CatNap's POV
The door opened, and Sablemoon was at it.
"Hey CatNap. Why did you want to come?" she asked as she let me in. I sat down on the couch.
"I want to show you something I found." I replied. After a bit, she came back with some light snacks. I grabbed a box from a bag I had with me. I looked around at the things she had, and contemplated the things I brought.
I opened the box, and inside was a game console, remotes, and a collection of games to play.
"I found it laying around, and wondered if you could help me identify it?" I asked. She left, came back, with a bunch of books, consoles and remotes, and papers.
Sablemoon's POV
I might be easily angry about a lot of things, but one of the few things I can talk about for long periods of time is electronics, specifically video game consoles.
Ok, so the one on the left is a 'Someka Home entertainment console' from 1972, and the one on the far right is the 'Turbo fun games console' from 1980. I studied heavily at every console, and the console CatNap brought with him. The games were interesting. They were rare games, only made for a certain time, recalled for unknown reasons, or lost to time. Some of those games might be worth a fortune, purchased by collectors willing to pay absurd amounts for them.
"What do you make of it?" CatNap asked me, seeing me study everything. I got up, went to a bookshelf, picked up a book, and walked back. I opened it to page 195, and looked between the console and the page.
It was a match.
This console was so rare, the company that made it denied it ever existing. The few that were made were recalled, along with the games, so fast that those that did buy it never even got to play the games they got with it. I read the section where I found the match to CatNap.
The Playtime Co. Gamer Device
This console was Playtime Co.'s first and only attempt to get gamers included in their market in 1990. There were only three bought before the product was recalled, and fifty games were made for it, and those were recalled as well. No one is sure why they did it. Playtime Co. denies its existence, but the three that got it testified that it indeed was a real product, as well as those they showed, adding truth to the testimonies.
No one has seen this product since then, and the few that did see it have passed away.
It had the usual features for the time, but strange features, those being of older consoles. This is a few of the features from the promotional material, and the eye witness accounts before they're passing:
-It had arcade games built in, like 'Pac-Man', 'Donkey Kong', and other classics. It also had original games on cartridges and discs, like 'Huggy Wuggy's adventure', 'Smiling Critter Playtime', and others games based on their licenses
-It would've had twenty controllers, for the MMOs around at the time, and for large groups, but the buyers only got two each. They don't know the reason for this
-There would've been a fancy cartridge for every one hundredth product sold. One such cartridge was leaked to the public, and the only one was misplaced, or so Playtime Co. says
-Every purchase came with a plush for every character, and everyone of those that came with the purchase of the games was recalled, but the plush idea was reworked to have only their licenses. Those were eventually recalled after some time. The reason for that was some "Red Gas" that came from them.
This is all the information we could gather. But if anyone had this console for whatever reason, they should keep it, as Playtime Co. might snag it up otherwise.
"Wow, this is one special console." CatNap said, after I read the entire thing. I looked at the games, and they matched the description of the book.
I wrote a description of the console for CatNap on a paper, he took it, taped it onto the console, and left.
