Gohan and Goku left the Hyperbolic time chamber early. What would have happened if they stayed? Would Gohan have become a Super Saiyan two, or maybe even three? Would Goku still have died? How would the fight with Cell have gone and just what would have been the consequences of it? Read and find out.

9. Control, Alt, Delete

The hype is real! Gohan is being redeemed. I was practically bouncing off the walls after the episode of super where Gohan fought against Universe 9. It is like my childhood is being reborn. I just hope they keep the momentum going.

I'm also interested in the fact that #18 will be on the team. Comparing Videl and #18, Videl is clearly the better match for canon Gohan and after the Saiyaman episode, not only did Videl gain a new level of respect in my eyes, but she even made me like the Saiyaman costume. All they really needed to do was tone down his posing and cheesy lines a bit and it isn't half bad… plus, the fact that it makes Videl hot for Gohan is hilarious.

Anyway, circling back to #18, she is one of the most consistently powerful female characters in the media, so it is nice to see her being involved more in the plot. Speaking of strong females though… there is a female LSSJ! That is so bloody awesome! Even more hype. I'm almost convinced that I will either continue this through super, make a sequel that kicks off from super, or do my own version of super, somewhere down the line, as the multiverse arc is really rich with interesting characters. I wonder if universe 11 purposely has something similar to the Joker and Harley Quinn, for their God of Destruction and Angel, or if that is just me. I just saw clown face + girl with twin tails and instantly made the connection.

Anyway, enough of my rambling and hardcore fan-boy-ing, let's get on to some fanfiction!

Chapter 9 – Control, Alt, Delete

Gohan managed to make his way inside the Big Gete Star with only minimal difficulty. The structure itself had some innate defences that tried to latch on to him, but Gohan easily destroyed the metallic projections before they could reach him.

'What do you really think you can do at this point, Gohan? I am immortal and we've already been down this road before.' Said Cooler's voice, projecting from the Big Gete Star itself.

'You'll see, things will be different this time.' Said Gohan, causing Cooler to laugh.

'You're right, things will be different, you won't escape this time.' Mocked Cooler, only for Gohan to laugh in return.

'If by escape you mean mutilating you so badly that you needed time to recover and couldn't come after us, then yeah, we escaped.' Retorted Gohan.

'I don't appreciate your wit, monkey, but considering this is not only the last day of your life on this mudball, but also the last day for this miserable planet as well, I will let you enjoy this moment.' Said Cooler, before the sound of metallic squeaking could be heard.

'After all, my elite task force remains inside with me.' Said Cooler, as two dozen metallic clones surrounded Gohan.

'Twenty-four against one? You're making this too easy for me.' Laughed Gohan.

'Am I now? Well, let's see just how well you do then.' Said Cooler, before the clones started to glow.

When the glow died down, the Meta-Coolers had changed and taken the form Cooler had in his final form. Gohan was genuinely surprised at this and his face must have showed it, as Cooler's laughter soon echoed around him.

'Surprised, aren't you? I am no fool like my brother. Even with immortality, I saw I would be no match for you and your primitive friends, so I saw to it that I trained my army, as a good commander should. Now, each and every one of them is capable of transforming into my final form and the extra power that comes with it. You may wonder if that is actually going to be a problem, seeing that it only multiplies my power by a fraction of your coveted Super Saiyan transformations, however, how many of you are there compared to my army? Don't forget, for each one you strike down, the rest only get stronger. At this point, you have at best thirty minutes before my army becomes stronger than you. After that, it is only a matter of time before just one of my clones matches your own power, before surpassing it. What will you do then, Saiyan?' Taunted Cooler, causing Gohan to growl and transform into his Ascended Saiyan form.

'I won't let it get to that point, I'm coming for you now Cooler!' Shouted Gohan, before powering up immensely, to the point that his aura destroyed the clones around him.

'Impressive, but keep in mind that you are only making things difficult for your friends out there.' Laughed Cooler, before Gohan shot off deeper into the star.

'Guys, I don't think I want to compete anymore.' Said Krillin, as the humans stared down the clones which suddenly doubled in power.

'What happened, we were keeping up with them just a moment ago?' Asked Chiaotzu in confusion, narrowly avoiding a Ki blast shot at his tiny form.

'I don't know, but I think we need to get both serious and smart from this point on, the fun is over.' Said Tien sternly.

'I don't know if it was exactly fun before, but let's make sure none of us end up needing the Dragon Balls to come back from this fight.' Said Yamcha.

'Agreed, twice is enough for me.' Said Krillin.

'Yeah.' Nodded Chiaotzu in agreement, before the four pressed their backs against each other.

The Meta-Coolers looked at the humans confidently, before dozens upon dozens of them started to glow, leading to their power level increasing even more, along with their new change in appearance.

'I don't think I like the implications of what just happened. Last time I saw one of these guys transform, I got blown up.' Gulped Krillin, recalling Frieza and his latest death.

The army of clones then attacked en masse, throwing fists at the four humans.

'Guys, close your eyes!' Screamed Krillin, before placing his hands over his forehead.

'Solar Flare!' Cried Krillin, lighting up the battlefield.

'Tri-Beam!' Added Tien, as the group of Cooler clones were stunned, successfully destroying three dozen of them.

'Tien! Don't overwork yourself, we need to outlast them!' Shouted Yamcha, before cupping his hands together.

'Kamehameha!' Shouted Yamcha, using the signature attack of the Turtle Hermit school, destroying a swathe of clones.

'Take your own advice, Yamcha!' Huffed Tien, only for a Meta-Cooler to suddenly appear in front of him before he could react.

'Dodon Ray!' Cried Chiaotzu just in time, piercing the metallic armour and destroying the clone.

'Please be careful, Tien.' Pleaded Chiaotzu, only for the sound of laughter to echo across the battlefield.

'Geez, while we're struggling to stay alive, that guy is having the time of his life. These Saiyans are crazy man.' Whined Krillin, watching the Saiyan brute known as Broly, continue to rip through the clones, even with their new power boost.

'It doesn't matter if you get a little bit stronger, in the end you all die!' Cackled Broly, before charging up a green blast of energy in his right hand, which he launched forward, vaporising hundreds of clones.

'Guys, I think we are going to need to sit this out at some point.' Said Krillin, a cold sweat going down his back.

'Yeah, but we can still fight for now.' Said Yamcha, before a clone snuck past his guard and gave him a brutal uppercut.

'Yamcha!' Cried the three other humans, quickly rushing to their friend's aid, only for a group of them to dogpile the three.

A massive explosion of Ki blasted the clones away, freeing the three humans, before they finally reached their friends.

'Relax guys, I'm not going to lose from one lucky shot.' Said Yamcha confidently.

'Um Yamcha, if you forgot, that is exactly what did happen to you, twice now. Remember the Saibamen? You didn't forget Doctor Gero either, did you?' Asked Krillin.

'Now is not the time Krillin!' Shouted Yamcha in embarrassment.

'In any case, we need to be careful now guys.' Said Tien.

'Man, I wish Piccolo was still with us, he'd run laps around these things.' Groaned Krillin.

'Well, he is doing his part over there.' Said Chiaotzu, pointing off in the distance closer to the ship, where Piccolo was launching multiple Ki blasts, which weren't hitting his targets.

'What is he doing?' Asked Yamcha in shock.

'Wait for it.' Said Tien knowingly, confusing the others.

'Wait for what?' Asked Krillin, only to faintly hear Piccolo shout, as almost two hundred clones leapt at him, only for all the energy blasts that had been floating in the air, to converge on them and destroy them all.

'That, now stop gawking.' Said Tien, before charging a clone.

'These guys are all insane.' Muttered Krillin, before following after, with Yamcha and Chiaotzu following.

The three androids touched down on the edge of the Big Gete Star, having remained both undetected and out of sight of the Cooler army.

'So what now, Sixteen?' Asked Eighteen.

'We follow Gohan.' Said Sixteen simply, before the trio entered the Big Gete Star, following after the young Saiyan's power signature.

'What is this thing anyway?' Asked Seventeen, looking around them warily.

'My sensors indicate it is absorbing energy from the core of the planet itself and transferring it to a single entity within the structure.' Said Sixteen.

'So, it's a ginormous metal parasite?' Queried Eighteen.

'Sounds about right.' Muttered Seventeen, narrowing his eyes as he did so, suspecting a sneak attack of some sort.

Despite Seventeen's suspicions though, the group managed to make their way through the Big Gete Star with ease, encountering no resistance at all and were almost upon Gohan.

'Slow down, we should remain hidden for now and only interfere when needed.' Said Sixteen, confusing the other two.

'I thought you wanted to help.' Stated Eighteen.

'I do; however, my scanners indicate the place where all the energy is being drawn too is just in front of us and believe now is the time to exercise some restraint.' Said Sixteen, getting two nods of understanding.

'So you finally made it, Gohan.' Said a voice, confusing the three modified lifeforms.

'Just come on out already, we both know how this ends.' Said Gohan, causing the voice to laugh.

'True, but although we both know it ends with defeat, you still believe you can win here today.' Said the voice.

'Are you scared, Cooler? I promise to make it quick, just like it was for your brother.' Said Gohan.

'Frieza? That fool is no brother of mine. True, I would like to avenge him, but he was a fool and even took our father to the grave with him. No, this is a purely personal matter between you and I.' Said Cooler, before the Big Gete Star started to shift.

A panel on the wall in front of Gohan started to rotate, before sliding up and revealing a small port, which slowly expanded. The whir of machinery could be heard, as it seemed a pulley system kicked into action at that moment. A figure started to be seen in the abyss and slowly came into view. A smooth doomed head grabbed Gohan's gaze first, before it smirked. The rest of the body belonging to the head followed after, appearing as a mismatch of shiny metallic material and blackened organic components.

'Well Gohan, did you enjoy seeing this face in your nightmares?' Taunted Cooler, spreading his arms to the side, as cables detached from the back of his arms and legs, letting him drop down to the floor gracefully.

'Not really, you're pretty ugly.' Commented Gohan dryly.

'I'm sorry to hear that. After all, I'm afraid I can't modify my appearance all that much. Well, I suppose that isn't entirely true. Remember how I said I trained my army? Well, I trained myself too. It is quite humorous to note, that both my brother and I never did any training, we were just naturally gifted. When I heard of my brother's demise, I trained for a full week before coming to this planet in search for his killer. In that one week, I managed to gain a new transformation, I'm sure you remember it, since now my army can access it as well.' Monologued Cooler, sending a cold chill down Gohan's spine.

'As it would happen, I managed to train on the way here. In the time between our last confrontation and now, approximately six months have passed since we last met. Do you want to see the new transformation I've managed to achieve? I believe you will like it, since it matches you Saiyans, well, at least in colour.' Laughed Cooler, before clenching his fists and squatting down.

Cooler's roar of dominance pushed Gohan back, as a multitude of air waves shot out at the young Saiyan. Cooler started to grow taller and his form started to change colour. It looked like a messy patchwork sheet, as the remaining organic parts of Cooler started to glow brighter and brighter, almost appearing to be the sun itself, before dimming slightly. The previously grey armour had now turned gold. It was spread around Cooler's form, with the right side of his face, left arm, upper torso and his legs down to his thighs now golden, while the rest of him was still a dull grey. Gohan took a step back in disbelief as Cooler's power level had far surpassed anything Gohan could have expected, even his own at his current maximum.

'Ah, there it is, there is the look I have been craving to see for months now. Complete and utter despair. You finally know your place, monkey boy. It doesn't matter how much you scratch and claw, my race is superior to yours. The only reason you managed to beat Frieza was because he was a blind fool, continually supressing his power and losing touch with what his true power felt like. I never engaged in such a foolish endeavour, instead, I learned how to control my power, in order to conserve my stamina. This form itself would normally be tearing away at my reserves, but with the Big Gete Star fuelling me with the energy of not only your planet, but the energy of every planet the Big Gete Star has destroyed, my energy is limitless! Bow down in despair, for you cannot win here today.' Exclaimed Cooler in triumph.

'H-how is this possible? You mean you got this much stronger just by training?' Questioned Gohan in disbelief.

'Indeed. Although I must admit, it is a novel thing, training. I am impressed you've managed to do it for so long and achieve so little. Truly, you Saiyans are an inferior species to only grow such a miniscule amount.' Mocked Cooler.

"No, I can't give up now, we can still do this. We factored Cooler's power level out of the equation completely, as it doesn't matter how strong he is, all that matters is getting a sample to calibrate the remote and we should be able to stop him." Thought Gohan, before steeling his gaze and taking a stance.

'Your stance… do you really intend to fight me with how weak you are by comparison? It is almost sad to see how ignorant you truly are. My power has surpassed your maximum capabilities more than a thousand-fold. If I had my original body, it wouldn't even be possible to scale our powers together. Yet despite this, you honestly wish to fight me?' Questioned Cooler.

'It doesn't matter how strong you are, I will beat you, one way or another.' Said Gohan defiantly, causing Cooler to laugh.

'That is amusing. So, you have a plan do you? Well then, let's see how this affects your little plan.' Said Cooler, before disappearing from Gohan's sight and embedding his fist into the young Saiyan's gut, causing him to vomit blood and drop to his knees, coughing and hacking up more blood.

'Oh dear, I believe I just tore through your gut with that little greeting, based on the amount of blood you are leaking.' Commented Cooler.

Gohan regained his breathing and spat out the last of his blood, before glaring up at Cooler hatefully.

'Still defiant? Very well, I will let you have one shot to defeat me.' Said Cooler, stretching his arms out to the side.

"Okay Gohan, you can do this. One punch, a bit of skin, a bit of blood, it doesn't matter, I just need a small sample for the remote and this can all be over." Thought Gohan, before getting back to his feet, swaying slightly from blood loss.

Gohan let out a roar of anger as he pushed straight into his Ascended Saiyan form, before rushing at Cooler. Everything seemed to be going according to plan, only for Cooler to weave out of range of the attack and kick up, slamming his foot into Gohan's stomach and launching him up into the air.

'I said I would give you one shot to defeat me, I never said I would stand here and let you try it. The one shot you have to defeat me, is your life.' Said Cooler, giving Gohan a malicious smirk.

'Here I thought you and Frieza were the same, guess you are smarter than he was.' Said Gohan, spitting a bit of blood to the side.

'But of course, I am the eldest after all.' Replied Cooler.

'I still won't lose here though.' Continued Gohan.

'By all means, try, it makes this whole experience more enjoyable for me too.' Said Cooler.

Gohan launched at Cooler again and threw an uppercut, only for Cooler to lean back and avoid the young Saiyan's fist. Turning in mid-air, Gohan tried to kick Cooler's head off, only for Cooler to squat down and avoid the kick. Undeterred, Gohan used the momentum of his kick to spin and tried to nail and elbow into the metallic head of his foe, only for Cooler to backflip away from the attack and slam a knee into Gohan's back, cracking a rib on impact. Gohan screamed in anguish, before Cooler used his tail to pick Gohan up by his waist and fling him into the side of the Big Gete Star. Slamming into the cold unforgiving metal, Gohan felt another two ribs snap under the pressure, but quickly pushed off the wall, avoiding Cooler's kick, which ripped through the metal like it was paper. Gohan charged up two Ki blasts in his hands and threw them high and low, try to force Cooler back. Cooler smirked and shot in between the attacks, before headbutting Gohan's chin, causing the Saiyan to cry out in pain, as he was launched back into the Big Gete Star. When Gohan emerged from the hole he had just made with his own body, he had blood running down his forehead and out of his mouth.

'Masenko HA!' Shouted Gohan, launching a golden ball of energy from his hands at the alien.

Cooler smirked and slapped the attack away with ease, causing Gohan to growl.

'Surely that isn't the best you can do?' Questioned Cooler.

Gohan growled again, blood trickling out of his mouth, before shooting off at the grey and gold monster in front of him. Gohan launched multiple jabs at Cooler at blinding speeds, only for Cooler to sway away from each and every one. Teleporting behind Cooler in an instant, Gohan tried to elbow Cooler's kidney, only for Cooler to flip up in the air over him, before smacking him down to the ground with his tail. Gohan plummeted to the ground and slammed into cold metal once again, only for two iron pillars to slam into his back, causing him to cry out in pain again.

'Come now, Gohan, I know you can do better than this.' Said Cooler, as he stepped off Gohan, before kicking the Saiyan across the room.

'You're right. Since you've transformed, I can't match you in this form anymore.' Agreed Gohan.

'You still won't be able to match me in your new form, but I'm happy to see you try.' Teased Cooler.

Gohan clenched his fists and squatted down low, recalling the focus he needed to achieve this transformation.

"It just doesn't get any easier, no matter how much I try to access it." Thought Gohan, searching for the spark of his new form, before faintly locking on to it.

Gohan's screams echoed through the Big Gete Star, while also managing to churn the clouds in the sky high above them, despite them being encased inside the planetary parasite. The sound was so great, that the fighting outside stopped, as clone and Z-fighter alike looked towards the Big Gete Star.

'So he is doing it, in that case, time to finish up here.' Said Broly, before charging up two lime green energy blasts in his hands, before launching them out to either side of him.

'Struggle all you want, in the end you still die!' Roared Broly, as he launched numerous Ki blasts, at the two slowly expanding green ones he had first launched.

Upon contact with the initial green blasts, the newly launched Ki blasts were absorbed and caused the energy spheres to expand, until each one was the size of a city. The two blasts tore through the land, gouging into the earth deeply. Broly laughed madly as the two attacks reached the two groups of clones on either side of him, before they were all engulfed in the attack. A blinding green light exploded out from the two attacks after a moment, causing everyone to shield their eyes. When everyone could see again, there were two massive trenches on either side of Broly and no clones in sight.

Broly ignored the looks of shock and disbelief the others were all giving him, before blasting off towards the Big Gete Star.

'Man, I'm really glad that guy is on our side now.' Said Goku weakly.

'You forget that he still wants to kill you. I would start taking my training seriously, Kakarot.' Said Vegeta, shaking himself out of his stupor and following after the Legendary Super Saiyan.

-line break-

'Sixteen, what are we still waiting for?' Hissed Eighteen.

'Do not worry, Gohan is not beaten yet.' Said Sixteen.

'You say yet though, which means it is only a matter of time, so what are you waiting for?' Asked Seventeen.

'Gohan is still fighting despite being clearly outmatched, he must have a plan, I am waiting for the right moment to assist him.' Explained Sixteen.

'And how will you know when it is the right time?' Asked Eighteen, just as the group saw Gohan's hair start to flicker and the aura around it weakened.

-line break-

'Damn it, I'm almost out of time in this form.' Muttered Gohan, only for a green blur to race past his vision.

'Gohan, do it now! Whatever your plan is, act now!' Shouted Sixteen, holding Cooler in a full nelson hold.

Gohan quickly teleported in front of Cooler and punched him straight in his face, drawing the first bit of blood against his opponent that he had their entire fight.

Cooler growled in anger, before powering up, blasting the two fighters away.

'And who might you be?' Asked Cooler in disdain, as the android got to his feet.

'Someone who loves this planet and won't let you destroy it.' Said Sixteen.

'Sixteen! You could have given us a bit more warning to act!' Admonished Eighteen, as she and her twin landed on either side of the android.

'I needed to act at that very moment.' Explained Sixteen, causing the blonde to sigh.

'Keep him busy for me!' Shouted Gohan, before teleporting away, shocking the three creations of Doctor Gero.

'Please tell me he didn't mean us.' Said Seventeen.

'He did not.' Said Sixteen.

'Then who was he talking to?' Asked Eighteen, only for a green blast to rip through the Big Gete Star, before exploding on impact with Cooler.

'Him.' Said Sixteen, as Broly entered the scene.

'Ah yes, the mindless beast has arrived. It seems your little friends have lost their nerve. One has just fled from his fight with me, while the other has yet to even show his face to me.' Said Cooler.

'You look much more shiny, Cooler. I wonder if your blood is tastier now too.' Grinned Broly, his eyes reflecting nothing but madness and destruction.

'Well then, Legendary Super Saiyan, let us see how your mythical form holds up, against the pinnacle of my race's transformations.' Challenged Cooler, before Broly launched himself at him.
