"I don't want you anywhere near my kids!" Sam Morgan rounded on her ex-husband as they waited in the hallways of General Hospital.

"Sam, do you really think I would put Danny in danger on purpose? Danny is my son too, you can't keep me out of Danny's life." Jason pressed his lips into a thin line.

"Oh I'm sorry, did I strike a nerve?" Sam made a disgusted face.

"What is your problem? You've treated me differently ever since I came back to Port Charles. I'm not back here under some false pretense that we belong together, I know that time is behind us. I am here for Jake and Danny, I'm here to be a father." Jason had grown sick of Sam's resentment towards him, it was aggravating. Couldn't they just be friends?

"Don't forget Carly." Sam scoffed, barley able to hold back from rolling her eyes.

"What?" Jason scoffed.

"Everyone knows you can never leave Carly alone." Sam crossed her arms.

"Why do you care? You've made it clear where we stand. If I do get together with Carly, that would be my business." Jason tried his best to hold his composure but, he was getting fed up.

"Jason, The truth is...you could slit my throat and with one gasping breath, I'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt. You have no idea how much I begged and begged for you to come home alive, to come home to me and Danny. The three of us were supposed to be a family but, you have more alligance to Carly and Sonny than your ex-wife. I don't think you really care about being present in Danny's life, what's the point? Your just going to disappear again!" Sam threw her hands up in frustration.

"You say you don't care about me but, you sure have a funny way of showing it. I don't have any plans to leave my son. That's in the past, it's better if we don't open that door." Jason sighed deeply, rubbing a hand across his face.

"If you think that, you obviously haven't been paying attention. God Jason, sometimes you are so completely dense! Why? Why can't we talk about it? Because it's too hard for you?" Sam yelled at him, pushing Jason back a few feet.

"Am I supposed to read your mind, Sam? I love you, I really do but...our time together is over. You're engaged to Dante, stop focusing on the past." Jason sighed, he couldn't let himself think about Sam. He didn't want to go down that road again, it hurt too damn much.

"You are so far away from the Jason Morgan I fell in love with." Sam glared at him, tears threatening to spill down her cheeks.

"I could say the same thing about you." Jason's words felt hollow.

"Hey, I'm sorry to keep you guys waiting. Danny's going to be okay, he's lucky the car crash wasn't much worse." Lucas Jones came over to the estranged parents.

"Thank God he's okay, I was so worried." Sam clasped her hands together, Jason's eyes couldn't help but wander to her ring finger. It was much more flashy than the one Jason had given her, he wondered if Dante was compensating for something.

"Will Danny have to stay overnight?" Jason cleared his throat, tearing his eyes away from Sam's finger.

"No, he's ready to go." Lucas shakes his head, picking up on the tension.

"Hey dad, I'm all ready to go." Danny gave his father a hopeful smile, as he strode towards his parents.

"Danny, you're coming home with me!" Zipped out of Sam's mouth, silencing Jason with a cold glare.

"Mom, I want to see dad. Is that a problem?" Danny noticably deflated but, tried to maintain a easy going smile.

"Of course not, I just thought you'd want to spend some time with Dante." Sam lied.

"I see Dante all the time, I just got dad back!" Danny was clearly upset.

"Fine but, we will be talking about this tomorrow." Sam warned him.

"Fine." Danny sighed, as Jason and Danny left GH Sam gave a longing look to her favorite man, even if she could never have him again.
