Under The Airstream

{And that is why I can no longer think of you as Gar, it puts me in the mind frame that I'm talking to the silly, relaxed, original Garfield Logan. From now on you are Logan, no one underestimates that name.} Robin thought.

{Well anyway, can you get with Arnie and have him park a heavy suspension truck or van on the other side of the park from this warehouse in a couple of hours? I found something while I was looking around and want to get it out of here before we kick things off here.} Gar asked him.

{I'll send him a text, now tell me the plan.} He said with interest.

{Well, the only way out for all these people is to go up the ramp, and that is past all the armed guards. So I need to double-check that Biggis didn't set up any explosives as a last-ditch effort to keep your family away. After that, I want to find a way up to you so that you can follow me back down after dropping off some stuff with Arnie. Then we take out the 20 guards and Boss Biggis himself.} Gar summed up his plan.

{Now that I have the plan, let's think up every way it can go wrong and plan for that.} Gar added.

{Ok Arnie said give him an hour and he will be here.}

{I will start looking for bombs then.}

As Gar turned into a bat and flew out of the top of his tent, he started to fly along the walls looking for any bombs or anything else strange. {So, your names Dick huh, and it must be a pretty dead giveaway, considering the panic you showed with me saying it. Match that to the name Matt and there is only one possibility in Gotham. A rather fantastical tale that rings loud in Gotham even years later. A circus performer who was adopted by the famous billionaire Matt Wayne. "Rags to riches" with a tragedy, how many idiots have you had to listen to that said they would gladly lose their parent to be adopted by him?} Gar thought to Robin as he flew around finding nothing on the walls or ceiling yet.

{I have no idea what you're talking about. The story is familiar but has nothing to do with me. Idiots that take their parents for granted are just that, Idiots.} Robin tried playing it off even though he knew the jig was up. He quickly relayed in text the whole story to Devilbat.

{Well, I have flown around this place twice and found no bombs, though I did find where my fellow bats come up and I think I can climb up it fairly easily. That means when you come back down here with me you will be going down a bat hole, you ok with that Robin?} Gar teased.

{Hardy Har Logan, your humor is terrible. Why don't you just fly out and find me? Why are you talking about climbing out?} Robin asked.

{Because I'll be carrying something out and I don't think I can carry it as a bat, silly. Hopefully, It will weigh hundreds of pounds.} He told him.

Flying to the wall that he had torn the mold from for April, Gar returned to normal and sat down to think for a bit about how feasible his next change would be. A Graboid wouldn't work for more than finding stuff and swimming underground, going up a wall was a definite no go. So, let's see how good The Red is at making what I remember because my Martian transformation isn't going to do it this time.

Gar entered his mind and stood next to the red wall in his head and thought about a rodent-like creature with a long snout similar to that of a platypus and a coat of black, fluffy fur. A pouch on his belly that can hold far more than seems possible. About 3 feet tall and floppy looking feet with claws to easily dig for the shiny objects they crave. The wonderful NIffler of the Harry Potter world.

After getting used to his new form, he crawled over to where they had been digging all day. Gar was a little worried that his Niffler form wouldn't be much help because buried treasure isn't usually very shiny, but he was hopeful knowing they were used by Goblins in the HP verse for this very purpose.

Gar started to dig in the ground letting his instincts take over and they were surprisingly leading him away from the mass graveyard. Believe it or not, he wanted to go to Biggis trailer. Gar tried to focus on something other than the big Airstream, but all his instincts led him to under it. [Well, I chose this form for a reason, I guess.] Letting go Gar just dug around under the camper.

Within minutes Gar/Niffler hit paydirt. 4 big metal and wood chests. He was able to dig into the wood on the side of a chest and gold coins and jewels started pouring out. He just shoved them into his pouch and started doing the same to the other chests until they were empty and his pouch felt about half full, he guessed was the best description.

Now for the climb out, Gar wasn't sure what would happen if he changed forms again, but he really didn't want to take the chance of losing all his shiny's, so he was stuck climbing out as a Niffler. Luckily this body was almost as good at climbing as it was digging so over to the wall closest to the bat exit, he went.

Gar found a couple of spots where he had to dig a bit to ensure Robin would fit coming back down. Any rocks he had to remove went into his pouch, so they didn't rattle down the tunnel making unnecessary noise. Eventually, Gar started encountering vegetation, and not to surprisingly the bat exit [God I am loving all these puns.] came out of a tree.

Knowing that Robin wouldn't fit, Gar dug around the roots to make a hole in the ground for him to fit. He even noticed some grubs and worms attached to a couple of tree roots that had started to rot. He nipped the bad roots so the rot wouldn't get to the tree and ate the grubs and worms. [Yup, I ate them. Not proud of it but when you let the instinct go that's what you get.]

Once he made it to the surface, Gar looked around and saw a van not too far from him. {Hey Robin if you're in the van, open the back and help me up. It's a tall van for me right now.}

Gar watched as the back door swung open and Robin looked around. {Down here man, help a bro up I can't reach.}

Robin looked down and started to laugh but then tried to hold it back, the result was spit hitting Gar's head. Finally, he just let go and started laughing and typing on his wrist. Gar heard what sounded suspiciously like the sound of a camera shutter. {Ho Ha, funny. Now help me up and close the door.} Gar said in a deadpan voice.

Crawling close to the cab, Gar ignored the look on Arnie's face and just started digging into his pouch and pulling stuff out. First was the rocks and finally the gold and gems started pouring out. Gar just naturally put on a couple of necklaces and kept digging and bringing more treasure out.

Gar didn't want to even think how a magical creature from another world still had its magic here [Or is H.P. in this world? I'll have to investigate.]. Gar thought poor Arnie was going to have a heart attack watching this all unfold in front of him. Or it could have been all the gold that made his eyes pop out like that.

After he emptied his pouch, Gar changed back into his Human form and Morph was quick with some shorts keeping me from flashing everyone. "Ok Robin, I got us a way down, but you should find some clothes or a robe of some sort to move around down there." Robin again punches some buttons on his wrist and his outfit goes to black and grey coloring to meld into the night better. "That will work, I think the trick to this will be getting the majority of the people up the ramp before any of the guards notice what's going on. Arnie, you should head back to the yard. Things are going to get interesting here. Robin, you want to call the Devilbat or do you have a direct line to the Commissioner or someone that can get some cops here without all the sirens blaring?"

"Got my sources at GPD on their way, bringing a couple of patty wagons and busses for the people." He said.

"You shouldn't have much trouble opening the ramp door right? Do you want to head straight there or go with the first group? Also, how many people do we want there before opening the door? Don't see how we can keep Boss Biggis from knowing the door is opening." Gar continued.

"Oh, Ye of little faith. If it has code to it, I can make it do what I want, with enough time." Robin said jokingly.
