The Cullen house hummed with the subtle energy of a family in quiet rhythm. It had been weeks since the attack, and the scars of that night had begun to fade, replaced by something softer. The children laughed more now, their sharp edges dulling as they learned to trust again.

In the living room, Juliette sat beside Rosalie, their heads bent over a worn photo album Rosalie had dug out from a dusty shelf. The pictures were faded but full of life: Rosalie and Emmett in the 1950s, dancing at a party; a snapshot of Emmett holding a bear cub with a wide grin; a rare, candid photo of Rosalie laughing.

"Was this really you?" Juliette asked, her finger tracing the image of Rosalie in a vintage dress, her blonde hair perfectly styled.

Rosalie smiled softly. "Yes. That was taken not long after I met Emmett. He's the one who insisted on keeping these photos."

"You look so… happy," Juliette said, her voice tinged with a quiet longing.

"I was," Rosalie replied, her voice warm. "And I think I might be again."

Across the room, Emmett and Nathaniel sat on the floor playing chess. Emmett, as usual, was less focused on the game and more on making Nathaniel laugh.

"Are you sure you want to move there?" Emmett teased, raising an eyebrow as Nathaniel hesitated. "Because if you do, I might just win this time."

Nathaniel snorted, his hand hovering over a rook. "You haven't won a single game yet. Don't start now."

"Oh, it's on," Emmett said, grinning as he leaned forward dramatically.

The easy laughter and soft moments between them hadn't gone unnoticed by Bella and Edward. Standing in the kitchen, Bella watched from the doorway, her expression thoughtful.

"They've bonded so much," Bella murmured, her arms crossed as she leaned against the counter.

Edward nodded, his golden eyes focused on the scene. "Rosalie has always wanted this. And Emmett… he's a natural with them."

Bella's gaze softened. "It feels right, doesn't it? For all of them."

Edward turned to her, his expression unreadable. "Do you think the children are ready for another change?"

Bella's lips pressed together thoughtfully. "We'll have to ask them. But I think they'll say yes."

Later that evening, Rosalie and Emmett approached Bella and Edward in the living room. The air between them was tense but hopeful, Rosalie's hands clasped tightly in front of her.

"We've been talking," Rosalie began, her voice steady but filled with emotion. "And… we'd like to adopt Juliette and Nathaniel. To take them in as our own."

Bella tilted her head, her eyes scanning Rosalie's face. She could see the hope there, but also the fear—fear of rejection, of being told no.

"They've come out of their shells with you," Bella said softly. "They trust you. And I know how much this means to you, Rosalie. To both of you."

Emmett nodded, his usual humor replaced by seriousness. "We love them, Bella. We really do. And we'd do anything to keep them safe, to give them a real family."

Bella smiled faintly. "It's not my decision to make. It's theirs. But I think you should talk to them."

Rosalie and Emmett found Juliette and Nathaniel in the backyard, sitting on the porch steps and watching the stars. The cool night air was filled with the soft rustling of leaves, and the faint scent of pine lingered in the breeze.

"Mind if we join you?" Emmett asked, plopping down beside Nathaniel without waiting for an answer.

Rosalie sat beside Juliette, her hands resting lightly in her lap. For a moment, they all sat in silence, the only sound the distant hoot of an owl.

"We wanted to talk to you about something important," Rosalie began, her voice gentle.

Juliette glanced at her, curiosity flickering in her eyes.

"We've been spending a lot of time together," Rosalie continued. "And I think you both know how much we care about you. But we wanted to ask… how would you feel about becoming part of our family? Officially."

Nathaniel's eyes widened, and he looked at Emmett, who gave him a crooked grin.

"You mean… like, you'd adopt us?" Nathaniel asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

Rosalie nodded. "Only if that's what you want. There's no pressure. But we'd love to have you as our children. To give you a home, stability… love."

Juliette's lower lip trembled as she stared at Rosalie, her eyes glistening. "You really mean that?"

"Of course we do," Emmett said, his voice uncharacteristically soft. "You two are amazing. You've already made us better just by being here."

Nathaniel looked at Juliette, and for a moment, the two shared a silent conversation. Then Juliette turned back to Rosalie, her voice breaking as she said, "Yes. We'd love that."

Rosalie pulled her into a tight embrace, her cool hands gently stroking Juliette's hair as tears spilled down her cheeks. Emmett ruffled Nathaniel's hair, laughing softly as he said, "Guess that makes you my official chess nemesis now."

Nathaniel grinned, his usual guarded expression replaced by something lighter. "You're on."

Saying Goodbye

The next morning, Isabella and Elliot sat with Juliette and Nathaniel on the porch swing, the warm sunlight filtering through the trees.

"So… you're really leaving?" Isabella asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Not leaving," Juliette corrected, her hand resting on Isabella's. "We'll still be around. We'll see each other all the time."

"And have sleepovers," Nathaniel added, nudging Elliot with a grin.

Elliot gave a small smile, but his usual bravado was muted. "It's going to be weird not having you guys here every day."

Juliette leaned her head against Isabella's shoulder. "You're not getting rid of us that easily. We're family now, no matter where we live."

Isabella wrapped her arm around Juliette, her heart heavy but full. "You better not forget that."

Nathaniel clapped Elliot on the back. "And you better keep practicing. I'm not letting you off the hook for training."

Elliot smirked. "Only if you don't let Emmett turn you into a mini-version of himself."

The four of them laughed, the sound bittersweet but full of love.

A New Home

As Rosalie and Emmett drove away with Juliette and Nathaniel, the Cullen house felt quieter but no less full. Bella watched from the doorway, her hand resting on Edward's.

"They'll be happy," Edward murmured, his voice certain.

Bella nodded, her heart full of pride for her family. "They already are."
