At Aunt Lucy's house, Arthur said, "Francine offered to come over with me to help out. Is that alright?"

"That's fine by me," said Jane.

"Do you want us to help you before we do homework?" asked Arthur.

"You can just take the trash out real quick," said Jane.

"Sure, Mom," said Arthur.

"Thank you, dear," said Jane.

He went to go do that. Francine was coming in after she made a phone call to her mom.

"I was on the phone with my mom and she said it was nice of me to offer to help out," said Francine.

"I'm glad, too," said Jane.

"And, do you want us to do the dishes, too?" asked Francine.

"That would be great," said Jane.

They did the dishes after Arthur came back in after the trash duty. After they did that, Jane said, "You guys can do homework now. Thank you for your help."

"No problem," said Francine.

"My sister will be home soon," said Jane. "She doesn't think she might be able to take time off yet to help take care of my father, but she said we can still help her."

"Fine by me," said Arthur.

"I don't mind helping out. The others haven't been supportive," said Francine.

"I'm surprised at Buster," said Jane.

"So am I. He was supposed to be my best friend," said Arthur.

"Their excuses are they were giving Arthur space," said Francine.

"That's not an excuse. He needs friends. They know he have been going through a tough time. It's a good thing he has you," said Jane.

"He knew what I went through with Bubba's death," said Francine. She told Jane on what Muffy had said. "I got mad at Muffy for saying that."

"Of course," said Jane.

They went to start on her homework. They were able to finish it by the time Aunt Lucy came home.

"Thank you for staying," said Aunt Lucy.

"No problem. The kids have been great helpers," said Jane.

"Okay, great. I can't take time off. My boss is going to be on medical leave for a month," said Aunt Lucy. "He's going to have surgery."

"Don't you worry. We can still handle that," said Jane.

"Thank you, sis," said Aunt Lucy. "But I will have a day off once a week. That's the only time I won't need you."

"How about when you do errands?" asked Jane.

"I barely do them, but when I do, I'll let you know," said Aunt Lucy.

"Okay," said Jane.

After a few minutes, Jane took Francine home on the way home.

"How about when you do errands?" asked Jane.

"I barely do them, but when I do, I'll let you know," said Aunt Lucy.

"Okay," said Jane.

"If you don't hear me, that means I'm all set," said Aunt Lucy.

"We can always do your errands for you," said Arthur.

"That would be a fine idea," said Jane. "How does that sound?"

"It's a deal," said Aunt Lucy.
