This story begins as an expedition ship arrives at Marina del Rey, the docks outside Los Angeles. A young lady walks towards the sides of the ship and watches as the ship prepares to land. "Throughout the places that I have been, such as the Dardanelles, the Mountains of Peru. But I got to say that there's no place like Los Angeles" Suddenly, a familiar face enters the scene and says "Yeah, there is no place like Los Angeles" The woman looks back with concern on her face. "Mr. Morningstar?" While remaining with a straight face, he looks towards the city and responds "You are young, Miss Lopez. Life has been kind to you." He can sense that she wants to know what he means by that so he adds another point "You will learn, eventually"

Mr. Morningstar walks towards the front of the ship while he gazes at Los Angeles. It's like how he remembers it after he got taken away. "In a world where every soul is filled with goodness or filth, they seem to most likely be in Los Angeles" While Ella Lopez was entranced to explore the city, she couldn't help but feel concerned for her friend. "Is everything ok, Mr. Morningstar?" He responded while still looking around "I beg for your indulgence, Miss Lopez. But my mind was just overwhelmed. As these once familiar streets are filled with shadows, everywhere" "Shadows?" Ella was a little confused but she was willing to listen. While he looks on, as he remembers the warm days with his family. "There was a barber and his wife. She's smart, virtuous and beautiful. There was another man who had his eye on her. A snatching vulture who removed the barber out of the equation" While he explains his little backstory, feeling sorrow and torment of being forced away from his loved ones. Ella responds "And the lady, sir? Did she resist?" "Oh, I don't think that she did. Well, that's many years ago." At last, he snaps back into reality as he looks behind towards Ella. "I like to thank you, Miss Lopez, for if you haven't found me, I would still be lost" Ella walked forward with a big smile on her face "Well, I got to thank you for helping me as I desire to see the world" "If there's the one thing that I know, it's desire" "I guess that makes you a talented barber" Ella needs to ask him a final question before she ventures off. "Will I see you again?" "You can find me if you like" He looks back to the streets "I'll be at Fleet St" Ella hugged Mr. Morningstar before they parted ways. While he is a little startled, he lets her as it is part of her personality. "Till then, my friend" For that, they went through their separate ways.

As Mr. Morningstar walks through the streets of Los Angeles, there are some women who are attracted to him but what he keeps his mind is one goal and one goal alone. To be with his family again.
