"I have good news and bad news, Bayonetta-"

"Bayonetta?"

After the woman, now known as Bayonetta, was awakened and taken by Ivo Robotnik, aka Dr. Eggman, she found herself laying down on a medical table and was currently in the middle of being tested by the Doctor who found and took her in.

"It's your new name I came up with, since I found you with a bayonet stabbed into your body."

Eggman explains why he named the woman in such a way as he continues to do research on her body.

"I see… Thank you, I like it."

While the reason for being called "Bayonetta" was a bit, "Simple", to put it nicely, she couldn't help but appreciate being given a name, even if it wasn't her real name. It made her feel more, "Complete", as if she now had something instead of nothing. Also, having a name given by someone, while still technically a stranger, was someone who saved her, showed her kindness, and was currently helping her. It just made her happy and feel less alone.

"Yeah yeah, as I was saying."

Though it was unsure if Eggman felt the same way with the woman before him.

"Good news: After scanning and analyzing your brain, I found out that you aren't suffering from amnesia, instead, your memories are just simply being blocked by unknown means."

Anyway, Eggman started to explain his findings to the woman, specifically about why she couldn't remember anything, which definitely catches her attention.

"Does this mean you can bring back my memories?"

Once hearing the possibility that Bayonetta still had her memories and didn't lose them, it made her hopeful that it could be brought back.

"That would be the "Bad News" unfortunately."

Though such hope was slightly dampened when Eggman revealed that it wasn't that easy.

"While I did find your memories and the reason why you can't access them, I unfortunately have no way to unlock them for you."

Eggman rubs his chin as he looks closely at his reports and notes of the situation.

"The way it's being blocked could be considered, "Magical", and as a man of science, this could be difficult to figure out and solve."

It was definitely a head scratcher for Eggman, as he was doing his best to understand his findings.

"So you're saying there's no way to bring back my memories?..."

Bayonetta was about to look defeated and sad again, but before she could feel such negativity, Ivo was able to say something that refueled her hope.

"I said it would be difficult, not impossible, this wouldn't be the first time I dealt with mystical problems, just give me time to do research and further experiments, and I should be able to do something eventually."

Eggman spoke with such confidence and certainty that he would be able to fix this problem, as if it was the absolute truth and facts.

"Though that might be unnecessary, if what I'm seeing is correct."

However, despite such assurance of Eggman's own abilities, he also mentioned how it might be unneeded to do anything.

"What do you mean?"

Which did confuse Bayonetta somewhat.

"While yes your memories are being blocked, it seems that it shouldn't be a problem for you to unlock it yourself."

Confusion turns into surprise when Eggman reveals that she had the power to fix it herself without needing his help.

"Really?"

"Yes, but you would need to figure out the "How" yourself."

Of course, the "How" was still unknown to Eggman, yet even with that mystery still unsolved, it was enough to not only give Bayonetta hope, but a reason and purpose to fight and live on for.

"Thank you Doctor, you've been such a wonderful help to me."

And Bayonetta couldn't help but be very thankful towards Robotnik for giving her that reason and purpose.

"I'm only doing this for my benefit, once you outlive your usefulness and are no longer worth investing, you will be kicked out of my lair and be left to figure out your own problems by yourself."

Eggman only huffs in response, acting his usual selfish self and obviously admitting that all of this effort he was committing was for himself and no one else's.

"Heh, I understand."

Yet even with that fact so painstakingly obvious and upfront, Bayonetta still couldn't help but smile and be happy to have such a man help her this much, whatever the reason.

"With that being said, since you are my guest now, and technically my prisoner, I might as well be a gracious villainous host and show you around your new living arrangements that you will be forbidden to leave unless I say so."

With all said and done, Eggman decided to end today's research and experiments. Instead, he wanted to focus on what to do with the woman who would be staying with him for the time being. However, as he was thinking about it, he glanced back at his so-called "prisoner" and was instantly reminded of her lack of clothing.

"But first, we need to do something about your lack of attire."

Eggman sighs and shakes his head. A few moments later, the once naked woman now stands before a full-body mirror, checking herself out in her new clothing, which oddly resembles the Doctor's, but is more fitting for her body.

"Hmm, I think I wear it better~"

Bayonetta looked at Ivo and teased him by posing and showing off how she made the clothes look better on herself than the original.

"I'll be sure to have Orbot and Cubot get you something more fitting once they return from being abandoned in the forest."

Eggman could only roll his eyes from behind his glasses as he turns away and begins to walk away, gesturing for the woman to follow, which she does.

"Do commit what I'm about to show you to memory, I don't want you getting lost in my home and going somewhere you're not supposed to be at."

Eggman decided to take the chance to show his "Prisoner" around his lair, mostly to make sure she wouldn't get confused on where she should and shouldn't go.

"I was aware you were some type of scientist."

But while the two walk together through the lair, Bayonetta couldn't help but look and admire everything she could see.

"But I have never seen such advanced and wonderfully crafted machinery and tech."

And many of the things that Bayonetta did see were mostly very high quality made technology, ranging from simple devices to complicated machines.

"You must be a very brilliant scientist in the world."

Bayonetta made sure to compliment the genius while admiring everything before her.

"Heheh, well, maybe more than the entire world, but I'll be humble enough and say one."

All the praise no doubt over fuels the ego and arrogance for Eggman, chuckling and acting all "Humble", though came out more smugly.

"Oh? What are these mechanical devices?"

Soon, Bayonetta came across a window and looked through it. Doing so gave her the opportunity to witness a large room filled with many types of robots and machines being made in large amounts.

"Hmph, what you are looking at are my Badnits, basically my military robots meant for war and crushing my enemies."

Which Eggman stood next to her and also looked through the window, all while explaining to the woman what she was currently seeing.

"Of course, on their own, they're weak and easily destroyed, but they make up for it in numbers and are easy to assemble for quick development."

"So quantity over quality?"

The more Eggman explains, the more Bayonetta was able to understand.

"That's right, but if you want "Quality", then please allow me to show you my heavy hitters of my armada."

Of course, Eggman had more to explain, and to show, gesturing for her to follow and see his robots that were built with more "Quality" in mind.

"Oh my…"

Bayonetta was definitely not disappointed in what she saw. Before, she had seen a ladybug motorcycle and mechanical wasps, but now, she was seeing what looked to be a giant metal knight with a chainsaw sword.

"Some are meant for defense, others for absolute destruction and devastation, though a few have a mix of both or specialize in something completely unique, like Sage."

As Eggman was showing off his more bigger and badder robots, once he mentioned the name "Sage", a familiar looking holographic girl appeared before the two adults.

"You called for me, Sir?"

Sage was ready to serve and see what she was needed for.

"Aww, now isn't she such a cutie~"

Bayonetta was able to instantly notice how cute this hologram child was.

"Oh? Is this another of your robotic creations?"

This definitely catches Sage's attention, not recognizing who the woman was and just assuming she was another creation made by her creator.

"No Sage, she was the unknown power source we found, I have yet to figure out why she is."

Eggman quickly cleared up the misunderstanding and explained properly on who the woman was.

"So for now, she is just my prisoner until I figure out what to do with her."

As well as Eggman mentioned how the woman was his prisoner, which made her raise an eyebrow.

"Understood Sir."

Sage just simply nods in understanding.

"But since you are here, why not take the opportunity to introduce yourself to Bayonetta?"

Eggman stepped aside and decided to allow his A.I creation to speak with the woman.

"Greetings, Bayonetta, I am known as Sage, the Artificial Intelligence assistant for Dr. Ivo Robotnik, my main primary function is to serve and protect my creator whenever possible."

Sage floats before the woman and gives a proper introduction to her.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sage."

Bayonetta made sure to greet her in kind.

"So far, she has been my most outstanding invention I made yet, despite being incomplete and unfinished."

Eggman sang praise and how proud he was with the creation of the A.I.

"Once she is fully developed, I hope to integrate her into my system and take full control of my entire fleet."

As well as the many plans and uses Eggman had for the holographic girl.

"Well she sure does look capable."

Bayonetta couldn't help but admit and agree, as she could tell how amazing the A.I was just by looking at her.

"I will try not to disappoint you, Sir."

Sage thanks them both, all while being confused when she felt her "Cheeks burning up?", but she had no time to question it as she just disappeared from everyone.

"Quite reliable machines you have here, Ivo."

Bayonetta was already beyond impressed with all she was seeing.

"Well of course, I was the one who personally designed them after all."

Once again, Eggman spoke of himself with high pride and cockyness.

"But I don't always rely on them, I sometimes take matters into my own hands as well."

Though from what Eggman had to show, especially when it comes to revealing his giant mechs that come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of lethality, some might say he can back up the bite he barks.

"I can see that."

Something Bayonetta could agree with, and had no reason to doubt him.

"And finally, this is where you will be staying, Bayonetta."

Soon, after all the exploring and admiring of Eggman's lair was finished, it ended with him leading and showing off the living quarters that his guest would be staying in.

"Such a terrifying jail cell for your prisoner~"

Bayonetta couldn't help but tease Ivo for having such a nice looking room, despite being his so-called "Prisoner".

"Don't test me, I don't usually treat my prisoner with such pleasantries."

Eggman just huffs and crosses his arms in response to her teasing.

"And what makes me so different?"

Bayonetta placed her hands on her hips and tilted her head while raising a questioning eyebrow.

"Well for one, you're not my enemy, so I have no reason to treat you as such, also it would be a better investment to treat you more kindly for better cooperation and results."

Eggman was able to explain the logical and sensible reason for the way he treats her.

"Not to mention, even if you are connected to the strange power source, you are still nothing but a weak human woman, so there's no need to go through the trouble of containing you in a more advanced cell."

As well as taking the chance to remind her how superior Eggman was compared to her and how it wasn't needed to take her seriously.

"My, you definitely know how to make a lady feel special."

Bayonetta rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile slightly in response. Even though Robotnik was rude and overly arrogant, she still found him funny and charming. She was also curious to learn more about him, wondering what kind of man he was. So far, what she had seen was definitely interesting, to say the least.

"Now then, if there is anything you might need, please bother Cubot and Orbot, they'll basically be your slave that'll do anything you say, just be sure to threaten them to make them listen."

"Who?"

But before Eggman and Bayonetta could continue their moment together, it was immediately interrupted when a door slammed open, revealing Orbot and Cubot floating in quickly, panicked.

"BOSS!!!"

"These two idiots."

Cubot and Orbot wasted no time hiding behind Eggman in fear, much to his annoyance and confusion.

"Sir! It's terrible! He's Rebelling Again!"

"Who's rebelling?"

Before Eggman could get an explanation from Orbot and Cubot on what was going on, a wall was suddenly broken and burst open, revealing another mechanical being. This one looked more "menacing" compared to the rest, especially with his black visor with red optics, which simply glared at everyone in front of him.

"Oh, Neo Metal Sonic…"

"I'll Crush You!"

I'm going for more family-friendly, not romance, but I'm not sure what kind of family relationship Bayonetta and Eggman should have, I'm thinking maybe Brothers X Sister, or maybe Father X Daughter? What do you think? I'm open to suggestions.

(BTW, this version of Sage is the same as the one in Frontier, but just less advanced to put it simply, if that wasn't obvious enough)
