What if Naruto had Wood release and all of the ninetails.
Chapter 1 "I will not be sealed again"
A blood curdling roar can be heard throughout the village. The village was on fire and streets were littered with countless bodies and heaps of what used to be buildings. The village, Konohagakure, was left at the mercy of the strongest of all the Tailed beasts, the Kyubi. The Hokage, the leader of the village, arrived just in time and teleported the beast outside of the village into a far away clearing.
Minato Namikaze, the 4th Hokage of Konohagakure, was a good leader, a strong warrior, a loving husband and a recent father. He was feared throughout the other villages because of the power he demonstrated during The 3rd Great Shinobi World War, Going against 1000 enemy shinobi all on his own earning him the title of Yellow Flash. To Him was born a bright young boy with blonde and azure eyes, like his father.
"We need to seal him up again." said Hiruzen Sarutobi, the previous Hokage, hailed as the God of Shinobi for his strength, and The Professor for his knowledge in ninjutsu mastering all the Jutsus of the entire village with exemption of kekei genkai .
"I know. The question right now is to whom?" Uttered Minato. Although he didn't say it out loud he already knew who he needed to seal it into.
The Kyubi and all the tailed beasts are a sentient mass of chakra that was created by the Sage of Six Paths. The beasts, when killed, reform in a new area and slowly recuperate the chakra they lost.
The 3rd and 4th Hokage knew they cannot hope to even beat the Ninetails as its energy was even larger and more potent than the late Hashirama Senju the founder of the village, and the previous holder of the title God of Shinobi. Steeling his resolve, Minato used Hiraishin to transport himself and the Kyubi to a remote area outside the village. Hiruzen arrived just in time and used the Shadow clone jutsu,who then positioned themselves square around the kyubi. The clones then went through a series of hand signs and used the Four Red Yang Formation and to trap the kyubi inside.
"Hurry Minato, I cannot hold him for that long. I only have enough Chakra to hold him for 3 minutes at best." Screamed Hiruzen, sweat that can be seen clearly dripping from his face.
In a Flash Minato went to his wife Kushina Uzumaki, who was breathing heavily, next to her was their recently born baby. He approached her and kissed her forehead then proceeded to take the baby into his arms.
As he was about to leave his wife grabbed on to his cloak and asked "What are you going to do with him Minato?".
"I'm sorry honey, I will seal the kyubi inside of him." Answered Minato sadness clear on his face.
"No, seal it inside of me instead. Let it die with me I don't have long anyway." Uttered the crying Kushina.
With a frown Minato answered "I'm sorry, but the village might need the Kyubi's power in the future. We need Naruto."
"But he will be mistreated, frowned upon, scorned. I cannot let my baby live a life like that" Said Kushina. "Not to mention that fox would do all that it can to make him miserable. I don't want to lose my son to that demon."
"I can't say I know what you feel, but I do understand. But do not underestimate our son Kushina, he will be more powerful than I could ever hope to be." Said Minato.
—Flashback—
"How's my little boy." Said Minato while caressing the stomach of the 7 months pregnant Kushina.
"Hey! Can you feel that?" Exclaimed Kushina "He just kicked."
Minato feeling the kick wept in joy, feeling that he can finally have something he has always wanted. Growing up an orphan, all he ever wished for was a family who loved him, now that he's going to be a father he felt that he officially made his wish into a reality.
"Yeah! I can, my little boy is already throwing kicks he's trying to be a ninja already" said Minato, tears forming in the edge of his eyes.
Kushina seeing her husband's eyes was happy, she sees the love her husband shows her and her yet to be born child. She wrapped her hands around her husband and hugged him tightly. Minato, although stunned, quickly hugged back. Minato glanced at the potted plant they have on the desk close to the window, he noticed that it bloomed instantly. He was curious as to what this phenomenon could have been caused by. The next day Minato immediately went to his office and researched all that he could about the strange occurrence he witnessed until he saw the name Hashirama Senju. Hashirama senju was the founder of the village and was known to be one of the, if not, the strongest ninja in all of the village's history. Hashirama was known for his usage of the Mokuton, Wood style kekei genkai (bloodline limit). Minato flashed to the residence of his predecessor, Hiruzen to ask a few question.
"Sensei, you were with sir Hashirama right?" Asked the curious Minato.
"Yes my boy, I could still remember that potent and large chakra he had." Answered Hiruzen. "I could still remember the strength of his mokuton and the amount of power he could unleash. Truly worthy of the title God of shinobi."
"Can you elaborate on his mokuton?" Said Minato.
Hiruzen, with nostalgia showing on his face, answered "He could make forest grow in an instant, His constructs were so beautiful a single one would've probably sold for a fortune, and his power could have leveled this village all on his own even if all the ninjas in this village worked together"
Hearing this minato couldn't help but nod in amazement and urged Hiruzen to continue.
"He was so in tune with nature that his emotion could affect the trees and plant life of all Konoha." Continued Hiruzen, "Hell, the trees' leaves would turn dim when he was sad or angry, and all plant life would bloom and turn bright when he was happy."
Minato after hearing his words immediately said goodbye and went to the hospital and had his DNA checked. He approached his most trusted doctor Biwako Sarutobi, who was also the wife of Hiruzen.
"Hello sensei, I want to ask you for a small favor" asked Minato
"Tell me what you need my boy." Answered Biwako in a professional voice.
"I need you to compare my DNA with someone." Said minato.
"And who would that be?" Biwako asked, with curiosity clear on her face.
"Tobirama Senju." Minato answered.
Biwako, shocked by this news immediately did the test that confirmed his suspicion. Minato was unable to hide his disbelief, spent the next 2 months studying all that he can about the senju, their style and the mokuton. He used all techniques he had in his arsenal to gather all that there was. He sealed all the information and jutsu he gathered into scrolls.
—Flashback end—
"There's no time, sensei needs me now" Minato uttered still sad about what he was about to do.
"Let me come with you" Kushina hurriedly grabbed on to her husband with eyes that seemed to plead. "I want to say my goodbyes to my son"
Minato knowing he cannot dissuade his wife, flashed back to the clearing where the Kyubi was at and summoned an altar. He then placed Naruto on top of the altar and went through the necessary hand signs to perform the Eight Trigrams Seal.
The Kyubi knowing he was about to be sealed again was furious. He used his tail and whipped on the barrier weakening the barrier heavily. Hiruzen who was already running low on chakra after previously fighting the kyubi, as well as dividing his chakra to his clones, as well as using the formation passed out due to chakra exhaustion and the formation broke.
The kyubi knowing he was free from the restraints of the formation, lunged at Minato, extending his hands with sharp claws to try and stop him from sealing him once more. But before he could do anything Kushina extended her adamantine chains and restrained the kyubi long enough for Minato to finish the final hand signs. The Kyubi who was about to be sealed as a last act of defiance tried to kill his soon to be container, tried to pierce the infant only to be stopped by the parents of the child.
"I will not be sealed again" Screamed the Kyubi in an ungodly, demonic voice.
Hiruzen who just woke up after passing out for just a few seconds approached the slowly dying Minato and Kushina with the kyubi's claws piercing through their stomach, Sadness evident from his face.
"Minato hold on, you have to live on for your son." Hiruzen uttered the screaming Hiruzen.
"S-Sensei" Minato feeling his life slowly slipping away called to his predecessor coughing up blood."I want to see my son."
Hiruzen hastily approached the altar, held the baby unto his arms and brought him to his parents to give them the chance to say goodbye.
"I'm sorry, I wish I didn't have to do this but I didn't have a choice. Grow up to be strong, honest and honorable. Protect those who are precious to you and live a long happy life. Even if I can't see you anymore, know that I am proud of you no matter what life you live. I will seal a part of your mother's chakra inside of you so at least she can see you, she's probably the only one who loves you as much as I do. I love you." Says Minato as he rub the baby's cheeks with the back of his hand.
Minato with a stern look stares back at Hiruzen and said, "Sensei, I left a scroll for him inside my home office. Give it to him when he's 4 years old. I'm sure he will need it."
Hiruzen tears flowing from his eyes asked, "What's his name?"
With a smile, Minato answers "Naruto Senju"
Hiruzen, surprised, looks at Minato and stares at him curiously as if urging him to elaborate further.
"I have written all about it in my letters. Seeing as I do not have time to spare, I need to tell you, someone has attacked us after Kushina gave birth. He claimed to be Madara Uchiha, although I managed to beat him, I was unable to kill him as he used a strange ability to escape." As he says this, Minato finished sealing the Kyubi in the then crying baby as if knowing something horrible has happened. He then fell to the ground lifeless. Kushina barely hanging on grabbed on to the clothes of the old man carrying her new born baby. Hiruzen noticing this crouched down to the slowly dying Kushina to allow her to say her last words to her son and hold him for the last time.
"My sweet baby boy, I'm sorry I can't be there for you as you grow up, please stay healthy, eat right and get strong. Find a girl who will love you for you and stay away from the 3 taboo of shinobi. I love you with all of my heart." Finishing her last words to her son she quickly looked to Hiruzen and said "Please take care of him. Protect him, and be there for him in our stead." She then closed her eyes and went to rest in her husbands arms with her son in her own. The two parents embracing their son for the first, and the last time.
—A Week Later—
"We must kill the demon brat" yelled a member of the council
"Yeah! We must rid this village of his accursed existence." Yelled another
"Silence all of you!" Yelled the know angered Hiruzen.
The village was no doubt distraught after the attack of the Kyubi. Homes wrecked, families separated from their loved ones and countless of lives were lost due to the kyubi's almost infinite power. Having lost the 4th, Hiruzen had to take up the mantle once again to act as a pillar and ensure a semblance of stability within the Village hidden in the leaves. 3 days after the attack hiruzen went to the Namikaze estate and read the contents of the letter Minato has left for him.
—flashback—
Sensei, If you are reading this letter, I am afraid my worst fears has come to pass. I and Kushina have lost our lives to protect Naruto. I wrote this letter hoping to not have to let you read it. But if you're reading it know it means I died. Anyways. In the past months I have noticed some peculiar phenomenon around my house which I never saw before. So I went to confirm my suspicions to your beloved wife Biwako. It was there that I found out about my relation to the 2nd Hokage, Tobirama Senju. Although it is unclear how I am his grandson. I was surprised to find out as well. I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to tell you.
But after I found out I put in all my time researching about the senju and knowing all about their styles and jutsu, their training style and diet all so I could give Naruto what I never had growing up, the pride of belonging to a clan. I tried to reach out to Madame Tsunade about this but have been unable to although I did tell Jiraiya-sensei about this. Anyway, I'm sorry for having to make you take up the mantle again, I wish the circumstances were different, but we have no choice now do we? In this scroll I sealed away all of my knowledge and all the knowledge I gathered from the senju compound and hidden compound. From Ninjutsu to taijustsu even genjutsu and kenjutsu, along with my notes on where and how to improve it and the necessary diet he needs to make his body suitable for this styles. In a separate piece of paper I wrote something only you should know about old man, burn it after you read it.
Surprise, shock, sadness and happiness struck Hiruzen. A cacophony of emotions that left him almost breathless. He then unsealed the paper that Minato talked about in his letter and read it.
Burn This after you read it sensei. Although I do not boast of strength I am confident that I can hold of the kyubi, so in the event of an attack it can only mean that there was a perpetrator. Unease cannot be ignored in my heart so I write to you about 2 people that are a major threat in my opinion. Both you know pretty well. Danzo and Orochimaru. I have had reports of suspicious activity between the two. Rumors of kidnapping and illegal experimentations have been surfacing all around. Please stop them. Not only for the village, but also for my son. Although this is selfish of me I have reason to worry as my son may hold the power seen only once in the history of Konoha. I suspect he has the Mokuton. Although I am not yet sure of this, I have reasons to suspect he has a strange affinity to nature as did sir Hashirama. Please protect him and keep those 2 away. Please protect my son, and my home.
Hiruzen was so surprised by the revelation he decided to read the letter again to check if he read all the letter correctly. Surprise like never before struck his heart.
"hahahahahahah! The legendary Mokuton has returned to the village once more." Uttered hiruzen to himself with happiness clearly etched on his face.
Sudden seriousness returned to him when he remembered the contents of the letter addressing his former best friend and rival and his prized student who went mad in pursuit of power.
"I may have failed to stop those two before, but no more." Hiruzen screamed angrily burning the letter that Minato asked him to.
"Dog!" Called out Hiruzen seemingly to no one.
In an instant a figure wearing a mask designed like a dog appears on his knees in front of Hiruzen.
"Call for a council meeting 4 days from this day" says hiruzen to the masked man.
"Yes Lord Hokage" answered the kneeling, masked man.
—flashback end—
"How low have you scum fallen? To suggest the murder of the child who is at the same time the Hero of the village and the one who suffered the most loss." Yelled the angry Hiruzen.
"I agree with Hiruzen." Said a man with one hand and a bandaged up right eye.
"It is as you say Danzo-sama" said the former teammate of Hiruzen, Homura Mitokado an Elder of the village.
"Instead of execution I suggest we give him to Danzo-sama for training" says an old woman Koharu Utatane, also a former teammate of Hiruzen.
"Yes I will surely raise him to be loyal to the leaf." Danzo suggested.
"Loyal to the village or to you?" Hiruzen, bloodlust and killing intent leaking all throughout the room.
"Calm down lord Hokage." Says Shikaku Nara head of the Nara Clan. Laziness evident on his face, tired to be in such a troublesome environment.
"Let me adopt him instead" Uttered Fugaku Uchiha, Head of the Uchiha clan one of the founding clans of Konohagakure.
"absolutely not!" Said the enraged Hiyashi Hyuga, Head of the Hyuga Clan. "That will create an imbalance of power between the clans"
The entire Council began to argue. Their ramblings went on for hours and the end seem to be nonexistent. Until the Hokage, Hiruzen spoke up and said,
"He will be given to the Senju clan. And His status as the jinjuriki of the Kyubi shall be made an S class secret. Shall his status be leaked by any member of this council, clan head or otherwise, shall face execution."
"but lord Hokage who will take care of him?" Says a council member one of the heads of the civilian council.
"I can't help but wonder the same thing Lord Hokage. It's been years since lady Tsunade left this village." Said another.
"I have sent Tsunade news of this already, and has expressed the intention of coming back within the next week." Hiruzen replied.
"What good would a gambling drunkard be for a baby?" Says Homura, "He should be given to Danzo instead."
"I have decided and spoken. Not another word!" Hiruzen screamed angrily. "Power hungry scum. I have already received permission from the Fire Lord for this and will not be overturned by your words."
"How dare you call me power hung—" Koharu tried to interject when Hiruzen not wanting to hear anymore of their bullshit decided to flare his chakra to the maximum leaving those in attendance gasping for air.
"Leave now, do not test my patience any further. The reason you are still breathing right now was because of our past friendship. However if another word, no, syllable leaves that mouth of yours right now this council will have a vacant seat immediately." Says Hiruzen. The look in Hiruzen's eyes just told them he would do it.
Koharu, Danzo and Homura immediately tried to leave, when Hiruzen Called out "Danzo! I will not give you a second chance, disband it this instant."
"I do not have any idea of what you're talking about Hiruzen" says Danzo emotions absent from his voice.
"Do not think that I don't know. Just Know that you've been warned." Hiruzen uttered while looking at Danzo as if he was a lone ant Danzo feeling his chakra and killing intent can't help but agree to his stare.
"Well that's is all for todays agenda, you are all dismissed." Said Hiruzen to the council in the room. All immediately rose up from their seats and left the building to go back to their respected clans and homes.
"I'm getting too old for this" said Hiruzen staring at the window and looking at the village, His village slowly getting back up and recovering from the incident as the sun begins to set on Konoha, the Village Hidden in the leaf
