The Battle Continues Part 1
-three years later-
"Hey, hold up, Chris!" a boy said to his friend. He had green hair and green eyes. He was wearing a shirt with Garurumon on it along with jeans.
"Don't worry about it, Matt," Chris said. He had red hair with yellow highlights and blue eyes, and wore a shirt with the Xros Wars version of MetalGreymon and shorts. "Decepticons never come out this far except for routine checks, and that was two days ago."
"That's not what I'm worried about. Going out to the juckyard? I'm not exactly up to date on my tetanus shot."
"But you gotta see what I found. It's just up ahead."
He followed his adventurous friend. They both lost their parents about three years ago to the Decepticons, mostly being raised by Alice, Chris's big sister. She and Matt knew she couldn't stop Chris from being who he was, but they wished he was more careful. Well, making sure it was past the usual Decepticon patrol was a good start.
They eventually came to what he wanted to show him. A red 1977 Camaro with a yellow spoiler on the back, as well as a strange green car of unknown make.
"Okay, these are awesome, Matt said, eyeing the green one. "I've never seen this vehicle before."
"I know right? So awesome! I've always wanted a red car! Such a hot rod!"
"Of course it's the color you're excited about. Hmm?" He noticed a strange symbol that looked like a face on the steering wheel. "Hey, Chris, this thing's got some weird symbol on it."
"You noticed it too huh? I have no idea what it is, but I feel like it's good."
"When you have a good feeling, it's usually right. So, why are we here?"
"Why else?" Chris pulled out a couple keys, handing one to Matt. "Race!"
"Huh? Don't tell me you stole these keys."
"Of course not. The keys were lying next to the cars. Weird shape though."
"Yeah, looks like something out of a cartoon. Anyway, should we really be doing this? You know what your sister would say."
"What Alice doesn't know won't hurt her."
"Alright, but I'm not covering for you. If she asks, I'll say you forced me to come."
"And I'll back you up."
"Damn, I hate it when you say dumb things like that. Makes me feel more like a jerk. Let's just do this." Matt got in the green car as Chris got in the red one. "I assume you've got the finish line figured out?"
"Yep. That cactus."
It was a cactus about half a mile from them.
"Alright, then. And the starting signal?"
"Right. I forgot about that."
"How about I give it?" a female voice said.
"Hey, thanks for-" Chris looked to see pink hair girl in a ponytail wearing a blue shirt with a robot girl and jeans. "ALICE?!"
"You didn't honestly think you were sneaky, did you?"
"But how did you find us? I kept looking back but never saw you." She gestured to her hip, and he felt around his pocket. "You bugged me?"
"Yeah, and I like racing too, so let's do this. Oh, and Matt? Throwing your best friend under the bus is not cool. And neither is supporting you best friend throwing you under the bus, but it's better."
She stood between them with a hankerchief, and with a wave, signalled for them to start. As they raced toward the goal, they were stopped when a pair of jets rushed toward them. They suddenly transformed into robots, one red and white, the other tan and purple with cannons on its back.
"I thought their patrol was two days ago!" Matt said.
"It was, I swear!" Chris said.
"We decided to have a race because Blitzwing thought he was faster than the great Starscream!" the first said.
"And we saw you, wondering what you humans were doing," Blitzwing said before his face and voice changed. "So, what are you puny insignificant humans doing?"
"We were racing," Matt said.
"Oh, our apologies for interrupting your competition," Blitzwing said.
"Whatever, let's just- Wait a moment." Starscream looked at the cars, as if inspecting them. "I think I've seen these vehicles before."
"Hoo-ho-hooo! Maybe they're some cars that wouldn't let you scan them or something!"
"No, that's not it."
Chris and Matt were confused before hearing a beeping. They looked down to see screen with a message.
'WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE QUICKLY.'
Starscream wiped the dust from the green one, and he gasped.
"They're Autobots! Destroy them, and the humans!"
'DRIVE!' the screens said, and they listened. Chris opened the door as he came up to his sister, and she jumped in.
"Why are those Decepticons after us?" Alice asked.
"They think our new cars are autobots!" Matt said.
"Autobots? You means the ones who waged battle to destroy the Decepticon forces?"
"If that's true, we can't let them be destroyed," Chris said. "We can't let the Decepticons take our planet, not without a fight!"
"But if they're Autobots, why don't they, you know, transform?"
"Be nice if there was a 'Transform into Awesome Robot' button."
Chris noticed a blinking red button that looked like a face, the same kind that was on the steering wheel.
"Please tell me you're not thinking of pushing it."
"You have a better idea, sis?"
"No. Do it."
Chris nodded, pushing the button. Suddenly they were surrounded by an energy field as a warbling sound was heard. They found themselves in a weird cockpit like area as a screen came online.
Outside, Matt saw the red camaro transform into a robot. The spoiler was flipped around, becoming part of the back. The front of the camaro stuck outward as a round head with a spike appeared.
"I know it, an Autobot! You're Hot Rod, aren't you? You should be trapped in vehicle mode."
"Not anymore Starscream! Get ready for pain!" The Decepticons braced themselves, but Hot Rod wasn't moving. "What the-? I still can't move?"
"It appears you are still immobilized due to the virus," Blitzwing said before his face switched to black and crazy. "Hoo-ho, but we aren't going easy on you just because you're sick!"
"Do something, Chris! I am not dying like this! I haven't even gotten a boyfriend!"
"Really, that's where your mind goes, sis?" He noticed two glowing orbs. "Maybe these do something." He grabbed them, and as Starscream charged, he thrust his arm forward. Hot Rod ended up punching Starscream, which surprised him too. "Uh, that wasn't me."
"It was me!" Chris shouted from in Hot Rod. "I did that!"
"What? Listen, kid, I don't need help, okay?"
"Uh, you kinda do. You can't move on your own right?" Hot Rod groaned. "Besides, you've fought them, so they have an idea how you fight, but not me. Let me help!"
"Alright, kid." Chris clicked on the orb in his left hand, which showed a holographic screen. "What the-? Energon Saw?"
"Do whatever you did before and activate that!"
"Right. Go!" Hot Rod lunged forward, thrusting his right arm to punch Blitzwing as a saw appeared in his left. "Huh?"
"Why would you thrust with the right instead of the one with the saw?"
"I've never tried to move a giant alien robot with weapons before, okay? There is a learning curve!"
"Well, I suggest you learn fast!" Hot Rod said.
"Hold it right there!" Starscream said, pointing his left arm toward the nearby town. "If you don't want that town destroyed, I suggest you turn back to vehicle mode, and the humans step out of you."
"Oh, no, what do we do?" Alice asked.
"Get away from our town!" Matt said, charging straight at Starscream. He turned to see the others charging at him, firing a blast right in front of them, flipping them over onto their back. Matt hit his head, passing out while his autobot was still awake.
"Oh, no!" Chris and Hot Rod said together.
"Fools, getting in my way. Hmm?" He looked to see Hot Rod with an energy building around him. "Uh, what's going on?"
"How dare you..." Hot Rod said.
Inside of Rodimus, Chris was enveloped in energy.
"How dare you..." Chris said as the energy built up.
"HOW DARE YOU HURT MY BEST FRIEND!" the two said together.
"Chris, what's going on?" Alice asked.
"YOU'RE GOING DOWN, STARSCREAM!" Chris and Hot Rod said together as energy exploded from them.
"What in the name of the Allspark is going on?" Starscream shouted.
Suddenly, Hot Rod was engulfed in flame that covered his entire body. Chris thrust both orbs forward as they charged Starscream. The Decepticon could only look on in terror as the Autobot charged at him. He slammed into Starscream, burning the Decepticon from the heat of the intense flames. Blitzwing was shocked, and looked on to see Starscream with metal burns. He grabbed Starscream by the foot before tossing him in the air and transforming into a tank.
"Don't think this is over! We'll be back!"
As they fled, Alice looked to see Chris exhausted.
"Chris?" Suddenly the energy orb appeared again as Hot Rod returned to vehicle mode. She saw Chris passed out. "What was that just now?"
The screen lit up as Hot Rod gave her a message.
'I HAVE NO IDEA.'
Meanwhile, at the Decepticon stronghold, a large figure entered a room with monitors.
"Why did you call me here, Shockwave?"
"Forgive me, Lord Megatron, but I saw something strange on the monitors," a cyclops with a blaster arm said as he brought up the reading. "An sudden burst of energy in the desert. It disappeared just as quickly as it appeared."
"You dragged me here for this? While it might seem concerting, don't forget the Autobots have been defeated. We have nothing to worry about."
"Blitzwing to Shockwave! Blitzwing to Shockwave!"
"What is it, Blitzwing?"
"Starscream has been damaged by Hot Rod!"
Megatron and Shockwave gasped.
"One of the Autobots? Impossible! My virus infects their T-Cog, trapping them in vehicle mode and unable to move on their own!"
"Well, this autobot had help from a human. But that's not the craziest part."
"What do you mean?"
"I don't even understand myself. I feel as though it'd be better to explain in person. So to speak."
Blitzwing hung up as Shockwave went to prep the medical lap and contact their doctor. Meanwhile, Megatron was contemplating. He returned to his throne room, where a red and blue truck was on display.
"Well, old friend, I do believe things are about to get very... interesting."
how'd you like that? I was originally doing Hot Rod's original V-mode, but decided to do the Camaro that Bumblebee debuted as in the first Michael Bay movie. don't worry. he'll be a Dome Zero by the end of the next chapter or the one after that. after all, the Decepticons have seen their vehicle modes. hope you enjoy the next chapter.
