(AN: Hello all! Hope you are still enjoying the story!)

Tonks leaned against the doorway to the smallest bedroom of their little flat above her parent's garage.

Outside the window, the February wind and snow whistled loudly.

"Hey, how's it going?" She asked Remus.

He was putting the finishing touches on their son's crib, he stood up and smiled.

"Just finished, actually. All done." Remus smiled.

Tonks smiled back at him.

"Want some toast? I just made some." Tonks offered.

"Sure." He reached him hand out to her and they went to the little kitchenette they had. It only had a sink and toaster, if they wanted to make anything elaborate they had to eat with Andromeda down stairs in the main house.

They typically did do this at least for lunch and dinner for the past month they had been staying with her.

Remus was just happy that Tonks had started to recover from the attack in London. The day after they had rushed to Andromeda's the news had reported that nearly five city blocks had been burned down. Hundreds of muggles had perished because of it.

It had affected Tonks for weeks. She was just now starting to seem a little more herself again.

"Mhhhm. Thank you." Remus grinned as he munched on his toast.

Tonks walked around to the other side of the small counter they had and the calendar they had there caught her attention.

She flipped through it to April, and was planning on circling the babies due date.

She crinkled her brow, it was already circled.

"Oh you circled the baby's due date" she said happily as she filled in other details on the calendar.

"What?" Remus asked, quickly. Putting his toast down.

Hoping he'd misheard her.

Tonks gave him an odd look as she marked the calendar.

"The baby, you circled his due date?"

"The baby, he's due in April. You knew that." Tonks said in a slightly annoyed tone. Clearly confused by his confusion.

"No no. I understood that. What day did you say was the due date, w-what day is circled?" Remus asked, panic rising in him, he raced over to the calendar to see.

"It's the 11th, -but." Tonks attempted to explain he could come before or after that too." But, Remus cut her off.

"W-what, it's the 11th?" He asked terrified.

"Yes." She clarified, starting to get worried.

"Oh my God." Remus gasped

"That's not why you marked it?" She asked in a small voice. Not wanting an answer.

"No no no no no. NO!" He pleaded to the universe. Putting his hands on counter and bowing his head, looking at the calendar.

It couldn't happen, it wasn't possible.

"Remus?" Tonks said, unsure what to say or do.

"The 11th is the full moon." Remus told her, his lips together forcefully, pointing at the calendar.

"That's why I circled it."

Remus was practically shaking.

"Oh Remus." Tonks said sadly, walking over to him.

She put her hand on his back, but he moved out of her reach.

He shook his head. He didn't feel he deserved her comfort. Not after everything that happened after she had got pregnant.

He felt like his throat was going to close and he felt tears sting his eyes.

Remus tried to brace himself, and gripped the counter hard.

Remus bowed his head, crying into his hands.

Tonks froze. She was shocked, she'd only really see him cry once before. And these were real true tears.

He held back sobs, crying over the calendar.

He wasn't sure why he was turning into such an emotional mess of a person. His son was changing him. It was like, he'd kept certain feelings wound up for so long that now they were just spilling out, like spilt ink pouring out over parchment.

She walked over and hugged him. She held onto him and he held her back as he calmed down more.

"Remus?" She rubbed his back.

"Yeah?" He answered, voice raw with emotion.

"You turn into a werewolf for 8 hours, once a month. you'll be here for his birth." Tonks assured him.

"But what if it doesn't work that way?" He pleaded.

"Y-you would be alone?" Remus explained.

"No, I wouldn't be. Ashlee would be here, and my mom probably and Molly." Tonks tried to reassure him.

"I wouldn't be alone. And, he could easily be born a few days before or after the due date anyways. Try not to worry." Tonks tried to placate him.

Remus nodded. But was still terrified.

Over the next few days and weeks Remus tried to put his mind at ease and try to not think about his son's due date, but this was often something that he was unsuccessful at.

He desperately tried to keep himself occupied for the remainder of February, and focused on setting his son's room up, which he had come close to finishing.

He even felt like he had made some progress with his relationship with Andromeda. They had begun to spend a little more time downstairs with her and from what he could tell she was excited to be a grandmother for the first time.

One snowy afternoon in late February Remus found himself journaling about his son, while Tonks slept on the small sofa they had. Her feet curled up next to him. He turned away from his journal and threw the little knit blanket they had over her covering her up.

A small knock at the door startled him.

"Hello, Yes?" He called quietly.

Andromeda popped her head in.

"Oh, she's asleep." Andromeda said when she saw her daughter.

Remus nodded. Assuming Andromeda would leave after seeing this but she came over to sit down.

Remus put his journal down on the table, closing it as he did.

"I remember my third trimester. It's good she's resting." Andromeda smiled fondly.

"Well, I'm making meatballs tonight, I'm assuming you two would be interested?" She asked.

Remus smiled. "That sounds delicious. We will definitely be there." He smiled.

Andromeda nodded, briefly glancing down at his journal.

"I-I didn't know you kept a journal?" She asked.

"Yes, I have kept a journal yearly since I was 11 actually. My mother turned me in to it."

Andromeda chuckled. "You'll have to forgive me. Sometimes it's hard for me to understand that you're really just a normal person. I'm sorry. I wish I wasn't so prejudice . I-I'm trying to be better. I really am."

Remus was a little surprised by this admission.

"Well, I promise, I'm pretty mundane." Remus smiled kindly.

Andromeda nodded. "You know I've never met your family. Are you all close?" She asked.

Remus nodded. "My father and I are very close. My mother and I had a very close relationship before she passed away as well."

She nodded. "Well, perhaps soon we could meet each other?" She asked.

"My father would love that, actually. I was actually planning on writing to him today."

"Well, if you'd like feel free to invite him to Sunday dinner. I'm probably making Shepherds pie."

Remus was slightly shocked but tried to make it seem like he wasn't.

"Ah, yeah. I'll do that. I'm sure he'd really like that actually." Remus nodded.

"Well, it's settled then, let him know he's more than welcome this weekend.. I'll see you downstairs in a bit too. Dinner will be ready in about two hours."

"Thank you, Andromeda. See you then." Remus smiled, as his mother in law retreated.

He sat happily on the sofa for several long moments after she left.

Somehow he'd made more progress with her in five minutes that he had in nearly 8 weeks.

He wasn't going to question it. But, he was going to act on it. He grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill and wrote a quick letter to his father, inviting him to dinner that weekend.

Perhaps his luck with his mother in law was changing.
