well, it isn't like I can just run up and start something," Ochaco said, but then she smiled. "Hey, Mina?"
"What's up?" Mina questioned.
"Wouldn't it be a good idea for the bus trip over tomorrow that we have a mixed seating chart, you know, a member of our class, a member of 1-B," Ochaco said casually. "Help us get to know each other better." The newly elected class president smiled.
"You know, Ochaco, I think that is a splendid idea," Mina smiled.
Setsuna could have been talking about the most horrifying things or embarrassing moments of her life, and she would not have cared. They were talking about school, and he was talking about a problem he had in Classic Literature; when she explained it to him, the way his face lit up, oh sweet baby T-rex, she was in love with him.
They had stopped no more than three times to pet stray cats that would just come up to him; they all had names, at least names he called. He had food for every one of them; they even let her pet them. She asked him about his connection with animals and listened as he told her how much he loved animals and animal conservation. He had worked a summer job, so he would have the fine money when he got arrested for protesting a pharmaceutical company that was testing their products on animals.
She was laughing as he told her about his sister attacking him when he came home and his neighbors placing bets, and that when he lost, as he couldn't use his quirk, he had to be a kitty for her to pet. They would so often fall asleep like that till their mother came home. He started doing it when she first came to live with them as she was so nervous, and she would get so happy and relaxed when he did it, so it became their thing.
Set told him about her sister and how they would fight but that it was all out of love; her sister, like his, was older than her. But their relationship had improved the older they got; she knew her sister had her back no matter what. Her sister had just started college and was studying to be a teacher. She had a simple regeneration quirk, nothing powerful, but she never wanted to be a hero. She doesn't like the thought of hurting people; even when they fought, it was always Set who would make it more physical.
When she came to the small shop, she liked how the owners knew him and teased him about bringing her; the blush on his cheeks captivated her. They had the traditional vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate flavors, but the special flavors drew her attention. Lavender Honey, Spicy Peach, Hibiscus Berry, and Cherry Jubilee. He insisted on paying for her double scoop as they made their way to the little patio area on the side; it was fenced in and had climbing flowers all around, giving a secret garden vibe; the white and pink metal chairs and bistro tables, the grass instead of stone or concrete, Set was lost in this little tucked away world with him, she even saw a few butterflies. She wanted to confess to him right then and there, tell him how he had captivated her at first sight; the more she discovered, the more her heart cried out to say to him.
There were these quiet lulls in the conversation, nothing that made them uncomfortable; it felt to her that they didn't need to fill those moments and that those moments were just as unique as when he smiled about how tomorrow, after the rescue training, he would turn into the baby dinosaurs for her. When she asked him if he wanted to know anything about the mystery girl, all he wanted to know was if Set thought she was a good person and if Set, that would be good enough. She saw him blush when she asked him if he had speculated on who she may be, and he said of course. But in the end, he said it didn't matter if that worked out because he had made a new friend out of all this insanity.
The nervousness when he asked her if they were friends, she laughed and told him he had saved her freaking life; of course, they were friends. He tried to get her to give him details about the boy she liked. All she would say was that the more she learned, the more she was being swept off her feet.
"You have it bad then, don't you," he said, looking off to the side at some flowers.
"Oh yeah, I do," Set said, staring at him.
"That is one lucky SOB," Izuku said. "So tomorrow after the USJ, you will tell me who this mystery guy is. Are you sure the mystery girl is okay with you telling me?"
"Positive," Setsuna said. "I know she is really into you and hopes you like her too."
"Well, I would have to get to know her first," Izuku replied. "If she is nice, we share the same ideas about things, then I am willing to see where it goes."
"Do you believe in love at first sight?" Set asked as she leaned forward, her chin resting against her palm.
"I don't know about love, but I believe that there are people who take your breath away," Izuku said.
"Has that ever happened to you," she asked.
"Yes, a couple of times," he said, avoiding her gaze.
"Recently," Set leaned forward.
"Yes, you could say that," Izuku responded.
"Who was it?" Set wondered, desperately wanting to ask if it was her, "That girl from 1-A?" her heart was in her throat.
"Ochaco," he shook his head, "I think she is cute, but it is her personality I like; I have to get to know her more."
"So, are you hoping that the mystery girl is the one that stole your breath away?" Set felt her heart relax, hearing it wasn't Ochaco. Please let it have been me, she thought.
"It can't be her," Izuku said, he smiled at her. "But we should go; our trains will be coming soon."
Set was sad that this little romantic spell had to break; she wanted to come back to her again and share a kiss in their little secret garden. "One question then," Set asked. "Is she in our class?"
Izuku blushed, scratched his cheek, and just nodded, "Will you ever tell me who it is?" Set said as the gate opened and stepped back into the real world.
"Maybe," he said smiling, "Someday."
"I can live with that," Set held her hands behind her back as they walked, a spring in her step just being with him.
"Are you excited about tomorrow?" Izuku asked.
"Oh yeah," Set said, looking up to the sky. "I think tomorrow is going to be one of those days."
"One of those days?" Izuku said, a bit confused.
"An important day, a day when you look back on life, you point to that day and say that day was when things changed," Set twirled to look at him, smiling.
"If he says yes?" Izuku said. Good lord, this girl is so pretty; he thought whoever this guy is has to be one lucky SOB.
"If he says yes," Set whispered. "I think he is that wonderful."
"Wow," Izuku said, trying his best not to stare. "If he doesn't say yes, just point him out; I am sure Momo, Itsuka, and Tetsu would be happy to help me take him back and beat the tar out of him."
"That is very kind of you," Set said as she skipped ahead. "But we will find out tomorrow."
"Tomorrow," Izuku said. "I hope your dreams come true…tomorrow."
