The room had a charged energy as Team RWBY, plus Sun, gathered around the game table. With Team JNPR out for the night, Jaune's DM screen stood empty. However, not one to let a role go unfilled, Winter stood up and cleared her throat.

"I'll be taking over as your Dungeon Master tonight," she announced. Her usual calm, steely demeanor seemed to flicker with excitement as she took her place behind the screen, gazing down at the mini-figures representing Team JNPR's characters. With a flick of her hand, she shrank them down and placed them into Yang's outstretched hand.

"What the—oh, I'm keeping these?" Yang looked at the tiny figurines in awe.

"Consider it temporary custody," Winter replied. "But don't lose them."

"Straight into the bottomless pouch," Yang smirked, dropping the mini-JNPR team into her magical bag.

Winter sat down and glanced at her notes. "Since Jaune's not here, I think we'll postpone his night mission. He'd want to be here for that." Her eyes gleamed with a slight smirk. "Instead, we'll explore the Enchanted Forest of Death."

Ruby, who'd been rummaging through her dice, froze. "Wait—did you say Death?"

Weiss crossed her arms. "There's always 'death' in these games. Can we not have one peaceful forest?"

Winter's smirk broadened. "The Forest of Death is rumored to hold treasures, but only for those brave enough to face its challenges."

Ruby looked skeptical. "Or we could, you know… not go to a place literally called the Forest of Death?"

"Let's put it to a vote," Winter said, rolling a die to determine the outcome.

They each rolled their dice, the numbers coming up in a mix of highs and lows.

Winter leaned over the table. "Looks like it's a tie. Yang, you're the tiebreaker."

Yang grinned, cracking her knuckles and picking up her die. "No pressure or anything, huh?" She rolled with a confident flick of the wrist, and everyone leaned forward to check her number…

"Natural 1."

There was a moment of silence, broken only by the sound of Yang slumping back in her chair, letting out a roar of frustration. "NO! NOT AGAIN!" She bolted up, pacing across the room. "I swear, these dice hate me!"

The others waited, watching as Yang stormed out the door. She returned a minute later, visibly calmer and muttering under her breath, "Alright, just had to get that out of my system."

Winter shrugged. "Decision made. We venture into the Enchanted Forest of Death."

The group collectively sighed, but with their path set, they settled in to begin the mission. Winter leaned forward, describing the forest's dark, twisted trees, the ominous sounds of creatures rustling in the underbrush, and the oppressive air of something watching their every move.

The adventure began with an immediate ambush of ogres, trolls, goblins, and other fearsome creatures.

"Okay, one ogre at nine o'clock, another troll by that twisted tree, and… is that a goblin slinging rocks?" Ruby asked, eyeing Winter.

"Yup. They seem to think you'd make a good snack," Winter said with a slight smile. "Roll for initiative, everyone."

The group jumped into battle mode, dice clattering as they took turns strategizing and swinging imaginary weapons.

Blake sidestepped a goblin, her character gracefully dodging each attack with ease. "This would be easier if these things dropped useful loot."

"They might," Winter hinted. "But only if you're thorough."

After a solid fifteen minutes of intense combat, the team managed to subdue their attackers and looted some modest treasures: a few bags of gold, some basic weapon upgrades, and a strange, pulsing crystal that Weiss insisted on pocketing.

"Okay, so we're walking through this forest, fighting creatures left and right," Penny said, her brows knitted in curiosity. "But… why?"

Winter tapped her screen with a grin. "Ah, I was just getting to that. You come upon a clearing, and there, nestled between two ominous trees, you see a small, dilapidated cabin."

"Uh-oh," Blake muttered. "It's never good when there's a random cabin in the middle of a dangerous forest."

"Inside the cabin," Winter continued, "there lies your next quest: to exterminate the paranormal entities within. Only then will the Forest of Death reveal the prize hidden within its depths."

Ruby's eyes widened. "Ghosts? We're supposed to fight ghosts?"

Blake raised a hand. "Hang on, how are we supposed to… you know, fight ghosts? They're intangible."

"Yeah, what do we do, throw rocks at them and hope they're allergic to gravel?" Yang quipped.

Sun leaned in with a confident grin. "That's where I come in, ladies and gentlemen." He gestured to his character sheet. "I've got a buff that's perfect for dealing with pesky ghosts."

Weiss narrowed her eyes. "Is that so? Let's see what you've got, then." She rolled a dice for an insight check, and it passed easily. Scanning his character sheet, she raised her eyebrows. "Huh. Alright, I didn't think you'd have something like that. Guess we can give it a shot."

The rest of the group shrugged, murmuring agreement. Sun's enthusiasm was infectious, and the others figured it was worth a try.

Winter's expression turned mischievous as she continued. "You begin your long journey toward the cabin. The way is fraught with dangers: hidden traps, creatures lurking in the shadows, even a narrow bridge over a bottomless chasm."

They went through the usual rigmarole of evading enemies and dodging traps, taking down foes in surprisingly creative ways. By the time they reached the cabin, they'd managed to pocket some rare loot, including an assortment of strange amulets, a mysterious ring, and…

"Oh, what's this?" Yang's character picked up a handheld device with strange readings on it.

Winter nodded approvingly. "A PKE meter. It will help you locate the ghostly entities in the cabin."

Yang's eyes lit up. "Oh man, all I need now is a proton pack!"

Ruby squinted in confusion. "A what?"

Yang glanced around at the others, then toward the "camera" as if breaking the fourth wall. "Nothing, don't worry about it." She gave a sly wink.

Blake tilted her head, noticing the gesture. "Yang, who… who exactly are you winking at?"

Yang coughed, waving her off. "No one! Just, uh… let's go deal with some ghosts."

The team gathered around the cabin's front door, weapons at the ready.
