Been a while since I've written anything. Not my fault though, I didn't have the time to even breathe.
A lot of things happened since I joined the Republic's army. Firstly, I've gotten my baptism by fire in this new world.
Those droids that I fought back on Kamino were nothing compared to whats on the frontline. I've quickly learned that where theres one battle droid theres always another dozen at its back. I've also come in contact with other droid variants. The B2 Super battle droid, the droideka destroyer and the commando droids are on a different level compared to the B1.
Frankly speaking, if the separatists chose the B2 or the commando's as their main battle droid this war would be more difficult for the republic. Curiosity got the better of me and I asked the captain why the B1 is the separatists main droid.
The cost... 1800 credits... for the whole B1 unit and blaster rifle. Do you wanna hear the most ridiculous thing about this?
The Droid itself is 800 credits... The blaster is more expensive than the droid. It explains why theres a ton of those things.
Back to my first deployment.
The 501st have been sent to Felucia to assist the 327th secure better positions after they lost the initiative, it ain't the first time they've been sent here to assist. Felucia is a straight up death world... I honestly don't know why either side is bothering with it.
Off topic but I swear, ever since I got brought to this new world I've been to so many different and exotic planets its absurd. Almost all my life I've only known the lower and mid levels of my hive city and only after joining the Imperial guard did I get to see real vegetation. And now that I got dumped in a new world I got to see so many new environments in such a short time its absurd.
Back on topic, why either side bothers with this shithole? Its a strategic planet on a valuable hyperlane route which I learned is vital in shortening space travel and also it is the location where a special medicinal herb important to both sides is grown. I personally would just bypass it and not waste the resources just so we can get around faster. Unfortunately I can't really complain as this is my first assignment and it would looks bad on my part.
The experience on the planet has been alright so far. I got acquainted with the unit and its general who is a jedi.
Now, whats a jedi you might ask? Well a jedi is a psyker but not like our own unstable ones. Anakin is the opposite of mentaly unstable, sure he's eccentric and likes to show off from time to time but his tactical knowhow and his caring attitude towards his troops always leading from the front in combat has earned him my respect.
I also want to say that jedi are not some single entity but rather an entire monastic order dedicated to help keep the galaxy safe as they say. My irk with them is that it is formed by anyone that has magical powers. Any human or xeno that is a psyker in this world is taken in and trained to be a jedi, at least thats what I think.
And that brings me to the other two jedi, his padawan and the commander of the 327th
They're xenos, both of em. The general's padawan which is basically his apprentice that he has to teach the ways of their order is a brat. Her name's Ahsoka and I swear to the Emperor, if it wasn't for her appearance she wouldn't be any different from a human. Being young she of course was curious and asked me about my home which I of course didn't say much. By that I mean I just told the basic charade that it was okay and that I miss home, which I do.
The other xeno, the commander of the 327th is just like Ahsoka although I've been told they're different species. The only difference I see between them is the skin colour. Aayla Secura (the name of the 327th general) skin is blue while Ahsoka's is orange. Both have tails for hair and wear some pretty skimpy clothing which is considered traditional attire of their respective species.
I honestly want to hate them, I truly do. The Emperor's teachings dictates that all xenos are untrustworthy and will backstab you at the first chance they get. But all I've seen so far has been the opposite. I've seen these two xenos, Anakin included put themselves into the line of fire to protect the clones and me many times already.
I've kept my distance and tried to minimize interactions with them to not offend them. I don't know why but it made me feel like an asshole.
The battles so far have been a mix of batling the seppies and local wildlife. This planet is a death world after all. Good news is, the flora is as hostile to us as it is to the enemy. I've found my little spot in the unit, serving as a sort of marksman with the velocity of my lasgun being faster than blasters I found a nack to target the more dangerous droids that pop up from time to time.
All in all, besides the xenos it feels good to be part of the republic's army. I genuinely feel like I'm doing the right thing fighting against the droids.
Also by the way, when I got inducted into the 501st I hit a linguistic wall. They gave me some field manuals on datapads to teach me how to operate their machinery and their written language is totaly different. They speak Low Gothic which they call Galactic basic but their alphabet is different. I had to get Rex to recite the manuals while I wrote them down in our alphabet.
So yeah, I now also have to learn a new alphabet... The only good thing about this is they don't have any idea what I'm writing about.

Date: This is the last time I'm adding a date. I already lost count, the Imperial calendar and the one in this new world is so off I'm better of giving up on the dates. Right after Felucia.

We finished our mission on the death world. Emperor be blessed, I thought we were never going to get out of there. We gave the separatists a bloody nose this time. It'll be a couple of months before they replenish their numbers but it should give the 327th time to dig in.
We've been transferred back to the Republics capital to replenish some of our numbers and rearm. I didn't write this in the old logs but I ditched my old Imperial helmet and got a clone one, a phase 2 helmet. Why I'm writing about this? Because its one of the reasons the 501st has been transferred back in order to outfit the rest of the battalion with the new armor.
On felucia not all of the boys had the new kit and still wore their phase 1. I must've been lucky to be given that.
Anyway, Coruscant is the Republics capital and I must say... This is something out of the world.
The entire planet is a hive city. You read that right, the entire surface is one giant city with who knows how many people and xenos living in it. I've heard of hive worlds like Necromunda which have most of their surfaces covered with hive cities and populations in the hundreds of billions of people but never like this. Even from orbit you cannot see any patch of natural land on this planet.
I'm gonna be honest though, even if I visited the surface levels and saw all those fancy hover cars and speeders and nice looking buildings this is still a hive city. I dread to know what the lower levels look like...
Anyway, on a lighter note I wanna say I did the dumbest thing anyone could do. I joined a game of sabacc with the boys without knowing how to play. If any Imperial that is reading this doesn't know, sabacc is a card game in this new world, kinda like poker.
You can imagine how hard I lost. In the end I had to go with Jesse into the city to buy a bottle of brandy to celebrate the completed mission. Ended up spending all the credits that I made and yeah, I do get paid. I may not have signed any documents to serve the Republic but they still pay me for my service. I'm proud to say I get paid more than even the clones, not by a lot though.
Still, that sabacc game cost me my money and the whole thing ended up bad. Naturaly alcohol is prohibited in the military base and when the captain found our little group having a drink off he got pissed.
At least we all went down together.
